The Migrant and Refugee Children’s Legal Unit at Islington Law Centre has a much-respected Immigration Team. We are a category 1 Legal Aid Immigration provider, and we have considerable experience across the range of immigration and asylum work, running cases at all levels of the Tribunal and Court system including the Administrative Court, the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court. We wish to further develop our public law work and practice. The work would mainly involve Albanian cases coming through our Breaking the Chains project, alongside other work of the Unit.

We are an expanding practice and currently have ten solicitors and caseworkers working in immigration at the Law Centre. There are opportunities to work within a supportive team and to develop your areas of expertise. The candidate must be an experienced IAAS Senior Caseworker or Supervising Senior Caseworker.

This is a new role sitting within the Marketing Planning team, created to establish ARUK’s Single Source of Marketing Truth. This role helps to establish marketing effectiveness as a core organisational capability at ARUK, ensuring objectivity on performance.

Key Responsibilities:

· Build and maintain consistent KPIs, reporting methodologies and dashboards across all marketing disciplines.

Legasee is a charity committed to ensuring that future generations can learn about our history through the personal recollections of the men and women who witnessed it first-hand. We provide students, teachers and researchers with unique access to a high-definition video archive of interviews with veterans and civilians connected to British military conflict from 1939 to the present day.

We are now seeking to recruit an experienced Project Manager to oversee the delivery of a major new oral history project focusing on the Aden Emergency, made possible thanks to a grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund. At its heart, the project will record the oral histories of 30–40 veterans and civilians whose lives were shaped by service in, or connection to, Aden during the final years of British rule.

The Project Manager will have overall responsibility for project planning, delivery, reporting and budget controland will work closely with project partners and funders to ensure that agreed outcomes are met. The role will provide leadership and direction to the project team and its volunteer network, ensuring that activity is well coordinated, realistic and delivered to a high standard.

The recorded testimonies will form a permanent digital archive and support public engagement, interpretation,and learning, ensuring that the experiences of those who served are not forgotten. A key part of the role will be the recruitment, coordination and ongoing support of a part-time Project Coordinator.The Project Coordinator will lead volunteer engagement, research support, transcription, and day-to-day project activities.

Education is central to the project. The Project Manager will oversee the development of educational activity delivered in partnership with schools and community groups, ensuring that young people are supported to explore the history and legacy of the Aden Emergency through original research, oral history and the thoughtful use of digital technologies. This work will result in the creation of new teaching resources, deeper community engagement and strengthened links with educational and cultural institutions nationwide.

The role is home-based, with flexible working hours agreed to ensure effective delivery of the project and coordination with partners.

If successful, your role will be:

• To work with the charity, its partners and the Project Steering Group to complete the project, in line with the requirements of the National Lottery Heritage Fund and within a rigorous evaluation framework.
• To work with the lead oral historian to create a video archive of the personal experiences and observations of up to 40 veterans of the Aden Emergency and ensure that all participants are supported throughout the entire process.
• To work with volunteers and project partners to develop and launch a new interpretation. 
• To work with a local school to deliver creative ways of learning about oral history.
• To be responsible for the overall recruitment, training and participation of all volunteers in the Project,ensuring that they benefit from their involvement by gaining new life skills and a greater understanding of the role of veterans of the Aden Emergency.

Summary

The Payroll Team is part of the NCIs Finance department, a shared services function serving the NCIs and the wider Church. It has responsibility for processing the monthly payroll for the Church of England's 8,000 stipendiary clergy (in the UK, Channel Islands and Isle of Man), staff working for the National Church Institutions and Bishops' office staff, those employed at the Church of England Pensions Board's supported housing schemes, and a number of smaller Church-related clients. Whilst the team is embedded within the Finance function, they work closely with the NCIs HR team, the People System team and diocesan colleagues to ensure the delivery of a joined-up high-quality service to a broad range of stakeholders.

In this role as Payroll Officer, you will undertake end-to-end payroll administration tasks and work within an agreed control framework and in line with agreed monthly timetables and service levels to deliver payroll processing for all relevant payrolls.

Even if you don't have payroll experience, this could be an exciting opportunity to learn something new, as we will offer full training and the potential that you could do a Level 3 payroll qualification whilst working.

In this role, you will:

• Act as a first point of contact for payroll-related queries.
• Process end-to-end payroll (starters, leavers, changes, variance checking, etc).
• Respond to enquiries (by phone, email, online) from payees and payroll customers on a timely basis, demonstrating high levels of customer service.
• Undertake payroll processing tasks including PAYE, NI, student loans, childcare vouchers, cycle to work scheme, parental leave, statutory payments, court orders, GAYE, other personal deductions, and tax year start/tax year end, etc.
• Be proactive to meet payroll deadlines.

To be successful in this role, you'll need to:

• Demonstrate initiative to work independently and also be part of a team.

• Have meticulous attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.

• A salary of £34,801 per annum, plus age-related pension contributions between 8-15% of salary. We will also match any pension contributions you make up to an additional 3% of your salary.

You’ll work with internal systems and sector datasets (plus third‑party sources like population data) to build the reporting that helps hospices compare services, reach underserved communities, and make better decisions. 

We’ve recently invested in modern Microsoft data tools and updated our key systems to provide the foundations for the future. This is a chance to define how we use data for the long term, from engineering robust pipelines to creating the dashboards leaders rely on every day. 

In the short term, your focus will be: 

• Overseeing the introduction of a new member data collection portal being developed by a third-party organisation.
• Developing, deploying and improving our internal performance reporting and hospice sector reporting using Power BI and related Microsoft tools.

You’ll be passionate about data and using it to improve decision making and operational processes. You’ll be able to engage with colleagues at all levels to understand their needs, champion good data management and reporting practices, and provide technical advice and guidance.

You’ll join a high performing ICT and Data team of 8 colleagues.

Your role

The fundraising and communications group at CMS has ambitious goals and targets and you’ll play a key role in helping successfully deliver on these. You’ll harness the huge potential of social media and other digital platforms to help CMS get the attention of our target audiences, build brand awareness, raise money and recruit people to our mission programmes. As well as having a strong working knowledge of social media platforms, you will need to be able to create and edit video as well as other forms of compelling content.

It is essential that the post holder has proven social media, organic and paid content production experience, including video creation, and knowledge of social media posting and interaction via Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and X in an organisational context.

The postholder will support adults with learning disabilities and/or autism to have their voices heard, engage in the community, and influence the services they use. Key responsibilities include:

• Organising Mystery Shops: Plan and run mystery shopping activities to ensure members experience high-quality services from statutory and other organisations, providing timely feedback to help providers improve.

• Coordinating Speak Out Meetings: Organise and facilitate monthly Speak Out campaign meetings and support members’ participation in LD Partnership Board meetings.

• Supporting Campaign Participation: Assist members to take part in and report on campaigns at Borough, Londonwide, and UK levels, with the aim of improving services for adults with learning disabilities.

• Supporting Consultations: Help members engage in consultations at local, regional, and national levels, ensuring their views are captured and communicated effectively.

We are seeking someone who can empower our members to stand up for themselves, share their opinions, and actively participate in community life. Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential, alongside a good understanding of the challenges faced by adults with learning disabilities and/or autism. This role is central to helping members Speak Out in Hounslow and increasing their visibility and influence as valued community members.

Main duties and responsibilities 

• Provide a full welfare benefits casework service for people affected by ME, fibromyalgia and long Covid, including disability benefits and other sources of financial support, such as grants. This will cover benefits check, first claims, mandatory reconsiderations and appeals; supporting clients to understand their options and making informed choices.

• Act for the client where necessary; drafting letters, obtaining medical evidence and researching case law as appropriate.

• Maintain detailed case records for the purpose of continuity of casework, and information retrieval, using the IT software provided.

• Liaise and negotiate with other statutory and voluntary organisations to progress the client’s case and ensure they receive all assistance available. (DWP, NHS, local authorities, other charities)

• Form effective working relationships with outreach agencies and other relevant stakeholders to ensure that good service is being provided and awareness of the illnesses is raised.

• Refer clients to colleagues or other agencies as appropriate for specialist help with major issues that fall outside the remit of the service, including debt and employment.

• Support the promotion and marketing of the advice services of Sheffield ME & Fibromyalgia Group

• Collect feedback from members for service improvement and for our funders

• Contribute to team meetings, reflective practice sessions and work with colleagues to ensure members access support from across our offering (befriending, activities, support groups)

• Any other duties within the scope of the post as deemed appropriate

Our Fundraising Assistant will provide key administrative support to the Fundraising Team. Being based primarily at our Shrewsbury office, this person will be a key point of contact for our supporters in the office, and will assist with managing online fundraising platforms, email and phone communications and ensuring fundraising materials are ready and waiting to go out into the community.

This person will also work closely with our Operations Team, ensuring that they have the information they need to process donations accurately, and that our valued supporters are thanked in a timely manner. They will form part of a rota with Operations colleagues to ensure all Reception desks are staffed as required.

They will be friendly, able to communicate well with people across the community, including those living with cancer or who are bereaved. They will also be collaborative, detail-focussed and willing to work with others to solve problems.

We are looking for someone to work 22.5 hours per week; this can be worked in a flexible pattern as agreed, within office hours and across at least three working days. This role can be worked within school hours across five days if required. This role will be based primarily at our office at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital but will need to work at our other sites within Shropshire, Telford and Mid Wales on occasion.
