We work to break the cycle of homelessness through innovative supported employment, housing solutions and free food. We gave out over 140,000 items of free food through our coffee shops, as well as providing over 331,497 meals, during our winter meals campaign 2022/2023. Social Bite is on a mission to bring people together to build a collaborative movement to end homelessness.

We are looking for a person who will grow an existing relationship with a leading hospitality partner, building and developing relationships across their portfolio of sites. The Support and Outreach Worker will be a leading role in our belief of “A Hand Up Not a Hand Out”, and has been created to improve our service to vendors, helping them to increase their income through selling our magazine and providing casework support.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Marketing Manager to join the Fundraising, Marketing & Communications team at SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity on a six-month contract. This role will support the Head of Marketing & Brand to deliver impactful, integrated marketing and brand activations with great results.
You will work on strategies and campaigns that serve the objectives of all areas within SSAFA, so your expertise will help raise awareness of crucial services, recruit volunteers, support fundraising initiatives and promote understanding of SSAFA’s work. Most notably you will develop the strategic approach and activation of a new brand proposition in the Autumn. This is an incredibly important piece of work for the charity, so the role will suit somebody with experience in driving a brand previously.
You will work collaboratively and creatively with colleagues across the Fundraising, Marketing and Communications directorate, taking briefs and translating them into finalised marketing activations. Alongside the Head of Marketing & Brand you will work closely with the rest of the team, particularly the Senior Marketing Officer.
About the team
You will be joining a well-established team of marcomms professionals, ranging from designers to case study managers and social media experts. You will have plenty of opportunity to interact with other internal departments, such as Fundraising or members of the volunteer network.
About you
To hit the ground running and carry out this role successfully you will have:
- Demonstrable experience managing marketing or brand strategies and campaigns that achieve engagement or brand visibility metrics.
- Experience of managing projects with several internal stakeholders working with either agency or in-house delivery teams.
- The ability to interrogate and understand a brief in order to develop multi-channel campaign plans and co-ordinate the creation of compelling content and collateral that resonates with audiences.
- Experience of co-ordinating post-campaign analysis reports in order to communicate achievements and performance to relevant internal stakeholders.

Last year WheelPower provided opportunities for disabled people to access and participate in sport and activity across the country on 72,165 occasions and we are looking for a new Marketing & Communications Officer to join our team so that we can help more disabled people lead active lives.
You will be responsible for creating compelling content for digital, print and media communications that accurately reflects the WheelPower’s brand and tone of voice.
This is a varied and interesting role working with teams across WheelPower, with a particular focus on putting storytelling at the heart of our communications.
Main purpose
- To develop and implement marketing and communications for external audiences which:

- increase participation of disabled people in movement, physical activity and sport
- provide opportunities for people and organisations to support our work
- support the fundraising and income generation of the charity

- Deliver the WheelPower marketing and communication plans
Job Description
- Salary: up to £27,800 pro rata
- Contract: Permanent / Part time (30 hours/week)
- Location:Stoke Mandeville Stadium (Free Parking) – Office based or Hybrid working (one day a week in the office)
- Reporting to: Head of Fundraising, Data & Communications
- Working closely with: Head of Fundraising, Data & Communications, Head of Sport & Physical Activity, Engagement Officer, Events & Community Fundraiser
- Direct reports: None
- Annual leave: 25 days + 8 Bank Holidays pro rata
- Pension: 3% (with employee contribution of 5%)

Key responsibilities
1. Manage WheelPower’s social media output
- Plan, create, write and schedule social media posts. Analyse activity and respond to comments and tagged posts
- Create paid and organic digital campaigns for social media which support events and encourage activity and engagement. Plan and design creative elements including use of images, graphics, animations and video
- Spot trends and advise on best social media content and new technologies
- Be aware and engage in social media content from other organisations that relate to disabled people and the organisations who support them. Have a good understanding of current events, sporting opportunities and re-share or comment on where appropriate
- Monitor and analyse social media activity of related organisations to identify opportunities and learnings to improve WheelPower’s online presence
- Create live social media content, be confident in photography and videography to take photos, interview participants and use camera to produce video content
2. Website
- Ensure that wheelchair users have access to the right information, in the right format, promoted in the right locations which enables them to take part in sport and physical activity
- Maintain the website to ensure that all information is up to date an accurate
- Create new webpages to support the promotion of new opportunities and activities and ensure that all pages are optimised for search engine and ensure we learn from Google Analytics and visitor behaviour
3. Marketing and communications
- Produce innovative content for the delivery of creative, successful and cost-effective marketing and media campaigns targeting online and off-line audiences.
- Target specific communications which promote our work to wheelchair users, those who support wheelchair users, disabled groups, disabled children, their families and our supporters.
- Manage and produce regular outbound communications which promote WheelPower and our partners’ events and activities.
- Maintain and develop good relationships with local and national media organisations.
- Produce high quality press releases for written media, arrange interviews with radio, and be the point of contact to organise and arrange TV media to attend our events.
- Create, monitor and evaluate paid for social media advertising and online digital marketing opportunities. Work with a given budget to produce effective and engaging Ads.
4. Content Creation
- Promote our events and activities by telling the stories of how our work has had a positive impact on the physical and mental well-being of disabled people
- Produce a range of well written and informative stories which will underpin our promotional activity. Arrange interviews and be confident with audio/visual equipment to capture positive feedback from our beneficiaries.
- Create original social media graphics, leaflets, posters and a wide variety of marketing materials to promote sport and fundraising activities.
- Work within the brand guidelines to ensure consistency.
- Work with existing and new partners in order to communicate through their networks and channels with a particular focus on disabled people’s organisations and disabled people’s user led organisations.
- Engage and create specific content for Awareness Dates and work with our partners to increase awareness of the work of WheelPower.
- Have a good understanding of video editing software and be able to create, edit and produce professional looking innovative video content.

We are working with an incredible homelessness charity to recruit this key role to cover maternity leave. You will provide direction and manage the team responsible for brand, comms, events and fundraising. You will also directly be responsible for Major Donor relations and income.
This position is critical in the charitys growth and delivery of strategic goals through brand development, stakeholder engagement and delivery of some key streams of fundraised income.

Develop the brand on an ongoing basis, in collaboration with the Chief Executive and senior leaders

Identify stories and opportunities to increase brand awareness
Keep up to date with best practice in fundraising, identifying and sharing trends, developments

Directly take responsibility for supporting and communicating with major donor / high net worth supporters
The Candidate
Experience of planning and delivering fundraised income growth
Brand management experience
Experience producing communications and/or fundraising plans in the charity sector
Understanding of supporter management and journeys
Experience of managing and developing high-performing team
Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships at all levels and with key stakeholders
Agility to move across various functions and areas of responsibility

As Head of Marketing and Strategy you will lead the marketing team to produce robustly-planned, insight-driven, effective marketing campaigns servicing the needs of the organisation. The role
This role will be working on rolling out our new brand identity alongside the Head of Creative and Brand as well as delivering on a brand and marketing strategy and roadmap towards a large-scale brand campaign in plan.
You will dedicate yourself to making progress on established plans for the year and stay focused on achieving key milestones.
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Demonstrable experience in a similar level Marketing role taking responsibility for a team.
- Experience of developing, implementing and evaluating brand and marketing strategies, operational plans and delivering campaigns which have created shifts in the awareness, engagement and income generating capacity of an organisation.
- Strong leadership of a large team, leading by example and building trusted and positive working relationships with Directors, Heads and teams across Scope.
- Experience with prioritising marketing activity by audience needs and making sure all activity is impact-driven and associates with our organisational strategy goals for the year.
- Knowledge and ability to join up many cross-organisational enabler projects across data, digital, fundraising and supporter journeys to help us reach our marketing goals.
About you
You don’t need to have worked in a charity but the ability to demonstrate quick learning about specialist marketing areas through previous work experience will be vital for this role.
You will be:
- An experienced marketing leader ready to jump into action at a really important time for Scope.
- Confident to be the subject matter expert, to influence stakeholders and to work collaboratively with a variety of colleagues.
