We are looking for a College Administrator/Receptionist to join our team on an initial 9 month MAT cover – this may extend to 12 months.

You'll provide administrative and reception support to Ambitious College, based at West Thames Campus. You'll be the first point of contact for the college, receiving visitors, telephone calls, deliveries and email. You'll meet and greet external and internal visitors, ensuring they are signed in/out according to internal processes.

You'll assist with any parent/carer communications, such as emailing/telephoning, sending out information packs or letters as needed. You'll provide administrative support for financial processes, including raising purchase orders, processing invoices and goods received.

• Experience of providing high quality administration and reception support within a fast paced /busy and pressurised environment

The role

You will have the ability to engage and work collaboratively with individuals, communities and with all stakeholders, including running group workshops and presentations. You have experience, knowledge of and/or proven ability in housing and homelessness advice and advocacy, with the ability to progress to specialist level knowledge. The Side-by-Side project supports children in care and care leavers to have the same opportunities as those who have not experienced care.

For many young people, navigating the care system and especially the transition to leaving care can be complex, isolating, and overwhelming. The Role

The successful candidate will guide and inspire the North West teams towards a future where stroke survivors and their loved ones are supported to live their best lives after stroke

Key responsibilities include:

• Relationship Manager - Contribute to service retention, development, locality income and services.
• Team Leader - Coach and lead your team, supporting them to deliver and develop.
• Contract Manager - Ensure the quality of commissioned contracts in the locality.
• Service Quality Developer - Deliver an oversight and understanding of each service in relation to resource, value, service specification, quality of delivery produced in order to support teams to identify issues and blockages and enhance service quality.
• Negotiator - Represent the organisation in a professional and authentic manner articulating the needs of stroke survivors and the value our services bring.
• System Influencer - Represent the organisation in a professional and authentic manner challenging the external health and social care systems where necessary and acting as a critical friend to improve the experience of people across the whole stroke pathway.
• Insight Gatherer and Sharer - Prepare information with leadership colleagues around organisational key messaging to take to external meetings. You will share insight from meetings externally and internally with key colleagues to shape policy and work plans.
• Connector - Communicate and share relevant information on service delivery in our locality with leadership colleagues to enable us to discuss and update our locality plan and priorities.

About You

You will have a proven record of:

• Management experience in relation to service delivery
• Experience of working in partnership with other organisations, ideally in health and social care/the NHS
• Experience of leading high performing teams with paid staff and volunteers and experiencing in growing and developing staff, volunteers and teams.
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to effectively balance a number of competing priorities, an agile and flexible approach to workload, and balanced decision making skills

About St Giles Trust 
An ambitious, well-established charity that helps people facing adversity to find jobs, homes and the right support they need. Central to our ethos is our belief that people with first-hand experience of successfully overcoming issues such as an offending background, homelessness, addictions and gang involvement, hold the key to positive change in others. 

St Giles is expanding its delivery of hospital-based projects; this service is aimed at vulnerable 10 to 25-year-olds who attend the adult or paediatric emergency department or Urgent Care Centre at Whipps Cross ED. We will work alongside hospital staff to proactively identify vulnerable young people and help them to access and engage the support they need to prevent any potential escalation of violence and reduce the risk of repeat victimisation or exploitation.

About this key role 
You will be embedded in the trauma team, working closely with clinicians and hospital staff to provide support for young people admitted to the Major Trauma Centre right through to their discharge back into the community, including access to appropriate longer-term support. You will be expected to identify and provide a comprehensive and holistic assessment, advice, referral and support service to young victims of violence people, exploring innovative and effective ways of supporting them which will reduce their risk of re-victimisation.  

You will produce support and risk management plans based on your assessments, promoting inter-agency collaboration in the assessment and planning process, and develop and maintain relationships with partner agencies.  We will also count on you to deliver a holistic support service, working solo or with colleagues as the situation dictates, providing a practical service that will include social and housing support, accompanying to appointments, benefits work, debt advice, liaising with utilities, appearing in court, DIY and cleaning. 

What we are looking for
You will be passionate about support and uplifting Children and Young people and want to make a difference within the community for the betterment of Children and Young People. You’ll also have an understanding of dominant youth culture and be relatable. You’ll need:

• A good understanding of the communities we support, including barriers certain communities face as well as the drivers of violence and exploitation
• Substantial experience of providing support, advice and advocacy 
• Substantial experience of assessing the needs of children and young people who at risk of significant harm  
• Experience of working as part of a multi-agency team, working together to achieve positive outcomes for young people
• Experience of assessing risk and implementing safety procedures as they relate to children and young people
• A knowledge of relevant services for young people and their families in the service provision area.
• Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building and communication skills, both verbal and written.

The Videographer and Photographer role sits within the Brand team. This role captures and edits high-quality video and photography to produce marketing, fundraising and brand assets for the organisation - working independently or collaboratively across multi-team projects.
