About the role
You’ll be based in Sunderland, at our National Customer Service Centre (NCSC), located just 600 metres from our local PDSA Pet Hospital.
Our centre has been running in its current form for nearly a decade and is home to a friendly team of 60 colleagues, a great mix of full- and part-time team members who work together to deliver excellent service and results.
Over the years, the NCSC has evolved significantly, now handling a wide range of customer and supporter interactions. It’s an energetic, supportive environment where every conversation helps make a difference.
What you’ll do
- Make inspiring outbound calls to engage supporters, encourage donations, and promote PDSA’s work.
- Handle inbound calls related to fundraising with empathy and professionalism.
- Achieve personal and team income, service and quality targets.
- Build positive relationships with supporters through excellent communication and listening skills.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with Data Protection and fundraising regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of PDSA’s veterinary and fundraising activities.

Performance Analysis: Lead in-campaign reporting and post-campaign reviews, sharing insights and recommendations to improve future performance.
Finance: Manage financial tasks, including raising POs and monthly receipting
What We're Looking For
Proven experience delivering multi-channel campaigns from planning to analysis.
Strong understanding of end-to-end supporter journeys and the role of different channels in fully integrated campaigns.
Skilled in managing internal stakeholders and agency relationships to drive maximum value.

About Women in Prison
Women in Prison is a national, women-led, feminist organisation. We deliver front line support to women harmed by the criminal justice system, through our work in prisons, in the community and ‘through the prison gate’ as they resettle back into their communities. We also campaign for systems change that addresses the root causes of offending, reduces the harmful impact of prison, and creates workable, community-based alternatives to imprisonment.
Job Purpose:
Women in Prison’s Project Workers deliver high-quality, trauma-informed, independent advocacy for women in communities and in prisons, which focuses on early intervention, and holistic provision as part of a ‘whole system’ multi-agency response that looks to address the root causes of women’s offending. The primary purpose of this role is to provide in-depth, ongoing support to a caseload of women in the community of Greater Manchester.
Key Responsibility Areas:
- Provide high-quality, trauma-responsive support to women in contact with, or at risk of contact with the criminal justice system.
- Monitor case management systems to ensure accurate and timely data recording, aligning with contract KPIs and WIP policies.
- Develop and maintain effective partnerships with statutory and voluntary sector services to ensure coordinated, multi-agency support for women.

ROLE SUMMARY
This role will be pivotal in devising, executing, and evaluating impactful marketing and communication strategies that resonate with key audiences and advance upReach's mission of transforming social mobility in the UK. The successful candidate will split their time between PR and external affairs (50%) and marketing campaign development and delivery (50%), with flexibility to adjust based on organisational priorities.
Reporting to the Senior Marketing and Communications Manager, and closely collaborating with the Junior Marketing and Communications Manager on specific projects, focussed on increasing press coverage, creating compelling marketing materials, and delivering impactful campaigns. You will work closely with the wider team to ensure all communications align with upReach’s brand, with the ultimate aim of championing upReach's mission to transform social mobility in the UK. You will also support upReach in fulfilling our 2024-27 strategic objectives.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
PR, External Affairs & Policy:

PR Strategy: Contribute to the development and implementation of a PR strategy to raise awareness of upReach and the cause of social mobility, secure new partners/funders, and attract student applicants.

Media Content: Create press releases, opinion pieces, blogs and research that reflect the charity’s policy positions on key social mobility issues, and keep upReach website up to date with the latest coverage and articles.

Impact Monitoring: Track and quality score incoming press coverage to analyse performance and adjust strategies based on incoming insights, pro-actively securing additional backlinks.

External Stakeholder Management: Help respond to incoming media inquiries, ensuring timely responses and distribution of materials. Cultivate relationships with journalists, media outlets, influencers, other social mobility organisations, and other key stakeholders to expand upReach’s visibility, updating the CRM and journalist database accordingly.

Media, Policy and Research Monitoring: Track and respond to relevant social mobility and education-related policy changes in the UK, ensuring upReach has an active voice in these discussions where appropriate and disseminating key updates to the wider team.

Award Submissions: Support the identification and submission of high-quality award entries to build upReach’s profile across key target sectors.

Crisis Communications: Support in the preparation of responses to any external inquiries or crises, ensuring upReach’s reputation is protected.

Patron and Ambassador Research: Assist in the research of potential high-profile ambassadors for upReach, ensuring they align with our mission and values.
Marketing Campaigns:

Student Attraction: Support the delivery of upReach’s student attraction strategy to raise awareness of upReach amongst eligible undergraduate students.

Campaign Support: Assist in the planning and execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns that drive engagement with beneficiaries, partners, donors, and funders.

Content Creation: Work closely with the marketing team to produce compelling digital and print content, including case studies, social media posts/templates, blogs, email campaigns, videos and more.

Brand Consistency: Assist in reviewing external-facing materials to ensure they align with upReach’s brand guidelines, tone of voice, and key messages. Act in a consulting role to support the successful delivery of Associate-focussed communications.

Marketing Asset Management: Maintain a comprehensive inventory of marketing materials, ensuring resources remain up-to-date and relevant, while monitoring distribution amongst the team.

Monitoring and Evaluation: Assist in reporting on the success of campaigns using tools like Google Analytics and social media insights.

Collaborative Marketing: Collaborate with other charities, higher education institutions, and student societies, to develop co-marketing opportunities that expand programme reach among target student audiences.
Other responsibilities:

Manage the External Affairs rotation to help one member of the Future Charity Leaders Programme (FCLP), upReach’s internal graduate scheme, to learn more about this area of the charity.

Continue to develop skills, knowledge and best practice that will enable you to excel in the role, including training on pitching to the media, crafting compelling content and building press relationships.

Undertake other marketing, communications or administrative tasks that are required within this role.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
We are looking for someone who is passionate about social mobility and believe that background should not be a barrier to graduate employment.
To be successful, you would ideally have experience in marketing and communications, particularly in executing PR and policy strategies, facilitating media relations and/or running successful communications campaigns. While not required, experience within a charity, social impact or education-focused organisation would also be highly beneficial for this role.

As Advocacy and Regulatory Engagement Lead, your role will be to drive impactful policy and regulatory engagement under the Fair Digital Finance Accelerator. You will shape and implement advocacy strategies targeted at financial services regulators to strengthen consumer protection and resilience in digital finance, particularly in instant interoperable payment systems.
Representing the organisation in high-level forums, you will also champion innovation in consumer advocacy and ensure tangible impact in markets around the world. Your experience will combine political acumen, relationship-building skills and a network mindset, and you will be able to talk to stakeholders in the Financial Inclusion space with confidence.
Your experience;
- Proven experience in advocacy, government relations or public policy (ideally in financial regulation, consumer protection or digital policy).
- Demonstrated ability to influence regulatory or policy change in partnership with civil society or multistakeholder coalitions.
- Strong understanding of regulatory processes in low- and middle-income contexts and familiarity with digital finance ecosystems.
- Excellent relationship-building and networking skills, with experience facilitating collaboration across diverse stakeholders. Bringing in and utilising your connections with stakeholders in this space is highly desirable.

In this role, you’ll monitor political developments, draft compelling policy briefings, consultation responses and parliamentary materials, and engage directly with MPs, officials, and sector partners. You’ll help build strong strategic relationships with decision-makers, represent Woodgreen at meetings and events, and support the development of campaigns that raise awareness of the key issues affecting companion animal welfare.
Working closely with the Senior Campaigns and Policy Lead and the wider Policy and Impact team, you’ll contribute to developing clear, evidence-based positions and provide expertise to strengthen Woodgreen’s external voice and advocacy efforts.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

Strong experience in policy, public affairs, or parliamentary work, ideally within the charity, animal welfare, or public health sectors.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce persuasive briefings and articulate complex issues clearly.
- A good understanding of the UK political system and how to influence it effectively, ideally with an existing network in this space.

About the role
Having established a strong fundraising capability and team with significant income growth over the last 4 years, Kidney Care UK is now looking for an exceptional Head of Fundraising to take the Charity to the next level.
You will work closely with the Director of Fundraising, Marketing & Communications to develop and implement a new 5-year fundraising strategy for the charity, with direct responsibility for managing Trusts and Foundations, Individual Giving, Legacy, In Memory, Community, Trade, and Challenge Event income streams.

The Head of Fundraising will lead all fundraising activities, overseeing the full spectrum of income generation to support our mission of empowering young people through football and education. This is an extremely exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to lead on fundraising for an organisation which has barely scratched the surface of the fundraising landscape. There is autonomy over the direction of travel with a lot of support from the CEO on ideas and future programmes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Strategic Fundraising Leadership
o Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy to grow income across all streams, aligning with the Foundation’s goals.
o Set long-term targets for income growth, monitoring progress and adapting strategies to capitalise on emerging opportunities.
o Act as a key ambassador, representing the Foundation at senior-level meetings with funders and corporate leaders to secure support.
· Trusts, Foundations, and Statutory Funding
o Lead on securing multi-year grants from major trusts, foundations, and statutory bodies, producing compelling applications and stewardship reports.
o Manage a portfolio of high-value trust relationships, cultivating new leads and ensuring personalised engagement to maximise funding.
o Oversee statutory funding bids, including government departments and local authorities, to support programme.
· Philanthropy, Major Donors, and Individual Giving
o Build and steward a portfolio of major donors and philanthropists, networking to identify prospects and delivering tailored proposals to secure gifts.
o Develop individual giving campaigns, including digital appeals and supporter journeys, to grow recurring donations and engage a broader donor base.
o Foster long-term relationships through personalised stewardship, ensuring high levels of donor satisfaction and retention.
· Corporate Partnerships and Brand Collaborations
o Secure corporate partnerships for sponsorships, employee volunteering, and content production, leveraging the Foundation’s football focus to attract partners.
o Collaborate with the marketing team to align corporate engagement with brand visibility and impact storytelling.
o Negotiate and manage partnerships that provide financial support, in-kind contributions, or co-branded initiatives to enhance programme delivery.
· Events and Community Fundraising
o Plan and oversee fundraising events, such as corporate football tournaments, charity matches, and supporter evenings, to raise funds and build engagement.
o Manage event logistics, budgets, and partnerships to ensure successful delivery and measurable ROI.
· Digital Fundraising and Innovation
o Support digital fundraising strategies, including online campaigns, social media appeals, and email marketing to grow donor acquisition and retention.
o Champion the use of AI and new technologies to optimise fundraising processes, such as personalised donor communications and data analysis.
o Ensure robust data management in CRM systems to track donor interactions, compliance with GDPR, and fundraising performance.
· Team Management and Cross-Team Collaboration
o Work with programme delivery, marketing, and operations teams to create compelling propositions and gather impact data for fundraising materials.
o Ensure all fundraising complies with legal, ethical, and governance standards, mitigating risks and upholding transparency.
· Safeguarding
o Ensure all fundraising activities, events, and donor engagements comply with the Foundation’s safeguarding policies, including DBS checks and risk assessments.
Person Specification
· Essential Skills and Experience:
o Proven track record of securing significant funding across multiple streams, such as trusts, statutory bodies, philanthropy, corporates, and events.
o Experience leading a fundraising team, with strong people management and mentoring skills.
o Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce compelling proposals, reports, and pitches tailored to diverse audiences.
o Strategic thinker with demonstrated success in developing and implementing fundraising strategies to achieve income growth.
o Strong networking and relationship-building abilities.
o Knowledge of fundraising regulations, governance, and compliance, including GDPR and ethical standards.
o Proficiency in CRM systems, data analysis, and digital fundraising tools.
