This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Director-level communications professional with a strong background in knowledge translation of technical information to different audiences internationally. 

Reporting to the Executive Director and serving as a member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), the Director of Communications & Knowledge Translation will provide strategic leadership for all Health Care Without Harm Europe’s Communications and KT activities. The Director will lead exciting new digital KT initiatives in line with our new Strategy and as a key part of a small, high-performing team working at the timely intersection of health and the environment. S/he will lead and support all of the organisation’s engagement and communication with target audiences, so that they achieve maximum impact on European healthcare policy and practice in support of the organisation’s mission. 

The post is for an initial 12-month period, at a critical time of development for the organisation’s communications and KT activities. We intend to make the post permanent thereafter, subject to receiving sufficient funding, and we have high hopes that this will be the case.

About the role

This is a pivotal moment for Ygam. The Unicorn Preservation Society, known as UPS, is an exceptional charity responsible for a unique and precious 200-year-old heritage asset: HMS Unicorn. The UPS was formed in 1968 to conserve and preserve HMS Unicorn as a Museum and Heritage Asset. The Society operates and maintains HMS Unicorn as a museum and vibrant visitor attraction in Dundee.

We are in one of the most exciting phases in the history of the ship readying it for migration to a sustainable, secure berth.  UPS raised c£1m funding various preliminary works and investigations.  These preliminary works and investigations were essential to develop the evidence needed for applications for major funding that will ultimately see the ship as an integral part of Dundee’s exciting water-front development.

During 2023, the Society was awarded major funding of more than £1m to undertake hull significant strengthening work as a precursor to being moved into her new home.  More recently, the NLHF has awarded c£800k of Development funding to plan Delivery of HMS Unicorn into a secure location, subject to match funding,

The charity provides audio solutions, services and support that enhance the lives of people living with sight loss. Their vision is to be the 'go to' organisation for innovative, inclusive and trustworthy audio solutions and services. They do this by giving people free audio devices and support. They help people directly and via referrals, and work in partnership with other charities and organisations to ensure they reach as many people as possible.

The Assistant to the CEO will provide comprehensive administrative and executive support to the CEO, assisting in the day-to-day management of the charity. This includes managing policies and procedures, coordinating diaries, overseeing GDPR and Health & Safety compliance, providing HR support and administration, and ensuring the smooth operation of administrative tasks to support organisational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
* Governance and Compliance: Manage and maintain the charity's policies and procedures, ensuring regular updates and compliance with relevant regulations and best practice, including GDPR compliance, data protection policies, privacy impact assessments, data breach procedures, and staff training on data protection requirements.
* Health and Safety: Act as the primary conduit between the charity and the external Health & Safety management company, coordinating risk assessments, incident reporting, policy updates, and ensuring adherence to relevant legislation.
* HR and Systems Support: Liaise with HR agency to ensure that the charity and the team have access to information and support needed, and lead all filing systems relating to HR, GDPR and Health & Safety, accurate records systems and databases to ensure efficiency and accessibility. Lead admin relating to new staff inductions.
* Executive Support: Provide executive-level administrative support to the CEO, including diary management, organising meetings, and preparing documents. Coordinate and facilitate internal and external meetings, including preparing agendas, taking minutes, and following up on action points.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following essential experience:
* Executive PA Experience: Proven experience as a Personal Assistant at executive level, demonstrating the ability to support senior leadership effectively.
* Health & Safety Management: Practical experience in managing health and safety compliance within an organisation, including knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices.
* GDPR Expertise: Hands-on experience with GDPR compliance, data protection procedures, and privacy management.
* Knowledge of Compliance and Regulations: Familiarity with charity governance, policies, and relevant regulatory requirements.

You will also need to be able to demonstrate exceptional organisational, attention to detail, problem solving and project management skills. You will be a strong communicator with advanced interpersonal skills and able to work confidentially with initiative and adaptability. Our vision is a world where everyone has a secure home, and no one needs to stay in temporary accommodation to avoid homelessness. We work alongside vulnerable people in temporary accommodation to improve their lives and communities, unlock their potential, and open new possibilities. We provide practical and emotional support and stability, aiming to make any stay in temporary accommodation short, rare, and non-recurring. The Role:

The CEO will be responsible for leading the strategic growth, fundraising, and external engagement of More Than a Roof. This role will focus on developing and communicating the charity’s mission, building strong partnerships, and securing funding to expand our impact across the UK.

The CEO will act as the external face of More Than a Roof, engaging supporters, funders, and strategic stakeholders to raise awareness and increase income. While the charity exists to support individuals & families experiencing homelessness, delivery of frontline services and direct engagement with residents is undertaken by our partner organisations, such as The Housing Network. The CEO will ensure that the voice and experience of those we support shapes our fundraising narrative, advocacy, and programme design, without duplicating the operational role of our delivery partners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work alongside colleagues at The Housing Network to support individuals and families (including individuals over 18’s, families, and prison leavers) as they move into temporary accommodation.
• Facilitate connections for beneficiaries within the local community in Leicester, helping them build support networks.
• Signpost beneficiaries to relevant external support agencies and services to address their diverse needs (e.g., health & wellbeing, training & life skills, employment, financial matters).
• Collaborate closely with on-the-ground partners, such as Community Shop in Leicester, to ensure integrated support.
• Collect and maintain accurate beneficiary data and records, ensuring compliance and contributing to outcome reporting.

About the role 

CUF’s new strategy has a vision of ending poverty together.  Over the next three years we will be developing our relationships with our networks, partnerships, Dioceses and churches to respond, primarily, to relational poverty, recognising its place within the web of poverty. Our work will be mission and community resilience focussed, in the framework of asset based community development.

Through our work we will see more impactful, confident and mission focussed churches who are empowered to serve their local communities.  We will witness greater cohesion across Dioceses, schools, Christian denominations and Christian charities as a national movement to love and serve our neighbour, and challenge unjust structures of society. We will also work more strategically with communities of different faiths

in our resilience work, facing the challenges of relational and identity poverty.  We will work closely with the Church of England who have highlighted ministry in low income communities as a priority for resourcing.

We will be more confident in speaking out the truth about poverty, through a renewed influencing, policy and research team, who will take our grassroots and collaborative work to highlight unjust structures on poverty, and shape an ecclesial, political and sociological response.

In this newly created role you will develop our work on influencing and telling the truth about poverty, this is one of two objectives for the charity.  You will help build relationships of influence within the Church of England, Government and other decision makers to use our stories and impact to show the difference churches and faith groups can make in ending material and relational poverty.  You will develop policy positions on areas of CUF’s work in relation to poverty that will give a firm basis for our work, and that we will be able to speak out on with confidence and knowledge based on connection to grassroots churches and organisations.  You will develop a robust mechanism for reporting on impact, which goes beyond just evaluating our work but demonstrates the difference that faith based social action can make on ending poverty together.

This role will report to the CEO, but work across all of CUF’s teams and departments and will be responsible for the line management of the Listening and Learning Officer.

Queenscourt Hospice is an independent charity that provides free, specialist palliative care for the people of Southport, Formby and West Lancashire. We care for patients with advanced progressive illnesses helping them to achieve the best possible quality of life.

We receive only just over a fifth of our costs from the NHS and generate additional funds from charitable donations and support of the local community.

The role of Director of Business and Strategy Development has responsibility for all Non-Clinical Services which include Finance, Human Resources, Estates, Education, Technology and Income Generation.

This pivotal role encompasses significant executive responsibilities and the successful post holder will require a broad skillset. Of particular importance will be strong leadership skills; solid grounding in business acumen with an excellent understanding of financial reports, contracting and commissioning processes. The successful applicant will understand the charity sector and be able to bring a commercial focus to the generation of new income streams at a time of financial uncertainty for the charity and healthcare sectors.
