Action Syria (formerly Hands Up Foundation) is a small and innovative charity that funds health and education programmes in Syria and neighbouring countries. Hands Up Foundation was founded in 2012 and has raised millions for humanitarian aid in Syria and surrounding countries. To mark their commitment to helping Syrian people affected by conflict, displacement, and natural disaster, they changed their name from Hands Up Foundation to Action Syria in 2024.
This role is offered on a flexible permanent contract basis paying a salary between £40,000 to £50,000 per annum with flexible hybrid working arrangements at their Office in Shoreditch.
This newly created role will be part of the senior leadership team and lead the fundraising function at Action Syria. The post holder will work with the CEO and team to deliver their ambitious fundraising goals over the next three years with an aim to increase annual income to £1 million. They will also aim to expand and diversify their supporter base with emphasis on attracting new audiences and networks; gaining more multi-year grants from Trusts, Foundations and major donors; building regular giving; joint fundraising partnerships (e.g. commercial partnerships); and building on current relationships with peer organizations which have a particular interest in Syria.
They are looking for someone with demonstrable experience of developing fundraising strategies, networking, and delivering to large income targets. They are looking for a candidate with a demonstrable track record of securing six figure funds from multiple sources and confident of working at a senior level externally. Goodman Masson are delighted to be partnered with the Royal College of Surgeons of England to recruit for their new Financial Planning & Performance Analyst.
You will be responsible for providing a tailored finance partnering service to a portfolio of both cost and revenue-generating business units, whilst supporting the delivery of the annual planning and budgeting process.
Day to day responsibilities include:
- Work with budget holders to build annual budgets and forecasts
- Build and maintain analysed evidence in support of budget and forecast positions based upon relevant and reliable financial and non-financial data
- Review, validate and finalise monthly and annual performance positions with budget holders
- Track monthly and annual performance by comparing and analysing actual results with plans and forecasts
- Deliver effective decision-making support by providing prompt and accurate management information
- Play a active role in the development of financial performance analysis and projects set up to deliver this
Essentials:
- CCAB Qualified
- Proven experience within a financial analysis role
- Experience across planning, budgeting and forecasting
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
