• To collaborate with other Bromley Well partners, including Mencap/MIND etc. to ensure effective appropriate referral pathways for quality service provision.
• To abide by and take part in the development and review of policy and procedure for the Carers pathway.
• At all times to maintain the professional integrity and reputation of the Charity and represent their main interests in any dealings with other bodies, groups and individuals.
• Attend staff meetings, supervision and organisational events as required.
• Collect case studies to help demonstrate AGE UK Bromley and Greenwich’s Adult Carers Support service’s impact.
• To undertake any other duties commensurate with the purpose and remit of the post.

In October 2022 Salford City Council commissioned Salford CVS to undertake research into the strengths of the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector as part of their Joint Needs and Strengths Assessment.

Every three years since 2008, Salford CVS leads on State of the VCSE Sector research in Salford and also across Greater Manchester. Working with other local infrastructure organisations, we aim to provide a comprehensive overview of the VCSE sector. Our last research report was published in 2021 and we have started planning for the research to be conducted this year.

In August 2023 we further developed our VCSE sector research and insight work with the commencement of our Salford 99 longitudinal study. This research project is designed to understand the issues affecting the VCSE sector in Salford and aims to track 99 VCSE organisations every six months for a three-year period, so that we gain ‘live’ insight in between our three-yearly State of the VCSE sector large research project. Alongside this work we conduct a Pulse Check survey with a variety of VCSE organisations to get a snapshot of what is changing for them each quarter.

This exciting VCS Research and Insight role involves a combination of VCSE engagement and insight work across Salford.

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Service Manager to support women and children who are impacted by domestic abuse and other gender-based crimes. In this role you will provide line management and support to staff who work with and help women and their children who have experienced domestic abuse and are staying in our Lambeth refuges. Our Lambeth refuges are culturally specific services for women and children of African and Caribbean heritage. This will include providing supervision on complex casework issues such as child protection, overseeing operational emergencies and ensuring high standards of casework.

Please note that this post is restricted to women due to the nature of the role. The Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 (part 1) of the Equality Act 2010 applies. This role will also require an enhanced DBS check.

Job title - Events Fundraiser

Office Location – Wendover, Bucks.

Salary - Up to £30,000 (FTE)

About the Role 

The Events Fundraiser will support the charity’s aim to provide all life-limited children, their families, and carers, within their hospice, emotional support through the power and pleasure of nature. The post holder will be responsible for generating income through the management of a range of fundraising events, as well as supporting individuals organising their own fundraising activities within their community and/or corporate environment. 

You will ensure efficient event management and administration as well as provide excellent supporter care. 

The Event Fundraiser will:

• Project manage a range of events, including planning, marketing, and supporter stewardship, through to event delivery and evaluation. 
• Effectively manage internal and external stakeholders to deliver and schedule events, on time, within budget, meeting fundraising goals. 
• Deliver exceptional supporter care to those who support the work of the charity. 
• Plan and deliver events, including logistics, briefing of stakeholders and volunteers, compiling risk assessments and any other tasks relevant to ensuring an excellent supporter experience. 
• Ensure the supporter database is accurate and up to date, as well as follow all relevant financial processes to ensure event income and expenditure are accurately recorded. 
• Report fortnightly to the Director of Fundraising & Communications on agreed fundraising targets and activity. 
• Be responsible for ensuring relevant community and events pages, news, and forms on the Greenfingers website are accurate and up to date. 
• Work collaboratively with the team.
• Carry out any other duties as may be reasonably required.

Lead Counsellor (Full-Time)

Reporting to the Project Director, the Lead Counsellor will be leading a team of up to 10 counsellors, overseeing the counselling service of the Ethnic Minority Well-being Centre, an initiative of the HKSAR Government.

The selected candidate will benefit from working in the collaborative and professional environment of a fast-growing Hong Kong NGO, engaging with a group of global mental health advisors as well as contributing to the betterment of Hong Kong community’s ethnic minority population.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the Ethnic Minority Well-Being Centre’s cases, protocols, supervision, administration and capacity building, including but not limited to the following:

• Oversee all cases accepted by the Ethnic Minority Well-being Centre and ensure the counselling team are conducting counselling treatments according to the standard practices and protocols of the Centre.

• Work with Project Manager to manage screening and intake of all cases, and assign cases to appropriate counsellors

• Work with Counsellors to manage risk assessments and the case follow-up process with clients, and filing of these notes.

• Work closely with Senior Management on managing protocols around potential clients and  clients with suicidal risks

• Provide supervision to the counsellor team

• Provide direct counselling to clients

• Review and enhance service protocols as necessary

• Provide necessary information of counselling cases for reporting purpose to stakeholders and funder

• Develop content and deliver talks, including capacity building training, for social workers, mental health professionals, teachers, NGO staff and other stakeholders

• Lead Counsellor will also be expected to be under supervision by an external experienced counsellor and should meet the supervisor once every month

The individual MUST:

• Be a registered clinical psychologist recognized by one of the following organisations:

South London Citizens 

South London Citizens is a thriving chapter with a growing team of ~18 organisers and project staff. We are building the power of communities in South London through borough alliances (in Greenwich, Lewisham, Southwark, Lambeth, Wandsworth, Merton, Croydon) and the wider region by developing community leadership and supporting people to take action on what matters most to them. Over the past three years, we have worked in partnership with mental health trusts to deliver a pioneering organising project, South London Listens (SLL), to prevent mental ill-health, and more recently with wider South London NHS leaders to take action on a range of issues (from low wages to housing conditions) that impact our communities’ health.

Purpose 

We are looking for two Associate Organisers to join our thriving and dynamic team in South London building the power of local communities. These roles will support local organising, and have a specific focus on health and living wage organising.

In this exciting and innovative role, you will work with community organisations, including faith institutions, schools, universities, and community groups. Your primary responsibility will be to

1. build ‘Be Well’ teams to support the wellbeing of their communities, as part of the South London Listens partnership; 

2. find and develop new community leaders within their organisations; and 

3. take action to tackle the social determinants of health inequality (e.g. lack of migration status, racism, housing conditions, low wages and precarious work).

One or both of the roles will also include specific organising with low paid workers to lead the fight for a real living wage and living hours.

Grow and deliver on the priorities of South London Listens and our broader Health organising 

• Build and support new Be Well Hubs in a range of institutions in your allocated boroughs. Including identifying new institutions, delivering training, and supporting them once they are established.

• Work with other organisers to deliver on the priorities identified by communities that are part of the South London Listens project

• Ensure reporting and capturing of stories of the South London Listens project are captured and shared to celebrate and grow the project.

At least one of the roles includes supporting our organising efforts for more just work and wages 

• Identify and develop worker leaders

• Take action with South London Citizens leaders to increase the number of living wage and living hours employers in London 

• Develop and deliver community organising training for worker leaders 

Build relational power to further the goals of CUK 

• Actively participate in the development of a comprehensive power analysis appropriate to the desired sphere of influence for each project/assignment

• Establish working relationships with identified leaders and demonstrate ability to move them into action, including as part of the wider alliance; taking the initiative to establish new relationships as required

• Conduct one-to-ones to develop relationships with leaders and understand their concerns.

• Recruit new dues paying institutions; work together with a more senior Organiser to negotiate annual membership fees and letters of understanding

• Liaise with the Finance & Operations team to update the membership database and ensure timely invoicing and fee collection

The successful applicant will be required to undertake a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check. DBS checks are renewed on a 3-year cycle. 

Interviews are planned to take place on Wednesday, 12th June (subject to change).
