Salary: Band 8b, £65,241 - £75,441, per annum, dependent on experience, plus 5% Scotland Fringe Allowance (if based in Scotland)
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 09:00 - 16:30, hybrid, 2 days in office, 3 days at home.

Combat Stress is the UK’s leading mental health charity for veterans. For over a century we’ve been helping former service personnel deal with issues like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety and depression. Today we provide specialist treatment and support for veterans from every service and conflict, focusing on those with complex mental health issues related to their military service. We provide a range of community, outpatient and residential mental health services to veterans with complex mental health problems. We provide services in-person, and via phone and online.
About the role:
To provide the highest quality strategic and operational leadership of Combat Stress in Scotland and Northern Ireland. The post holder will be the senior manager responsible for representing and promoting Combat Stress across both regions, building positive and productive relationships with statutory and third sector colleagues.
The Head of Services will be an experienced and forward thinking registered health or social care professional providing inclusive, compassionate and inspirational leadership.
The role will be accountable for:
• Supporting strategic alignment with all national initiatives.
• Meeting and ideally exceeding requirements of each Regulatory Body.
• Ensuring the highest quality performance in all areas of service activity.
• Nurturing a culture of continuous improvement, active learning and development.
• Informing and improving collaborative service design and delivery.
• Ensuring high levels of co-production.
The successful candidate will hold a current healthcare professional registration with the NMC, HCPC, SWE or GMC. You will be expected to have significant and recent experience of the core elements of management practice, including:
• budget management.
• recruitment and retention.
• performance and quality improvement.
• line management and supervision of staff.
You will of course continue to be responsible for ensuring these aspects are of the highest quality when delivered by others.
This role is subject to a PVG/Access NI check.

About the role:
To support the charity’s income generation and stewardship of donors by working with the fundraising and events teams. There are a variety of annual special events that include but are not restricted to: Annual Charity Dinner, Armistice Address, Carol Service and Clay Shoot as well as Open Days, virtual events, AGM and the Secret Postcard Auction. To further support other fundraising teams in the logistics, stewardship and administration of events, activities, data management and input and donor engagement tasks.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the Senior Events Officer with all fundraising and stewardship events including the production, delivery, logistics and administration of our key special events
- Work with Income stream Heads, when required, to manage their donor engagement and cultivation events and activities
- Update the events section of the Combat Stress website
- Assist in researching venues and suppliers for events
- Liaise with and relationship manage external suppliers (caterers, printers, florists, venues) regarding events
- Help manage all printed materials related to events including designers, printers and advertisers
- Help source prizes for the live and silent auctions
- Raise and manage invoices as directed
- Input and manage event administration on Raiser’s Edge, always ensuring accurate records are maintained
- Process ticket applications and donations in lieu of tickets and ensure all supporters are thanked in a timely manner
- Attend events and assist the Senior Events Officer to ensure everything runs smoothly and all attendees at the event are well looked after. Some out of hours work is required
- Collaborate and support other fundraising teams as and where required

Prospectus is delighted to be working withour client to recruit for a Senior Events Manager. The organisation is the armed forces' national charity, here for soldiers, past and present, and their families for life. Last year they supported over 80,000 soldiers, veterans and their families through this work including by funding 86 charities, from Combat Stress and Walking with the Wounded to smaller local organisations.
This is a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover contract paying a salary of £45,760 per annum with flexible hybrid working arrangements at their offices in Victoria, London.
The post holder will be a key player in the delivery of their bespoke challenge event portfolio during a period of growth for the team and the charity. They will deliver flagship events as Project Manager, specifically the Cateran Yomp, expanding and increasing the net income and reach of this product. They will line manage the Events Executive to deliver the Frontline Walk series of events, including delivering the new Home Front Event. They will work collaboratively with other project managers across their events portfolio to play a vital role in raising £3.5 million across the Events and High Value Relationships team.
They are looking for someone with a demonstrable track record of delivering significant fundraising projects or campaigns and managing six figure income and expenditure budgets. They are looking for a candidate with demonstrable project management skills, experience in fundraising and the ability to build relationships with a wide range of people from a variety of backgrounds. The ideal candidate will have strong empathy with the cause of the charity and its beneficiaries.
