Family Support Foster Carer
Overview
The family support foster carers (FSFCs) mentor their families and offer short breaks for children, offering stability and giving parents time to address their challenges with support. They provide feedback on their involvement with the families during review meetings.
The FSFCs could be experienced foster carers within the service who want to develop their skills and explore a new opportunity within fostering. Alternatively, they can be recruited specifically to this role in SUSD but must gain approval prior to commencing in the role. Is it imperative that the FSFCs have the skills and commitment to working with both parents and children as part of the SUSD programme. A role description for the FSFC is included in this pack.
Role and Responsibilities
The key aspects of the role are to
- provide weekly mentoring support for parents who are referred to SUSD. There is maximum caseload of 4 families at any one time.
- support the family to set and review goals, using our Person Centred Planning app.
- provide one planned short break each month for each referred child.
- offer crisis response support to families in the form of phone calls, visits or crisis short breaks.
- attend training provided by The Fostering Network & the Local Authority, enabling the FSFC to provide training and support to families.
- help with family activities, such as outings, family activities, summer schemes and residentials
The Family Support Foster Carer will be required to record details of the support provided, sharing with the supervising social worker as appropriate. During weeks that the FSFC has attend a review or support meeting for a family, they will not be required to complete another mentoring session with that family.
Working with parents and families
Families are referred to Step Up Step Down by their social worker. The scheme is voluntary, and families are empowered to decide whether they want the support. SUSD support has 4 primary aspects:
- mentoring for parents
- short breaks for children
- family activities
- community supports.
SUSD Mentoring Sessions are based upon areas of identified need. These are decided through the referral process and the initial planning meeting and are reviewed every three months throughout the duration of SUSD support. The key areas of support are: Routines, Budgeting, Healthy Living, Mental and Physical Wellbeing, Behaviour Management, Access to supports, Family Relationships, Dealing with Crisis Situations, Play and Stimulation.
The FSFC will also be required to give updates and share progress at review meetings. Information required will be:
- number of parent mentoring sessions since the previous SUSD review (including cancelations), and details of the work covered with the parent;
- number of short breaks since the previous review, and details of activities;
- any and all other support given to the family.
Support for the Family Support Foster Carer
Personal development and self-care is important, as we know that the best supporters are well supported themselves. There are several ways that SUSD will support the FSFCs.
- There will be regular supervision where they can discuss complex cases or raise any issues.
- FSFCs will be encouraged to attend training that will support them in the role, and to take an active role in identifying what this training should be.
- Quarterly carer support sessions are organised to enable the FSFCs & other SUSD team members to meet and learn from each other.
- FSFCs are also encouraged to form informal peer support networks.
Service: Children's Services
Salary: To receive a minimum allowance of £19,700, up to a maximum of £32,700 per annum
Please note, this is a self employed role and you will receive a weekly allowance. As a registered foster carer you will qualify for Qualifiying Care Relief and can earn up to £18,000 before paying tax.

DFN Project SEARCH offer an evidence-based supported internship model which takes place entirely in the workplace. About Us
CAP sets up and supports local partnerships that aim to reduce alcohol harm in children and young people, improve their health and well-being and enhance their communities. Our mission is to create an alcohol-free childhood for all children and young people.
Role Overview
The successful applicant will have a track record of building effective partnerships, the people and communication skills to involve and engage a wide range of local stakeholders and the leadership and project management skills to support projects through each phase of their lifecycle including baseline evaluation, action plan delivery, post intervention evaluation and maintenance/sustainment. After a short familiarisation period the successful applicant will be expected to oversee fast-track development of new CAPs in priority areas and take responsibility for all aspects of their management with minimal supervision.
A key requisite of the role will be the ability to forge effective public/private sector partnerships between statutory agencies, schools, youth charities and retailers following the CAP model and evaluation framework. The successful applicant may come from a police, public health, education, local authority or other relevant background.
Key Responsibilities
· Proactively identify opportunities for new CAPs and facilitate set up of new CAPs in priority areas.
· Ensure that all new CAP projects carry out appropriate and timely interventions and evaluate all activity in line with the CAP evaluation toolkit – including a baseline and post intervention evaluation.
· Raise the profile of CAPs in Scotland and ensure that their impact is recognised by key stakeholders.
Specific duties to include the following:
o Represent CAP at all operational meetings.
o Ensure that Retail of Alcohol Standards Group (RASG) member companies play a full delivery role in each CAP where they operate as businesses.

We are looking for a Research and Policy Officer (Maternity Cover) to join our expanding Policy and Research department, which also oversees the TDS Charitable Foundation. Research

The Events and Community Manager for our Mass Fundraising Team will focus and lead on:
1. New product development and innovation
2. Creating marketing plans to inspire and motive supporters to engage with RNID
3. Ensuring all RNID events and community supporters are receiving exceptional stewardship
You will be responsible for managing the events and community portfolio at RNID, constantly reviewing and optimising products whilst thinking of new ways to attract supporters to our cause.
You will:
1. Work with the Head of Mass Fundraising to develop and deliver the events and community fundraising strategy, and to budget and report on income and expenditure
2. Lead on the delivery of our third-party challenge events
3. Lead on new product development for events and community products
4. To proactively engage, source, secure and manage community fundraising relationships with local groups, clubs, organisations, school and individuals
5. To work with colleagues across RNID to maximise fundraising opportunities in the community
You will be an experienced events and community fundraiser with the ability to motivate and inspire supporters to fundraise for RNID. You will be responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating all events and community products.
You will have a natural ability to build excellent relationships especially with supporters, colleagues and suppliers. You’ll be a strong team player who is comfortable leading projects, ensuring clear and regular communication with project team members.
You will be responsible for managing the events and community income budget of £250k, which has ambitious plans for the next five years. You will put forward business cases to test and trial new products to add to our portfolio. You’ll work closely with the Marcomms team on marketing plans and with the Mass Fundraising Officer to implement multi-channel stewardship plans for our events and community supporters.

The Foundation is an education charity based in Hartlebury, Worcestershire with an honourable history. Having its roots in the Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School founded in the 16th century, it became the ‘Queen Elizabeth 1 Foundation’ charity in 1987. The charity owns and derives income from the original ‘Queen Elizabeth 1 Grammar School’ premises in Hartlebury and from its investment portfolio.
It’s key purpose is to benefit local schools and individuals by making financial awards to enhance and support educational opportunities. It seeks and considers applications from local schools or from individual pupils or students resident in the local area. We are committed to this aim and to developing our grant-making. The Foundation’s area of benefit is ‘the ancient parish of Hartlebury’, which is slightly larger than the current parish of Hartlebury.
The post will involve attending board meetings, taking and producing accurate minutes, and undertaking the accompanying administrative tasks including day-to-day banking and accounting. You will need to be able to keep well-ordered files & documents, be numerate and literate, with good typing skills, and it is essential you are fully competent using Word, Excel and Xero (or similar) accounting software.
In-person board meetings, usually six per year, take place at the Parish Hall in Hartlebury in alternate months; they are usually held from 5.30 – 7.30 p.m. Much of the working time for the role will be home-based and there is liable to be a need to store some administrative papers & documents securely in your home. There is also likely to be some written and/or phone contact with schools and individuals who make applications to the charity. You will co-ordinate liaison with the Foundation’s existing property, rent-collection and legal consultants.
The Foundation is in an important period of development, expanding its profile and its grant-making process, upgrading its online presence and moving to internet banking. The clerk’s role will be an exciting part of all these.

About the Role
As Emotional and Mental Wellbeing (EMW) Practitioner, you will offer specialist interventions to staff and volunteers seeking emotional and mental health support and will provide advice to a team of volunteer Mental Health First Aiders. Specialist support provided will include a wide range of approaches, including assessment, information, applied psychosocial interventions, health promotion, and illness prevention services. Liaison with external agencies will also be required to ensure excellent support for staff and volunteers with acute emotional and mental wellbeing needs.
About You
You will have:
· Recognised level 5, or equivalent, training or qualification in applied psychosocial interventions (e.g. coaching, counselling, psychotherapies, CBT, EFT, NLP).
· A minimum of 100 hours successful practice of applied psychosocial interventions.
· A Mental Health First Aid accreditation or equivalent.
· Experience of preparing and delivering staff development and training.
· Knowledge of current professional developments in emotional and mental wellbeing practice and/or applied psychosocial interventions.
· Ability to work as an independent professional practitioner and able to make independent decisions.
· A capacity to negotiate and manage ethical dilemmas, and to set and maintain appropriate boundaries.
