We are looking for a proactive self-starter to sit within a high-performing team working to raise awareness of SSAFA’s support in the South West Region of England to those in the Armed Forces Community who need it most.

With the ultimate objective being to grow SSAFA’s presence, profile, and identity, the role is responsible for all marcomms activation in the region. The role holder will work to deliver the central Fundraising, Marketing & Communications strategy.

This role reports to the Head of Communications with close alignment with colleagues across the marcomms directorate. The marcomms manager will be responsible for managing marketing campaigns in the South West Region of England and promoting SSAFA’s fundraising initiatives and services. You’ll identify the areas of greatest impact and cut through, deliver integrated awareness campaigns and secure media coverage of fundraising events. Crucially, you’ll be able to identify stories which resonate with our target audience and write calls to action.

With a heavy focus on media and PR activity, key to the role is building strong relationships and contacts with relevant stakeholders in your region including media representatives, employees, volunteers, and case study beneficiaries.

About the team

The Communications team is a small but dynamic group of individuals with strong skillsets across Public Relations, Storytelling (case studies) and Internal Communications. The team is a mix of ex-forces and civilians, and they are always sharing knowledge and expertise with each other.

You will work closely across all directorates within SSAFA, with a focus in South West, to garner information and create compelling marcomms campaigns and activities to raise awareness of SSAFA’s work.

About you

You will be a highly motivated and creative communicator with a proven track record of delivering impactful PR and marketing campaigns. As a natural storyteller with strong media instincts, you will excel at securing high-profile coverage and elevating our brand presence. You will be a confident relationship builder, skilled at engaging stakeholders across the region, from media contacts to volunteers and case study beneficiaries. You will also be able to work independently while staying closely aligned with teams across fundraising and communications, demonstrating proactivity and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.

The role of Senior Events and Partnerships Manager will lead the Events and Partnerships Teams to deliver their strategy and plans. Working with the Head of Public Fundraising the Senior Events and Partnerships Manager will carry out a programme of continuous improvement to shape our programme of events for supporters, the local community, our children, young people and their families and retain and grow our partnerships and community fundraising programmes. This work is vital in helping us to achieve our strategic aims of increasing our net contribution and growing our supporter base.

The successful candidate will proactively lead our Events Team to review and overhaul our current events programme before implementing a varied and exciting refreshed programme which will engage new and current supporters as well as the local community and our children, young people and their families. They will also lead our Partnerships Team to develop and maintain and grow long-term, high value and multifaceted community, group and corporate partnerships to maximise income, value and influence for The Children’s Trust.  You will lead a small team of events and partnerships managers to secure and manage a range of new and existing partnerships and events (including owned and third party).   

Income generation and strategy

• Lead the implementation and delivery of the strategy for the Events and Partnerships teams and work with the Head of Public Fundraising and the teams to develop and review strategies to maximise income from events and partnerships
• Utilise audience insight to develop a broad and innovative range of income generating products to engage new and steward existing partners (including community supporters, businesses, groups and schools)
• Lead the Events team to review and overhaul our current events programme so that we are maximising net income and ROI as well as meeting the needs of our supporters and local community, and building connections and long-term relationships with our events supporters
• Manage partnership pipeline including building opportunities with new businesses to increase the range, value and number of partnerships for The Children’s Trust
• Work with the Partnerships team to implement processes that streamline and integrate relationship management across the team
• Lead the team to maximise growth and opportunities from businesses, community supporters, groups and schools through supporter journeys, stewardship, and cross-sell
• Work across the Retail, Fundraising and Communications directorate to maximise opportunities for contact mapping, cross-sell and support the activity of other teams within the directorate (including but not limited to stock donations, sponsorship of committee-led events, pro bono support, gifts in kind etc.) 

Events and relationship management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing corporate partners, groups, supporters, senior volunteers and committees
• Work with the Events and Partnerships Managers to create account plans for corporate partners, groups and schools, as well as supporter journeys for community supporters and participants in our events programme
• Work with Events and Partnerships team to ensure that we are maximising opportunities within our relationships, achieving long-term growth and retention of all supporters and working with teams across the directorate to cross-sell other appropriate opportunities for support
• Develop relationships with colleagues across the Public Fundraising Team, wider directorate and organisation to ensure that opportunities for engagement, integration and promotion of events and partnerships are maximised and publicised
• Bring the Events and Partnerships teams together to ensure that we are seizing opportunities to integrate the programmes, for instance through corporate sponsorships of events, employee volunteering or participation, donated goods for raffles and auctions, match funding and more

We are looking for a Senior Supporter Care Manager, this role reports to the Director of Development and Communications.

The successful candidate will have significant experience in a supporter care, supporter experience or donor services environment within the charity sector, with proven experience of managing and developing teams. You will be flexible, able to work under pressure and manage a busy and sometimes competing workload. You will be able to effectively plan, implement, and balance your workload to continuously support Operation Smile UK’s fundraising programme.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Development and Communications, your duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead, develop and motivate the Supporter Care team, fostering a positive, inclusive and supporter-focused team culture.
• Manage and maintain a robust internal call handling and outbound calling training programme — covering inbound supporter care, retention and winback conversations — for both members of the Supporter Care team and across the organisation.
• Ensure internal SLAs are met, overseeing quality through delivery of response times (by channels) and credible and clear communications with our supporters.

Supporter Care & Experience

• Oversee the delivery of high-quality, timely and empathetic responses to supporter enquiries across all channels, including handling complex enquiries, complaints and managing escalations where needed.
• Act as Operation Smile UK’s supporter experience expert, shaping and reviewing supporter-facing content, acknowledgement letters, calling scripts and digital communications to ensure a consistent, high-quality experience across all touchpoints.
• Own the development and review of all supporter-facing communications and internal supporter care materials, ensuring they reflect best practice and deliver a consistent supporter experience.
• Manage and monitor the call review and vulnerable persons programme to ensure high standards are maintained in all telephone interactions, including those involving external agencies.
• Oversee the processing of acknowledgements and problem payments.
• Manage an efficient stock control system to ensure the team maintains sufficient stock to meet fulfilment KPIs.

Supporter Retention & Engagement

• Play a leading role in supporter journey design, engagement and stewardship projects, using supporter insight and feedback to shape and improve the experience at each stage.
• Ensure the supporter experience is considered in all new and existing supporter journeys across the organisation, acting as the voice of the supporter in cross-functional planning.
• Work alongside the Retention and Legacy Fundraising Lead to develop and deliver supporter journeys across all donor segments, including regular givers, high value donors, the core donor base, and legacy prospects and pledgers, providing operational insight and delivering outbound retention and winback calling activity as part of the wider retention programme.

Budget & Performance Monitoring

• Support the development and monitoring of budgets relating to supporter care activity, including response handling costs and supplier spend, working collaboratively with the wider fundraising team to maintain oversight of response forecasts and performance.
• Monitor supporter care and experience performance, analysing feedback, satisfaction data and operational KPIs to drive service improvements.
• Contribute to supporter experience initiatives and transformation projects, supporting the implementation of improved processes, systems and ways of working, and proactively identifying opportunities to enhance the supporter experience.
• Set, monitor and report on supporter response times and service level targets across all communication channels, ensuring the team consistently meets or exceeds agreed standards and identifying areas for improvement.

Data, Processes & Compliance

• Ensure accurate and efficient processing of supporter income and data, overseeing processes including Gift Aid, data handling, reconciliation between systems and daily banking of income received.
• Manage the development and documentation of procedures covering all supporter care processes and data capture.
• Support colleagues in their use of the CRM database and maintain data entry procedures.
• Maintain Operation Smile UK’s commitment to supporter care and data protection, and ensure that policies relating to these areas are developed and upheld.

Cross-Team Collaboration & Partner Management

• Work collaboratively across fundraising, communications and data teams to ensure a consistent, high-quality supporter experience across all campaigns and channels.
• Take a lead in managing relationships and processes with response handling agencies and other external partners.

We have a rewarding opportunity available for a Female* Partnership Recovery & Development Manager to join the Bristol Mental Health Partnership and Mental Health and Wellbeing Partnership BSW. You will join us on a Permanent basis working 18.75 hours each week and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of Point 22 £33,699 per annum pro rata and benefits.

The Bristol Mental Health Partnership came to exist in October 2014 when voluntary organisations (such as Missing Link, Second Step, Nilaari and Off The Record) came together with AWP to provide secondary mental health services in Bristol. The Bristol Mental Health Partnership aims to deliver recovery and wellbeing opportunities for people with mental health needs across Bristol by engaging with service users in the community and using a range of skills to deliver support specific to the service user and their recovery goals. The post involves working with and alongside multiple organisations that form the Recovery Bristol Partnership.

The BaNES, Swindon and Wiltshire (BSW) Mental Health and Wellbeing Partnership was launched in 2025, and is a voluntary sector partnership committed to providing expert mental health support at the right time and in the right place for people living in BSW. The BSW Mental Health and Wellbeing Partnership is a new collaboration made up of: Second Step, Alabare, Nilaari and Missing Link. As our Recovery and Development Manager you will work closely with NHS community mental health services provided by Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership Trust (AWP) and manage our Recovery Navigators who are based in the Access Community Mental Health teams across BSW.

Key duties and responsibilities of our Female* Partnership Recovery & Development Manager:

• Work in partnership with AWP and Second Step to ensure the development and performance of VCS staff
• Facilitate partnership working between VCS partners and AWP, by acting as a key advocate for VCS roles at all Partnership meetings
• Proactively and professionally address and resolve challenges, working in a collaborative way, to ensure VCS staff are working within the remit of their roles
• Maintain and promote good understanding of Community Mental Health Services and the wider Bristol, BaNES, Swindon and Wiltshire Mental Health Services
• Analyse problems and situations and find long-term solutions that benefit and improve the partnerships
• Support the RBP to embed VCS Management policies and procedures to support effective Human Resources management and ensure the health and wellbeing of VCS staff
• Promote a supportive and recovery focused culture within the partnerships
• Support recruitment across the partnerships
• Carry out HR processes for staff working in both partnerships, for example, inductions, probationary reviews, appraisals, performance and absence management and disciplinaries
• In partnership with AWP managers conduct quality assurance reviews and ensure any issues are resolved
• Uphold the values, ethos and culture of Missing Link ensuring staff feel valued, supported and connected to the organisation
• Work as part of the Missing Link on call system
• Carry out role adopting and promoting the values of the organisation and within the staff code of conduct

Job role:

In this exciting and varied role, within our growing Mass Engagement department you will be part of the core team responsible for delivering the charities challenge events portfolio to maximise support and increase income.

Key responsibilities:

Parallel is a small charitable initiative with big ambitions. Our mission is to increase the number and diversity of excellent young mathematicians. We are a Good Thinking project (registered Charity Number: 1147404).

Founded in 2023 by Simon Singh MBE and Dr Junaid Mubeen, our online Parallel Academy supports highly capable students to excel in maths, by providing them with structured programmes that develop their reasoning and problem-solving skills beyond the curriculum.  We currently support more than 10,000 students through the Academy, around 1000 of whom receive highly targeted support through weekly, small-group online tutorials.

We are at an exciting phase in our journey, with plans to expand tutoring to 5000 students over the next four years. Our students are motivated and ambitious. Our maths programme takes place outside of school hours, yet students have an average attendance above 95%. All of our work takes place online and is subject to safeguarding and data protection policies that are reviewed periodically to reflect up-to-date best practice.

Parallel has built a reputation for excellence, both in terms of the expectations we set for students, and the quality of service they receive from us. Our work is underpinned by an inclusive ethos; every student who applies for the Academy is guaranteed a place on one of our programmes.

The purpose of this role
 

We are seeking an experienced Head of Operations to join and help lead our committed and energetic team. This role is pivotal to achieving Parallel’s growth ambitions while maintaining the quality of service we are renowned for. As a senior leader, you will be a lynch pin of our core team and will make a real difference to the life prospects of thousands of young students. 

On a practical level, you will coordinate and drive our core programmes, with oversight and accountability for their smooth, day-to-day delivery. You will also line-manage two full-time administrators (this may increase as the team expands), overseeing and supporting their work across communications, data and operational delivery.

We have established several processes and tools for delivering our programme effectively and the ideal candidate will have a sharp eye for process improvement and opportunity. You will need to understand and consolidate our current best practices, but also identify ones that need to be adapted or enhanced as we look to scale up. 

This role is offered initially as a fixed-term contract for 12 months, though we have every intention to extend the position longer term should the appointment prove successful. 

A note on working hours
 

This is a fully-remote role. As part of your contracted hours you will be required to regularly do some work during evenings and weekends (approx 5-8 hours a week). You may occasionally need to step in at short notice, outside of standard working hours, to support and resolve urgent operational issues.

There will also be periods when there is a higher workload (e.g., during student admissions cycles), so you may be required to offer some flexibility in working longer  - and then shorter - hours week to week. Time off in-lieu is provided for additional hours worked. 

In general, you will have significant autonomy in how you structure your working week, provided you ensure that our core operational needs are covered within the whole team.

Key responsibilities

Working for Parallel is challenging and rewarding in equal parts. On a typical day you will be fielding queries from parents, managing the logistics of 200+ tutorials a week and ensuring tutors are fully supported. We are a dynamic team that readily adapts to new situations and relishes the challenge of working through problems together. 

As part of your key responsibilities you will:
 

• Oversee the smooth day-to-day running of our Tutorial and Webinar Programmes, ensuring that sessions proceed as planned, and that any issues - from tutor cover needs to student absence requests - are swiftly and effectively addressed.

• Coordinate key aspects of our start and end-of-term administration, including payments, parent and student communications, website setup, spreadsheets and logistics.

• Oversee the admin team’s responsiveness to our high-volume shared inboxes, responding to the most sensitive student and parent queries and acting as a point of escalation where needed.

• Manage a small but growing admin team, providing regular guidance, support, and feedback.

• Play a key role in overseeing our student admissions cycles, from planning to testing, setup, delivery and communication of decisions.

• Make everyday operational decisions independently, exercising good judgement in when to bring issues to senior management.

• Work effectively with data (e.g. student learning data) - as managed through our central directories - and use it to guide decision-making and to support the effective running of our programmes. 

• Review our policies on an ongoing basis, ensuring that we are complying with our safeguarding and data protection obligations at all times and that our policies are built for scale.

• Support with schools outreach initiatives.

• Develop and document key administrative procedures (an ever-evolving ‘Operations Handbook’) to ensure that we have reliability and stability across all programmes.

• Help to shape and build on our ethos of high expectations, which translates into concrete policies regarding attendance, homework, participation and criteria for both admitting and removing students from our Tutorial Programme.

This is an exciting opportunity to oversee the migration of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central from an on-premises environment to Business Central SaaS (Cloud), ensuring a smooth transition while supporting the organisation through a period of change within the finance function.

The role will initially require a full-time commitment (5 days per week) and will combine project leadership with broader finance support responsibilities. As the project progresses, the requirement may reduce to approximately 3 days per week, with the focus shifting primarily to the successful delivery of the Business Central SaaS implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end migration from on-premises Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central to Business Central SaaS.
