CPRE Kent is an independent charity, federated with more than 40 CPRE county branches and the national CPRE organisation, giving us local, regional and national reach. The Director will work with our trustees, staff and network of volunteers to formulate local strategy, run local campaigns and liaise with national CPRE.

We are looking for an exceptional individual who can work with and motivate volunteers, take a strategic view on issues affecting Kent’s countryside and represent CPRE at County and National forums and via social, local and national media. The role also involves management of the staff team.

We are looking to fill a full-time post at a salary of circa £55k per annum. However, we would be prepared to consider appointing a 4-day-per-week post at a pro rata salary.

Key Responsibilities

Person Specification

Qualifications:

· Degree in any related field or equivalent work experience.

· Relevant safeguarding certifications covering both children and young people (CYP) and adult safeguarding and protection.

· In depth evidence of comprehensive CPD and how you would deploy this knowledge in post

Experience:

· Extensive experience in a senior leadership role focused on safeguarding across large and complex organisations delivering services, in equal measure, for CYP and adults.

· Evidence of significant experience in delivering on each of the key responsibilities in depth.

· Proven track record in developing, implementing, and evaluating safeguarding policies, procedures, and training programmes.

· Experience managing and influencing teams and individuals on complex safeguarding cases, including conducting risk assessments and coordinating with external agencies.

Skills:

The Chief Officer will promote and represent Shepway Citizens Advice by working actively and constructively with external partners and local agencies. They will need to maintain and develop our existing relationships with funders and identify new sources of funding and resources.

For over 40 years, Being There, a medium sized charity, has provided practical, emotional and social support to those affected by life limiting illnesses across much of Greater Manchester. The services of the charity are delivered by an enthusiastic cohort of volunteers managed by an established and capable management team.

After steering Being There though the Pandemic and the recent economic impact on charities, our long serving CEO, Karen Mercer, is retiring. We are therefore looking to recruit a new leader for our team.

Parents 1st UK is dedicated to enabling quality peer support to flourish during pregnancy, birth and beyond. The evidence is clear - effective and sustainable peer support nurtures the emotional wellbeing of mothers, fathers, partners, and babies, and builds strengths in communities. We work both locally and nationally to achieve this aim.

Our national work: Through an ‘open source’ online community platform, we provide all the resources necessary to set up a perinatal peer support initiative. Freely sharing all the tools that our local programme (Parents 1st Essex) uses in daily practice, from budget setting to volunteer training guides and impact tracking. Working with commissioners and providers, Parents 1st UK also provides consultancy and workshops to help build new perinatal peer support initiatives in communities.

Our local work: Parents 1st Essex currently operates in South and North Essex, delivering perinatal peer support to parents, through 1-1 or group support. Peer supporters engage and develop trusting relationships with parents during pregnancy, continue support through birth and the first few months afterwards.

Alongside this, Parents 1st UK also leads the Essex Peer to Parent Network, a peer support collaborative that aims to develop a hub of good practice across Essex. The Peer to Parent Network employs 4 Peer Support Link Workers who work alongside the local maternity units in Essex, helping parents to access peer support during pregnancy or anytime during the first year after birth.

Summary

Salary: £50-55k

Location: This role can be home based, although weekly travel to head office in Milton Keynes will be required.

NEF Summary:

At the National Energy Foundation, our team is forward thinking in its approach to home energy and uses its influence and projects to make meaningful change. Our primary focus is delivering projects aimed at alleviating fuel poverty and helping residents to feel warmer, healthier and more comfortable in their homes whilst also helping them cut the cost of their fuel bills. In the next five years, we will seek to help more than 170,000 households out of fuel poverty. Beyond this, we seek to encourage homeowners to make improvements to their homes to increase energy efficiency. To enable this, we deliver several projects aimed at encouraging retrofit of energy efficient heating systems into UK homes.

Job Role

The Finance Director will work with the CEO and the Finance team to collaboratively drive the development and delivery of the NEF’s strategic plans and budgets. The Finance Director will be a member of the NEF’s Senior Management Team (SMT) and will attend the quarterly Trustee Meetings.

Not only will the Finance Director take accountability for the day-to-day transaction processing, ably supported by an effective Finance Team of 3 people, they will take the lead on the budgeting, planning and analysis processes, developing a range of processes and reports to enable effective decision making.

The Finance Director will be the key contact for and work with the auditors, HMRC and other professional advisors and regulatory bodies to ensure that the organisation remains compliant and fulfils its legal responsibilities.

Management

o Manage the Finance function, providing leadership and support to the Finance Manager and their team of 2 analysts to ensure they are all able to carry out their responsibilities to the required standard.

o Provide strategic financial guidance to ensure that the NEF meets all its objectives.

o Contribute to the company’s overall business objectives and guide on financial strategy.

o Act as support and “Critical Friend” to the CEO, deputising for them where required.

Audit, Accounting & Reporting

o Take accountability for the production of timely and accurate financial reports, meeting the deadlines set by the CEO and the Trustees.

o Take accountability for all transaction processing including payroll, invoicing customers, and supplier invoice payments.

o Continually develop the reporting output to ensure that it meets the ever-changing requirements of the NEF and its Trustees.

o Be accountable for all finance systems, making recommendations for their development and implementing changes as necessary.

o Maintain relationships with the auditors, the banks, and other professional bodies.

o Work with the CEO and Trustees to compile and submit the Statutory Accounts and associated documentation.

Budgeting Planning & Analysis

o Work closely with the Finance Manager and the COO in monitoring the financial performance of the projects and NEF central costs.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Head of Operations and Development (HOD) will play a pivotal role in taking our work to its next stage, helping us deliver even greater impact across our community.

With ultimate decision making responsibility for the charity the HOD will work alongside the Head of Counselling and Head of Training,  overseeing the smooth running of day-to-day operations at the Centre while also nurturing opportunities for commercial growth by supporting the fundraising strategy and targeted expansion of our service offering.

Elders Voice is a local charity serving older people in Brent. We are recruiting a CEO to lead our talented and experienced staff team through a period of change to ensure our financial security.

Elders Voice is an established and trusted charity in the heart of Kensal Green. We believe ageing should be a wonderful and worthwhile journey, but for that to happen older people need to feel safe and happy in their homes and have access to affordable activities in an environment that embraces their differences. 

The pillars of our work are a well-respected handyperson service and a day centre offering a range of activities focusing on health and well-being, socialising, art, gardening and intergenerational work with and for older people.

The CEO will need to embrace our aims and lead the EV team to provide services based on holistic, long-term, high-quality relationships and to ensure that older people shape development of our services. In this difficult economic environment, we need to explore new funding opportunities and transition away from a reliance on local authority funding.

You will report directly to the Chair of the Board of Trustees and be supported by the board and a small, dedicated staff team.

Your role:

• To lead the staff team to deliver excellent services for older people in Brent.
• To ensure the financial stability of Elders Voice.
• To work with the board of trustees to develop and deliver the strategic plan.
• To act as an ambassador for Elders Voice and the older people we represent.

We are looking to appoint a unique leader who will help make a difference to the lives of over 2 million people who live in north east London.

As a partnership of the diverse voluntary, community and social enterprise sector across north east London and the Integrated Care Board we collaborate to ensure that the design and delivery of health and care services works for residents across north east London. We are now seeking a motivated and creative individual to lead the next steps in the development of the North East London Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Sector Collaborative (the VCSE Collaborative) as part of the sub-regional Integrated Care System.

The position will be hosted by Tower Hamlets CVS although the post holder will be accountable to the VCSE Collaborative Leadership Group and will be expected to work equitably across the north east London sub-region.

Core responsibilities

To develop the VCSE Collaborative and its infrastructure, including terms of reference and onboarding strategy, in consultation with the existing Leadership Group 

To be an enabler and a conduit for the development and embedding of robust partnership working within all levels of the new health and social care structures, translating opportunities into actions for VCS Collaborative members. 

To support the facilitation of strategic working between the VCSE sector and partners within the NEL Integrated Care System, supporting communication and engagement.

To support collaboration with the NEL Integrated Care System to ensure people and communities feed into decision-making mechanisms.

To be the first point of contact for liaison between the VCS, the NHS and local authority bodies, supporting effective dialogue and communication between all partners across NEL Integrated Care System. 

To facilitate shared learning, intelligence and good practice across sectors.

To facilitate effective and accessible communication and engagement on behalf of the VCSE Collaborative e.g., blogs, briefings, press releases and newsletters, and developing and embedding the necessary systems and tools to ensure the flow of information and intelligence across the NEL Integrated Care System and to give voice to the VCSE Collaborative   

To provide secretariat support to the VCSE Collaborative Leadership Group, ensuring effective planning, and timely preparation and circulation of papers for all meetings

To respond to management support from Tower Hamlets CVS.
