Reporting to the Communications Manager, this role will work closely with the Communications Officer already in post. You will support the team to deliver the Trust’s strategic plan, enhance our digital offer and improve our liaison with the third party who deliver our member magazine. 

A talented wordsmith, you’ll know how to spot a good story and have proven skills at engaging audiences, both new and existing. You will bring ideas and energy to the role and have a track record of developing content that inspires across a broad range of channels including website, print, email and social. You’ll understand the power of data and pay attention to user feedback and analytics to continually improve engagement. 

You will work closely with the Head of Philanthropy, Senior Philanthropy Manager and the wider team to support the cultivation and stewardship of individual donors who fund a variety of activity at Serpentine – from exhibitions and our summer Pavilion programme, to live events and our Ecologies, Arts Technologies and Civic Engagement projects. You will identify and research potential major donors, developing a strong fundraising pipeline that will ensure the Philanthropy team can reach their annual targets.

You will provide full administrative support to the Head of Philanthropy and Senior Philanthropy Manager to maximise the Serpentine’s income from our international group of major donors, ensuring processes are followed correctly and all administration is efficient, accurate and delivered to deadline.

Using your strong prospect research, analytic and communication skills, you will thrive on your ability to deepen and widen our donor base through identifying new potential supporters, as well as mapping donor networks and creatively assessing opportunities for closer engagement with existing donors. You will have a strong attention to detail and be adept at extracting and communicating summary information to internal and external audiences. You will also have an adaptable and innovative approach to work, solving problems and working both collaboratively and independently as required.

Person Specification:

• Experience of developing, implementing and measuring the success of communications campaigns.
• Experience of working with social media platforms to communicate written material, ideally academic reports or research outputs.
• Experience of working with content management systems, writing newsletters and/or other marketing content.
• Experience of working with third-party suppliers, such as creative agencies, freelancers and printing companies.
• Experience with web and social media analytics and understanding of how to monitor social media, website and event metrics.
• Events experience (supporting event logistics and delivery).

About Black Thrive 

Black Thrive Global (BTG) evolved from the work of the Black Thrive Lambeth (BTL) Partnership, which was established in 2016. We exist to address the inequalities that negatively impact the mental health and wellbeing of Black people so that the thriving of Black communities is the norm. 

Our guiding principle is that Black communities should be at the forefront of reimagining, redefining, and co-creating a society where systemic racism and other oppressive systems have been dismantled so that they have fulfilling lives. We have two priorities – building a Black Thrive Research Institute and embedding race equity in systems change. 

We have grown rapidly since 2021 and so still have a start-up culture and often deal with competing priorities at a fast pace. 

The aim of Black Queer & Thriving is to explore the health and wellbeing needs of Black LGBTQ+ people in Lambeth and Southwark, develop community research that details these needs with the Working Group and use the outcome to influence local policy and infrastructure. 

The purpose of this role is to support the Black Queer & Thriving workstream with the main priorities being: 

• Providing administrative support to the development of the Black LGBTQ+ Working Group, including organising meetings and minute taking; 

• Supporting relationship management with Lambeth and Southwark’s Black LGBTQ+ community; and 

• Leading on a community research project exploring the health and wellbeing experiences of Black LGBTQ+ people in Lambeth and Southwark.

The list below is not an exhaustive list of duties, due to the dynamic nature of the work occurring at Black Thrive we are looking for someone who is willing to adapt to our responsive workstreams, and who can be agile in the performance of different tasks.

Duties and responsibilities 

1. Support the project’s engagement and involvement with Lambeth and Southwark’s Black LGBTQ+ communities, particularly young people. 

2. Lead on designing and maintaining databases to support the network mapping of stakeholders and ensure relationship management of key stakeholders. 

3. Leading on a community research project with the Working Group and participate in and support other research, evaluation and learning activities. 

4. Keep abreast of various projects, initiatives and coalitions locally, regionally and nationally, as well as emerging legislation policy and practice related to the workstream. 

5. Support the Programme & Partnership Manager with project management and reporting arrangements relating to the achievement of objectives and milestones. 

6. Organise meeting and events and manage the associated administration such as room bookings, preparing and distribution of agendas, minute taking and action tracking. 

7. Support the development of the Black LGBTQ+ Working Group, including recruitment, organising meetings and minutes. 

8. Produce and deliver presentations, reports and other materials relevant to the role. 

9. Lead on producing content for internal and external blog posts and digital content across our communication channels to ensure effective communication of Black Thrive’s employment work to relevant audiences. 

10.  Put in place appropriate project and financial management arrangements to ensure the achievement of objectives and milestones relating to the Communities workstream.

11.  Ensure compliance with legislation and policies relevant to the job role, including equality, safeguarding, health and safety, data protection and financial probity.

12.  Spend up to 10% of time supporting corporate business, such as strategy and administration.

13.  Occasionally work at weekends and in the evenings when required. 

Exeter-based cancer charity, Force, is well known and much loved for its incredible work supporting people who have had a cancer diagnosis and their families with a range of support.  Their longstanding CEO is now retiring and the search has begun to find that special person to lead the charity into the future.  We are delighted and honoured to be supporting the Board with this important appointment.

As the Big Local programme enters its final stage, PSBL are seeking a driven and passionate community development officer to join our team and help realise the vision of the Plaistow South Big Local partnership and establish its legacy.

You will usually be based at our new office at Memorial Community Church, Barking Road, E13. You will work alongside the team, providing support across a diverse range of projects. There won’t be many typical days, but your role will include delivering community events and outreach to help residents find their voice, take ownership and reach their potential, alongside general administration task and content creation for our social media platforms and promotional materials.  

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised individual with experience of working with communities in either a paid or voluntary capacity. You will be proactive and passionate, using your strong communication skills to engage and build rapport with local people, with experience creating supporting them to come up with great ideas for new initiatives that boost opportunities and improve social cohesion. An ability to work independently is key, with experience of managing multiple and varied priorities.

You will also have good digital skills, using your experience of creating online communications for community projects to be the team’s digital lead. As well as being confident supporting administration tasks including data management and impact reporting.

Business & Human Rights Resource Centre is seeking a Communications Officer (Media) with sharp news sense to join our growing team. The successful candidate will bring talent, enthusiasm, and relevant knowledge and experience to support press and social media strategies and communications across the entire global organisation. The role sits in our global communications team, working with, and reporting to, the Head of Communications. We are a small, high-performing team tasked with increasing the media and social media coverage of BHRRC’s analysis and key findings, as well as supporting and amplifying the efforts of our partners on the ground that are fighting to achieve justice and remedies for victims of abuse.

Responsibilities

The Communications Officer (Media) will have a particular focus on increasing international media coverage of BHRRC’s work and research, and the activities of our partners, including in the field of labour rights. Responsibilities will include:

Drive a proactive and strategic press approach: Spot opportunities for high impact coverage in target outlets, building on existing press lists, develop relationships with priority journalists, and create and pitch compelling content to media, including media advisories, press releases and related materials.

Develop high-impact communications products, synthesising complex research and data sets: Work with our Global Team to develop materials which speak to our key audiences. Develop key messages for our priority programmes and also discrete outputs including individual briefings and research reports.

Contribute to organisational and project communications strategies and planning: Support the Head of Communications to implement our communications strategy. Advise project managers on strategic communications and support launch project planning. Keep our planning calendar up to date and help ensure deadlines are met.

Produce well-written content: Write and edit channel-appropriate content for our audiences. Support the Global Team to produce high-quality and newsworthy reports, op-eds and blogs.

Support digital outputs: Support the Web Content and Senior Digital Officers as appropriate, creating content for our digital platform and social media platforms (including priority platforms LinkedIn and Twitter).

Support the communications team: Provide on-call cover for the media line, with occasional infrequent out of hours work, and share admin jobs.

Key competencies and attributes

Experience: At least 3 years’ experience in a communications role, including working in a busy press office, communications department or as a journalist.

Media: Sharp news sense and editorial judgement; ability to conceive, craft and pitch news stories and carry out fast reactive work. Knowledge of and experience of working with the mainstream media, including knowledge of the editorial positions, audiences, and sections or programmes of key outlets. In addition, ideally, knowledge of international business media or media in some specific countries or regions.

Relationship building: Track record of developing relationships with journalists on key issues. Any existing contacts of relevance to BHRRC’s work a bonus.

For-impact communications: Excellent understanding of how strategic communications can work with research and advocacy approaches to achieve change. Proven ability to synthesis and communicate complex and sensitive information; understanding of how to tailor content to different audiences, contexts and channels. Outstanding written English and good oral communications ability.

Project management: Track record of leading and/or implementing complex projects including planning (timelining), execution and evaluation of lessons learned.

Strategic thinking: Track record of helping to develop successful communications strategies to effect change. Experience tailoring communications products for diverse international audiences an asset.

Supporting staff: Enthusiasm for supporting colleagues with communications. Experience supporting staff either through training, coaching or assisting with media advice an asset.

Team player: Experience of, and commitment to, working in high-performing teams that are highly collaborative and focused on outcomes. Experience of working with colleagues remotely, and in multicultural and diverse cultures and working environments also desirable.

Knowledge of human rights issues: A strong interest in international issues and familiarity with social justice issues desirable.

Languages: Must be fluent in English. Additionally Japanese or Spanish in particular, and/or French, Chinese, Arabic, Portuguese, or Russian language skills would also be an asset.

AAUK are seeking an experienced CO-CEO Office Liaison and Internal Communications Lead. This role is responsible for running the office of the Co-CEOs, internal communication and engagement activities across ActionAid UK.  The role will oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the Co-CEO office enabling the Co-CEOs to effectively manage their workload and focus on strategic responsibilities in their dual roles as Co-CEOs and Directors.

The Role

Are you a creative and dynamic individual with a passion for online communications? Not A Phase is looking for an Online Communications Manager to join our team. This full-time, remote position offers flexible hours and the chance to make a real impact. You'll be crafting and managing engaging content for our social media channels, creating and editing eye-catching videos, and building a strong online community. We're dedicated to uplifting the lives of trans+ adults across the UK, and we need someone who shares that commitment. Job Responsibilities

• Content Creation: Develop engaging and original content for our social media platforms, including graphics, videos, and written posts.
• Social Media Management: Oversee and manage our social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok), ensuring regular posting, audience engagement, and growth.
• Video Production: Create and edit video content for various platforms, including Instagram Reels and TikTok.
• Community Engagement: Engage with our online community, responding to comments and messages, and fostering a positive and inclusive environment.
• Campaign Development: Plan and execute online campaigns to raise awareness and support for our projects and initiatives.
• Analytics: Monitor and report on social media metrics to track the success of campaigns and content, and adjust strategies as needed.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to align online communications with overall organizational goals and strategies.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven experience in online communications, social media management, or a related field.
• Strong graphic design skills and proficiency in tools like Adobe Creative Suite or Canva.
• Video production and editing skills, with the ability to create compelling video social mediacontent.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with the latest trends in social media and digital marketing.
• Experience working within the charity sector is a plus but not essential.
• A deep understanding of and commitment to trans and LGBTQ+ issues.
