At the Poppy Factory, we help armed forces veterans with health conditions to find meaningful and sustainable employment after service. This often means overcoming significant barrier to employment. Our aim is to empower veterans, help them to recognise their unique skills and give them the confidence to move forwards in their career.
As an Employment Consultant, you will be assisting veterans across South Wales back into work. Based at your home, but with extensive travel, you will help with application materials, overcome challenges, and connect with employers. You will also work alongside professionals in other services such as health or welfare to ensure that the veterans have access to all the support they need to overcome barriers to gain and retain employment.

Men's Minds Matter brings psychological clinical expertise and lived experience to suicide prevention and intervention. In 2021, we launched the MMM model of psychological entrapment and suicidal crises (PESC-M), which now underpins everything we do. Your role
This is a very special role to provide holistic health and wellbeing of those who visit our open drop-in at the Vineyard Community Centre in Richmond. To us, they are our guests, not 'clients', 'patients' or users'.
This will include personal health screening, and holistic health support; also to provide health education, and liaison with outside agencies and local surgery. Many of our guests have multiple and complex needs involving, mental health, drug/alcohol dependency and homelessness.

About the role

Our vision and mission have never been more relevant. Across the UK governments are pledging investment and action on walking and cycling with an increasing demand for high quality infrastructure. As part of this we are keen to further develop the National Cycle Network as a network for nature, as well as people. To help achieve this Sustrans produced a Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP) in October 2023.
As the Senior Ecologist you will advise staff on all ecological aspects of Sustrans work across the north of England, as well as parts of Scotland and Wales (as required).
In collaboration with colleagues and partners across a wide range of disciplines, you will undertake field surveys, manage ecological and arboricultural sub-consultants, prepare reports to support planning applications and use your expertise to help shape the design of new walking and cycling paths so that they benefit people and wildlife.
Candidates should be based within the geographical area with regular travel expected to either hub base in Manchester or Leeds.
About you
You should be a skilled ecologist with significant experience in relevant previous roles and a higher-level vocational qualification, or degree in ecology or associated subject.
Your expertise will help to embed best ecological practice across the charity and shape our approach to delivering biodiversity improvement as part of route management and construction activity across the UK, with an emphasis on projects in our Northern region.
As an excellent communicator, you will have good verbal and written communications skills demonstrable in ability to communicate effectively to a range of different audiences. You will also be skilled in ecological report writing including reviewing and interpreting third party reports.

We are seeking a motivated, compassionate and engaging training lead for our parent and volunteer training programs. The training lead for parents and volunteers will lead on the design, development and delivery of a program of training support for parents impacted by Child Sexual Abuse and will support with the delivery of the training for new We Stand volunteers.
Role Description
To plan, develop and deliver parent training and workshops for protective parents and carers whose
children have been sexually abused; to support parents and carers to understand and process the impacts of child sexual abuse and learn strategies for supporting their children after abuse together with those who share similar experiences. To work collaboratively with We Stand colleagues, to provide support that is accessible, appropriate, timely and tailored to suit the needs of individual clients.
To contribute to the recruitment and selection of We Stand volunteers including student therapists on placement and helpline volunteers. To lead on the delivery of induction and training for all new volunteers and ensure that they are adequately prepared and supported to begin their placement with We Stand.
Parent Training:
Parent training and workshops are designed to support parents following a disclosure of CSA. The training focuses on providing parents and carers with the useful information and strategies they need to manage and support their child or young person’s journey of recovery. Via 1:1 or group sessions, parents gain the knowledge they need to help them support their child and regain confidence in themselves.

Job Purpose
- Lead training and development for all colleagues (Staff and Volunteers) and guide people through the Adviser Learning Programme (ALP)
- Drive our recruitment and retention strategy for volunteers
- Develop and deliver our Training and Development Plan
This pivotal role will be responsible for the selection, training and deployment of our volunteers across all service areas. A key focus will be to facilitate effective training pathways for paid staff and volunteers. You will be required to design and deliver group training sessions, and monitor trainee progress and development through structured training programmes.

CYP Psychotherapist/Counsellor
Based in Hendon
Salary – £28,719.14 FTE (only term time – 45 weeks per year) or £33,186.56 FTE (full year – 52 weeks per year)
Norwood are looking for a CYP Psychotherapist/Counsellor to provide therapeutic support to children/young people exhibiting emotional and/or behavioural problems or who are at risk of developing such problems.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To provide individual therapy/counselling sessions, supporting pupils where there are concerns about their emotional wellbeing. Group interventions may also be delivered, depending on the needs of the centre/school.
- To manage your own case load, taking referrals from the team senior or school Senco. To assist in assessing children’s needs and advise parents and/or staff on strategies to support children experiencing difficulties. To work with other Norwood services to support vulnerable families.
- To demonstrate a range of therapeutic skills/techniques in order to work creatively and effectively with children/young people.
- To undertake consultations with parents including review meetings.
- To develop effective working relationships with teachers and support staff as well as parents/carers and other professionals. This may include attending relevant staff meetings and consultations as necessary (if the work is in school).
- To undertake clinical supervision in accordance with BACP guidelines and participate in regular line management meetings.
- To attend continuing professional development training as required.
- To maintain an up-to-date knowledge of child protection issues and put this into practice, attending training as required.
- To keep accurate client records and provide statistical/ monitoring information.
- Write reports as required.
- To liaise with and support referrals to other relevant bodies, such as local authority, health visitors, social care, CAMHS, and other agencies when appropriate.
- To attend case conferences / planning/strategy/pastoral support meetings when appropriate and provide written reports as required.
- To maintain an up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding legislation and guidance and put this into practice.
- Maintain confidentiality whilst promoting the safety and welfare of the child, working within professional ethical frameworks and Norwood’s policy.
- To maintain registration and membership of BACP, BAPT, BADth or equivalent and to work within the ethical guidelines of the relevant professional body.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Hours – 12hrs / 1.5 days per week, Mondays – hours flexible (8 hours + 30 mins unpaid break) & Wednesdays 9am-1pm
- 1-year fixed term contract
