About the Role

• Develop compelling proposals that articulate the impact of the Youth Zone’s work, leveraging live data, case studies, and feedback from youth workers to bring applications to life

• Build and manage relationships with funders, developing stewardship plans that include timely reporting, in-person or virtual engagement, and opportunities for funder visits to the Youth Zone
• Act as a passionate advocate for the Youth Zone, representing the charity at networking events, funder meetings, and promotional visits, and supporting the wider fundraising team on campaigns and events when needed.

About You

You will have experience of:

• Writing successful funding applications or proposals, ideally in the voluntary or public sector, securing four- and five-figure gifts from trusts, foundations, or statutory sources
• Managing a fundraising pipeline or prospect list, from initial research through to application and stewardship, using a CRM system such as Salesforce to track progress and outcomes
• Collaborating across teams, particularly with delivery, finance, or impact colleagues, to gather information and develop compelling bids grounded in real-world delivery
• Producing high-quality donor reports, meeting deadlines and exceeding expectations through clear narrative, data, and case studies

About the Organisation

This is a brand-new locally run youth charity, set to provide thousands of young people with the opportunity to have fun, make new friends, try something new and feel safe. With community centric values and located in the heart of Grimsby, it will be an inspiring place for young people aged 8 – 19, and up to 25 for those with additional needs, to enjoy their leisure. The available role (details)
As Estates Manager, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for the management, maintenance, and development of all Wigan & Leigh Hospice estates, including clinical, administrative, retail, and warehouse sites. You will ensure the estate remains safe, sustainable, compliant, and efficient, consistently meeting statutory and regulatory obligations while supporting the Hospice’s wider strategic objectives.

This role requires a skilled facilities professional with expertise in estates compliance, health and safety, risk management, and the delivery of complex projects. You will lead, develop, and motivate a small estates team, oversee key supplier contracts, and act as the hospice’s Competent Person under the Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999. Your leadership will be central to embedding a culture of compliance, safety, and continuous improvement, while building strong relationships across internal teams and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have:

· NEBOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification, or relevant experience with a strong commitment to achieve these qualifications within an agreed timeframe
· Extensive knowledge of statutory estates compliance including H&S, COSHH, PUWER, Fire Safety, CDM, and RIDDOR
· Proven track record in multi-site estates or facilities management, preferably within healthcare, social care, or the charity sector
· Experience in policy development, compliance oversight, and quality assurance activities across diverse premises
· Demonstrated success in leading, developing, and motivating high-performing teams and managing external contractors
· Experience of managing estates projects from inception through delivery within budget and timescale
· Full UK driving licence with willingness and ability to travel between hospice and retail sites.

The postholder will be required to participate in the out-of-hours 'on-call' rota to address emergency facilities concerns.

The role may require occasional late-night or weekend work when there is a specific business need or, in some instances, to deal with an emergency. Advanced notice will be provided wherever feasible, and time off in lieu will be provided.

Working hours: 37 hours per week. Monday to Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm (Friday finish at 4pm). Flexibility with working pattern will be considered. The role is office based.

Scope of role

The People & Culture Partner will provide expert support across the full employee lifecycle from attraction and recruitment, to onboarding, development, performance management, and exit. This role will support senior leaders in driving values-based leadership, building, HR capability, and fostering a culture of performance, inclusion, and wellbeing.
In addition, the People & Culture Partner will play a key role in workforce planning, leveraging data and insights to inform decision-making, and ensuring that HR processes are effective, compliant, and centred on the needs and experiences of people.

Essential Criteria:

• CIPD Level 5 minimum.

• Experience managing payroll processes, either directly or through outsourced providers, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Proven experience leading end-to-end recruitment, including role scoping, advertising, shortlisting, interviewing, and selection.
• Experience designing and delivering onboarding and induction programmes that support new staff to integrate effectively and feel engaged from the outset.
• Experience of drafting HR policies and procedures and conducting gap analysis on HR systems.
• Experience supporting managers and advising through consultation processes such as TUPE and/or redundancy.
• Strong organisational, communication, and conflict resolution skills.

• Understanding of trauma-informed approaches and a commitment to developing organisational culture to ensure inclusion and diversity.

• Experience working in a unionised environment and demonstrate a high level of discretion and confidentiality.

• Experience working in a similar role within the charity or non-profit sector is preferred.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including active listening, with the ability to determine business goals and suggest ways to achieve them through HR initiatives.
