The Senior Income & Engagement Officer (Individuals) leads War on Want’s activities acquire, retain, and develop individual supporters using a range of channels both on and offline. The right candidate will be a seasoned campaign manager with experience across a range of channels like direct mail, email, and telemarketing. Their creative flair and understanding of what mobilises individual giving audiences will help them to develop compelling propositions for support. Their strategic mindset and data literacy will ensure they spot performance trends and optimise their campaigns over time.
As individual giving lead, the Senior Income & Engagement Officer will join War on Want at a very exciting time. We have recently launched a new supporter mobilisation strategy to bring transformative growth to our supporter base, both increasing participation with War on Want campaigns, and increasing the number of active War on Want members who support our work with regular monthly donations.
This position would suit an experienced fundraiser who’s looking to take ownership of an individual giving strategy. In doing so, they will oversee a significant proportion of War on Want’s income and engagement Programme and make a valued contribution in the fight against global poverty.

About you

Haringey Community Collaborative Manager

Job Summary
The Haringey Community Collaborative Manager is responsible for leading the development of the VCS Capacity Building strategy and the effective co-ordination of the Community Collaborative team which includes a Communications and Engagement Officer, a Workplace Development Manager, and a Capacity Building Manager.
We envisage the Haringey Community Collaborative Manager performing at either a primarily operational level or, for a more experienced candidate, at both operational and strategic levels. The salary range reflects this, with the upper end of the salary range reserved for candidates who can demonstrate an ability to deliver at both the operational and strategic levels.
Operationally, the postholder will have specific management responsibility for co-developing priorities for local VCS funding and capacity building, as well as the Volunteer Centre and wider VCS community of practice. Strategically, the role would include a wider contribution to the strategic management and development of Public Voice, supporting the CEO as required. This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Service Manager to support women and children who are impacted by domestic abuse and other gender-based crimes. In this role you will provide line management and support to staff who work with and help women and their children who have experienced domestic abuse and are staying in our Lambeth refuges. Our Lambeth refuges are culturally specific services for women and children of African and Caribbean heritage. NRPF Partnership
The NRPF partnership was set up in 2023 and is being developed by Citizens UK, Migration Exchange, and Praxis. We are working to build the necessary infrastructure for collaboration across a range of organisations, amplify their work, and build power to win change against the No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF) condition. Each partner contributes staff capacity and will work closely with the appointed person to ensure a positive, professional and supportive culture. The Partnership centres around:
1) Placing decision-making power and strategic vision in the hands of people doing the work
(frontline staff and people with lived experience), via a steering group and working groups.
2) Establishing a strategic pooled fund so that the steering group has sufficient budget to guide the collaboration, act, identify and seize political opportunities, and facilitate active participation of everyone involved.
3) Expanding the movement and building power, using incremental wins to build towards broader change towards the goal of ending NRPF.
The Person and the Role
100,000s people in our communities have put down roots in the UK but are denied access to the welfare safety net (No Recourse to Public Funds).
Citizens UK has worked with Migration Exchange and Praxis to raise over £2m to develop a 5 year partnership to enable the movement to end NRPF.
This Senior Project role will be a core part of the support to the steering group of the partnership to make sure it runs effectively and achieves its potential.

As the Major Donor Manager, you will join a collaborative fundraising team and focus on building upon existing and new relationships with high-net-worth-individuals to secure income and support. Working within a sub-team of three including a Prospect Research Manager and the Senior Major Donor Manager, this role will have great support and work with the team to grow the major donor portfolio and achieve a team target. To be successful as the Major Donor Manager you will have proven experience in building and securing relationships with high-net-worth-individuals. This person will have secured relationships of either a four, five or six figure level. Pact is a pioneering national charity that supports prisoners, people with convictions, and their children and families, providing caring and life changing services at every stage of the criminal justice process in court, in prison, on release, and in the community.
This can be a 4 day working role, with the possibility to be 5 days, along with the option to be home working or hybrid, within easy reach of London for meetings with funders.
You will have experience of building and developing Major Donor Fundraiisng. The charity are in the fortunate position of having a strong Major Donor pipeline and lot of well connected supporters.
The Role
Manage existing major supporters, strengthening relationships and engagement through strong stewardship, including producing written reports and organising visits to meet beneficiaries.
Build and manage your own portfolio of major donors.
Develop the legacy strategy and offer, including to the wider base of individual supporters.
Implement a strategic work plan to secure new and repeat core income from family trusts as well as cultivating and maintaining excellent relationships with existing and new grant making Trusts and Foundations.
The Candidate
Experience of working in a fundraising team and with independence to raise funds from individuals and to lead on this area within a charity.
Proven track record and specialism in major donor giving.
Experience of writing proposals and reports.
Experience of researching and cultivating individuals including HNWIs .

About you

About the role
This role will line-manage four direct reports, delivering communications and marketing activity across the organisation. Working closely with the Head of Communications and Marketing, key activities for 2024/25 will include updating our content management system; rolling out a new marketing function within our CRM; delivering agreed communications elements for our 60th anniversary programme; and working with colleagues to ensure all digital marketing activity is integrated, value for money, agile by design and delivers against our strategic priorities.

As an Area Manager you will give leadership, direction and guidance to the staff of Medaille Trust to ensure the provision and development of a high quality service in line with the Trust’s Mission, Values and Strategy.
You will have a good understanding of the CQC framework relating to Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking. You will carry out quarterly assurance audits in all safe houses ensuring any appropriate action is taken where necessary.
You will line manage, induct, mentor, coach and support Service Managers. Additionally, you will ensure that any complaints, grievances and disciplinaries are investigated and responded to in an effective and timely manner in line with Medaille Policies.
Although the post is home based, the post holder will be expected to travel frequently to our safe houses within the South and London areas with some overnight stays.
You must have previous experience in a relevant sector or experience of working with adults that are vulnerable. Experience of managing staff, carrying out line management, supervision and appraisals is essential. Additionally, you must have experience of setting up Service User Engagement groups.
