The Role 
 
As Deputy Shop Manager at our Ripon Shop you will manage the day-to-day operation of the shop in the absence of the Shop Manager, including managing a team of volunteers, ensuring accurate accounting and handling of assets, delivering high standards of customer service, and adhering to all charity policies and procedures. You will lead by example and ensure that volunteers, supporters, donors, and customers understand how their contributions are making a difference to the lives of people in Yorkshire and beyond. 

Specifically, you will: 

• Play an active part in running our shop in Ripon, supporting the Shop Manager in implementing processes and ways of working.

• Provide cover for days off, holidays and sickness as required, with possible occasional travel to other shops to provide support if needed by the charity. 

• Support the Shop Manager to maximise the income and profit of the shop through active stock management, replenishment, and rotation. 

• Manage a team of well-trained volunteers in the absence of the Shop Manager and take every effort to create a positive retail environment. 

• Ensure there are sufficient volunteers to support the effective operation of the shop during all opening hours. 

• Support the Shop Manager to ensure the shop is presented to the highest standards with attractive visual merchandising and attractive window displays. 

• Support the Shop Manager to ensure that all charity policies, shop standards and operating procedures are communicated effectively to all volunteers and are maintained and followed in a consistent manner. 

• Support the Shop Manager to ensure accurate accounting and handling of assets (items donated and money received). 

• Support the Shop Manager to ensure accurate record keeping of items donated and the amount paid for each item for Gift Aid tax reclaim purposes. 

• Create a welcoming professional atmosphere and deliver high standards of customer service for all customers and supporters. 

 
About You 

To be considered for this role, you will need: 

• To ideally be educated to GCSE level or equivalent but not essential.

• Experience of managing people/volunteers including recruitment and development.

We're looking for an Individual Giving Manager who will lead the charity’s individual giving programme during an exciting period of growth. Our multi-faith chaplains make a difference to the lives of young people by providing a space to be heard, to have fun and to eat together. Chaplains offer non-judgemental support to residents (aged 16-25 years) around their spiritual, emotional and social wellbeing. They are there for people of all faiths, no faith, and for those exploring faith, belief and spirituality.

Fundamental to our chaplaincy service are our teams of highly committed volunteer chaplains who are passionate about supporting young people.

We have an exciting opportunity to be part of something meaningful as our new Chaplain, coordinating our Chaplaincy Service in Brighton and Hove.

In this role, you will be responsible for recruiting, inducting, and supervising a group of up to 20 volunteer multi-faith chaplains who help deliver regular weekly chaplaincy sessions in our supported accommodation services.

Chaplaincy sessions are usually run in the evenings and involve the preparation of a shared meal. You will, on occasion, also work one to one with some of our residents. The role also has an important outreach function to develop relationships with Christian and other faith/belief communities across Brighton and Hove so that those communities can support and participate in our work, including fundraising.

Key responsibilities:

• Coordinate chaplaincies at our supported accommodation services in Brighton and Hove
• Attend and actively participate in evening chaplaincy sessions (at least bi-weekly)
• Recruit, train, and support new volunteer chaplains from multiple faiths

About the role

The Senior Adviser post is a new role to increase capacity within our small and friendly Advice and Information Team. The Senior Adviser will be responsible for delivering high quality, evidence-based, advice and information by email and phone to Coram BAAF members. Our enquirers are primarily social workers at all levels including senior managers, along with associated professionals in health, legal and other areas of children’s social care.

The role will also support our Outbound Permanence Service which provides specialist advice and resources for local authorities across the UK seeking to place a looked after child with relatives overseas, and also offers training and consultancy. The post holder will, once familiar, have the opportunity to participate in Outbound training delivery.

Background 

The Minster Centre is a registered charity based in Queens Park, London NW6 that trains psychotherapists and counsellors. As an accredited higher education organisation, we provide in-person and online courses throughout the week and weekend. The Minster Centre also provides a psychotherapy and counselling service to the local community and has a number of rooms that are hired out for therapy, training, and events.

Summary of the job

The Receptionist is a critical and central role at The Minster Centre, providing a welcoming service to students, room hirers, therapy clients and staff members that is efficient and aligned with The Minster Centre’s Ethos. The Reception Team provides first-line support to tutors and students as well as undertakes administrative duties crucial to the running of the Centre. They also provide support to other staff members where appropriate. The hours are 23 hours per week, including Saturdays during term time.

The Minster Centre is a small, friendly organisation and the Receptionist needs to be an adaptable and flexible person who enjoys teamwork within a continuously evolving environment. The Receptionist role is varied, and you will be expected work with initiative and autonomy to respond to the needs of the Centre.

The ideal candidate will have previous administration and front of house experience to help ensure that all building users (students, room hirers and clients) are welcomed, that the building is available and set up for training and therapy services, and that the building is closed and secured at the end of the day. Furthermore, they will be organised, have excellent IT skills and knowledge and practice of using Zoom or be willing to learn. They will have the ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure. In addition, they will be able to work autonomously on various tasks and work well in a team. This is a great opportunity for someone with relevant transferable skills to develop those skills further.

Duties and responsibilities:

Reception

· Ensuring that Reception is always covered by working with the Reception Manager to organise a reception rota that covers absence, holidays, etc.

· Co-ordinating access to the building, opening and closing the building.

· Receiving visitors

· Setting the appropriate space/s up for events and assisting with special or evening events when requested (e.g. Graduation)

· Ensuring there are adequate supplies of daily cleaning materials and refreshments and organising catering for specific events

· Responding appropriately to emergencies (training will be provided)

· Answering, screening and forwarding any incoming telephone calls, and providing basic information when needed

· Managing our room booking system, including supporting our Finance team with invoicing of room hirers

· Dealing with room booking enquiries and bookings for events

· Managing petty cash

· Ordering stationary and other supplies as requested

· Dealing with customer queries or complaints politely and positively

· Keeping the reception area tidy

· Data entry tasks, or similar, in quiet periods

· Organising Open Days with the assistance of Training Admin Team

· To undertake such other duties as may be required by The Minster Centre

IT Support

· Diagnosing and resolving technology equipment issues in the training rooms (basic training can be provided). This might include but is not limited to; ensuring equipment is in working order and reporting any faults; ensuring equipment is connected correctly; amending equipment settings.

· Assisting with Zoom support for online training sessions, interviews and other meetings.

· Providing IT assistance to Tutors, including responding to basic Moodle, Zoom and Microsoft Office queries/tasks. This will include being part of an on-call rota for first line remote support.

About The Role

As our Senior Digital Campaigns Coordinator, you’ll be part of a collaborative and supportive UK Campaigns team, working at the heart of Compassion in World Farming’s mission to end factory farming. You’ll play a key role in delivering powerful digital campaigns that inspire public action and influence decision-makers across government and industry.

Your work will help to ensure our digital communications are creative, impactful, and strategically aligned, mobilising hundreds of thousands of supporters, amplifying our message across platforms, and driving real change for farm animals. From crafting compelling emails and social media content to producing multimedia assets and leading campaign delivery, you’ll be central to our campaigning success.

About You

To succeed as our part-time Senior Digital Campaigns Coordinator, you’ll need to be a confident communicator, a creative thinker, and a skilled digital storyteller. You’ll have a strong track record in digital campaigning or communications, ideally within the charity sector, with a passion for using digital tools to drive impactful social change.

You’ll be comfortable working with a range of digital platforms, including email marketing software, content management systems, and a variety social media channels. You’ll also need to be confident producing multimedia content, analysing campaign performance, and collaborating across teams. Ideally, you’ll have a genuine interest in animal welfare and environmental issues, along with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
