Job description

 Mind in Tower Hamlets, Newham and Redbridge are working in partnership with Stepney and Wapping Primary Care Network’s Neighbourhood Team to support the Transformation of Mental Health Services across Tower Hamlets.

Tower Hamlets is one of the pilot Boroughs to implement the Community Mental Health Framework which aim is to redesign the offer to support people with serious mental illness (SMI) to not just get back on track with their lives but to be happier and more fulfilled.

The programme is grounded in a population health approach to SMI, delivered through and with Primary Care Networks in Tower Hamlets, with an ambitious vision to support more patients closer to home and reduce the stigma and fragmentation in existing services.

Purpose of the role

 The Community Connector will be responsible for working within the Neighbourhood Team within Stepney and Wapping PCN to ensure that people with SMI are able to live fulfilled lives through offering of one-to-one support to set goals towards their aspirations, needs and to offer hope and choice using a range of skill, knowledge and tools to achieve this. The community connector is seen as valuable asset to our neighbourhoods and act us a local expert, gathering and sharing information about local services.

The post holder will work collaborative and in partnership with the Multi-Disciplinary Teams and local Services and Community Groups to create pathways of support for people and to will act as the ‘glue’, linking people in with experts and local assets, and undertaking support work in partnership with external stakeholders to complement their interventions. The post holder will support people to identify the wider issues that impact on their health and wellbeing, such as debt, poor housing, employment circumstances and unemployment, loneliness, isolation and caring responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

 Case Management

 · To support and offer opportunities for the involvement of people with lived experience of mental health in the design, delivery and monitoring of services.

· To conduct regular innovative and engaging sessions (virtually or in person) in order to work towards support plan goals.

· To use a range of tools and skills such as health coaching and motivational interviewing techniques, identify barriers to people accessing services, and work with service users to overcome these.

Community Development

 · Develop productive relationships with local partner organisations to improve service outcomes, and involve service users and carers in the design, development, and delivery of the service.

· Triage referrals and signpost to specialist support quickly where necessary, and deal with general queries to contribute to the overall smooth running of the neighbourhood team.

Monitoring and Compliance

 · Ensure accurate and timely record keeping and data collection in line with MindTHNR’s and ELFT’s policies and procedures

· obtain and collate feedback from services user and their carers and ensure that these are recorded and shared with Neighbourhood Team and MindTHNR

· Maintain confidentiality and ensure that information is stored according to Mind in Tower Hamlets, Newham and Redbridge policies and service guidelines, GDPR and data compliance.

 General

 · Act as an ambassador and represent Mind in Tower Hamlets, Newham and Redbridge at external functions, events, giving talks and presentations to inform and inspire.

· Comply with, promote, and contribute to the development of MindTHNR’s: Aims and Values, Equality, Diversity and Inclusive principles and all organisational policies.

You must have:

· To have attained a minimum Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent

· Demonstrable and substantial experience of providing 1:1 support in mental health within voluntary or statutory settings

· Good knowledge and understanding of the diverse population in East London, their needs, complexities and the inequalities they may experience

· Experience of setting up and facilitating wellbeing groups and activities and delivering monitoring and evaluation activities in a 1:1 or group setting

· Experience of working collaboratively with local people, community, and statutory organisations with a working knowledge of the principles of co-production, involvement, and peer work within mental health services

· Experience of using skills and tools such as coaching or motivational interviewing techniques

· Demonstrable ability to engage with people from all backgrounds and a commitment to Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion practices.

VCSE Research & Insight Worker

In October 2022 Salford City Council commissioned Salford CVS to undertake research into the strengths of the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector as part of their Joint Needs and Strengths Assessment.

Every three years since 2008, Salford CVS leads on State of the VCSE Sector research in Salford and also across Greater Manchester. Working with other local infrastructure organisations, we aim to provide a comprehensive overview of the VCSE sector. Our last research report was published in 2021 and we have started planning for the research to be conducted this year.

In August 2023 we further developed our VCSE sector research and insight work with the commencement of our Salford 99 longitudinal study. This research project is designed to understand the issues affecting the VCSE sector in Salford and aims to track 99 VCSE organisations every six months for a three-year period, so that we gain ‘live’ insight in between our three-yearly State of the VCSE sector large research project. Alongside this work we conduct a Pulse Check survey with a variety of VCSE organisations to get a snapshot of what is changing for them each quarter.

This exciting VCS Research and Insight role involves a combination of VCSE engagement and insight work across Salford.

We’re looking for someone to train as a Community Energy Champion to be able to provide energy advice to people in communities.

You will visit clients at home to complete Home Energy Audits, providing information and individualised support, and facilitating access to options which will improve people’s wellbeing and energy security. This will include recommending grants and helping complete applications and forms.  

As a Community Energy Champion, you will deliver face-to-face and virtual energy workshops to parent groups, carers groups, community groups and others. There is also the opportunity to  work with energy and water providers and other organisations to arrange themed workshop sessions.

This role will suit someone with excellent communication, planning skills, time management and an adaptable working style. Richmond Fellowship is part of Recovery Focus, a national group of charities highly experienced in providing specialist support services to individuals and families living with the effects of mental ill health, drug and alcohol use, gambling and domestic violence. We are seeking a highly experienced Trusts and Foundations fundraising consultant to spearhead the Trusts programme at Dreams Come True. As an excellent communicator, influencer, and relationship builder, you will have a proven track record of successful fundraising in this area: ideally securing between 6 and 7-figure gifts.
The successful individual must clearly understand what is meant by a strong brand / charity proposition and have clear evidence of creating and delivering compelling cases for support, with strong examples of this resulting in successful grants to the value of £50-£100k.

• Provide a comprehensive independent living advice service to people experiencing difficulties with day-to-day living, mobility, and self-care, or to those caring for someone in this situation, ensuring they have sufficient and appropriate information to make informed choices, working in a way which empowers them to take and maintain control of their own lives
• Complete person-centred and holistic assessments, using information from Occupational Therapists and other health and social care professionals as necessary, to establish their eligibility for support services in their area, and provide advice on support options available to people via statutory, charitable, and private sources.
• Provide a person-centred support service within a designated region to include some home visits, and other face-to-face activities in local communities as required.
• Manage a diverse and often complex caseload covering matters relating to care assessments and care fees, Disabled Facilities Grants, equipment and minor adaptations, Direct Payments, personal budgets, disability advocacy, and access to other funding streams as appropriate.

Primary location of role and hybrid working

Title: Retail Manager
Salary: £16,656.64 pro rata, per annum
Hours/Contract : 28 hours per week, Permanent, Part time

What we are looking for:
- Sales & Stock Generation. Where you'll get to be creative, always looking for opportunities to attract new customers/supporters every day.
- Management of Staff and Volunteers. You'll get to work with some amazing people. Taking the lead in recruiting, training, managing and supporting volunteers to ensure the effective operation of the shop.
- Administration. You will ensure all financial reporting and management, cash handling, daily banking and security procedures are followed.
