About the role
We’re looking for a Head of Financial Planning & Analysis with FP&A experience to join our Finance Team as maternity cover for up to 12 months.
You will be a key member of the finance team, engaging with key stakeholders across the organisation and responsible for the delivery of accurate, consistent reporting and forecasts of financial performance; leading the production of monthly management accounts; the analysis of financial performance; the budgeting and forecasting cycle and the long term planning for the charity.
This is an exciting period of change in the finance team with the implementation of a new finance system in October (Microsoft’s Business Central). This role will be key in leading that post implementation period to ensure the benefits are felt within the Finance team and the organisation more widely.
The role holder will ensure that the new finance system is utilised to drive significant improvements in reporting and forecasting, including tighter reporting and forecasting timeframes, improvements in management reports and information, enhanced models for use in financial planning.
The role holder is accountable for the development and delivery of team plans, the management of the Finance Business Partners and the Management Accountant.

What will I be doing?
No two days are the same at Young Lives vs Cancer. So, summarising your ‘day to day’ isn’t easy. Here are some of the main things you’ll be doing, but you’ll find more details in the job description.
- Manage the processes for setting the charity’s financial plans, including agreeing the timetables and deliverables for presentation to the Executive Team and Finance Committee.
- Manage the month end process taking ownership for the timely delivery of clear, accurate monthly management accounts and monthly Finance report.
- Leading on successfully embedding the new finance system with the Finance team (& the wider organisation) to realise improvements in management reporting and financial planning.
- Understand variances in monthly financial performance and enable the explanation of these clearly and concisely to the Director of Corporate Services, Executive Team and Trustees.
- Develop insights and make proactive proposals to budget holders on financial opportunities for efficiency or improving value for money.
- Build strong relationships with the Executive Team, Associate Directors and Heads of and be regarded as trusted source of financial support and guidance and leveraging these relationships to ensure Finance received the support it needs to meet its objectives.
- Manage the two Finance Business Partners and Income Management Accountant providing them with the appropriate support and guidance to ensure they meet their objectives and development needs.

The key skills we’re looking for in this role are:
- Qualified Accountant (CCAB or equivalent) with strong demonstrable experience working in a senior finance position with experience in FP&A.
- Experience of management and delivery of budgets and forecasts, as well as for the management and delivery of monthly results and reporting.
- Identifying, driving and managing change within a Finance function resulting in a more effective Finance function.
- Excellent management and leadership skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritise delivery of conflicting priorities and to effectively manage stakeholder expectations around deadlines.
- Understanding of charity VAT and corporation tax is desirable.
- Experience of using Microsoft’s Business Central/ Dynamics is also desirable.

There are a variety of activities planned during the week-Yoga,Music,Dance,Drama all have professionals attending .Busydays has . days out throughout the year-funds allowing and also have several Christmas pantos and meals Therefore arranging the activities/days out-gaining quotes and deciding with day care manager the feasibility of the venture against the cost involved plus risk assessing.
Jointly preparing care plans with the day manager for new starters with Busydays .Reviewing care plans with Day service manager.
Liaising with local colleges/universities when required .We are used for training placements for social work students and health and social care students.
Monthly essential tasks are preparing accounts for the county council service users and for parents/carers submitting and collecting on time.
Monthly payments to staff,activity teachers regularly and transport companies .Keeping a close eye on all finances.
By expanding the numbers of people being supported at Busydays and further funding this will ensure the continuity of Busydays.

We are recruiting a Head of Care Services to join our senior team and to play their part in the ongoing development of our activities, ensuring that we maintain high quality standards and a person-centred approach. The ideal applicant will have experience in ensuring the care and wellbeing of individuals, ideally with learning disabilities, autism and mental health, including the preparation of the range of paperwork and audits covering all aspects of care in a Day Centre setting,
The postholder will have knowledge of managing staff and supporting them to achieve positive outcomes, experience of interacting with Social Services and Health professionals, knowledge of Safeguarding procedures and managing the minimising of risk, strong I.T and communication skills and ability to contribute as part of a team and on their own initiative.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Section A: Service User Wellbeing
· Ensure that we are in receipt of all appropriate current information on service users to fulfil our duty of care and support. This includes by way of examples, information on general health, allergies, medication, behavioural issues, and general interests.
· Ensure we have in place all Individual Risk Assessments as required to fully inform staff members of the needs of each service users and equip them with the knowledge to respond accordingly.
Section B: Parent / Carer and Professional Liaison
· Maintain either in person or through the Centre Care Managers, regular communication with all parents / carers and ensure we create a team approach to jointly working on the wellbeing of the service user.
· Respond to all incoming communication in a timely manner which ensures we build our reputation as a valued provider and support.
Section C: New Referrals
· Provide the focal point on the recruitment of new service users, identifying opportunities from brokerage and other sources, such as Specialist Schools, and ensure that each potential attendee and their parents / carers are supported through the process of visit, taster days, making choices and arranging the financial package.
· Ensure we are able to meet the selection and reporting requirements of each stakeholder seeking to place an individual and that they likewise can comply with our own service delivery requirements. This will be enacted in liaison with the CEO and Head of Business Services.

About Women in Prison
Women in Prison is a national, women-led, feminist organisation. We deliver front line support to women harmed by the criminal justice system, through our work in prisons, in the community and ‘through the prison gate’ as they resettle back into their communities. Job Purpose:
Women in Prison’s Advocates deliver high-quality, trauma-informed, independent advocacy for women in communities and in prisons, which focuses on early intervention, and holistic provision as part of a ‘whole system’ multi-agency response that looks to address the root causes of women’s offending.
The primary purpose of this role is to provide in-depth, ongoing support to a caseload of women who have been referred for support by prison staff, predominately the Mental Health In-Reach Teams and Primary Care Teams.
Key Responsibility Areas:
1. Provide high-quality, trauma-responsive advocacy and support to women in contact with the criminal justice system.
2. Maintain case management systems to ensure accurate and timely data recording.
3. Develop effective relationships with key stakeholders such as statutory and voluntary sector agencies.
