ReachOut is a national mentoring and education charity, rooted in local communities. Working in under-resourced areas, we support young people to grow in character and confidence, sparking change in themselves and society. 

Our Youth Project Leaders are individuals who are passionate about working with young people, supporting them to reach and be confident in their potential. You may be an experienced youth worker, or have experience facilitating sessions or working with young people and leading volunteers.

As a Project Leader, you’ll be facilitating weekly after-school mentoring sessions, leading a group of mentors and working with young people referred to ReachOut by their schools.  You can find the full job description below, or in our application pack.

You’ll also have access to free, tailored training opportunities where you can learn and refine new skills as well as working with your own career mentor if that’s something you’d be interested in.

We also run celebratory events, socials, networking and training sessions throughout the year - opportunities to meet other people who are passionate about working with and supporting young people. 

Your Job Description 

As a Youth Project Leader, you will: 

• Deliver ReachOut sessions at the same partner school on the same day and time weekly during term time.

• Prepare your ReachOut sessions, following ReachOut’s curriculum and adapting the activities to the needs and interests of your assigned group.

• Facilitate engaging ReachOut sessions for the young people attending by ensuring that the voice of young people is listened to and impacts the way the sessions are planned and facilitated.

• Manage and support a group of volunteer mentors; supporting them to build strong rapport with their mentees and helping them to understand how to best adapt their mentoring approach to the young people they are working with.

• Support theyoung people in your session to reach and be confident in their potential by facilitating the creation of good mentee/mentor relationships and by running activities to build the ReachOut Character Strengths.

• Complete monitoring and evaluation activities to ensure the sessions are as impactful as possible and set up strategies with the help of your line manager to help each young person in your group reach their mentoring goal.

• Keep in touch with the parents/carers of the young people in your group about attendance, successes and challenges.

• Manage your project’s weekly admin by planning your sessions, maintaining your attendance and providing detailed project updates to your line manager.

• Attend ReachOut events and socials with their mentors. • Follow ReachOut’s policies/procedures to safeguard young people.

• Act and communicate in a professional manner, in line with ReachOut character strengths and culture.

• Attend all compulsory training.

The Young Women’s Keyworker will work with young women aged 15-24 to provide specialist 1:1 support to those referred into the service. The service is designed to be a “whole system” response to women and girls in the Criminal Justice System, so a key part of the role will include building relationships with statutory and VCS agencies, to support and encourage more young women to access the Minerva service, as well as setting up specialist referral pathways for young women in the community. 

About You:

To be successful as the Young Women’s Keyworker you will:

Bring an in-depth knowledge of issues facing women offenders and those at risk of offending; both in and out of the Criminal Justice System. Have a strong understanding of the context and challenges facing vulnerable young women and girls, including the impacts of domestic violence, mental health, and sexual health.

Bring a significant experience of working with young women experiencing issues related to offending and experience of community engagement, advocacy and support work with young people and have proven practical experience of using motivational interviewing and coaching techniques with young women and girls, using a woman-centred approach to build trust and rapport.  You will demonstrate the ability to work in partnership with relevant statutory and voluntary groups, developing and maintaining strong constructive working relationships.

The Role

You will work as part of a city-wide team of Early Help Development Workers as well as on a locality basis to ensure that they can combine targeted work with locality needs. This will include a strong element of co production, working with residents and community assets to lead on projects and the development of new groups, services, and activities to meet the needs or improve services within the community.

The role will also focus on increasing children and family’s engagement with local assets by working with them to improve accessibility, identify gaps in provision and encourage innovation and improvements to services.

Duties and key responsibilities include:

• Engaging statutory, community and voluntary organisations in a locality and working with all communities in the city.
• Engaging with a broad range of health, education, early years and social care organisations.

• Working with the Family Hub to align outcomes and workstreams with Family Hubs Outcomes.
• Increasing children and families’ engagement with local assets by working with groups and organisations to improve accessibility, identify gaps in provision, and encourage innovation and improvement to services including local commissioning in line with identified needs.
• Responding to targeted areas of work on a city-wide basis.
• Alongside the Service Lead, develop and deliver communications and engagement plans.
• Engaging with the citywide Early Help network, coordinated by BVSC, including regular attendance at meetings, as appropriate.

About the role

You’ll be part of the charity’s in-house Creative team and will work closely with teams across the charity to bring our visual content to life through print and digital design.

You’ll take briefs to deliver concepts and layouts in a variety of formats based on audience insight and fresh creative ideas. You’ll make sure all your design work brings our brand to life and reveals the reality of living with Parkinson’s, all while being part of an exciting, highly motivated creative team.

What you’ll do

• Design standout print and digital content from concept to completion, delivering against a clear brief and goals
• Support the Creative team’s aim in delivering a strong visual identity, which considers the needs of people with Parkinson’s and brings our brand to life
• Manage multiple design projects to deliver concepts and layouts in a variety of formats e.g., leaflets, booklets, magazines, newsletters
• Support the creative development and expression of the brand identity through high-impact design
• Work closely with the Studio Manager to ensure all assigned projects are delivered on time, within budget and meet clear goals

 What you’ll bring

• BA level design qualification or equivalent experience (c. 4 years) of delivering hands-on design across print and digital channels in line with brand guidelines
• Proven professional design experience either working inhouse or agency
• Experience of Adobe CC software packages, particularly fluent in: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, experience of Canva and After Effects is desirable
• A motivated, proactive, and engaging style and ability to juggle multiple projects at one time

This role is for someone who can support the Finance Systems Manager and Finance Systems Analyst to provide robust, reliable finance systems and applications for use by the organisation, ensuring the security and integrity of all financial data held. This role contributes to the Finance Systems Team vision to support and encourage an environment of continuous improvement. You will be responsible for routine tasks and the first point of contact in the team for non-Finance users’ support queries.

The Responsibilities

• Process regular Supplier updates following the completion of the Supplier Engagement Process
• Process regular Project and Cost Centre updates following the completion of the Project Maker App
• Produce Supplier reports to the teams for their action
• Process regular updates to the financial software (Dimensions) for the Financial Controllers (referred to as Mtab updates) and linking to the Power Apps for each Entity
• Checking, refreshing and syncing App Libraries – Checking that automated scripts have run and initiating others that are not covered by automation or other routine tasks
• Data cleansing associated with the above processes and other datasets
• Monitoring and triaging user support requests
• Diagnosing user support requests, allocating them to correct tasks and monitoring progress where needed.

About You

You will need to have the following skills and experience:

• Minimum of 2 years experience in providing high-level administration and support.

Key responsibilities are:
Corporate Fundraising

• Support corporate fundraising by completing due diligences on potential partners (you will be trained how to do this), organising corporate visits, volunteering days, supporting corporate fundraising events, keeping corporate partners up to date with our news etc and organising meetings.

Trusts and Foundations

• Support trusts and foundations fundraising by supporting on funder research (again you will be fully trained how to do this) and contributing to a constant pipeline of potential funders for the team to approach.

Events

•  Support the team by recording and sending fundraising materials to those raising money for us through events and challenge event.

General

• To be the first point of contact for all fundraising enquiries that come in by telephone, email, and post.
• Supporting other activities in the fundraising team when needed, sending out materials to fundraisers and supporting logistics, diary management and support the organisation and delivery of meetings and events when needed.
• Attend meetings and take concise and accurate minutes.
• Support the Head of Fundraising and Business Development to produce trackers and spreadsheets which help to measure the team’s performance and results. This includes ensuring income is allocated correct from third party platforms and working closely with the Finance Team to ensure that we can report fundraising results and forecast accurately and in a timely way.
• Support with stock control and ordering for our material assistance project, LifeSupply which also forms part of the department.
• Support all income generation activity with the collation of information from other departments, external organisations or though research.
• Other general fundraising and administration duties, as and when required to ensure the smooth running of the department including assisting in other team projects when they arise. 
• Undertake other tasks and duties as may be reasonable which will contribute to the overall success of the Fundraising and Business Development team or the charity’s business objectives.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Male Advocate working in our Male safe- houses based in Bolton. In this role you will be supporting Survivors of Modern day Slavery. In this role you’ll casework service users living within our Safe-house. This role includes providing service users with emotional and practical support; advocating on their behalf, communicating with other organisations including but not limited to health professionals, legal representation and the Home office.  There is an occupational requirement for the applicant to be male. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Case working service users identified as PVOHT (Potential Victims of Human Trafficking).
• Arranging and attending appointments for service users
• Regular feedback and review meetings with Accommodation Coordinator.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Retail Volunteering Manager covering the North of England to join and support our Retail directorate for a 12 month FTC to deliver the local and national volunteering strategy across British Heart Foundation (BHF).

As our Retail Volunteering Manager, you’ll work alongside our Regional and Area Managers to deliver BHF’s volunteering strategy. You'll support our retail team in all aspects of volunteer recruitment and management to drive our volunteer numbers across our retail estate.
 
You’ll work alongside a dynamic, collaborative team of Retail Volunteering Managers, and will work closely with key stakeholders to grow volunteer participation in your patch and maximise the use of our digital volunteering platform, MyVolunteer.
 
Working arrangements

Please note that this role will cover Yorkshire & the North East of England. You'll need to have a full UK driving license and live within the geographical area of your remit. There will be a considerable amount of travel and some overnight stays.
