We're looking for an experienced public affairs & influencing manager to lead Girlguiding's policy, influencing and external affairs agenda. Reporting to the head of corporate communications and external affairs, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping organisational positions on the issues that matter most to girls and young women, ensuring their voices are heard by decision-makers and helping to drive meaningful change.

In this role, you'll lead the development and delivery of high-impact policy and influencing strategies, working closely with government, parliamentarians, sector partners and internal stakeholders. We are looking for a motivated and inspiring Service Manager to lead our Housing First Service in Hackney. This is an exciting opportunity to manage a highly regarded service that supports people with histories of rough sleeping and multiple disadvantages to secure and sustain their own homes.

Based at our Lansdowne Drive scheme, you will provide leadership and support to a team of three Housing First Workers, overseeing a service that supports up to 18 clients. Working within the principles of Housing First, you will ensure people receive flexible, person-centred support that enables them to achieve their goals and live independently.

What you'll be doing

As Service Manager, you will play a key role in both the operational delivery and future development of the service. You will:

• Lead, motivate and develop a team of Housing First Workers, creating a positive and high-performing service culture.
• Ensure the service consistently delivers high-quality, person-centred support aligned with Housing First principles.
• Drive service performance, quality, and continuous improvement, ensuring positive outcomes for clients.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with commissioners, partner agencies, housing providers, and other key stakeholders.
• Contribute to the strategic development of Housing First services, sharing knowledge and best practice both internally and externally.
• Represent the service through partnership forums, conferences, and evaluations, helping to influence and promote effective approaches to tackling homelessness.
• Manage service budgets and resources effectively to ensure the service remains sustainable and impactful.
• Monitor, analyse and report on service performance, using data and insight to drive improvements.

This role requires flexibility and occasional travel both within and outside of Hackney.

The Centre Assistant will support the smooth running of the Smart Works Bristol service, creating a welcoming atmosphere for all clients, volunteers and visitors. Our team is friendly and professional, and we work closely together to make sure every client has an outstanding experience when they visit us.

The Centre Assistant will be the first point of contact clients and visitors will have with Smart Works, providing administrative, phone and booking support for clients across Bristol and beyond. The scientific, commercial, and societal benefits of these collections are currently constrained by the limits of physical access, and by highly fragmented digitisation efforts with less than 10% digitally available.

DiSSCo UK is a consortium of UK natural science collections, led by the Natural History Museum in partnership with the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) and UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), who are developing a national infrastructure to support the digitisation and use of the UK’s natural science collections to support this critical research.

This will take the form of a 10-year programme focused on digitisation of critical mass of collections as FAIR data, made available through a well-supported backbone of technology infrastructure, with continued development and application of innovative approaches such as greater use of Artificial Intelligence and robotics. Investment of the order of £155m over ten years from 2026-27 is expected to unlock at least a four-fold economic return on investment, as well as efficiency savings for UK and global researchers, and the potential for research innovation and studies that have not previously been possible – underpinning a future in which both people and planet thrive.

For someone who has spent years moving between the streets, temporary accommodation and services that have not worked for them, having a home of their own can be life changing. But getting the keys is only the beginning. As our Specialist Housing First Worker in Redbridge, you’ll provide the intensive, persistent and highly personalised support people need to make that home feel safe, sustainable and genuinely theirs.

Housing First does things differently. You’ll work alongside people who have experienced repeated homelessness and multiple disadvantage, including people who may be mistrustful of services or have found traditional approaches difficult to engage with. Rather than expecting people to change before they can access housing, you’ll start from the belief that everyone has a right to a home. You’ll build relationships over time, work creatively around barriers and use active engagement and harm reduction approaches to support people towards the goals that matter to them.

Your work will stretch across housing, health, benefits, safeguarding and wider support. You’ll help people prepare for and settle into their accommodation, navigate rent and benefits, manage risks and build greater independence within their community. Just as importantly, you’ll bring together the professionals around each person, advocate firmly when systems get in the way and keep looking for another route when the obvious one has failed. This is a role that calls for sound judgement, patience and real tenacity: knowing when to challenge, when to adapt and how to remain alongside someone through setbacks as well as progress.

You’ll be joining a team committed to delivering Housing First with integrity and giving practitioners the flexibility to respond to people as individuals. You’ll have opportunities to deepen your specialist knowledge, strengthen your partnership working and advocacy skills, and develop your practice through supervision, reflective learning and training.

UK natural science collections hold more than 140 million items. These are an unrivalled source of data about how the Earth and its natural systems formed over 4.56 billion years, with the potential to support research that addresses some of the critical issues facing the world, including biodiversity and climate change. They contain evidence of the changes in the natural world including the impact of human life on our planet over the past few thousand years. The scientific, commercial, and societal benefits of these collections are currently constrained by the limits of physical access, and by highly fragmented digitisation efforts with less than 10% digitally available.

DiSSCo UK is a consortium of UK natural science collections, led by the Natural History Museum in partnership with the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) and UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), who are developing a national infrastructure to support the digitisation and use of the UK’s natural science collections to support this critical research.

This will take the form of a 10-year programme focused on digitisation of critical mass of collections as FAIR data, made available through a well-supported backbone of technology infrastructure, with continued development and application of innovative approaches such as greater use of Artificial Intelligence and robotics. Investment of the order of £155m over ten years from 2026-27 is expected to unlock at least a four-fold economic return on investment, as well as efficiency savings for UK and global researchers, and the potential for research innovation and studies that have not previously been possible – underpinning a future in which both people and planet thrive.

DiSSCo UK is seeking an experienced and inspirational Digitisation Team Unit Lead to oversee digitisation operations, deliver strategic objectives, and support the development of a high-performing team contributing to the UK's natural science collections infrastructure.

The Unit Lead will provide sectional technical and people leadership for digitisation and collection preparation activities, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, safely, and to a high standard.
