Role Description
You would be responsible for:
- ensuring that gifts left to Animal Aid in wills are handled efficiently and sensitively, liaising with solicitors and executors to ensure income is received promptly and correctly recorded
- growing our legacy giving programme by building relationships with supporters who are considering leaving a gift in their will and overseeing legacy marketing campaigns, working with colleagues
- reporting on legacy income and forecasts to feed into our future strategy
- working with the fundraising team on department tasks
Ideally, you would have experience with legacy fundraising, but we are open to experienced fundraisers who are looking to move into legacy giving. Training will be given.
You must be committed to the objectives of the organisation and be in tune with Animal Aid’s ethical, vegan stance and outlook.

The Organisation
Action on Disability (AoD), founded in 1979, is one of London’s leading Disabled People’s Organisations (DPOs). The Project
Our Place is a project that is facilitated and managed by AoD. It is a 3-year National Lottery Community fund and Propel London funded project that will sit within our Independent Living Service. Our Place creates a community space and resource hub that Disabled people can call their own – led by them and facilitated by AoD staff. This service will be genuinely embedded in the local area, meeting needs expressed by local Disabled people to have their own place, and building links with amenities, businesses, and event spaces in Hammersmith and Fulham.
We want to enable businesses to feel more confident to welcome Disabled people and remove barriers. We want to create an inclusive and accessible space for Disabled people to socialise, build skills, pursue interests, and develop peer relationships.
Our Place operates alongside, and enhances, our current service provision. Central to this is ensuring that Disabled people have meaningful ownership over the space, from Steering Board input to operational delivery.
Disabled people will achieve their potential through four outcomes:
- Increased confidence, knowledge, and skills through opportunities to lead, learn and do new things.
- Reduced isolation and improved mental well-being through a place to socialise.
- Equity of access and participation in the local community.
- Mitigation of the pandemic’s impact, through building new opportunities.
The Post
We are looking for a full time Project delivery support officer with a commitment to the vision of AoD to promote Independent Living, Peer Support and Co-production within this project. You will have strong community project delivery, administration and support skills, good written and oral communication skills, and the ability to support the project and work effectively as part of a team. Your working hours will be dependent on the Our Place project activity schedule and may include early evening and weekend work.

- An understanding, commitment and positive attitude toward Disability and experience of working for and with Disabled people.
- Demonstrable experience of community project delivery.
- Experience of coordinating the delivery of projects
- Experience of supporting the fulfilment of reporting and monitoring needs.

KCLSU Advice often supports students experiencing difficult circumstances and so as a team, we work effectively and empathetically.
You will need to be confident in understanding complex policy and processes to ensure students are triaged appropriately and efficiently, enabling advisors to provide timely and tailored support.
Key responsibilities include;
- Supporting and completing a variety of administrative tasks relating to the KCLSU Advice service, in particular triage and casework.
- Maintaining accurate and consistent record keeping including using the Case Management System
- Administrate the KCLSU Advice inbox including processing referrals, removing duplicates, providing initial responses and flagging urgent queries.
- Representing KCLSU Advice at occasional outreach events to raise awareness of our service and educate students on the support offered.
- Provide administrative support for the Student Panel Volunteer project and any other relevant KCLSU Advice related projects
- Developing and maintaining up to date knowledge of the Advice Service procedures and practices and incorporate them into work effectively.
- Being a proactive and solution focused team member to support the service to meet student needs, particularly during busy periods.
