About The Role
Would you like to be part of a team that makes a positive difference for people and nature? 

The Experience and Engagement team support WWT’s wetland sites to create amazing visitor experiences that connect people with nature and inspire them to protect it.

As Experiences Programme Manager you will plan, co-ordinate and work with our sites, other central teams and external contractors to deliver internal programmes of work to raise our standards of presentation, service, accessibility, interpretation and programming.

This is a fixed term role until 31 July 2025 to cover an internal secondment within the Experience and Engagement team. This role is based at our WWT Slimbridge site, with the option for hybrid working.  The hours are 30 per week over 4 or 5 days.You may occasionally be required to travel to our other wetland sites around the UK. 

About You
As our Experiences Programme Manager:

• You'll develop resources including best practice guides and inspiration packs to support our site teams, so experience of copywriting and editing will be essential. 
•  You'll be a confident and creative communicator, acting as the Experiences & Engagement lead for internal communications, training and development. 
• You'll lead our Experiences Academy, developing the knowledge and skills of our colleagues through webinars, workshops and events. 
• Overseeing the management of our creative database and researching creative partnerships, you’ll be someone who is highly organised and thrives on a challenge.

About the role

The University of London’s Development Office is responsible for delivering philanthropic support for the strategic fundraising priorities of the University. As Senior Philanthropy Operations Manager, you will act as the strategic lead for the data and information management that underpins all of the Development Office’s activities. This will include management of the Blackbaud CRM database (and all associated Blackbaud products), gift processing, reporting and analysis, as well as ensuring compliance with relevant data protection legislation. You will play a critical role in the successful delivery of the Library Transformation Programme campaign and other strategic fundraising priorities. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the development and delivery of a 3-year train the trainer pilot programme in the chosen pilot locations in England or Scotland.

The pilot will train and equip local health care professionals, health promotion workers and local community workers with the knowledge and resources to promote breast awareness, breast screening and risk reduction messages in their own communities.

• A PhD in a quantitative STEM research subject 

• 2 years minimum of postdoc/industry experience (in a research or research-support role)

• A demonstrated talent for writing - including writing journal articles and writing for non-specialists 

• At least one first-author paper in a peer-reviewed journal 

• Experience delivering live training/teaching courses 

• An excellent, practical knowledge of MS Excel and MS PowerPoint

What we're looking for 

We are looking for a quick-thinking, organised, insightful and analytical intern to join our consulting team. As an ethical organisation, Scriptoria does not believe in unpaid labour, so this position is a paid role with the real opportunity to turn into a full-time job for the right candidate. You won’t be doing coffee runs or endless photocopying, you will be a pivotal part of the team making a serious contribution to the work we do.

You will have at least a 2:1 or first-class honours degree and your English language, writing and communications skills will be excellent. An interest in sustainable development with the desire to create a positive change in the world is essential. A science-related degree could be beneficial, and a Master’s degree is an advantage but not essential.

Your role as an Intern in our Consulting Team 

As a member of the consulting team (after sufficient training) you will be given the opportunity to work on some of Scriptoria’s exciting international consulting projects alongside senior team members. The work will be varied and will involve working closely with our team of developers to conceptualise and design our specialist project-management software for international development and research organisations. You will therefore have excellent communication skills to translate the needs of the clients into actionable instructions for the data team. As an individual, you need to see data science and technology as tools for problem solving and enjoy the analytical and “detective” work involved in applying them.

• Salary: Annual gross salary of £21,673.60 per year (pro rata), paid monthly  

• Location and hours: Home (UK only) or office-based in South London. Our standard working hours are 8.30am to 5.30pm every day with one hour for lunch (1pm to 2pm).   

• Annual leave: 33 days’ holiday pro-rata in each complete calendar year including statutory and public holidays   

• Sick pay: Up to 5 days’ paid sick leave per year, after which the UK government’s Statutory Sick Pay scheme will apply

This internship is full time (40 hours a week), five days per week for a six-month period, with an initial one-month probation. Our intern will be given regular reviews to track progress and a formal assessment after 1 and 3 months.

Flexible working location 

Our staff have the choice about whether to work from home or from our office in Tooting, SW London, or a mixture of both, during regular operational hours. If working from home, staff must have a working environment suitable for holding video-call meetings with clients.

Macular disease is the biggest cause of sight loss in the UK, with around 300 people diagnosed every day. The Macular Society is the only charity determined to beat the fear and isolation of macular disease with world class research, and the best advice and support.

To support people affected by macular disease now, the Macular Society provides a range of support, information and services. Our research programme is focused on finding new treatments and a cure to beat macular disease forever.

We are undergoing significant changes, with a transformational new strategy to multiply our income, ultimately funding research that will find a cure.

What we’re looking for

An experienced Legacy and In Memory fundraising or marketing professional with a proven track record of developing and implementing campaigns aimed at creating legacy awareness, securing legacy pledges and increasing in memory donations for the Macular Society.

You’ll be familiar with and comfortable analysing data and insights that inform decision making and approaches towards legacy and in memory marketing, ensuring these activities are well targeted and effective, using a range of channels.

Once secured, you’ll also be passionate about providing the best possible supporter care and experience, bringing people closer to the cause and encouraging ongoing support.

Leading a team of two experienced Legacy and In Memory Fundraising Officers, you’ll support this talent by providing opportunities for learning and development and will embed a positive culture of high support and challenge.

There are key areas of work to focus on, including developing volunteer journeys to align with transformation and ensuring our volunteers are supported throughout their time with us. You’ll also be supporting the development of new volunteering policies, practices and strategy, as well as developing new volunteer roles throughout the organisation.

About the role

Thousands of people in our communities are affected by breast cancer, and many of these are compelled to help by fundraising for Breast Cancer Now. To enable us to best support our network of fundraisers and create a sector leading programme, we've recently reconfigured our community fundraising team.

This role is all about leadership and strategy development and implementation. You’ll lead your team to new heights of success, providing expert and unwavering support.

You’ll spearhead the development of your region and country’s community fundraising programme. Innovating, adapting and learning, this role will build sustainable income from new audiences and loyal supporters.

This dynamic role will see you lead on a range of activities such as marketing, supporter thanking, reward and recognition and supporter engagement events. You’ll also manage the community fundraising operations team, who are responsible for mass market DIY fundraising along with analysis, reporting and fulfilment.

You’ll manage a team of six, including two line reports. You’ll nurture and inspire them to excel in their roles, empowering them to take an active role in how we do things. 

When it comes to supporter experience, your aim is sector leading standards. This role cares deeply about providing exceptional stewardship and relationship management, delighting our supporters and increasing their lifetime value.

About you

You are person centred and passionate about the difference your skills, experience and tenacity can make. Strategically minded, you’ll be driven by success, believe in going the extra mile and enjoy a varied, fast paced role.

Primary location of role and hybrid working

This role is homebased with frequent travel to our Sheffield or Glasgow offices. Alternatively the role can be based from 1 of these offices. If based in either of these offices our hybrid working model allows you to work up to 3 days per week at home.
