Hours: Part-time, 3 days per week (8 hours within the hours of 9 am to 6 pm with 1 hour’s lunch break) + one day of weekend support hub per month

Working days: Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays (and one weekend day a month)

Reporting to: CEO 

Location: Mostly office-based with once-a-month offsite location (office, occasional home and offsite) Office is based in the City of London near Bank station

Salary: £18,000 per annum for 3 days a week (Pro-rata of £30k)

*Overtime is compensated either by pay or time off in lieu 

Holiday: Pro-rata of 30 days a year excluding bank holidays plus holiday office closure (before New Year’s holidays) and 1 day of annual mental health leave

Contract: 18 months temporary contract, 6 months probationary period

Start date: 1st July 2024 (Notice period will be considered with those who have notice periods) The first round of interviews will be scheduled for the week of 5th June 2024.

• Facilitate educational and direct support programs, through data-driven research and community engagement

Day-to-day tasks

• Organise, run and report on support & wellness hubs for women and girls, and be the face of the support hub programme

• Identify and eliminate safeguarding risks

• Identify need gaps within communities and fulfil crisis and emergency management plans, help prepare the organisation for unexpected urgent response work

• Amplify the voice of the communities we support 

• Identify and highlight the ongoing issues faced by the women and girls we support with the team and external stakeholders

• Organise and manage programme facilitators and role-related volunteers

• Map out fundraising opportunities and secure funding through written grant applications and manage funding processes from start to end including mid and end-journey reports 

• Develop and maintain the existing community ambassadorship programme by listening to community needs and helping to implement solutions

• Maintain strong relationships. Including with Community Ambassadors, Wellness Ambassadors, programme facilitators, existing or potential partners and funders, and be a reliable point of contact for seamless communication

• Expand community engagement through offsite outreach and partnerships with local councils, grassroots organisations, healthcare professionals, community leaders and sector partners (*The Vavengers works with over 150 partnerships across the UK)

As project manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operation and delivery of this vital  service, using your experience to develop the team, sharing best practice and seeking creative opportunities to continually improve the support we offer unpaid carers. This role will suit a people person who can quickly develop relationships, lead a team, and work closely in a supportive role with Adult Carers, Young Adult Carers and Young Carers. You’ll have overall responsibility for the Carer’s hub, where carers can drop in for advice and support, manage a small caseload, and support the delivery of the service’s range of activities as required, including respite activities, online groups, face-to-face sessions.

We are looking for a great motivator with excellent communication and organisational skills. Applicants should have relevant team or project management experience in social care, health, education or the voluntary and community sector. You will have experience of working with vulnerable adults and/or children and operational knowledge of multi-agency working. A practical understanding of barriers faced by unpaid carers, and an awareness of cultural differences will be key in this role.

This is a full-time role and the postholder can either be based in the community in Lewisham or our New Ash Green office, with travel to the other area/ office 2 days a week. The postholder must have access to their own ULEZ compliant car.

About IKWRO

IKWRO –Women’s Rights Organisation (IKWRO) is an award-winning charity founded (as the Iranian and Kurdish Women’s Rights Organisation) in 2002. IKWRO is a registered charity which provides advice and support to Middle Eastern, North African and Afghan women and girls living in the UK, who have experienced, or are at risk of all forms of “honour” based abuse, including; forced marriage, child marriage and female genital mutilation (FGM), or domestic abuse.

We work with women and girls of all ages, including lesbian women, bisexual women and trans women. We offer services in Kurdish, Farsi, Arabic, Dari, Pashto, Turkish and English. IKWRO offers free advice, advocacy and counselling services and operates a refuge which provides safe accommodation and specialist support to single women at risk of “honour” based abuse, forced marriage and domestic abuse.

IKWRO also provides training for women and girls to help them understand their rights in the UK. In partnership with other organisations, we assist survivors of abuse with accessing English language classes and education, training and employment opportunities.

As well as supporting women and girls directly, we offer advice and training for professionals from the statutory and voluntary sectors, to better understand the needs of the women and girls we represent, the types of abuse they experience and to provide best practice prevention and support services.

We campaign to increase awareness and improve laws and policies to tackle all forms of “honour” based abuse and harmful practices including; forced marriage, child marriage, marital captivity, female genital mutilation, virginity testing and hymenoplasty, discrimination by sharia courts and to push for better laws and policies to protect women’s and girl’s rights.

The post-holder will be required to work in a confidential setting and provide non directive support to improve mental health and social functioning of women who are experiencing different forms of gender based violence. The post-holder will be professionally trained, accredited and work within the BACP/BPS Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions (2018) or equivalent. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

·Provide a service in line with BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) guidelines or equivalent.

·To support the management team with the strategic development of IKWRO’s counselling services. 

·The provision of effective and high-quality Counselling and Psychotherapy services to IKWRO’s clients through making use of up to date service standards and IKWRO’s Counselling Guidelines.

·To agree a counselling contract with IKWRO’s clients and provide a timely, responsive and appropriate service.

·Carrying out a small one to one clinical caseload and/or depending on the team’s clinical capacity.

·To manage waiting lists according to the level of risk, delivery plans and organisational priorities. 

·To manage the delivery against targets and in accordance with contract requirements. 

·To lead, line manage and develop the counselling services staff as required.

·To do the clinical supervision of Associate Counsellors and trainees.

About the role 

Working with the Salesforce Programme Manager, fellow colleagues in the Business Change team and the wider Delivery Services team, you’ll play a critical role in the successful delivery of the Salesforce programme.

Working alongside the Business Change Lead, you’ll develop and implement a comprehensive change management strategy for the Salesforce programme rollout, and actively engage with Salesforce programme stakeholders at all levels regularly to understand their needs, address concerns, and foster a positive attitude towards Salesforce.

What you’ll do:

• Design, analyse and create mechanisms in order to collect ongoing feedback from users and stakeholders and have ways of identifying resistance and managing it.

• Create and deliver clear, consistent change communication plans to keep all relevant parties informed and engaged throughout the transition process.

• Provide ongoing support and coaching to users, helping them navigate the new system, and manage and address risks and issues as they arise, and regularly monitor and report on the progress of CM activities, analyse its impact, provide opportunities for feedback and suggest improvements.

• At the end of the programme, lead the CM retrospective, ensure benefits and adoption metrics are identified, tracked and measured to demonstrate success. Lastly, provide the handover to the Business Change Lead.

Job Purpose

Money Minded is a new service designed to support adults (18 years and over) in Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Hounslow. This role offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate closely with the West London NHS Mental Health Teams, operating within the tri-borough area.

The service provides support with welfare benefits, accessing debt support, housing and well-being. The role of the Mental Health Information and Advice Officer will be to provide advice, guidance and customer representation to tri-borough residents living with Mental Health difficulties. Advice issues may include housing, welfare benefits, council tax, accessing debt support, signposting etc.

The successful candidate will deliver support to enquirers and manage a caseload of individuals, as agreed with the Service Manager. In addition to advice casework, the Mental Health Information and Advice Officer will also be expected to assist onboarding referrals to the service, as and when needed.

The successful candidate will work closely with the West London NHS Mental Health teams and project volunteers, ensuring adherence to the Advice Quality Standard framework (AQS) and Mind's policies and procedures.

Due to the nature of the work, if successful, you will need to have an up-to-date DBS check completed, prior to undertaking unsupervised client work.

Katherine Low Settlement is a charity that has been serving Battersea and the wider Wandsworth community since 1924. We are dedicated to building stronger communities and enable people to challenge and find ways out of poverty and isolation.

We run a range of our own community projects to tackle poverty and isolation, and empower and support children, young people and their families, older people, women and refugee communities. We campaign for social change. We also incubate and support local charities and social businesses to thrive, so together we can meet the diverse needs of the local communities of Wandsworth. Each week we work with 28+ charities supporting more than 1,000 people.

Katherine Low Settlement’s work with older people

Katherine Low Settlement has worked with older people since its conception in 1924.They are a core part of the community that we continue to work with. We provide, often in partnership, a range of projects and activities for older people including health and wellbeing; creative arts; intergenerational work; connecting people and trips/outings. Our services include an Older People's Lunch Club, Contact Club, T’ai Chi for Elders, exercise and social sessions, and support online.

We work with older people to:

• Encourage active and independent living

• Reduce isolation and loneliness

• Improve well-being and prevent ill-health

• Enable older residents to be dynamic and contributing members of the Wandsworth community.

Key Objectives for the Elders Core Service Manager Role:

1. Team Leadership: Lead a team of dedicated part-time paid staff and volunteers, including a cook, support worker, minibus driver, and sessional workers.
2. Day-to-Day Management: Manage the day-to-day operations of the Elders Core Service, including the lunch club, transport, social sessions, and overseeing the one-to-one work of the core team.
3. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the wider team to provide a hands-on program that builds on older people's strengths and potential.
4. Monitoring and Evaluation: Support the monitoring and evaluation of the project in collaboration with the Head of Programme.
5. Budget Management: Ensure the program operates within budget constraints.
6. Member Engagement: Support the planning of the core program with input from elder members and the wider team.
7. Recruitment and Support: Recruit and support new and existing members (service users).

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Delivery

• Planning and Oversight: Ensure that all service output aligns with KLS' vision, mission, values, and charitable objectives. Organize and promote one-off activities throughout the year.
• Transport Management: Manage the transport offer, including route planning and pick-up schedules.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate activity records, registers, and casework notes for the core team.
• Outreach and Support: Conduct outreach work with older people in the community, oversee home visits, and manage a small caseload.

2. Staff and Volunteer Management

• Recruitment and Line Management: Recruit and manage the Outreach and Support Workers, Lunch Club Cook, and relevant social activities workers and volunteers.
• Performance Management: Use performance management and quality systems to monitor and evaluate the project's work and processes.

3. Relationships, Communication, and Networks

• Member Engagement: Build and sustain strong relationships with elder members.
• Communication: Oversee communication for the Core Programme, including newsletters, activities calendar, annual reports, and social media platforms.
• Meetings: Attend meetings on behalf of the Core Programme as required.

4. Finance

• Budget Management: Manage project areas to budget and maintain financial records as agreed with the Head of Programme.

5. Other Duties

• Professional Development: Participate in regular management supervision and annual appraisal. Identify job-related development and training needs.
• Professional Conduct: Professionally undertake roles, maintaining a high-quality standard of work in line with KLS's aims, values, and ethos.

Location: The post holder will have a normal place of work in Hampton Hill, London Borough of Richmond upon Thames and will be required to travel throughout the borough to support our other offices and outreach venues.

Hours: This role is for 28 – 35 hours per week depending on ability to carry out IT management alongside other duties. We are open to part-time, job-share, and/or flexible working requests. Normal working hours 9.00 – 17.00 excluding lunch break. Some evening attendance is required at governance meetings – time off in lieu will be offered.

Citizens Advice Richmond (CAR) is a thriving advice organisation that is part of the national Citizens Advice network. We provide information, advice and casework support to around 5,000 people a year. Our services are delivered by a team of around 17 paid staff and 75 volunteers. We have a typical annual turnover of £700,000 and in addition to our core advice service, funded by Richmond Council, we have a range of projects funded by other charities.

Role purpose

The post-holder will lead on premises, facilities, IT and personnel and administration systems to support the effective delivery of CAR services to clients and management of the organisation.

We are looking for an organised and creative individual to join our service supporting Unpaid Carers in Lewisham to improve their health and wellbeing, and access support that meets their needs.

The team works with unpaid Adult Carers, Young Adult Carers and Young Carers and you will carry out home visits and community meetings, complete assessments, co-produce support plans, and develop effective relationships with Unpaid Carers, families, and professionals. You’ll build on your local knowledge to signpost and facilitate access to support services, including financial and benefit advice, housing, health and safety home systems, and leisure and social activities.

To facilitate group work, you will plan and deliver a programme of events, groups, activities, training and workshops. You’ll need to research and book trainers, venues, activities and resources, negotiate value for money, promote the calendar of events and manage bookings. The sessions will offer opportunities for Unpaid Carers to meet with peers, develop confidence, learn new skills, reduce social isolation, and improve their own wellbeing.

Applicants should have relevant personal or professional experience of working with Unpaid Carers and/or vulnerable adults or children in a social care, health, education or voluntary and community sector, as well as experience of planning and delivering a programme of group work.

You’ll need a practical understanding of barriers faced by Unpaid Carers, and an awareness of cultural differences and access to services. You should be an excellent communicator and able to motivate and empower others.
