The Role

FareShare has a dynamic fundraising department that has seen incredible growth in support in an incredibly short space of time. We are now looking for a proven Supporter Retention Manager to join us as we embark on our next phase of deepening engagement with current and new supporters.

This newly created role is an integral part of the Fundraising team’s growth plans to become a £40 million income generating team.

Working closely with the Supporter Acquisition Manager, Supporter Experience Manager (Fundraising Operations) and the wider Fundraising team, the post-holder will lead on stewardship campaigns encompassing Warm Appeals, Regular Giving asks, Supporter newsletters and cross-sell campaigns across FareShare’s audiences. Line management of an Individual Giving Officer (or Assistant) may form part of the roles and responsibilities further down the line.

The role offers a fantastic opportunity for a proven Individual Giving professional to help drive innovation in supporter retention and development and make a decisive contribution to a high-performing team.

Main areas of responsibility

1.Plan and deliver the Warm Appeals programme in line with agreed budget targets and annual workplans

• Campaign manage the Cash Appeals programme at all stages, from initial planning through to supplier management and post-campaign analysis
• Develop and implement a rolling programme of Regular Giving Asks.

2.Develop and manage a seamless supporter journey and consistency of messaging from the initial touchpoint through to longer-term giving

• Work with the Supporter Acquisition Manager and the Supporter Experience Manager on planning, delivering and managing a seamless supporter journey and consistency of messaging from the point of acquisition
• Actively monitor Supporter attrition levels and implement measures to mitigate disengagement
• Hold regular catch-ups with the Supporter Acquisition Manager and the Supporter Experience Manager to optimise collaborative working across both teams
• Keep up to date on the latest trends and techniques in Supporter Stewardship and apply learnings as appropriate on retention initiatives.

3.Maximise opportunities for cross-team campaigns

• Collaborate with the wider fundraising team on new and existing income generation opportunities.

4.General duties

• Provide support to the Individual Giving team where necessary.

About the role

Working across Global Witness’s campaigns within a larger data team, you will support our larger data investigations.  Using a range of tools and techniques, including data storytelling, analysis, bots and webscraping, you will highlight the role of corporations in worsening the environmental and climate crises.

About you

You will bring core data specialist skills, in particular in financial analysis, natural language processing, remote sensing and accessing and using open data.

We want to evolve, grow and develop and so want to hear the data analysis and presentation skills you could bring to our work.

About the Role

In your role you will be responsible for developing, delivering and overseeing RSPB’s wider countryside conservation work and managing associated staff on the islands to ensure conservation of the many species and habitats of international importance and so ensure delivery of relevant outcomes of RSPB’s Saving Nature Strategy across Orkney. The role will lead, manage and develop the conservation team in the area, helping to deliver a work programme focused on our priority landscapes including some of Scotland’s rarest and most iconic species and habitats.

This will be achieved by using detailed knowledge and experience of the appropriate conservation toolkit to ensure we achieve our objectives. This may include site safeguard casework, species recovery work, land management advice, overseeing conservation projects and engagement in land use and marine policy.

This post will have a key role in instigating and managing programmes and projects across the Area and in association with RSPB colleagues. This includes those led by RSPB in the local area such as Species on the Edge and those where delivery is achieved across wider partnerships. You will be proactive with other island stakeholders to deliver ambitious targets for key marine, upland, wetland, peatland & farmland species and habitats. The position will have an important external role, building positive relationships with key partners and stakeholders so that RSPB’s policies and messages are understood and furthered within relevant partnerships and fora. As the conservation leader within the area team, you will contribute expertise to the Area management structures, monitoring and reporting on the work plan and development of new work plans and/or project ideas. You will also be expected to contribute expertise and experience to RSPB’s policy and advocacy work and contribute to the delivery of our funding and communications objectives, through communicating our conservation messages in various ways.

You will ensure we can identify threats to priority species and habitats and work with internal staff and external stakeholders to develop and implement projects, strategies and programmes of work to address these threats. You will lead on casework response in the islands and manage projects and internal budgets and staff. You will help shape where we carry out species recovery work across the islands and help spot out future opportunities to work on our key species and habitats. You will help shape and deliver the Orkney Local biodiversity action plan in partnership with stakeholders. You will liaise with our research, planning and policy colleagues to conserve our island wildlife

You might know us for our group walks, thousands of which take place every week across England, Scotland and Wales.

But there’s a lot more to the Ramblers. Since 1935, we’ve been fighting for the public’s right to enjoy Britain’s landscapes. We do it through campaigning for changes in legislation, opening up green routes in cities, maintaining paths and signposts, saving lost paths … and so much more.

Purpose of Role

The Community Engagement Manager is a pivotal new role in the delivery of our refreshed strategy. Too many of the people who would benefit most from walking outdoors face significant barriers – they are under-represented in the Ramblers and the outdoors community. Ramblers has several projects at different stages of development and delivery to begin to address this, but we are aware there is a considerable body of theory and practice in public and charity sectors on outreach to excluded communities that could help us achieve our goals. 

We are looking for a professional with considerable experience in this area who can help us create a common approach to our outreach and engagement work that builds on our existing experience and incorporates wider best practice.

The role

1. To bring into the Ramblers expertise and best practice on approaches to community outreach and engagement from across the voluntary and public sectors.
2. To establish and deepen relationships with excluded communities, particularly lower IMD communities in existing and future pilot areas.
3. To support and advise project leaders within the Ramblers across GB who are engaging a range of excluded groups and audiences including refugees and asylum seekers, global majority communities, lower IMD communities, LGBTQI communities and people who are neurodivergent or have disabilities.
4. To collaborate with other project leads working with excluded communities within the Ramblers, to build consensus about a common approach or toolkit and to help develop, document, and implement this approach.
5. To help initiate and support partnerships with other national organisations working with excluded groups, including lower IMD communities – particularly those organisations looking to boost physical activity, involvement in the outdoors or the appreciation of nature.
6. To support funder relationships by contributing to bid development and reporting, including for Sport England and the National Lottery Community Fund.
7. To support efforts to build wider awareness across staff and volunteers at the Ramblers about what successful outreach and engagement with excluded groups looks like.
8. To help raise the Ramblers profile as an organisation that is supporting those who face the greatest barriers to getting outdoors.
9. To undertake such other duties as may reasonably be required of the postholder by the Ramblers.

The person 

Knowledge and Experience 

• Good knowledge of the theoretical underpinnings of outreach/engagement with excluded communities.
• Experience of best practice in the delivery of community outreach/engagement, ideally in a variety of settings including lower IMD neighbourhoods.

• Experience of delivering public health, sport and physical activity, or nature-connectedness programmes in partnership with local communities and organisations.
• Experience of working with the voluntary sector, volunteers and ideally membership organisations.
• Experience of assessing and managing risk in relation to physical activities, or a willingness to learn.

Skills and Leadership 

• Experience of working with others in a leadership or co-ordination role to develop and implement new ways of working.
• Strong facilitation and training skills.
• Ability to lead group walks in a way that is enjoyable, engaging and safe for all participants.

Qualification [desirable]

• Walk Leadership qualification (e.g. Lowland Leader or Hill and Moorland Leader) – or ability to work towards one.

About our client 

This project is funded by the Nature Networks Programme. The Heritage Fund is delivering it on behalf of the Welsh Government. 

Do you want to be part of a team leading the field in the development of private investment into nature’s recovery? 

In the past 18 months, The Trusts have been developing new approaches to funding nature’s recovery from the private sector, utilising novel revenue approaches such as nutrient neutrality credits and the voluntary carbon market amongst others. They have developed finance mechanisms to sit alongside these revenue streams such as a philanthropic loan system. They now want to scale up this work to help The Trusts and others to scale nature’s recovery across Wales. They need to turn policy into strong principles that allows us to develop guidelines and templates to help the Trusts across Wales access green finance. 

Our client need dedicated expertise and capacity to work with the Trusts to bring this work into a coherent strategy, develop models and plans that build revenues for nature’s recovery allowing much greater investment. Collectively, The Trusts have more than 900,000 members, employ 3,500 staff, look after over 2,300 nature reserves, operate 123 visitor and education centres and own 29 working farms. The role of the trust is to ensure a strong voice for wildlife at a UK level and to provide strategic leadership, support and development for The Trusts. They provide shared expertise in areas such as climate change, digital fundraising, nature-based solutions, policy and safeguarding. They facilitate UK-wide communities of practice to share learning and replicate successful approaches so that together they are more than the sum of their parts. They support the individual Trusts to be a strong force for nature in their local areas and to work together to achieve even greater impact as a collective. 

The Trusts are on a mission to bring about a people-powered nature and climate recovery by empowering people to take meaningful action for nature, and to create an inclusive society where nature matters to everyone, everywhere. They are ambitious in their desire not just to slow, but to reverse the declines in nature. Together they have developed a bold, new collective strategy which outlines their vision and the actions they will take to restore nature over the next eight years. 

Central to their strategy are their three goals which set out what they are striving to achieve by 2030 in pursuit of their vision of a thriving natural world. Goal 1 is to put nature into recovery with abundant, diverse wildlife and natural processes creating wilder land and seascapes where people and nature thrive. Goal 2 is to inspire people to take action for nature and climate, resulting in better decision-making for the environment at both local level and across the four UK nations. And Goal 3 is to enable nature to play a central and valued role in helping to address local and global problems, such as by helping tackle climate change and supporting wellbeing and education. 

Achieving these ambitious objectives means that they must develop new ways of working which increase the scale and impact of their work. Therefore, they have embarked on a programme of strategic transformations that are essential to achieving their goals, and which will result in a stronger and more effective Trust movement for the long term. They are leading the transformation programme across The Trusts including in community organising, equality, diversity and inclusion, and funding nature’s recovery. The Trusts have existed for over 100 years thanks to a strong membership base and traditional fundraising activities. 

Now, to achieve the level of funding needed to reverse nature’s decline, they need to diversify and increase their income by exploring new ways of funding such as innovative finance. 

About You 

You will be from a commercial background within private, public or charitable sector. You will have an entrepreneurial approach grounded by great commercial experience. They would expect an understanding of the green finance marketplace and that you are comfortable with legal and contract management. You will be a great communicator, with a personable style who can work with many different people across the wonderful variety of geography, business development, and activities of the Trusts.

As Senior Partnership Manager, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of one or more major strategic partnerships from the WWF portfolio. We will look to you to take a strategic approach to grow income, policy influence, programmatic impact and brand and communications reach. This will involve providing strategic oversight and guidance to your team in delivering their partnership portfolio, as well as collaborating with internal specialists to achieve partnership delivery and development objectives. You will ensure that effective partnership governance mechanisms are in place and activities are monitored, evaluated and reported too. To play your part in bringing our world back to life, you must have extensive experience of leading strategic partnerships and a good understanding of how charities / NGOs interface with the corporate sector. Used to engaging and networking at a senior level, you will possess excellent negotiation, influencing and diplomacy skills. You will have a firm understanding of conservation and sustainability issues and trends too. Corporate fundraising experience would be an advantage and in particular, experience of working with the FMCG and/or Food sectors.

The role

The communications manager will play a central role in enhancing B Lab UK’s credibility by leveraging our corporate milestones, data, insights, partnerships and public affairs work to reach priority audiences. You will work closely with our campaigns team to influence policymakers and develop thought-leadership to make a compelling case for an alternative to business as usual. You will be responsible for overseeing and optimising B Lab UK’s press office function, including monitoring and responding to reputational risk across the B Corp movement. 

Primary responsibilities

• Drive the delivery of core components of the communication strategy, specifically owning our corporate communications, press office and acting as the first port of call for media issues management

• Developing and owning media strategies to increase the organisation’s influence, build understanding of evolving standards and support our policy and public affairs ambitions. 

• Lead B Lab UK’s thought leadership agenda to raise the leadership team and organisation’s profile and establish us as a leader in economic systems change

• Establish and leverage relationships with key journalists, aligned organisations and B Lab UK partners

• Line-manage members of the communications team, including the communications coordinator and leading the communications internship programme

• Procure and manage the day to day business of external communications providers (agency/freelance), monitoring and managing budgets, timelines and deliverables 

• Collaborate with managers across the organisation, leading on cross-organisational projects where necessary

• Collaborate with B Lab network counterparts, ensuring UK communications plans align with B Lab Global and other regions

Skills and experience

• Experience writing briefs and procuring and managing agencies

• People management experience within the communications specialism

• A strong news sense and prior experience of delivering media relations campaigns or developing news stories

CPRE Kent is an independent charity, federated with more than 40 CPRE county branches and the national CPRE organisation, giving us local, regional and national reach. The Director will work with our trustees, staff and network of volunteers to formulate local strategy, run local campaigns and liaise with national CPRE.

We are looking for an exceptional individual who can work with and motivate volunteers, take a strategic view on issues affecting Kent’s countryside and represent CPRE at County and National forums and via social, local and national media. The role also involves management of the staff team.

We are looking to fill a full-time post at a salary of circa £55k per annum. However, we would be prepared to consider appointing a 4-day-per-week post at a pro rata salary.

Rainforest Foundation UK (RFUK) strives for a fairer and more sustainable world by working with Indigenous Peoples and other communities of the world’s rainforests. This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing team working at the forefront of the fight against tropical deforestation, climate change and social injustice.

As the Monitoring & Rights Manager at RFUK, you will drive forward our strategy to empower frontline communities to monitor and defend their rights and to bring about systemic change in the management and protection of tropical forests. With a proven track record in programme management, you will ensure successful implementation of high-impact projects together with our local partners including the roll out of our innovative ForestLink real-time monitoring system. You'll propose ways to strengthen and expand the programme, coordinate with key stakeholders, and represent this work externally. Reporting to the Head of Programmes, your responsibilities include programme management and development, support to local partners and staff management.

Person specifications

The Monitoring & Rights Manager should hold a Master's Degree in law, anthropology, or international development, with 3 to 5 years of project management experience in charity or international development. Fluency in English and French is required, with a strong grasp of forest governance and human rights issues, particularly in West and Central Africa.

Essential skills include leadership, strategic thinking, negotiation, and financial management, alongside proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Personal attributes include a commitment to defending human rights, cultural sensitivity, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure. Willingness to travel up to 16 weeks per year, including to remote areas, is necessary.

THE ROLE
The Project Development Manager role is part of The Building Capacity Project funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF), which seeks to develop the skills and capacity of communities on the west coast of Scotland to deliver the aims of the Alliance for Scotland’s Rainforest i.e. protect and restore Scotland’s globally important temperate rainforest. The Woodland Trust has secured funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) for this project's initial two-year ‘development’ phase.

The Project Development Manager will lead the development work, coordinating project partners to ensure the timely development of plans for the delivery and for the stage 2 funding bid to NLHF. They will oversee delivery of specific activities ensuring targets and timelines are adhered to and the prudent financial management of the development phase budget. They’ll produce reports and feedback to funders and the project board and steering group regarding progress as well as identifying opportunities to share best practice to maximise opportunities.

This is an 18 month fixed term position. Should our funding bid for the subsequent five-year ‘delivery’ phase be successful, we hope the PDM will remain in post to support the delivery of these plans.

THE CANDIDATE
You’ll have experience in project development, leadership and delivery in the environment, conservation or heritage sector including experience in managing contractors and consultants. You’ll have the ability to monitor, evaluate and learn from the project progress, using your excellent communication skills to report back to the funders and project board. 

You will have experience building meaningful working relationships with a range of key stakeholders, engaging effectively with them to be involved and inspired by our work and ensuring maximised potential impact of the project.  You will have a collaborative approach with experience of working with partners and multiple teams and organisations for a shared purpose.
You’ll be self-motivated and flexible having the ability to manage and organise a diverse workload.
