The Role

As the Deputy Team Leader (Court Services), working alongside Team Leaders you will be responsible for the delivery of the Witness Service within your court/s. 

You will share responsibility for the effective coordination and development of volunteers who support witnesses in their journey through the criminal justice system.

You willbe responsible for general service administrative tasks within the courts, as well as inputting service data.

Our Young Person’s Crisis Service offers a safe, welcoming, and non-judgmental environment outside of normal school hours for those aged 14 – 17 who feel in mental distress or crisis.

About the Role

The Youth Mental Health Worker will support young people aged 14-18 to deescalate crisis and improve their mental health and wellbeing, through focussed 1:1s and structured crisis interventions. The role will involve assessing needs and offering one-to-one support to service users to enable them to begin the process of improving their mental health and well-being and to provide clarity on services and pathways available in the area. About the Role

The post holder will also be responsible for the development of pathways which enables young people to access services offered by the Voluntary and Community sector.

Job description

 Mind in Tower Hamlets, Newham and Redbridge are working in partnership with Stepney and Wapping Primary Care Network’s Neighbourhood Team to support the Transformation of Mental Health Services across Tower Hamlets.

Tower Hamlets is one of the pilot Boroughs to implement the Community Mental Health Framework which aim is to redesign the offer to support people with serious mental illness (SMI) to not just get back on track with their lives but to be happier and more fulfilled.

The programme is grounded in a population health approach to SMI, delivered through and with Primary Care Networks in Tower Hamlets, with an ambitious vision to support more patients closer to home and reduce the stigma and fragmentation in existing services.

Purpose of the role

 The Community Connector will be responsible for working within the Neighbourhood Team within Stepney and Wapping PCN to ensure that people with SMI are able to live fulfilled lives through offering of one-to-one support to set goals towards their aspirations, needs and to offer hope and choice using a range of skill, knowledge and tools to achieve this. The community connector is seen as valuable asset to our neighbourhoods and act us a local expert, gathering and sharing information about local services.

The post holder will work collaborative and in partnership with the Multi-Disciplinary Teams and local Services and Community Groups to create pathways of support for people and to will act as the ‘glue’, linking people in with experts and local assets, and undertaking support work in partnership with external stakeholders to complement their interventions. We have an opportunity to work for our Adult Carers Team as an Adult Carers Support Advisor. You will provide emotional and practical support to Adult Carers in the London Borough of Bromley, aligned and working closely with the integrated care networks.

• To offer emotional and practical support to build resilience for carers on a one-to one basis.
• To provide support face to face, over the phone and in group settings.
• To develop and run local support groups.
• To actively target those carers facing multiple issues, most likely to fall into crisis
• To support carers to access and where appropriate complete Carer’s Assessments
• To build and maintain a network of contacts with local service providers
• To organise and participate in training events for carers and professionals.
• To organise and participate in events for carers and or to raise awareness of carers needs, such as but not limited to Carers Week and Carers Rights Day
• To run an active caseload within the KPI requirements of the Bromley Well contract.
• To input cases on to the Charity log system accurately
• To ensure that services are accessible to carers.
• To participate in the provision of news and the production of the Carers newsletter
• To collaborate with other Bromley Well partners, including Mencap/MIND etc. to ensure effective appropriate referral pathways for quality service provision.
• To abide by and take part in the development and review of policy and procedure for the Carers pathway.
• At all times to maintain the professional integrity and reputation of the Charity and represent their main interests in any dealings with other bodies, groups and individuals.
• Attend staff meetings, supervision and organisational events as required.
• Collect case studies to help demonstrate AGE UK Bromley and Greenwich’s Adult Carers Support service’s impact.
• To undertake any other duties commensurate with the purpose and remit of the post.
• Undertake out of hours and weekend work as the role requires for which TOIL will be granted

VCSE Research & Insight Worker

In October 2022 Salford City Council commissioned Salford CVS to undertake research into the strengths of the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector as part of their Joint Needs and Strengths Assessment.

Every three years since 2008, Salford CVS leads on State of the VCSE Sector research in Salford and also across Greater Manchester. Working with other local infrastructure organisations, we aim to provide a comprehensive overview of the VCSE sector. Our last research report was published in 2021 and we have started planning for the research to be conducted this year.

In August 2023 we further developed our VCSE sector research and insight work with the commencement of our Salford 99 longitudinal study. This research project is designed to understand the issues affecting the VCSE sector in Salford and aims to track 99 VCSE organisations every six months for a three-year period, so that we gain ‘live’ insight in between our three-yearly State of the VCSE sector large research project. Alongside this work we conduct a Pulse Check survey with a variety of VCSE organisations to get a snapshot of what is changing for them each quarter.

This exciting VCS Research and Insight role involves a combination of VCSE engagement and insight work across Salford.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience of research, data collection, analysis and excellent report-writing skills
• Will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment within a team of dedicated, friendly people who believe in making a difference
• Has fantastic organisational skills – able to multitask and work effectively in a busy team environment

The aim of the post is to work alongside the Parent Peer Advocate to improve and enhance the West Glamorgan regional advocacy network by creating a new form of peer advocacy and peer support for parents who are going through the child protection process, statutory assessment and/or the looked after children system within the Neath, Port Talbot and Swansea area.

Main Duties

⦁ To work as part of a team working with parents who are going through the child protection process, statutory assessment and/or the looked after children system within the Neath, Port Talbot and Swansea area.

⦁ Provide support, to parents which may include accompanying clients to a range of meetings, or support in writing letter/telephone calls to represent and/or negotiate on their behalf as requested.

⦁ Providing clients with information, resources and signposting to other organisations/agencies and when necessary making onward referrals. 

⦁ Provide befriending and mentoring support based on a supportive working relationship with parents within a professional remit.

⦁ Motivating and/ or encouraging parents to achieve relevant goals and outcomes. Help to raise the confidence and self-esteem of the parent.

The Wingfield Resource Centre currently provides support for individuals experiencing mental health crisis or who require preventative support. We operate 365 days a year from 6pm to 11pm.

We know that recovery can look and feel very different to each and every one of us. But we also know that if we provide the right support, at the right time, we can inspire recovery nationwide and that recovery is possible for everyone. That’s where you come in.

Responsible for helping and inspiring the people who use our services to maintain their tenancy and independence in the community, we’ll rely on you to work with them to come up with a personal support plan that will see them achieve their goals and aspirations. Whether it’s developing their domestic and finance management skills or accessing work, leisure or educational opportunities, one thing’s for sure ‐ you will have every chance to shine.

No relevant experience is required as full training will be provided, although candidates with an understanding of mental health issues and/or lived experience would be welcomed. More important is your caring and compassionate nature and empathy and enthusiasm for helping others. Richmond Fellowship is part of Recovery Focus, a national group of charities highly experienced in providing specialist support services to individuals and families living with the effects of mental ill health, drug and alcohol use, gambling and domestic violence.
