Location: Home or office (Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire) working available. This role is available fully remotely.

Hours of work: This role is offered between 15 and 36.25 hours per week. This will be discussed with candidates at the interview.

Contract: This is a temporary position. Because of the uncertainty of the availability of funding, the Company cannot at this stage confirm exactly how long this will be for and cannot guarantee you any minimum or maximum period of employment.

About the role

The Welfare Scheme Assessor will be a part of a small, but committed team with big ambitions that works cohesively and effectively together to get things done.

You’ll be an important and valued member of the team and, with the support of North Lincolnshire Citizens Advice, will be responsible for ensuring client focused outcomes are met in a pressurised environment.

You’ll be the first point of contact for residents applying for support from the welfare assistance scheme. You’ll offer applicants a holistic assessment designed to maximise household income, reduce expenditure and build greater financial wellbeing.

You’ll enable people to move as quickly as possible to problem resolution and to manage their essential needs so they are less likely to fall into debt and manage cost of living increases.

You’ll be responsible for making decisions on applications for financially based welfare support and will administer funds to households who would otherwise struggle to buy food or pay essential utility bills or meet other essential living costs.

You’ll enable people to take control of their financial wellbeing and signpost them to local statutory services and community groups that provide practical, social and emotional support.

Job Purpose:To provide administrative support for the Housing Team and to carry out general administrative tasks. To also be responsible for providing a professional and friendly welcome to all visitors and residents, providing information on services available.

Hours of work:21 hours (7 hours per day over 3 days)

Location : YMCA East Surrey, Hillbrook House, 68 Brighton Road, Redhill, Surrey, RH1 6QT.

Annual leave:  Five weeks (pro-rata) plus bank holidays. Holidays increase after two years’ service to a maximum of five weeks’ pro-rata after six years’ service. The holiday year runs from 1 April to 31 March each year.

Main responsibilities

• Provide a professional friendly welcome to all visitors and residents arriving at Hillbrook House and providing information on services and facilities available
• To deal with telephone enquiries and to put calls through to other staff, to take messages and to retrieve voicemail messages
• Ensure the visitor policy is complied with and the seen sheet is completed and kept up to date

· Collate, input and monitor data via various IT platforms

· Manage incoming client applications via guidance support and various IT platforms

· Complete and the keep the staff rota up-to-date and distribute to staff

· Filing and other administrative work as required

· Updating reception documents and maintaining contact folders

· To offer a helpful and supportive presence to residents and reporting of incidents

· Keeping tally on stock available and first aid items

· Cash transactions over the reception for resident rent and  maintain accurate receipting and accounting of all monies and credit transactions taken whilst on duty, checking floats and reconciling the till at the end of the shift

• Ensure that all keys and equipment issued are signed for and are returned and stored as appropriate
• To provide administrative support for the housing team and to carry out general administrative tasks (using Microsoft Office and other platforms)
• To be responsible for the post at the weekend, ensuring incoming post is dated, and is distributed to appropriate staff and residents and that outgoing post is processed correctly
• Any other duty requested by Housing Management

About the Service

The Youth Mental Health Navigator supports young people who have been referred to the CAMHS front door/single point of access. These young people may have accessed medical, clinical or emergency services prior to being referred to Mind BLMK. The service is suitable for people who have mental health / wellbeing needs but are not felt to be at immediate risk of suicide.

About the Role

This role will provide individualised, one to one support to young people, aged 14-17 who are currently experiencing difficulty with their mental health and wellbeing.

This post holder will be working closely with clinical colleagues in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) team offering hybrid in person and online support. The post holder will also be responsible for the development of pathways which enables young people to access services offered by the Voluntary and Community sector.

The post holder will ensure they have a good understanding of the services on offer by the Voluntary and Community sector, and other agencies, and will work with individuals to help them access services of their choice.

The Youth Mental Health Navigator will offer mental health and wellbeing support in a safe and enabling service, supporting young people to explore their challenges and identify positive mental health coping strategies, resilience skills, distress tolerance and a solution focused approach to recovery that will help to future proof against potential repeated incidences of poor mental health.

 Hours:  Currently 30 hours per week for full pay during a pilot of working a shorter week ending July 2024. Salary: £36,288 pro-rata (£29,030 for 30 hours) plus 5% pension contributions.

We have an opportunity to work for our Adult Carers Team as an Adult Carers Support Advisor. You will provide emotional and practical support to Adult Carers in the London Borough of Bromley, aligned and working closely with the integrated care networks.

• To offer emotional and practical support to build resilience for carers on a one-to one basis.
• To provide support face to face, over the phone and in group settings.
• To develop and run local support groups.
• To actively target those carers facing multiple issues, most likely to fall into crisis
• To support carers to access and where appropriate complete Carer’s Assessments
• To build and maintain a network of contacts with local service providers

• To run an active caseload within the KPI requirements of the Bromley Well contract.
• To input cases on to the Charity log system accurately
• To ensure that services are accessible to carers.
• To participate in the provision of news and the production of the Carers newsletter
• To collaborate with other Bromley Well partners, including Mencap/MIND etc. to ensure effective appropriate referral pathways for quality service provision.
• To abide by and take part in the development and review of policy and procedure for the Carers pathway.
• At all times to maintain the professional integrity and reputation of the Charity and represent their main interests in any dealings with other bodies, groups and individuals.
• Attend staff meetings, supervision and organisational events as required.
• Collect case studies to help demonstrate AGE UK Bromley and Greenwich’s Adult Carers Support service’s impact.
• To undertake any other duties commensurate with the purpose and remit of the post.
• Undertake out of hours and weekend work as the role requires for which TOIL will be granted

The Wingfield Resource Centre currently provides support for individuals experiencing mental health crisis or who require preventative support. We operate 365 days a year from 6pm to 11pm.
