Job Purpose:

To provide support, information and guidance to end of life patients and their carers to empower and ensure that they have the right information and the right time to make informed choices about their care.

We are looking for an experienced individual to co-ordinate day to day delivery of the Best Years Project to include supervision of liaison officer, administration officer and recruitment and supervision of all volunteers who will provide emotional and practical support to individuals over the age of 65 with long term health conditions. The successful applicant will have experience of managing and recruiting volunteers, an understanding of the structure of local health services and the local voluntary sector and a minimum of 3 years’ experience of managing a similar service or project.

Financial Administrator reporting to the Finance & Operations Manager.  The role of Finance Administrator is a crucial one in our small Finance team, where the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records. This position requires strong organisational skills, an attention to detail, enthusiasm for figures and good financial practice. The Financial Administrator must be able to work independently as well as alongside the Finance & Operations Manager and Supporter Care Team.

To provide administrative support to the Fundraising Team, and to ensure smooth day to day running of the Fundraising Office.  The role will build, manage and nurture relationships with supporters and the post holder will deliver by recording accurate information about donors and assisting with donor queries

Right now, one of our partners, Richmond Fellowship, is looking for an Employment Specialist to join their Surrey Employment service. We help individuals with mental health problems to find paid employment or return to their current role after a period of ill health. We also assist employers and employees to successfully resolve mental health problems in the workplace. But, it’s only possible with the help of people like you.

Your challenge? To do everything you can to help the individuals we work with to source appropriate work experience placements and paid roles with local organisations/employers. Day to day, you’ll offer support, careers advice and guidance, helping people to set their own recovery and employment focused goals and provide training in personal and skills development such as CV preparation, interview techniques etc. You’ll also be responsible for establishing and maintaining positive links with community mental health teams (CMHRS), Early Intervention Into Psychosis (EIIP) Teams, partner organisations, local employers and other relevant agencies and have the initiative to develop and promote the service. Additionally, you will have responsibility for maintaining efficient admin systems to ensure referrals, assessments and reviews are completed in a timely manner.

As well as a good understanding of the IPS model of working, mental health problems and the issues and barriers this can create for our clients, you’ll need excellent motivational, presentation and listening skills and a willingness to travel in the local area and to work outside of office hours as required.

There is one vacancy being recruited for covering a smaller geographical area of East Surrey however the delivery is Surrey and borders wide. The successful candidate will be based in Leatherhead office. The post-holder will therefore be a car driver, with access to their own vehicle.

This is a permanent part-time role requiring the post holder to work 22.5 hours per week.

The Amari Project is based in Enfield and provides 2nd stage Supported Accommodation to women who have been sexually exploited, trafficked or who have exited Prostitution. Women in this Project will also receive resettlement support and may remain within the Borough of Enfield or be moved out of borough as part of planned move on.

About the Role

The resettlement Floating Support Worker will provide resettlement support to residents moving out of the Amari Project and from Pan London refuges. You will provide fortnightly case work to residents in their move on accommodation.

You will provide holistic support including tenancy sustainment support and advocacy support to establish and maintain partnership working .You will be responsible for providing data and any statistical information for monitoring returns and in collating

About You

The ideal candidate will possess knowledge and experience of supporting women who have experienced domestic abuse, trafficking and sexual exploitation. You will be required to have an awareness of the impacts of trauma on survivors of domestic abuse.  

You will have experience of managing risk and following case management procedures to meet the needs of the client group, and the ability to work with women to help them to understand their needs, risk assess, develop safety plans and support them in linking with other agencies.

You will have a working knowledge of the available legal remedies, housing, and welfare benefits, as well as experience of providing training.

Outside of this, you will have excellent administrative and time management skills and the ability to effectively manage a caseload.

An exciting opportunity has arisen in East Sussex for a highly motivated and committed Family Worker to build on a well-established commissioned service.   

About the Role:  

Kinship is the leading kinship care charity in England and Wales. We work with all kinship carers – the grandparents, siblings, aunts, uncles, and family friends who are caring for children when their parents can’t.  

We’re seeking an experienced Family Worker who is passionate about supporting kinship carers to get the right support at the right time. We are looking for someone who has the interpersonal and partnership skills to perform their role sensitively and creatively while also meeting reporting and impact requirements. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with East Sussex County Council and will share their ambition to support families to keep their children safe through support, advice and guidance.

You’ll be delivering our Kinship Connected programme offering support to special guardians and other kinship carers, providing emotional and practical support to carers in their homes and in the community over a six-month intervention cycle. You’ll also connect them with other kinship carers through peer support groups, as well as supporting to unlock community assets.   

This is a role where you’ll need to have strong boundaries and personal resilience – which we’ll also support through development and reflective practice. 

Key responsibilities include:

• Practical and emotional support to kinship carers virtually or in-person in their home or community.
• Signposting or referring to relevant national and local services.
• Liaising with other professionals and organisations.
• Attending professional meetings when the carer needs extra support (e.g. CIN. CP, family group conference, school meetings).
• Making referrals to other Kinship services such as Advice, Someone Like Me, Peer-to-Peer.

Do you want to make life better for LGBT+ victims and survivors of abuse?

Galop, the UK’s LGBT+ anti-abuse charity, is seeking a Survivor Engagement Manager. Galop works directly with thousands of LGBT+ people who have experienced abuse and violence every year. We specialise in supporting victims and survivors of domestic abuse, sexual violence, hate crime, and other forms of abuse including honour-based abuse, forced marriage, and so-called conversion therapies. We are a service run by LGBT+ people, for LGBT+ people, and the needs of our community are at the centre of what we do. We are person-centred, empowerment-based, and trauma- informed – meaning our focus is always on helping our clients decide what is best for them, and then supporting them through their journey.

Our National Helpline for LGBT+ Victims and Survivors of Abuse and Violence offers emotional support, advice and signposting to LGBT+ victims and survivors of domestic abuse, so-called “conversion therapy”, sexual abuse and violence and hate crime. We are person- centred, empowerment-based, and trauma-informed – meaning our focus is always on helping our clients decide what is best for them, and then supporting them through their journey.

The Helpline Advisor will work as part of a team, answering calls, responding to emails and webchats on Galop’s National LGBT+ Helplines. This will include supporting callers who have been subjected to violence and abuse, including domestic abuse, hate crime, sexual violence, and so-called conversion therapies.

The role will also work to identify the needs of each person referred to our triage service, bringing them into our advocacy services where appropriate, offering one-off guidance and assistance, or referring elsewhere when the clients’ needs suggest this is the best route for them.

We’re looking for someone with a trauma-informed approach to supporting survivors. You’ll need to have good resilience and self-care, and a strong understanding of the needs of LGBT+ victims and survivors.

Given the nature of the role and the individuals that will be supported, we would particularly welcome and prioritise applications from the global majority (a person of colour) as long as they meet essential criteria for the role.

Please note, that there is a genuine occupational requirement under the Sexual Orientation Regulations 2003 for this post. It is considered essential that post holders have experience of LGBT+ needs, and impact of discrimination as the Helpline is run for LGBT+ people experiencing abuse and violence.

The post holder will be flexible and skilled, with an essential interest in and experience of working with migrant and refugee clients, many of whom have additional complex needs. You will work closely with our immigration caseworker manager to provide one-to-one specialist immigration advice and casework to migrant and refugee clients in Brighton & Hove and across East and West Sussex in the areas of immigration & asylum up to OISC L2. We are currently the only free, Level 2-accredited, year-round provider of out-of-scope immigration advice on the South Coast, and increasing local immigration capacity is critical to address growing demand and changing demographics in the region. Our current core caseload is largely non-EEA nationals whose immigration cases are out of scope of legal aid. However we are also seeing and will continue to see new arrivals and emerging needs in the region including Afghans resettled under the ARAP and ACRS schemes, Sudanese evacuees, EEA nationals who still have not registered for pre-settled or settled status, and an increasing number of both newly arrived and established asylum seekers placed in emergency (‘contingency’) and dispersal Home Office accommodation.

The balance of time spent between different client groups and cases will therefore need to be responsive to the changes we see in the city and region. Many of our clients also have complex additional needs including health and homelessness and the post holder will be expected to liaise closely with our generalist caseworkers and external providers to ensure that people’s holistic needs are met.

You will work as part of a small, supportive advice and casework team that also includes two generalist advice caseworkers, an employability caseworker, a groupwork facilitator and four dedicated resettlement caseworkers who are supporting newly resettled refugee families mainly from Syria and Afghanistan.

Regular supervision and support and in-house and on-the-job training will be provided, as well as external training on specific issues where needed. However you will need to be ready to step immediately into a busy advice environment with the necessary confidence, skills and knowledge to begin to deliver advice and casework and pick up an existing caseload.

Ideally you will already be OISC L2-accredited, but if only L1-accredited you must be willing to work towards accreditation within the 6-month probationary period.
