The Human Resources department provides a strategic and operational HR service to the seven National Church Institutions (NCIs) and the 42 Diocesan Bishops' offices. Our HR Operations team focusses on the entire employee lifecycle providing support, advice and guidance to senior leaders, line managers and staff. The Organisational Development team lead on culture, values, wellbeing, development, and our belonging & inclusion strategy. Through our External Service team, we also offer HR support on a consultancy basis to other Church of England organisations including our dioceses and cathedrals.

We encourage flexible working within the team, with hybrid working meaning we work from the office 1 day per week on average. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a keen interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources to study a CIPD qualification whilst working in an HR role on a fixed-term basis for 18 months. Working as part of our HR Operations team, you will be involved in providing an outstanding proactive and professional HR service to staff and managers across the National Church Institutions, and other organisations within the Church of England.

In this role, you will be the day-to-day HR contact for NCI Staff, supporting both the HR Operations Manager and HR Business Partners. You will be required to meet staff and be a visible HR presence in our London Office.

Undertake and complete a Level 3 CIPD HR Apprenticeship and apply learnings and best practice to the role. You will be mentored by a member of the HR team and support will be offered to fulfil the requirements of the Apprenticeship scheme.

• You will need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work with accuracy and attention to detail, including working with numerical data.
• You will have an enthusiastic, flexible, and highly organised approach to work, with the ability to understand and process high volumes of information.
• You will need experience of using Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel in a work-based context, as well as HR Information Systems (ideally Oracle HCM). SharePoint experience would also be an advantage.
• This role will require the postholder to work from our London office in Westminster London once a week on average (currently Wednesdays).
• This is a fixed-term contract for 18 months.

To meet the apprenticeship entry requirements, you will need to have:

• Academic ability to meet the entry requirements of the Level 3 apprentice course attached to this apprenticeship and to attend and undertake the studying and course work required to complete the course.
• Educated to at least GCSE standard, with GCSE grade 4/C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent) or ability to work towards level 2 Maths and English/GCSE 4/C grade.

Funding secured will support capital projects, academic posts, innovative research and enable talented students to undertake further studies at Oxford. To achieve this, you will have the support of excellent colleagues across DAE as well as wider academic, departmental and professional service staff at Oxford.

About you

You are an experienced philanthropic fundraiser with a strong track record of securing major gifts, a confident approach and the ability to think creatively. Your ability to build rapport and relationships swiftly will enable you to lead on major gift fundraising (securing donations of £500k-£1m+), working with a range of donors (corporates, trusts and foundations). Your ability to establish credibility and foster trust across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders will be key to your success. Your strong experience of building philanthropic partnerships with organisation donors will be key. Experience of work in higher education is desirable. About the role

We are currently looking for a Volunteer Support Manager to join our innovative Young People, Volunteer and Business Support Directorate. Our Sunflower Appeal launched in June 2025 and aims to raise £5million by 2029 to open a new cancer centre at the Princess Royal Hospital, Telford. This will double chemotherapy capacity in the region, as well as adding outpatient clinics and diagnostic facilities for the first time in Telford. This is our biggest appeal to date, and we need to make sure that our fundraising team is robust and able to rise to this challenge.

We’re looking for people to support our amazing community of fundraisers and donors in the following areas:

- Corporate- we work with business from around our region, building long-term charity partnerships, engaging them in supporting events, and involving their teams in volunteering opportunities. One of our new team members will help us build on our programme of corporate engagement, looking across the region to identify and engage new supporters, as well as working closely with our existing friends in the business community. This role can be based at either our Shrewsbury or Telford office.

- Community- Community fundraising is at the heart of our charity, and we are constantly amazed by the commitment and creativity of our supporters across the region. We are looking for another member of our team to support community fundraising and make sure our community have a brilliant experience with us. This role will have a specific focus on building our support in Telford & Wrekin and will be based primarily in our Telford office.

Our Fundraisers need to be able to build successful relationships and will be motivated to make a real difference to their local community through their fundraising efforts. Job Title: Funding and Income Generation Manager

This is an exciting opportunity to join the organisation in a newly created role at a time when
we’re looking to redesign our fund-raising activities through a mixture of activities and
events, sourcing new and nurturing current corporate partnerships and developing

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will work in partnership with the current Grant Funding

Centre Leaders are based at one of our IntoUniversity learning centres and work directly with young people, schools and families on a daily basis. It is therefore not a hybrid role and is based full-time in our centres

The role requires intermittent travel in your region (usually within the day). Periodic travel out of the area is also required e.g. to London, this may include occasional overnight stays. 

Salary

£36,400 per annum.

Annual leave
33 days (inc bank & public holidays) + 3 closure days (two in December and one in July) + additional length of service entitlement (one day per year of service, up to 5 days)

We’re looking for a motivated Health & Wellbeing Coordinator to lead our Bromley-based team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a direct impact by supporting adults to take control of their health and wellbeing. You’ll manage a small team, design and deliver innovative self-management workshops, and ensure our services remain person-centred and evidence-led.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead the Long-Term Health Conditions team, including line management and reporting.

• Develop and deliver lifestyle self-management workshops for over 200 adults each year.

• Support behaviour change by helping individuals build knowledge, skills, and confidence.

• Work closely with partners to ensure seamless signposting and cross-referrals.

• Manage outreach to hard-to-reach groups, including global majority communities.

• Track progress, maintain accurate records, and shape future delivery through client feedback.

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated major gifts fundraiser to join our small fundraising team to contribute to our ambitious goal to raise £20 million across 4 years – our Be the Spark campaign.

You will need to be a collaborative self-starter who wants to make an impact, working at all levels of the organisation to build and develop the relationships that will enable the Ri to succeed. You will be used to identifying, researching and managing a portfolio of major donors or high value clients and comfortable working with donors at the highest levels.

This role is responsible for driving major donor engagement and income by proactively identifying and cultivating new supporters aligned with our mission.

The postholder will work collaboratively across the Ri and fundraising team to build strong relationships, develop innovative and compelling proposals, and deliver exceptional account management and stewardship to existing donors. Key responsibilities include researching, developing and cultivating new prospects, building a strong major gifts pipeline, visiting donors and prospects, and advising colleagues on best practice for stewarding major donors throughout their relationship with the Ri.

If you are a warm, professional and engaging communicator, adept at managing a portfolio of high-net-worth donors and able to cultivate and develop influential relationships, we would love to hear from you. 

This role is part time (21 hours), permanent and will require a willingness to undertake occasional travel, evenings and occasional weekends. Requests to work flexibly or part-time will be considered.

Main responsibilities

• Owning and managing a portfolio of major donors, building strong, long-term relationships and serving as their primary point of contact.
• Devising and delivering tailored stewardship journeys for each donor in the portfolio, ensuring personalised engagement
• Securing repeat and increased support
• Proactive identification and researching of new major donor prospects, and building a strong pipeline for cultivation
• Maintaining major donor engagement levels through regular communications and meetings and maintaining CRM records.
• Developing a fledgling giving circle aligned to the Be the Spark campaign.
• Monitoring and managing a budget, reporting to the board and analysing performance against agreed KPIs.
• Supporting and empowering other teams at the Ri to enhance major donor relationships.
• Collaborating with the events teams to ensure that major donors receive an exceptional experience at all Ri events and activities.

About you:

Essential:

• Experience of identifying, researching, pitching to and managing a portfolio of major donors or high value clients and comfortable working with donors at the highest levels.
• Confidence in talking fluently about money in a professional environment and working with donors at the highest levels
• Proven experience of building excellent relationships and networks both internally and externally
• Experience of managing relationships with donors or high value clients
• Demonstrable experience of maximising opportunities from researching prospects to generating meetings, and securing income 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

Desirable:

• Substantial demonstrable experience working in a fundraising position for a charity or educational organisation. 
• Experience of organising small to medium sized events for major donors and prospects
• Experience leading a giving club or members networking group
• Patron/Major Donor/Legacy fundraising experience, securing 6-figure donations.
