Programme Manager

We are looking for an experienced programme manager to lead an established Inclusive and Nurturing Schools (INS) programme to implement nurturing education across seven boroughs in London, commissioned by the London Violence Reduction Unit.

Salary: £37,800- £43,449 per annum (depending on experience)

About the Role

The charity is leading on the Inclusion strand of the programme, delivering training to education professionals in 70 schools across London. The charity is working in partnership with Tender, a charity specialising in the prevention of gender-based violence and the promotion of healthy relationships between children and young people. Tender is leading on the Healthy Relationships strand of the programme.

In particular, you will be responsible for leading the established (2022) programme to keep children supported, and thriving in school, tackle exclusions, and ensure children and young people have healthy relationship behaviours and attitudes.

The Programme Manager will:

• Lead on programme management (including budget management and reporting)
• Work closely with the programme manager for the healthy relationship strand to ensure high quality and coordinated delivery
• Maintain strong relationships with funders and contract managers
• Coordinate engagement with schools and participating boroughs
• Coordinate a delivery team
• Assess the impact of the INS programme

Duties and responsibilities

About the role

This is an exciting time to join Young Lives vs Cancer as we set up a new Brand Marketing and Communications function including a team of digital experts.

We are looking to recruit two Digital Marketing Officers to join the newly created Digital Engagement team working to deliver exceptional digital activity that delivers against organisational objectives. One successful candidate will lead on supporting social channels and the other on email marketing, however both roles will be expected to work across all digital channels and cover for each other as necessary.

We are looking for a great motivator with excellent communication and organisational skills. The Peer Support Coordinator will play a critical role in the delivery of Day One's Peer Support Service. The primary objectives are to ensure a high-quality service is delivered to our beneficiaries; to develop our regional peer support model; and to facilitate a positive volunteering experience for our lived experience volunteer team. Responsibilities will include the day-to-day coordination of peer support activity. This will involve sensitive communication with trauma-affected individuals to understand their needs and preferences, using this information to facilitate suitable peer support matches.

The postholder will contribute to building a diverse volunteer team by supporting the volunteer recruitment and induction processes. They will offer ongoing support, guidance and motivation to our volunteers, ensuring meaningful opportunities to engage with Day One. The postholder will support the Peer Support Manger to conduct regular reviews with volunteers to gather feedback on their experiences as well as supporting their personal and professional development.

The Peer Support Co-ordinator will monitor service delivery and volunteer activity to ensure it is operating within agreed policies and processes. To ensure we can evidence the success and quality of the service, a key aspect of the role will involve keeping accurate records of interventions as well as collecting regular evaluation/impact data and personal case studies.

You will be a compassionate individual, dedicated to ensuring the highest quality of support for our beneficiaries and volunteers alike. We’re recruiting for an experienced Philanthropy Manager whose area of expertise securing multi-year, six-figure gifts from grant-making organisations; developing and managing a trusts and grants pipeline, including the application and reporting process, in order to build a reliable and sustainable income stream. The postholder will be responsible for all areas of trusts and grants fundraising, including writing compelling applications that solicit funding for Life’s vital work as well as reporting on our service delivery outcomes, maximising the opportunities for renewed funding. 

The Philanthropy Manager (Trusts, Grants and Foundations) will be responsible for delivering a strategic approach to trusts, grants and foundations; working with service delivery areas of the organisation as well as the finance department, in order to create compelling projects, with measurable outcomes that can be reported on. The postholder will be able to articulate these projects into cases for support within written applications, matching projects with appropriate funders and delivering a compelling ask. This role requires the development of a trusts, grants and foundations pipeline, from research through to reporting, ensuring a sustainable and maximised income stream.

Due to the rapid expansion of Day One Trauma Support over the last three years, the charity’s infrastructure has needed to respond quickly to meet its changing demands. There is now a requirement to ensure that the Finance and Resources team has the right skill set and capacity to provide the support needed by the charity in an efficient and proactive way.

The HR Officer and Executive Assistant role is a newly created position to reflect both the growing HR needs of the charity as the workforce expands, and the executive support required by the CEO and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to ensure the efficient and effective running of the charity. This is a key role which is instrumental in bringing the HR and organisational administration functions together at an operational level.

Reporting primarily to the Director of Finance and Resources and assisted by an external HR and Employment Law support service, this role will provide advice, guidance and support to all line managers in HR related matters whilst building and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders throughout all levels of the organisation.  This will include support to ensure the efficient and effective management, monitoring and reporting of people metrics, from recruitment, development, retention through to attrition and at all stages of the employee life cycle.

The role will also provide crucial executive support to the CEO and SLT of three Directors, to ensure the smooth operation of their responsibilities and co-ordinating efforts of various parties to ensure completion of key tasks and actions.

About you:

You will have at least 3 years’ experience of delivering HR support directly and facilitating line managers to deliver HR support.  You will have a demonstrable understanding of employment law and the practical application of this, with experience of implementing HR administration and operational best practice for example, in the areas of recruitment, capability and performance management. You will help lead in creating an atmosphere of trust and an enabling environment where staff can contribute their best and develop their potential, which is critical for Day One as a young organisation.

You will have significant experience of providing proactive and responsive administrative assistance to senior staff and demonstrable experience of developing and managing effective administrative systems.  Additionally, the ability to build and maintain trusted relationships through professional engagement and communication skills, both written and spoken, that are effective, empathetic and adaptable to different situations are key to this role.

You will be highly organised and responsive to others in a way that is both timely and professional with well-developed time management skills to manage competing priorities, ensure follow up of actions and meet deadlines whilst working under pressure. We’re looking for someone to train as a Community Energy Champion to be able to provide energy advice to people in communities.

You will visit clients at home to complete Home Energy Audits, providing information and individualised support, and facilitating access to options which will improve people’s wellbeing and energy security. This will include recommending grants and helping complete applications and forms.  

As a Community Energy Champion, you will deliver face-to-face and virtual energy workshops to parent groups, carers groups, community groups and others. There is also the opportunity to  work with energy and water providers and other organisations to arrange themed workshop sessions.

This role will suit someone with excellent communication, planning skills, time management and an adaptable working style. Applicants should have relevant experience of delivering information and advice to a range of client groups. You must be confident using IT and will be trained to use our client database.

This is a part-time role (22.5 hours) and is 1 year fixed-term based at our office in New Ash Green, and the applicant will be expected to travel to other areas. Own car essential.

About the role:

The role of Triage and Early Interventions Officer (TEIO) is a fast paced one which requires the post holder to answer incoming calls and make outgoing calls to victims of crime and those accessing the service in Cumbria.

As a TEIO, you will;

• answer incoming calls, speaking to those affected by crime & manage a caseload
• make outgoing calls, assess needs and risks and action plan with callers
• work on the case management system to allocate cases, provide administration on cases and assess/ensure data quality
• liaise with other agencies where required to find out more information, give information or make referrals or give signposting information
• work with the wider team to ensure an effective, trauma informed service is given to those affected by crime

You will be a confident, compassionate and empathic person who can work well under pressure. You will be speaking to people who may be upset, angry or in emotional difficulties and will need to be composed, empathic and be able to quickly assess situations.

You will be confident in using your IT skills to work on a case management system, access phone and online systems, email and Microsoft Office programmes.

We are working with Pact, who are seeking an experienced Senior Manager (Major Gifts) with a proven track record of success to manage and grow their portfolio of major donors and legacies, to enable them to make a difference to the lives of those affected by criminal justice.

Pact is a successful national charity that provides life changing and lifesaving care for men, women and young people in custody, those with criminal convictions in the community and their children, family members and carers. 

In this newly created role, the Senior Manager (Major Gifts) will provide strong stewardship of existing relationships of mid value and major donors, support and cultivate interest in Pact’s programmes and unrestricted giving and take responsibility for identifying and developing new major gifts from individuals and family trusts. In addition, you will strengthen and develop the legacy strategy and offer to existing and new individual supporter. 

This is a senior, strategic role within Pact and you will have 

• A proven track record and specialism in either legacy or major donor giving, and the autonomy to raise funds from individuals, including HNWIs and to lead on this area within a charity.
• Experience of researching and cultivating individuals including HNWIs and family trusts to secure financial support.
• Strong interpersonal skills, talented at building relationships and trust, and able to inspire long term commitment.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly convey concepts and inspire a wide range of people through written & verbal channels, with the ability to build a case for support.
• Strong literacy, numeracy and budgeting skills and be capable of writing effective proposals, and reports.  Experience of using Salesforce is desirable but not essential.

Originally the Catholic Prisoners Aid Society, founded in 1898, Pact has a largely Catholic supporter base, with warm and committed relationships with a wide range of Catholic and other Christian stakeholders.  This is a key role for Pact, where you will work closely with other member of the fundraising and extended teams, collaborating with the Head of Faith in Action to cultivate and secure new support from Catholic people motivated by the work of Pact.
