This exciting role will supercharge Peat-free Partnership’s public facing campaign and advocacy to ban the sales of peat in the UK. You will lead the public campaigning element of the Peat-free Partnership (PfP) - a major cross sector effort - to secure a legal end to peat sales in UK horticulture, hosted and coordinated by Plantlife. By working with partners and industry leaders, engaging with celebrities and the public across the UK, you’ll create a powerful, insight led campaign that builds momentum and influences decision-makers to ban peat sales in the UK

Focussed on building stronger public support for a legislated ban you will deliver the mass communication and advocacy campaigning to help drive policy change. As well as working alongside PfP’s policy advocate and other Plantlife colleagues you will help forge a unified voice across all PfP members and create increased support from industry and other partners.

The Peer Support In-Reach Service is a partnership between several local Minds. Senior Peer Support Workers and Peer Support Workers, who have direct lived experience of mental health issues, are working on in-patient wards in Croydon, Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham and Wandsworth to provide recovery-focused peer support to people as they leave hospital and journey towards living independently in the community.

We are looking for a Peer Support Worker to join our team in Greenwich. You will use your lived experience whilst on the ward to help people build skills to manage their home and finances, connect with family and friends, pursue social or vocational interests, to get more involved in their local community and to stay physically and mentally well. Your support will be person-centred and may include mentoring, coaching, emotional support and facilitating access to community activities, practical support, work or study.

The role will be ward-based initially until the patient is ready for discharge; you will then work with them to develop their support plans and goals. You will support them with the transition into the community for up to 6 weeks, helping them to connect with community resources to ensure they are well-supported in the community and working towards their goals.

Working within our Change and Innovation team, you’ll play a key role in bringing together data, feedback and relational insight from across the organisation and our partners. Job Purpose

Role Description

As our Programme Assistant and Volunteer Coordinator, you will be the driving force behind Grow’s Training and Employability Programmes. You will guide trainees from their first referral through to their next steps beyond Grow whilst also developing a strong, purposeful volunteering programme to support the work that we do. A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Challenge Events Assistant to join the fundraising team to play a key role in CHAS’ More Than a Hospice Appeal - an ambitious, once‑in‑a‑generation campaign to change the future of care for children who will die young.

Challenge events are some of the most exciting and fast-paced fundraising activities at CHAS – from running events and virtual challenges to adrenaline-fuelled experiences. This role is hands-on and varied. One day you might be supporting participants preparing for their first marathon, and the next you could be at an event pit stop, setting up, welcoming supporters, and keeping energy high throughout the day with a team of volunteers.

During event season, you’ll often be out and about, attending events, working occasional weekends, and being part of the buzz that comes with live events. At the same time, there’s a strong administrative and planning side – coordinating logistics, managing data, responding to supporter queries, and helping ensure every event runs smoothly behind the scenes. It’s a role for someone who enjoys being busy, can adapt quickly, and is just as comfortable with spreadsheets and emails as they are cheering participants across a finish line.

Key Responsibilities

Working within the culture, ethos and philosophy of CHAS, you will assist the Mass Participation Events Manager with the management and evaluation of challenge events and the recruitment and stewardship of supporters. Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting with the management of in-person challenge events, including liaising with third party event organisers, suppliers and attendance on the day

Role Description

The Training Manager at Grow is a pivotal role responsible for the design, delivery, and strategic growth of Grow’s youth employability programmes. The role bridges the gap between programme development and delivery, and ensures every stage of a young person’s Grow journey is meaningful and supports their progression into education, employment or training.

Strategy, Partnerships & Referrals

Develop Grow’s referral strategy and cultivate strong links with key partners across Sheffield.

Programme Design & Delivery

The purpose of the Senior Development Manager is to build and maintain a portfolio of high value donors and prospects through proactive networking, identifying cultivation opportunities and thoughtful stewardship. With a focus range of £100,000 and above, the position will develop long-term, strategic partnerships with existing and potential high value supporters, where relationships and their impact will be measured from both a financial and non-financial perspective. 

The postholder must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate a high degree of lateral thinking within a small but hard-working team.

Main activities:

1) To raise funds in the form of high value gifts (focusing on £100,000 and above) through a variety of methods, including regular face-to-face meetings, attending conferences and participating in other activities by implementing a comprehensive programme to identify, research, cultivate and solicit high value donors who have the potential for significant, multi-year giving.

In this context, the postholder will be required to spend a considerable amount of the working week out of the office travelling and meeting in person with potential donors and their representatives.   

2) To manage and develop meaningful donor relationships, including with existing donors, by utilising a wide range of methods, including stewardship events and networking amongst existing donors and their contacts.

3) To actively participate in the implementation of the current high value fundraising strategy, leading change and adjusting plans based on experience and realistic assessments in order to meet pre-agreed targets. This includes supporting the ongoing development of all aspects of the strategy, such as the case for support, prospect research, donor recognition opportunities and individual donor development plans for high value donors and prospects.

4) To contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the team, taking a lead role in the annual planning and reporting process for high value donors, providing regular progress reports against income targets and ensuring high standards of accountability. This also includes ensuring written and electronic records of donors are maintained, in compliance with data protection legislation.

5) To represent, and act as an ambassador, for EMERGENCY UK at external events, promoting its work and values where and when possible.

Person specification:

• Senior level experience working with foundations, corporates, high and ultra-high net worth individuals, leading them from identification to giving annual and multi-year gifts at the high five and six-figure level
• Experience of working independently to identify and cultivate prospects and influencers who have the ability to make personal introductions to high and ultra-high net worth individuals
• Experience in implementing high value giving strategies and annual plans for high and ultra-high net worth individuals, including reporting on targets and KPIs
• Experience of identifying potential high value donors, qualifying prospects and managing/growing a high-level prospect pipeline
• Experience of working with restricted grant funding: submitting proposals, completing monitoring forms and reporting to donors
• Experience of working within the humanitarian and development sector is preferable
• Experience of working with multiple stakeholders in a complex, multi-cultural environment
• Experience of creating high-quality, high-level donor events and bespoke engagements
• Experience of using Salesforce or similar CRM products/fundraising databases

Essential skills:

• Excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills
• Ability to communicate complex themes and subjects in a compelling and engaging way in writing and verbally
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to motivate and engage high value donors and prospects in the work of EMERGENCY
• Strong understanding of restricted grant funding processes, including proposal development, monitoring, and reporting
• Knowledge and understanding of how to use influencers and connectors in the most effective way for the benefit of EMERGENCY UK and the wider organisation
• Ability to be flexible and work in a fast-moving environment, leading on a wide range of tasks and projects simultaneously
• A strong team player who treats colleagues with respect and courtesy at all times
• Knowledge of tax efficient giving in the UK, current data privacy legislation and other regulatory compliance issues
• Proficient in Microsoft Office. Experience using Salesforce is desirable.

About the role 

In this varied and rewarding role, you’ll:

· Lead the planning and delivery of a programme of fundraising events — from small community activities to large scale and challenge events

· Be the key point of contact for our challenge fundraisers, supporting them before, during and after their events

· Build meaningful, long term relationships that make supporters feel valued, inspired and proud to fundraise for us

· Work closely with colleagues in Fundraising and Marketing to share stories, celebrate success and grow engagement

Manchester Young Lives are recruiting a Garden Play Worker to enrich our Ofsted registered afterschool play provision for 6–13-year-olds. This is an exciting opportunity to help children connect with nature develop environmental awareness and take pride in creating and caring for a flourishing garden within our Adventure Playground.

We are looking for someone who can facilitate environmental and outdoor play supporting children to build self-confidence, self-esteem, and wellbeing while learning through the hands-on gardening and exploration.

The successful Candidate will:

Develop and support an engaging garden project within our outdoor play space.

Facilitate creative nature-based play and learning activities.

Build positive trusting relationships with Children.

Encourage Team work, responsibility, and enjoyment of the outdoors.

Manchester Young Lives supports children and young people, often from disadvantaged backgrounds the opportunity to learn, develop and connect with their communities. Our work provides safe supportive relationships with committed staff and space to play, explore and let off steam in our outdoor space.
