They’re an independent, not for profit organisation on a mission to stop electricals being hoarded and thrown away, and ensure they’re reused and recycled instead. To do this, they fund technical research on the barriers to recycling; work with partners to improve the current system; and make it easier for people to change their behaviour through their nationwide Recycle Your Electricals campaign.
The focus of this role is to make it easier for local authorities to help their residents reuse and recycle their unwanted electricals. You will help support local authorities by supporting them to effectively use and develop our campaign communications, carrying out desk-based research and communicating with potential local authorities about how Material Focus can help support them and encourage them to take part in the Recycle Your Electricals campaign.
You will contact local authorities and provide advice and guidance on how best Material Focus can help support them, attend conferences and support with presentations to key stakeholders, gather data and evaluation information to highlight the work of the team and monitor progress. Ultimately, you will be working with the Local Authority and Environmental Partnerships Manager to identify marketing and communications opportunities where we can promote our core message and educate and motivate more people to recycle their electricals.

The Role
The PR Manager plays a central role, working closely with the Head of Media to manage the public relations function of the charity. You will be responsible for helping to develop and execute prominent and high impact national and regional media campaigns, to help people better understand the mission and take action to support it.
Your main duties and responsibilities include:
· Generate regular, positive, proactive media coverage
· Proactively sell stories into the media as well as react to incoming enquiries
· Work with the Head of Media to develop impactful press strategies in line with the wider PR strategy

About You
You will have experience working in public relations. You will have experience of leading successful PR media relations strategies, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. You should be creative and passionate about delivering impactful work, with a proven ability to be highly organised and manage your own workload.

In 2020/21, the Careers & Enterprise Company appointed its first ever Youth Board Member to the strategic board of directors, to give young people a decision-making voice. The CEC subsequently established a national Youth Advisory Group, to establish and embed an organisation wide approach to capturing Youth Voice, both for the purpose of driving impact and measuring the value of our work. This work has already had a huge impact on the company, and we are looking to embed Youth Voice still further into our work at a more strategic level.
The Youth Advisory Group has three primary functions across The Careers & Enterprise Company, to:

The Careers & Enterprise Company is seeking to recruit an 18-month fixed term Youth Engagement Officer to support the administration, facilitation and delivery of youth engagement and participation across our organisation. The role will sit within the Education Development Team and work closely with our Youth Advisory Group and Youth Board members. You will work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to champion youth voice and deliver high quality youth participation activities.
This new role has an exciting remit to develop practice, to innovate in youth voice practice, to lead on the operational delivery of the Youth Advisory Group and support with the strategic direction of this work. Reporting directly to the Education Manager responsible for youth voice, but also working effectively across the directorate and across the company, you will manage the delivery of various aspects of our operations including, but not limited to:

- Innovate and design – CEC’s work, and the careers education landscape, is continually evolving. Responding to changing needs of the company, skills of the YAG members and proactively planning for project pivots, will be essential to success in this role. ● Alongside the rest of the core team, identify opportunities for fundraising, commercial projects and consultancy, building relationships and contributing to funding proposals as required.
Marketing & Communications
● Support the Marketing & Admin Officer and Executive Programme Director / JCEO to prepare and execute a marketing and communications plan – strategically positioning Coney’s work across communities and sectors.
● Support the Marketing & Admin Officer to ensure regular communication with Coney networks (newsletters, social media and other relationships) and produce effective communication and ticketing systems for events and projects as required.

As the Head of Marketing & Development, you will be responsible for bringing the brand of The Postal Museum to life in new and innovative ways to reach ambitious admission and visitor targets - across all marketing channels, press and media, and in all communications to engage their varied audiences. Mile End Climbing Wall (MECW) is the trading name of the charity Development through Challenge (DtC).
Development through Challenge started life as a charity called North London Rescue Commando (NLRC), set up when London was at threat of flood. They moved to the current site from North London, where they had started as a small water sports centre. In the mid-1980s a change in focus led to the formation of Mile End Climbing Wall. It became the climbing wall in London and one of the first climbing walls in England. In 1997 NLRC changed its name to Development through Challenge.
Since then, we have been providing East London and UK climbing communities with high quality climbing and associated facilities that are available to everyone regardless of ability to pay, physical ability, or skill-level. We organise training and challenges that improve people’s wellbeing.
Responsible to the Operations Manager, this position will work with the Senior Managers, Trustees and CEO, to deliver the strategic plan for marketing and communications and manage their operational implementation - including on and offline campaigns, internal and external communications, publications, digital activities, events and PR to raise awareness of brand and reputation and maximise customer and community engagement.

This is a position to:
· Deliver the overall marketing and communications strategic plan for Mile End Climbing Wall (MECW) and Development through Challenge DtC).
· Lead on the development of the MECW and DtC brand positions with the DtC CEO and MECW senior management team, retaining a strong visual identity and advocate our external profile and reputation.
· Lead on conceptualising and executing diverse events, from local climbing competitions to virtual campaigns, playing a pivotal role in fostering a vibrant and engaged community.
This role will involve weekend and evening work from time to time, as it requires attending events taking place at The Wall, as well as attending Board meetings when needed. Extra points if you have climbing experience/ knowledge!

About this role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Reprieve team as our Head of Digital and Mass Engagement covering parental leave. With the support of the Deputy Director of Development, you will lead our fast‐moving and creative Mass Engagement Team, who power fundraising across multiple channels. They do this by engaging and building a community of supporters and running campaigns that inspire people to support our work.
As a dynamic leader, you will oversee this area of our work by delivering and implementing Reprieve’s recently launched Mass Engagement strategy. You will work closely with colleagues across the organisation, as you lead digital campaigns that mobilise Reprieve’s existing community (currently about 95,000 people in the UK and 9,000 in the US) while inspiring others to join the movement.
Our Mass Engagement work is at a pivotal moment. Reprieve’s income from the general public through regular and individual giving, generated largely by email fundraising, has experienced a drop, with many of our supporters understandably reassessing their charitable giving in the face of the economic crisis.
In response to this new context, Reprieve is launching its new strategy and investing creatively to ensure sustained engagement and growth of our incredible community of supporters. Joining the team at this key moment, you will be energised to bring your skills, experience and knowledge to implement and deliver these plans, testing opportunities to diversify and grow the programme.
Salary, contract and location
The annual salary is £59,226 per annum less any required deductions for income tax and national insurance. This is an approximately 9 month fixed-term contract to cover parental leave, beginning in mid-October.
Reprieve operates a hybrid working model and we require staff to work a minimum of 2 days a week from the London office and the rest of the week from home.
