Disability Advice Service Lambeth (dasl) is Lambeth’s peer-led Disabled People’s Organisation. 

We want a Welfare Benefits Caseworker to join our small but dynamic Advice team.  We hold the Advice Quality Standard (AQS) in the Welfare Benefits Casework Level category, and you will be integral to ensuring the ongoing quality of the service provided. You will also contribute to the exciting work that we do with other advice organisations, local MPs and councillors to influence change and policy in the social welfare system.

The main purpose of the Administrative Assistant is to provide a welcoming
reception to everyone who uses our public spaces and to provide accurate and
timely administrative support to facilitate the efficient running of our services.
By providing effective administrative support, this role will help to ensure that
the charity’s resources are used effectively to support cancer patients across the
region.

Key responsibilities
Reception Duties
 Greet all visitors and service users in a warm, friendly, and empathetic
manner
 Handle incoming phone calls, emails, and in-person queries with
empathy, professionalism, and confidentiality, responding to questions
or concerns and signposting to appropriate services and colleagues
 Maintain a clean and welcoming reception area
 Provide refreshments for guests and support hospitality for in-house
events
 Manage appointment bookings and room usage for services, meetings,
and events
 Manage appointment bookings for transport, counselling, therapies,
group activities, and support sessions, ensuring schedules are accurate
and up to date, sending appointment reminder calls/texts/letters to
clients as required.
 Coordinate volunteer transport driver and freelance therapist schedules
 Liaise effectively with staff, volunteers, therapists, and healthcare
professionals to ensure that every individual receives the right level of
care and support at the right time
 Maintain clear and accurate records of client interactions, appointments,
and referrals in line with GDPR and safeguarding practices
 Act as a vital communication link between service users and the wider
team, flagging any concerns or urgent needs promptly
 Offer a calm, reassuring presence to individuals who may be distressed,
anxious, or seeking information at a vulnerable time, engaging senior
colleagues, as appropriate
 Open and close patient spaces and set up the centre space for workshops,
support groups and other events.

Administrative Support
 Maintain accurate records and update databases, including service user
information
 Inputting data into relevant systems accurately and in a timely manner
 Assist with preparing correspondence, reports, and materials for
meetings
 Assist in the processing of post, deliveries, and office supplies
 Liaise with volunteers, staff, and external service providers as needed
 Managing the consumables within this patient space and ordering
replacement stock as and when required.
 Provide general administrative support to the wider team as required.
 Take donations in any of the Weston Park Cancer Charity locations
 Arranging room bookings both internally and externally.

The responsibilities of the Client Finance Manager will include:

• Delivering budgets and forecasts for each client, property and tenancy, using complex data from the MRI Horizon general ledger and other systems, Hyperion and Excel tools to provide accurate and meaningful financial information
• Being accountable for financial control over property services accounting, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction by providing accurate forecasting, explanations and billing
• Maintaining a focus on process improvement, including planning and establishing new systems and processes for quarterly financial reporting to ensure clients understand their costs and bills, delivering an ongoing service that meets and exceeds expectations

Key Skills & Experience 

• Be proficient in Microsoft Excel skills and able to manipulate complex data sets.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to analyse and interpret significant amounts of financial data
• Ideally, have experience in client finance, including reporting to clients, managing systems and processes, working in partnership with clients to deliver results

About the Role

This is a role where you’ll really see the difference you make.

As Educational Partnerships Manager, you’ll work across Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and South Lincolnshire, building partnerships with schools, colleges, youth organisations and community groups—particularly in areas where opportunities are hardest to come by.

You’ll be right in the mix: planning events, delivering programmes, supporting volunteers and connecting with school staff to make sure young people have access to our inspiring enterprise and financial education experiences.

You’ll be a key driver of our Inspiring Futures programme—helping young people break down barriers and imagine bigger futures.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and grow relationships with schools, colleges, youth clubs and local communities
• Focus on expanding our reach in areas of multiple deprivation and underrepresentation
• Deliver and support the rollout of YE programmes in schools and other settings
• Recruit, train and support volunteers—making sure they feel valued and inspired
• Work with your regional team to meet shared goals and celebrate local impact
• Help secure local funding by supporting fundraising efforts and managing project deliverables

A few practical things:

• This is a hands-on role—you’ll sometimes be lifting resources, setting up venues and travelling regularly (a car and full driving licence are essential)

• Expect to be on your feet during some events or sessions—it’s all part of the fun!

Battersea is entering an exciting phase of innovation and transformation as we embark on the first year of our new five-year strategy. With increased investment in income generation starting in 2025, we are expanding our team to drive the growth necessary to achieve our organisational goals. Our fundraising team bridges the journey of the animals in our care with the wider public, demonstrating how their contributions enable us to support every dog and cat. We now have several new roles within this team to further our mission.

This is a new role working within Battersea’s Income Generation department to develop and deliver the campaign plan for a £4-6million pound capital fundraising appeal.

One of the key pillars of Battersea’s current strategy is to ensure that we continue to provide expert care for all the dogs and cats that come through our gates. One of the ways in which we do this is by investing in our facilities to ensure that they continue to meet the changing needs of the animals we care for. This fundraising campaign will help to achieve that aim.

You will work with teams across Battersea to develop a comprehensive plan for the campaign and co-ordinate the work of multiple specialist teams to deliver the campaign on a day-to-day basis. You will also be responsible for developing a clear governance structure for the campaign, and ensuring all stakeholders are kept informed of progress. You will also oversee and track progress of a series of internal process improvements that support the running of the campaign.

Please note, this is not a direct fundraising position, but will support our fundraising teams in delivering ambitious financial targets for the appeal.

People and culture at Unifrog

What you’ll do

1. Internal communications (~2.5 days per week)

As our Internal Communications and Events Lead, you will play a key role in engaging, informing, and inspiring our team with what’s happening at Unifrog. You’ll also help us to work even better together, and to retain a happy and effective team.

Your main responsibilities:

• Coordinate our whole team commss

  • Deliver our internal comms strategy, work towards our People team goal and objectives, and use our House Style.

  • Create our monthly internal Unifrog newsletter, writing your own segments, editing other people’s contributions, and evaluating engagement.

  • Collate data from team surveys and work with the People and Leadership teams to put ideas from the team into action.

• Improve the way that we communicate and work together:

  • Share best practice and deliver training on our comms tools (e.g. Slack, Gmail, Asana).

  • Research, trial and introduce new comms tools or upgrades where appropriate, training the team on how to use them.

  • Join our AI working group, whose goal is to support the team to use AI more effectively (e.g. leading training, sharing use-cases from across Unifrog).

  • Support teams with communication challenges (e.g. streamlining comms traffic).

  • Support team members to easily find the best contact for different questions and tasks.

• Manage our existing comms tools:

  • Audit our usage and budget to make sure we’re maximising value.

  • Manage individual and team subscriptions to our comms tools.

  • Help to troubleshoot team questions and issues.

• Keep our ‘Unifrog Essentials’ and ‘Who to Contact’ documents up-to-date, and support team leads to keep our Dropbox folders organised.

• Work with our Recruitment Lead and Marketing team to shout externally about what’s going on at Unifrog, sharing photos and stories on our website and social media. 

2. Internal events (~2.5 days per week)

Now that Unifrog has 115 team members across the UK and beyond, it’s more important than ever that everyone feels connected, both to each other and to our wider mission. 

We currently have:

1. Three whole company “team days” per year (2x in person, 1x virtual)

2. Two “away days” per team per year (in person)

3. Regular socials at our London office

4. Regular remote socials

Your main responsibilities:

• Plan our whole company team days:

  • Work closely with our CEO and the Leadership team to decide on the team day agenda, budget and format.

  • Find and book venues, hotels, social activities, and meals, and make sure everything’s set up and runs smoothly on the day.

• Support senior managers to plan their away days:

  • Advise on agendas and book venues, socials, and training.

  • Facilitate cross-team collaboration (one of each team’s away days is partly combined with another team).

• Evaluate our team events and continually look to improve their quality, impact, and inclusivity.

• Plan remote socials and office socials for our London HQ.

• Support our Unifrog affinity groups - spaces where team members who share common identities (e.g. being parents), can connect, support each other and champion inclusivity.

• Keep our EDI calendar up-to-date, and mark and celebrate occasions important to people across the team, including cultural heritage months, awareness days, and commemorative events.

Working together

You’ll be part of our People team alongside our: People Assistant, People Coordinator Recruitment Lead, People Lead, Head of People Operations, and People and Operations Director (your line manager).

You’ll also regularly work with a variety of other team members (especially line managers) when organising events.

Key details

• £37,000 - £39,000 per year, depending on experience. Grade B.

• Full-time.

• Split your time between working remotely and at our office in Hoxton, London (a minimum of 2 days per week). Applicants must be commutable to London and can expense up to £12.50 per day for travel, up to 2 days per week.

• 28 days paid holiday per year (plus bank holidays).

• Working hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Thursday, and 9am to 4:30pm on Friday.
