About the opportunity
This is an exciting time to join the Audience Insight team, part of the Brand and Communications function within the Income and Engagement directorate. Since the relaunch of our brand, Alzheimer’s Society has gone from strength to strength using audience insight to inform strategic decisions at the highest level of the organisation.
The scope of our work is wide-ranging. We lead on market research projects across the Society, supporting not just Income and Engagement, but also Research, Influencing, and Services. One day you might be supporting a local services initiative, the next you could be testing advertising and communications, and the next collaborating on the UK’s largest research study involving people affected by dementia.
Over the past year, we’ve delivered a diverse mix of qualitative and quantitative projects, both internally and through external agencies. We use cutting-edge techniques, including neuroscience and behavioural science, to generate impactful insights that drive change across the charity.
You’ll be joining a team of three dedicated market research professionals and will have line management responsibilities.
About you
You will:
- Have a minimum of 7 years’ experience in market research, either client side or agency side

Bereavement Support Services Lead (Digital). This is a rewarding and key role in the Bereavement Support Services team. The team provides a wide range of services, including the Helpline, Online Community, memory making, and print materials. The aim of this post is to provide operational and line management so that the BSS team can provide consistent, high-quality emotional support to bereaved families who seek support from Sands, as well as supervising the work of the Bereavement Support Officers on the frontline. As our digital support continues to grow and develop, we are looking for someone to support and inspire the team in this expanding area, working closely with Sands’ Bereavement Support Digital Coordinator. The Bereavement Support Services Team offers 1-2-1 support via telephone, email and other digital channels, and is usually open from 10-3 from Monday to Friday and 6-9pm from Tuesday to Thursday with occasional extended opening hours. Support is also available through digital channels; our Online Community, direct messenger on Instagram and Facebook and various closed groups on Facebook which need to be regularly monitored and moderated to provide a safe, user-led space accessible to all. In future a wider range of channels may be used. There are three Bereavement Support Leads (BSLs) including this post holder, and between them they are expected to cover all regular opening hours on a rota basis. Each shift will start 30 minutes before the helpline opens and end 30 minutes after the helpline closes, and BSLs will divide up the week in order to be present during shifts and ensure at least one BSL or the Head of BSS is available to the team 9am-4pm Monday to Friday and 5.30pm-9.30pm Tuesday to Thursday for safeguarding and general support. Role Purpose:
The Social Change Nest is going through a very exciting growth period and since our Head of Development is going on maternity leave for 4 months from September we are looking for somebody who can join our growing team as soon as possible. The Senior Development Manager will contribute to our FY25/26 income targets and cover part of the functions of the Head of Development while she’s on leave. The Head of Development manages the Development team, which covers the business development, marketing and communications functions, and works with the CEO to ensure that the organisation grows in a strategic and balanced way.
The Social Change Nest is onboarding and supporting hundreds of new groups every year and we are working closely with funders across the UK and worldwide, helping them move large amounts of funding to unincorporated movements at the frontlines of social change. We are spending more time than ever raising awareness on how capital flows impact the ability of communities to create change, and how we can hack the system to enable more money to flow in an equitable way to unincorporated movements.
We are looking for somebody who is excited about all this and ready to hit the ground running. We are in the middle of a large capital raise, so we would like the ideal candidate to join the team as soon as possible to work closely with the Head of Development and the CEO, as well as the rest of the Development team, for 3 months, before the Head of Development goes on maternity leave. The Senior Development Manager will then take over part of the team support responsibilities of the Head of Development and share responsibility for the income targets with the CEO for the months that the Head of Development is on leave.

About You

Our Location
We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. In this role, there is plenty of scope for working from home, you will be required to attend the Hatfield office once a week and monthly directorate meetings. In addition, the charity meets four times annually at its office in Hatfield (or a location in London) for its’ ‘All Staff Together’ days, at which attendance is mandatory.

Meet your Manager
In this role, you will be managed by Jamil De Dominicis. Jamil joined ClientEarth in 2019 and is based in London. As Global Head of Grants, he leads the Grants Management team and oversees ClientEarth’s grants income from trusts, foundations and other statutory and institutional funders. Prior to joining ClientEarth, Jamil worked in various policy, research and grant management roles at the international affairs think tank Chatham House and the National Foundation for Youth Music.
Main Duties
- Manage existing relationships with major foundations and other institutional funders to ensure that funders are aware of project performance and receive regular updates in compliance with grants agreements
- Oversee relationships with senior stakeholders from current and new donors; act as a key facilitator and steward of relationships between funder staff and key programme contacts
- Support on developing and executing the Grants Team Annual Plans and strategy
- Oversee the development and production of well researched and comprehensive proposals and reports to existing donors that meet funding priorities and requirements within the submission deadline, in coordination with programme staff
- Line manage their team effectively by ensuring the Managers and Officers have support and are empowered to lead on their funding portfolios

Job Summary
The Finance Business Partner in Volunteering is responsible for providing the first line of support and assistance with the development of financial plans, analysis of the financial performance and forecasts of the Adult Volunteering area, in order to provide high quality business insight to both support and influence strategic decision making by St John’s management teams. They will be a key member of the Financial Planning and Insight team to ensure delivery of the annual three-year budgeting process, that is aligned to strategic operational plans. This will require regularly meeting with relevant stakeholders to critically review and challenge reported performance against agreed plans. This role will not only look after the Adult Volunteering part of the organisation but support some other overheads/areas within the organisation.
About You
You are a fully qualified professional accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA). Ideally you have gained experience in the charity sector and large complex organisations. You can demonstrate previous experience in a finance business partner role with a track record of supporting the end-to-end processes for in-year forecasts and annual budgets and three-year plans that are aligned to business strategy. You have significant experience in managing the day-to-day, monthly and annual production of management accounting processes. To be successful you can demonstrate excellent skills in influencing with confidence and gravitas to respectfully challenge. You are naturally curious with a genuine interest in change and technology. You take personal ownership and possess a flexible 'can do' mind set and you are able to build and maintain effective networks both internally and externally.
About the Role
- Deliver high quality business and financial analysis, with detailed outcomes and benefits, to identify and present coherent rationales for change, to support continued coordinated, consistent and effective delivery of services across St John
- Provide impactful and effective finance business partnering to St John Budget Holders, the Senior Management and Executive Teams

The purpose of the role is to engage people in a variety of interventions, using a person centred approach, empowering them to reduce risk, increase resilience and achieve positive outcomes.
All Complex Needs Practitioners (Recovery Worker) work flexibly across the community and within our multi-agency partnership settings. The caseload will include a mixture of community and multi-agency referral pathways including health and social care. You will join our caring multi-disciplinary teams, to help empower you to provide quality psychosocial interventions to our diverse client groups.
A core part of the role will be working with people to address holistic support needs across all aspects of the person’s substance use and wellbeing. This could include diverse work related to physical and emotional health, meaningful use of time, family and relationships, community engagement and activities, accommodation, physical and emotional health, offending as well as substance use (drug use and / or alcohol use).
An energetic and confident self-starter, you have a qualification in health/social care, youth and community work (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or above, DipSW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies). Alternatively, we’ll consider candidates with experience of working in the substance misuse field with a commitment to complete NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care. Experience of liaising with voluntary and statutory agencies and health professionals and engaging effectively with clients in a variety of settings is essential. You’ll also need a flexible approach, excellent record keeping and report writing skills and a willingness to work flexibly across the community and within our multi-agency partnership settings, on an outreach basis, with a central hub base at our head office.
