Recruitment and Onboarding Officer

Salary: £37,957 p.a.
Location: Hybrid Working - Remote / London
Position Type: Fixed Term (12 Months), Full Time (35 hpw)

The Royal College of Anaesthetists is the professional body responsible for the specialty throughout the UK. We are the third largest medical royal college in the UK by membership. With a combined membership of more than 24,000 Fellows and Members, we ensure the quality of patient care by safeguarding standards in the three specialties of anaesthesia, intensive care and pain medicine.

The role:

The Recruitment and Onboarding Officer will play a crucial role in attracting, sourcing and securing top talent for the College.

This is a dynamic and fast paced role, providing and developing a comprehensive and first-class recruitment and onboarding experience to the College and all prospective candidates. You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end recruitment process, building strong relationships with hiring managers and ensuring a positive candidate experience.

Key tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Managing the end-to-end process for all vacancies within the College, and being the first point of contact for all recruitment queries and advice
  • Being the main point of contact for all new starters and ensuring their onboarding runs smoothly and without delay
  • Developing a contemporary and well considered induction that provides new employees with a positive and innovative onboarding experience
  • Producing a monthly recruitment and onboarding report, against agreed measures including (but not limited to) number of vacancies, time to hire, source and number of applications etc.
  • Reviewing and making recommends for improvements / enhancements to the College’s recruitment systems, processes and/or policies, ensuring that they are contemporary, innovative and EDI focused

About you:

We are looking for someone with the following experience, knowledge, and skills:

  • Comprehensive experience in recruitment along with a deep knowledge of the screening, interviewing and hiring processes with a successful track record in full – cycle recruitment
  • Familiarity with contemporary candidate sourcing platforms and best practice
  • Experience of dealing professionally with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and the ability to form good working relationships at all levels
  • Experience of managing and administering various HRIS or Recruitment Management System (RMS)
  • Ability to work independently and proactively as part of a small team
  • Proven organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Understanding of HR legislation, policy, and best practice
  • Intermediate level skills with Microsoft software, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and Outlook
