The Operations Manager is a new leadership position that will play a pivotal role in the delivery of FFLAG’s operations which span online, offline, and local group support for parents and carers of LGBT+ loved ones. We also want you to bring experience of fundraising to help ensure we stay financially secure for the long term.

About FFLAG

FFLAG is a national voluntary organisation and registered charity and is the UK’s longest established parent support charity in the LGBT+ sector. Our history began in the grassroots parent helplines of the 1960s, grew through the 1980’s and 90’s as we supported anxious parents and fought against the discrimination of Section 28, becoming a formally registered charity in 2000.

Our work sounds simple, but it is life changing. We help parents and families understand, accept and support their LGBT+ family members with love and pride.

We offer a range of support options spanning 121 online and helpline support services, to a UK-wide monthly group Zoom meeting and face to face local groups. We also have an extensive collection of online resources and guides.  We attend as many Pride events as we can and our work supports thousands of families every year. This support is provided by an active base of FFLAG volunteers who are parents of LGBT+ children themselves, supported by other volunteers and allies. 

In addition to our support work, FFLAG advocates for the full human and civil rights of LGBT+ individuals. FFLAG speaks out and acts to defend and enhance those human and civil rights. 

What this job is all about

Simply put, as Operations Manager you will ensure the charity's activities are effective, sustainable, and aligned with our mission to support families with LGBT+ members

Reporting directly to the Chair, working closely with the Board of Trustees and supported by a part-time Volunteer Engagement & Events Coordinator you will:

• Lead and supervise the daily operational functions, ensuring smooth and compliant delivery of services.
• Lead fundraising activities, including grant applications, donor stewardship, and partnership development.
• Manage and support staff and volunteers, nurturing a positive, inclusive, and collaborative culture.
• Support the Trustees to ensure compliance with all relevant UK charity legislation and regulatory requirements (e.g., Charity Commission, safeguarding, risk management, data protection).
• Collaborate with the Chair and Board of Trustees to develop and implement strategic plans, with clear KPIs and measurable outcomes.

What else might you be involved in?

Because this is a new role we expect to learn together about what additional activities you can support us with beyond the key priorities mentioned above.  This could include helping us to: 

• Monitor and report on operational performance, identifying opportunities for innovation and growth.
• Oversee financial management including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, ensuring resources are used efficiently and transparently.
• Oversee communications and stakeholder engagement, including public relations, digital presence including website and social media, and community outreach.
• Act as an ambassador for FFLAG at events, forums, and in collaborative partnerships.

What are the skills and attributes you will need to be successful?

As the most senior employed position in the charity, we need an experienced operational leader that can grow with us. You will be self-motivated and enjoy working independently without the need for close supervision.  

In terms of specific areas of skill or experience we are looking for people who can demonstrate previous experience of:

• Operational Leadership: Demonstrable experience in a senior operations role, ideally within the charity or voluntary sector.
• Fundraising: Experience supporting or leading fundraising campaigns and developing income streams.
• Governance: Knowledge of UK charity governance and regulatory compliance.
• People Management: Confident in leading, motivating, and developing a small team and volunteers.
• Commitment to Inclusion: Passionate about equality, diversity, and supporting the LGBT+ community and their families.

As an experienced leader we would also expect you to have:

• Financial Acumen: Proven ability to manage charity finances, budgets, and reporting processes.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to represent the organisation externally.
• Strategic Thinking: Able to translate vision into actionable plans and execute effectively.
• Problem Solving: Resourceful, adaptable, and solution-oriented approach to challenges.
• Digital Skills: Comfortable with digital tools and platforms, social media, and remote/hybrid work practices.

We are recruiting for an Out of School Childcare Leader to join our Out of School Childcare team. The role is for a Fixed Term Contract until July 2026.

You will be responsible for leading and delivering a programme of Ofsted registered Breakfast and After School Clubs, offering a range of free play opportunities as well as structured programmes. The post holder will lead a team of playworkers and volunteers, to ensure that the service provided is of high quality and appropriate for the varying children who attend.

This role requires someone with Level 2/3 qualification in childcare, play work or equivalent or be willing to undertake this level of training upon employment.

You must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience of working in a childcare setting.

Working Hours: 25 hours per week, Monday-Friday 7.15am to 9am and 2.45pm to 6pm Term time only with optional role in holidays.

Applications can be considered as a mixture of a job share for doing Breakfast and After School Clubs or just doing Breakfast Club only or Afterschool Club only.

Key responsibilities:

·To lead the delivery of St Joseph’s Breakfast and After School Club. 

·To work with individual children to offer a range of free play opportunities, as well as a structured programme of social, play and leisure activities to the varying ages and needs of the children attending the service

·To build trusting relationships with parents and families, checking that we have the correct information about the children that attend and ensuring that children are collected by authorised people only.

·To ensure that parents and carers are kept informed of incidents/accidents or other issues relating to their children. 

·To work with the Out of School Childcare team to help promote the YMCA schemes so that attendance figures reach agreed targets in line with budgets. This includes sending weekly photos of children with the appropriate consent to the team. 

·To ensure that all practices within the setting adhere to the Safeguarding Children policy, as well as meeting OFSTED requirements, so that the service offered is of a safe and high standard. 

·To be responsible for the health and safety of children attending all sessions, including carrying out risk assessments and ensuring risk assessment checklists are completed daily. 

·To ensure that resources are well looked after, and to inform the OOSC Senior Coordinator if extra resources are required. 

·To ensure that appropriate care plans and risk assessments are carried out for children with additional needs and for those on the EYFS register.

·Where necessary, to administer First Aid for children who have had an accident, as well as medication for children with health issues, ensuring appropriate training has been completed beforehand. 

·To ensure that all children and young people are made to feel valued and enabled to develop and improve self-esteem self-confidence and positive experiences. 

·To lead a team of playworkers and volunteers, and to ensure that the service provided is of high quality and appropriate for the varying children who attend. 

·When the OSCC Senior Coordinator is not available, to act as the responsible person in charge of the setting. 

·To be flexible in order to meet the needs of service, including when required also working at other Y-Kids Afterschool clubs to help provide cover.

·Undertake any other duties and responsibilities reasonably requested by the OOSC Senior Coordinator and/or Childcare and children’s activities Senior Manager.

Job Summary:

This involves assessing, allocating and supporting our tenants on their journey with Stay and assisting successful move on. Teamwork is also a key part of this role to work alongside the wider housing team towards team and organisational objectives.

Role Specific Responsibilities:

· Deliver pro-active engagement with tenants to increase the potential for income collection by education, support and other interventions with customers as appropriate and in line with Stay’s policies.

· Provide advice to tenants on tenant and landlord roles and responsibilities in accordance with tenancy/licence conditions in face-to-face sessions or via the telephone/email/letter/text.

· Advice and guidance on issues such as tenancies at risk, whether through rent arrears, anti-social behaviour, property maintenance, unemployment, mental health issues and finance.

· Identify any/all factors that may be contributing to rent arrears: money mismanagement, budgeting issues etc.

· Give advice and assistance with housing problems including information on housing options.

· Take responsibility for a designated caseload of tenants requiring housing support including the identification of prospective tenants. Assist new tenants, particularly vulnerable and young tenants to set up and maintain a tenancy and be able to access support needed. Together with the customer draw up a personal housing plan.

· Assist tenants with security and safety matters within their home including door/window security, advice regarding household appliances and controls for heating, providing details of the repairs service and how to report and arrange repairs.

· Actively work with the tenants and colleagues around issues placing the tenancy at risk including breaches of the tenancy agreement: arrears, harassment, nuisance and other disputes when required.

· Build effective relationships with external agencies (both statutory and voluntary) and maintain a knowledge base of these to signpost customers as required.  Share information, where appropriate and in line with data protection and confidentiality, to meet the needs of the tenants.

· Ensure the maximisation of rent collection in line with targets and reduce rent arrears on a continuing basis through the effective enforcement of the rent arrears policy, procedure and systems working alongside the rents officer.

· Work in a performance target-led environment and have a commitment to attaining those targets.

· Prepare timely and accurate reports.

· Identify and implement good administrative practices and procedures.

· Maximise income collection by providing advice on welfare benefits and make referrals to specialist services and agencies where appropriate.

· Maintain up to date knowledge of best practice in respect of all relevant administrative, legal and financial procedures.

· Respond promptly and effectively to enquiries or complaints with regards to rent or associated housing matters in accordance with Stay’s policies.

· Maintain appropriate and accurate records to comply with statutory and service-wide reporting requirements. Proactively monitor and report to the Housing Team Leader in respect of service delivery, performance indicators and targets.

· Maintain up to date knowledge of housing management practice and all relevant Stay and Housing Team procedures in to ensure the processes, systems, policies and procedures are adhered to and to contribute to the development of any reviews.

· Integrate tenant care into working practices through a ‘Tenant First’ approach, ensuring tenants are treated with respect and courtesy and experience a ‘seamless’ service. Adhere to Stay’s standards of tenant care in respect of answering correspondence, telephones and complaints.

· Maximise the use of information and communications technology to support the service and deliver efficiency improvements. Maintain up to date knowledge of systems and applications.

· Work collaboratively with the referral and assessments officer to evaluate applicants, conduct thorough needs and risk assessments, and perform reference checks before extending accommodation offers.

· Carry out an appropriate induction to the allocated Stay property once an offer has been made to an applicant.

· Liaise with The Rent Officer and Housing Benefit to ensure the customer’s account is active and the customer is aware of their responsibility of providing any information to ensure the housing benefit is paid and reduce all arrears.

· Liaise with Housing Benefit, Employment Services, Social Services, Probation Services and other authorities as necessary in relation to housing management.

· Ensure that tenants are compliant with and kept fully informed and consulted on matters affecting their Licence or Tenancy Agreements and they understand their rights and responsibilities: respecting other tenants, non-use of drugs etc.

· Ensure incidents/Safeguarding are fully reported and investigated and act to resolve the problem or take holding action until a permanent solution is found.

· Work with the Voids and Maintenance Team to undertake regular visits to the housing properties to inspect the accommodation and get customer feedback to ensure that repairs and cleaning of the buildings are carried out promptly to a high standard and that safety and security is maintained.

· Adhere to Stay’s Safeguarding Policies and take responsibility for making Safeguarding referrals to the relevant services and report any concerns to Stay’s Designated Safeguarding Officers.

· To address issues of social isolation and exclusion, facilitating client’s involvement in the community.

· To deliver person centred support through one-to-one sessions, group work and ad-hoc support.

· To record all contacts with tenants appropriately and in line with Stay’s policies and procedures and maintaining all relevant files and recording systems, ensuring information is updated.

· To produce appropriate written reports in a variety of formats to meet the requirements of managers, service providers and board of trustees.

· To assist tenants in acquiring the budgeting and social skills necessary to sustain accommodation effectively.

· To, where customers are at risk of eviction, provide advice and support and where necessary help them to seek legal advice.

NAPAC (the National Association for People Abused in Childhood) is entering an important period of growth. Our income sources are diversifying, our public profile is rising and our operations are becoming more complex. With new earned income streams, additional grant funding, VAT considerations and more detailed Board reporting, we are now strengthening our finance function to ensure accuracy, clarity and confidence in all financial matters.

We are therefore seeking a freelance finance professional to provide part-time, ongoing operational finance support. The role involves managing our monthly financial bookkeeping and reporting functions, working closely with our Chief Operating Officer and wider team. Our current provider will continue to handle payroll and year-end audit preparation, but we are moving our day-to-day finance support to this new model.

We are looking for a proactive, highly competent individual who can understand the way NAPAC works and provide accurate, timely and thoughtful financial support. This is a key role that underpins our success and gives confidence to the team, trustees, funders and external stakeholders.

Scope of Work

The successful individual will be responsible for:

• Maintaining accurate financial records in Xero, including all necessary transactional data entry (such as inputting and coding income, expenses, invoices and credit notes), reconciling bank and PayPal accounts and preparing monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet and cashflow reports).
• Supporting monthly reporting cycles for internal governance (Income Generation Subcommittee and full Board).
• Liaising with our team to ensure invoices are raised, chased and coded accurately.
• Managing grant income allocations and restricted funds tracking in line with funder requirements.
• Supporting our team with financial queries, budget phasing and grant planning.
• Advising on Xero housekeeping (e.g. Chart of Accounts simplification, tracking codes).
• Advising on VAT issues, including preparation for registration if required (though this may be handled separately with legal input).
• Supporting periodic financial forecasting and budgeting alongside the CEO and Chief Operating Officer.
• Attending virtual meetings as required (Income Generation Subcommittee monthly; quarterly Board meetings and ad hoc meetings with staff).
• Ensuring a smooth handover and transition from the current provider.

Occasional projects may include:

• A full review and restructuring of our Chart of Accounts.
• Retrospective re-coding of entries for YTD accuracy and reporting.
• Supporting audit/year-end examination preparations (collaborating with TC-Group as our year-end auditor).

Candidate Profile

We are looking for someone who:

• Has strong experience in operational charity finance or with social enterprises.
• Has demonstrable experience of restructuring a Chart of Accounts within finance systems.
• Holds or is training towards a recognised accounting qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or who can demonstrate equivalent experience in operational finance roles, particularly where they have led on financial reporting, forecasting and working within Xero-led systems.
• Has excellent working knowledge of Xero and related finance systems.
• Understands the operational pressures faced by small to medium-sized charities.
• Can lucidly explain financial information for colleagues with varied levels of financial literacy.
• Is detail-oriented, reliable and a clear communicator.

Time Commitment and Working Style

The expected time commitment is approximately three-six days per month, depending on workload and reporting periods. We anticipate this may be higher in the first two-three months to support onboarding, systems review and transition from our existing provider. We are open to flexibility and working arrangements.

This role will primarily be delivered remotely, but requires in-person attendance at NAPAC's London office at least once per month. The successful provider must be available during UK business hours (09:00-17:00) to attend scheduled meetings as needed both via Teams online and in-person.

A laptop will not be provided, but full IT onboarding and access to relevant systems (e.g. Xero, Teams, secure file-sharing platforms) will be arranged, along with any required security protocols. Payment will be on a day-rate basis, agreed in advance.

Working flexibly across outreach and community settings, you will focus on building trusting relationships with women who may be disengaged from or distrustful of services, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are addressed holistically.

You will be based primarily at Folkestone Probation Office, with up to two days per week spent providing outreach support in the community. This position involves close collaboration with the Folkestone Women's Pod to identify women who require intensive support.

A car may be desirable for this role, though not essential.

• 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays, rising to 29 days after two years of service and to 30 days after three years of service. This entitlement is pro rata for part-time employees. This entitlement excludes bank holidays.

The role:

A fantastic new opportunity has arisen at the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability for an ambitious and strategic Head of Fundraising to lead and expand the RHN’s income generation and manage and drive a high performing team.

The Head of Fundraising will be responsible for generating income from all fundraising income streams: Community, Events, Corporate, Trusts and Foundations, Legacy and Direct Mail (Donor Development). They will oversee all aspects of fundraising, including developing and implementing the Fundraising Strategy, managing key donor relationships, driving forward any capital appeals and leading a team of fundraising professionals.

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for a passionate, positive and highly experienced individual with a proven track record in senior fundraising roles within the charity sector and experience of successful income generation.  Candidates must be skilled on donor stewardship and stakeholder engagement, as well as being a confident and engaging public speaker.  Knowledge of fundraising standards and best practice are essential.

Main objectives of the role:

• Establish fundraising priorities and set fundraising goals in line with the wider organisational strategy
• Achieve the fundraising target and KPIs
• Lead on the organisation of a full calendar of fundraising events and activity and ensure applications are made in a timely manner
• Engage with Fellows, Trustees and volunteers to ensure wider RHN engagement
• Engage with internal teams to ensure the timely promotion of events, activities and to ensure engagement
• Work with clinical service teams particularly those areas fully funded by fundraising, to provide case studies and outcome reports
• To work closely with the Communications team to fully utilise social media and the RHN website for all fundraising events and activities.
• Act as the primary contact for volunteer committees and external partners as necessary

We are happy to consider applicants who are looking to work part-time for a minimum of 3 days a week. 

Candidates must be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends for events.

The Organisation

The Royal Parks (TRP) is a charity created in March 2017. We manage over 5,000 acres of diverse parkland, rare habitats and historic buildings and monuments in eight Royal Parks across London. The Role

As a Casual Learning Officer, you will support the delivery of our outdoor learning programmes.

Working alongside our inspiring Learning Team, you’ll plan and deliver school sessions and other activities to visitors of all ages, abilities and backgrounds, providing inclusive, fun and high-quality experiences across nature, heritage and wellbeing. You’ll have the opportunity to build varied experience in a range of informal settings, such as drop-in events, festivals and out in the parks’ beautiful habitats.

You may also be offered opportunities to undertake a range of administrative and customer support duties, including responding to enquiries from the public, uploading event information online and processing booking transfer and cancellation requests.

About You

To be considered as a Casual Learning Officer, you will need:

• Proven experience delivering outdoor environmental education to school groups
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to deliver sessions with energy and enthusiasm to diverse audiences
• In depth knowledge of ecology, natural heritage and outdoor learning
• Strong organisational skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills
