About the role 

We’re looking for an experienced, values-led Head of People to lead our HR services and shape a positive, inclusive, and engaging workplace culture. London National Park City is looking for an organised and adaptable Administration Manager to join our small staff team. This permanent role is essential to strengthening the infrastructure that enables our volunteer Ranger community and partner groups to make neighbourhoods across London greener, healthier and wilder.

As our Administration Manager, you'll be the operational backbone of our organisation – managing our CRM and internal systems, maintaining policies and procedures, and ensuring our staff and 150+ volunteer Rangers have seamless access to the information and resources they need. You'll work across all areas of our operation, from supporting Ranger onboarding and events to assisting with Board meetings and partner communications.

London became the world's first National Park City in 2019, and we are a long-term grassroots movement connecting people and nature across the capital. This role offers the opportunity to help scale our impact, fixing what needs fixing and structuring our work so more communities can take the lead in transforming their local areas.

You'll be an experienced administrator who excels at managing multiple information sources, planning ahead, and making smart decisions about systems and processes. You'll be disciplined and organised with excellent communication skills, but also creative and willing to chip in wherever needed.

You do not need a university degree to apply for this role, and we'll provide you with additional training and mentoring as you develop your skills.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for managing our internal systems, record keeping, data management, and will provide support for our Ranger and Communications team.

You will work directly with each of our staff, to ensure that they have access to the information and resources that they need to operate effectively, and will keep our policies and procedures up to date. 

You’ll provide additional support as part of the wider staff team for external events and communications, and support board and working group meetings.

• Managing our internal CRM, ensuring information is well structured, records are consistent, up to date and appropriately secure and accessible.

• Liaise with Rangers and other volunteers to ensure that their records are up to date and they have access to all the internal resources that require.

• Support our Community Director in organising Ranger recruitment, inductions, and onboarding.

• Support in organising external events for Rangers and volunteers as part of our seasonal Ranger programme, and Festival events through the year.

• Manage travel arrangements, ticket booking, and tracking attendance at organised Ranger events and Field Trips.

• Support our Executive Director and Community Director in external meetings and communications with partners and supporters.

• Assist in organising Board and Working Group meetings, preparing agendas, taking minutes, and tracking actions.

• Provide regular updates to our staff team and Ranger community on your projects and activities, and overall progress on our programme goals.

• Contribution to half yearly progress reports and final project reports for external stakeholders and funders.

You will report to the Executive Director and work closely with your colleagues in our staff team and with our wider group of volunteers.

Candidate Profile

We’re looking for an organised, thoughtful and considerate colleague who will help us better support our Ranger community, and extend the reach and effectiveness of our staff team.

You will have the following experience:

• Experience in an equivalent administration or operations role, or demonstrable experience of transferable skills.

• Experience working with an online CRM system, such as Monday or Hubspot, as well as proficiency with Google Drive or other office applications.

• Demonstrable experience of supporting a small distributed staff team, and working with volunteers will be a distinct advantage.

• An ability to communicate and coordinate with a wide range of people at all levels of a variety of organisations.

• Excellent oral and written communication in a clear, concise, accessible and effective manner.

• Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is essential.

• Ability to effectively plan and prioritise workload within deadlines, and to set and meet high standards of delivery.

Salary and benefits

You will be joining and fully participating in a unique and inspirational community of changemakers and storytellers, active across London and increasingly around the world. We pay all of our staff at least the London Living Wage.

This is a permanent role and the salary range is £30,000 to £34,000 dependent on experience. This may be a part or full-time role and we are open to applications for flexible working arrangements.

You will have 25 holiday days allowance per year (pro rata for part-time staff).

Following successful completion of a 3 month probationary period, we will enrol you in our Nest pension scheme, and will make additional payments of 4% as long as you contribute 4% of your salary each month.

This role will predominantly be carried out remotely from home and in person at our Visitor Centre in London, with regular meetings and site visits across London, so you must be based in the UK and be prepared for regular travel.

About the Role
 

As a Senior Community Link Worker, you will have a developmental role as well as providing on-going support. You will be responsible for developing positive, working relationships between the Community Link Worker team, Primary Care and local community resources. You will work to ensure that people referred from Primary Care to the Community Link Worker service benefit from community resources which can contribute to improvement of their mental and physical health outcomes. You will contribute to community development in your local area of work by working with community organisations
 

You will carry case loads for on-going work with specific individuals for developing and reviewing personal support plans, and provide oversight of personal support plans designed and implemented by Community Link Workers. Working closely with Community Link Workers in a guidance and/or support and supervision role, you will promote good working practice and staff development.
 

You will also ensure that the Community Link Worker service provides an environment where people can improve their health outcomes, establish improved connections in their communities and enhance their quality of life.

The Healthier Me Coach is key to the delivery of our exciting new Omaze funded activity. This is a part-time, fixed-term position of 22.5 hours per week, ending in December 2027. In our new programme called "Healthier Me" we want to: 

• Improve health outcomes for people with a learning disability.

You will be working within a team of Healthier Me Coaches across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The Healthier Me Coach will work both independently and collaboratively.

A key part of this work will be to support around 100 people with a learning disability to set and achieve personal health goals over 2 years. We have TWO opportunities for Support Fund Coordinator to join our Support Fund team at the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association. In this vital role, you’ll ensure that people living with MND receive timely and effective support through our Support Fund service.

We want the Healthier Me Coach to use a community-led approach, giving people we support and the wider community opportunities to contribute and be part of local solutions. The coach will establish strong working relationships that enable Mencap to secure positive outcomes for people with a learning disability. The Healthier Me Coach will work closely with the Programme Manager to ensure good monitoring processes are followed to reach set targets and goals. You will support with monitoring progression, collecting and inputting data.

Key Responsibilities 

• Line management of colleagues with a learning disability – Healthier Me Champions.

Role purpose

You are responsible for planning, delivering and evaluating the Sector Connected Leaders Programme which is a new scheme and in a pilot stage. The role combines project management, stakeholder coordination and delivery of high-quality events and learning activity across the UK nuclear sector. You hold day-to-day accountability for delivery, budget control and reporting.

Job Description and Job Specification

Job title: Project and Events Lead, Sector Connected Leaders Programme
Contract: Fixed term, 12 months, with the possibility of extension or transition to a permanent role, subject to funding and performance
Working pattern: 0.6 FTE, 3 days per week
Salary: £15,000 per annum (0.6 FTE, £25,000 FTE equivalent)
Annual leave entitlement: 25 days plus bank holidays, pro rata. At 0.6 FTE this equates to 15 days annual leave plus bank holidays, calculated on a pro rata basis in line with NI policy.

Key Tasks

Programme and project delivery

• Plan and manage the end-to-end delivery of the 12-month pilot programme.
• Develop and maintain a delivery plan, milestones, risks and mitigations.
• Manage delivery within the approved budget.

Events and learning delivery

• Design and deliver a structured programme of in person events, webinars, workshops and site visits.
• Coordinate venues, logistics, suppliers and facilitators.

Stakeholder management

• Act as the primary liaison with the organisations from whom scheme participants will be recruited, including both Government departments and nuclear industry.
• Build effective relationships with sponsors, facilitators and participating organisations.
• Support organisations to endorse and release participants.

Participant management and communications

• Manage participant recruitment, onboarding and ongoing communications.
• Ensure a high-quality participant experience throughout the programme.
• Promote the programme through NI communications, events and conferences.

Monitoring, evaluation and reporting

• Define and track KPIs including participation, satisfaction, diversity and outcomes.
• Produce progress updates and a final evaluation report for NI leadership and the Board.
• Capture learning to inform a sustainable Year 2 delivery model.

Governance and representation

We are looking to recruit HOPELINE247 Advisers to provide individually tailored suicide prevention advice and guidance to young people and those who are concerned for them via our national multi-channel helpline HOPELINE247 and deliver suicide prevention training online and in community settings across the UK.

What you will do:

• Work as part of a team providing suicide prevention support to a range of clients via multichannel communication platforms.
• Work on a 7-day shift system including evening and weekends
• Use professional judgement to assess the needs of the service users who present with risk to life and manage and report any matters related to safeguarding. 
• Maintain accurate records and input data monitoring into the data base system.
• Participate in clinical supervision and reflective practise. 
• Provide training, mentoring and coaching to new recruits.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• a degree or professional qualification in Health or Social Care, Community Work or a related discipline
• previous experience of working in an advisory capacity in suicide prevention or mental health
• a proven record of working directly with vulnerable young people
• experience of providing advice and guidance via multiple communication channels
• the ability to empathise, support and build rapport with suicidal people and those who care about them, remaining non-judgemental and adhering to the remit of the service

Hours:  30 hours per week over 4 days as part of a team that work 8.5 hour shifts between 07:30am and 22:30.

The Active Ageing Coordinator will run BIAS’s very popular twice-weekly active ageing lunch clubs in Dollis Hill and Cricklewood, which attract over 50 attendees per session, working with a team of volunteers to coordinate activities including Irish music, dancing and bingo. We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic person who is happy to take a hands-on approach to the development and delivery of our active ageing project. You will need to have strong people skills and the ability to proactively build positive relationships with volunteers and service users, along with excellent organisational abilities.

The project (funded by the Irish Government’s Emigrant Support Programme) will also involve delivering occasional special events for club members, such as St Patrick’s Day and Christmas celebrations and health and wellbeing days. You will need a strong capacity to build relationships and partnerships with other organisations and community groups in the borough, and a willingness to work with the leadership team on the marketing and development of the clubs, including via social media.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Take the lead on the day-to-day running of BIAS’s two active ageing clubs in Brent, ensuring that they are welcoming, accessible and available to all.
• Carry out administrative tasks necessary for the successful running of the clubs, including shopping for club supplies, preparing refreshments, setting up music, organising entertainment and banking attendance fees, working within agreed budgets.
• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all club members during club sessions, and manage communication and additional engagement with members outside of club sessions.
• Record and maintain member and attendance information in BIAS’s client management system.
• Where needed and possible, provide support to BIAS’s Active Ageing Coordinator in Haringey borough, and cooperate on joint club initiatives.
• Working in close cooperation with BIAS’s Volunteer Manager, encourage volunteer recruitment and retention and supervise volunteers during club sessions, ensuring that they have a safe working environment and a positive, fulfilling volunteering experience.
• Contribute to the promotion of the active ageing clubs in the local community, help create content and manage community interactions on BIAS’s social media accounts, and represent BIAS at occasional community events.
• Organise an annual summer outing for club members, and work closely with the leadership team on the organisation of a Christmas event for the wider BIAS community.
• Plan annual Health and Wellbeing Days in cooperation with local health networks, and work with the management team to identify other possible initiatives to improve the health and wellbeing of active ageing club members.
• Develop and maintain good relations with other cultural organisations and community groups in Brent, with the aim of promoting cooperation and cross-cultural exchanges.
• Work with the management team to identify opportunities for expansion of the active ageing project and ways to increase community engagement with BIAS.
• Attend regular supervision sessions with the Head of Operations, and be willing to undertake training and professional development as needed.

These are the basic duties required of the Active Ageing Coordinator. However, it is necessary for all staff to be flexible and you may be required from time to time to perform other reasonable duties which are required for the efficient running of the organisation. We will also offer training opportunities to support your career development.

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK. This post will require travel to club venues and transport of club supplies, so access to a car is required.

ABOUT BIAS

BIAS is a local charity which has supported England’s largest Irish community for over forty-five years. We deliver our support through our welfare advice drop-in service, our active ageing clubs and our Be-a-friend volunteer scheme. We raise over £2 million in extra income for the most vulnerable every year and have over 3000 attendances at our club services. BIAS has exciting plans for further expansion and has a range of medium- to long-term grant funding streams, including from Ireland’s Emigrant Support Programme.

Local peer-led bereavement support is a core part of what we do here at Sands. This is primarily delivered by Support Groups and Sands United football teams run by dedicated volunteers right across the UK, most of whom are bereaved themselves. There are 84 Groups and 40 Sands United team across the UK who provide safe and welcoming spaces to be there for each other. 

This is a high-profile and exciting new role which is responsible for ensuring that anyone affected by baby loss or the death of a baby has the chance to access Sands peer led activities in the North of England, promoting sport and activities for health, wellbeing and support services and groups, ensuring that all sections of the community are aware of available activities and where they can go to be part of the community.

We are looking for successful, demonstrable experience of working with minoritised communities and a good working understanding of the barriers people experience accessing bereavement support and care in statutory, health and community settings. 

With experience of coordinating volunteering programmes on a regional or national basis, you will be passionate and knowledgeable about the potential for volunteering within the charity sector.
