An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a new Operations Manager / Deputy Chief Executive for Stepping Stones North Wales as we celebrate our 40th Anniversary.
Stepping Stones is a charity based in North Wales that offers free individual counselling, support, psychoeducational courses and resources as well as group work to adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse. We also support family members, carers and friends.
We are looking for a person who is passionate about the charity sector and who, working with our CEO and with a dynamic team of Trustees, can ensure we operate effectively and can support the delivery of our strategy. The successful candidate will be comfortable with looking at ways to strengthen our processes and systems, so we have even more impact.
Stepping Stones North Wales demonstrates respect for, and embraces the use of, the Welsh Language through all our activities and services. We recognise the need to be appropriately responsive to the linguistic needs of Welsh speakers and we are fully committed to meeting the requirements of the Welsh Language (Wales) Measure 2011 (revised 2021). The ability to communicate effectively in both Welsh and English is desirable for this role although we will welcome applicants who demonstrate a commitment to learning Welsh (which we’ll fully support you in doing) and championing its use at every opportunity.
The position can either be full time (35 hours per week), with a salary of £38,296, or pro-rata 28 hours for the right candidate.
Our preference is for the successful candidate to spend three days each week working from our Wrexham office, with the balance being a home-working option. However, we can consider further flexibility and this can be discussed during the application process.

Job description:
- Responsibility for working with the CEO to develop, implement and monitor the Strategic Plan, the yearly Business Plan and associated processes/documents (policies, guidance, risk register and budgets).
- Responsibility for working with the CEO to increase our outreach through strategic communications and through stakeholder mapping/engagement, including with elected officials across North Wales.
- Responsibility for maintaining good working relationships with commissioners and other funding bodies and for supporting the CEO and trustees in promoting Stepping Stones with current and potential future funders within the statutory third and corporate sectors.
- Responsibility for working closely with colleagues and trustees to network and to maintain an appropriate level of awareness of Stepping Stones’ activities amongst the caring professions, across the charitable sector and in communities across North Wales.
- Accountability for supporting the ongoing recruitment of, and line management of, a number of nominated operational staff within the charity.
- Responsibility for ensuring the financial probity of the charity. Working with the CEO and Finance & Business Support Manager.
- Responsibility for maintaining good working relationships with commissioners and other funding bodies and to promote Stepping Stones with current and potential future funders within the statutory, third and corporate sectors.
- Responsibility for ensuring that all appropriate training and processes are in place with regards to key government standards around Safeguarding, Health and Safety and GDPR in partnership with the Clinical Lead.
- Responsibility for working with the CEO, key staff and trustees to implement an improved and modernised service for our clients, partners and trustees through innovation.
- Responsibility for working with the CEO to draft the Annual Report, and all other statutory reports, adhering to strict deadlines.
- Responsibility for ensuring that the charity has an efficient secretarial/clerical service managed by the Office Support Team.
- Responsibility for drafting relevant communications for clients or dealing with queries or complaints along with the Clinical Lead as appropriate.
- Deputising for the CEO during periods of leave or as required/agreed with the CEO.

Who we are
Arts for Dementia is a small charity but a leader in our field. We work with artists, galleries, museums and community spaces to offer inspiring arts programmes for people in the early stages of dementia and their companions. We train facilitators from around the country in early stage dementia awareness and how to deliver effective arts-based activities for people living with dementia. We also raise awareness of the value of the arts for people affected by dementia through our advocacy work.

Key responsibilities
Working with and supporting the Programmes and Communications Manager, alongside the Charity Administrator, to deliver creative programmes for people affected by dementia, including:
· Community research, specifically identifying potential partners and referrers for our creative programmes, including older adults organisations, arts organisations, NHS and memory services and community centres
· Community outreach and development, including contacting, building relationships and working with potential partners and referrers, with a key focus on improving the diversity of our network and participants
· Recruitment of workshop participants, particularly identifying key referrers and those working with people with dementia, visiting relevant organisations to raise awareness and share information, and gathering contact details of potential participants
· Participant communication and relationship-building, including reminding participants with dementia and family carers of upcoming sessions, being main point of contact for some programmes
· Co-ordinating creative programmes, including working with host organisations, artists and volunteers to set up the space, welcome participants, support them throughout the session, and ensure their enjoyment and safety
· Assisting at and eventually delivering our training to artists and learning teams from cultural organisations
· Supporting the work of the wider organisation, including our weekly online Art Wednesday sessions, events, exhibitions, fundraising events etc, as needed
· Assisting the Programmes and Communications Manager with volunteer and artist management as needed

The Willats Trust gives grants to Christian workers to share the Good News of Jesus in some of the poorest and most marginalised communities in the UK and Ireland.
As a young man in the nineteenth century, William Willats, observed that the poorest people in the city of Bath, where he lived, didn’t go to church simply because they didn’t have suitable clothes to wear to a religious place of worship. As a Christian he felt the injustice of this and set about taking the ‘church’ to the people. He set up a ‘Spiritual Guide’ programme where workers would visit the poorest in society to read them the Bible, pray with them and help them understand God’s word.
During this time, Mr Willats acquired a considerable number of properties across the Bath area.
The Trust currently owns and manages a property portfolio of in excess of £35m and awards approximately £500,000 a year in grants to support ‘Guides’ who bring the Good News of the Gospel to communities with little or no experience of or interaction with the Christian faith.
We have an ambition to more than double that amount, transform our grant-making to be best-in-class and forge dynamic partnerships that extend the reach of the hope of the Gospel across UK and Ireland.

Essential Criteria :
- A minimum of a level 3 qualification in a relevant fundraising, marketing, media, event management or business qualification. OR A minimum of 2 years’ experience working as a fundraiser in the charitable sector.
- A proactive attitude, with the ability to carry out projects through to completion and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage people at all levels.
- Demonstrable experience of building and maintain relationships to support fundraising.
- Demonstrated ability to gain sponsorship deals.
- Demonstrated experience in volunteer recruitment and management.
- Demonstrated understanding of the issues facing homeless/rough sleeping individuals.

You’ll also be comfortable producing accessible how-to guidance, to enable people experiencing health inequalities to access services.
The role will involve building effective relationships with stakeholders including GP Practice Managers, voluntary sector organisations and NHS Integrated Care Board partners. You will work with these stakeholders constructively and persuasively, to seed partnership initiatives and achieve positive change for Barnet residents.

Key Responsibilities of this role
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- To work as part of a diverse and experienced team providing personalised support, advice and advocacy to people living independently or in supported accomodation.
- To apply a collegiate approach to deliver strengths based support that maximises independence, knowledge and confidence of those using our services.
- To provide a key point of reference for information and support to those using the services and professionals and carers dependent on it.
- To work independently across the boroughs we operate in, with people in their homes or in accessing support and resources across the community.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a co-ordinator for the Flourish project in the Diocese of Chester.
As part of the Church of England’s Growing Faith initiative, Flourish aims to see a network of 450 new worshipping communities established in educational settings across England, beginning with a pilot scheme involving 40 locations in 12 dioceses. There will be 4 pilot projects within the Diocese of Chester.
The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of working with children and young people, together with an appreciation of the missional task facing the church, particularly in regard to engaging missionally with a more diverse demographic.
This is a part-time position for 1 day (7 hours) per week. The role offers hybrid working that includes working from Church House at Daresbury Park, Warrington, and travel around the Diocese.
There is an Occupational Requirement for the postholder to be a practising Christian in accordance with the Equality Act, 2010. An Enhanced DBS Disclosure will be required.
