Strathclyde would like to appoint an early career fundraiser to the role of Alumni Fund Officer, working within its established and successful Alumni and Development team. This role will deliver fundraising programmes to support the University’s Alumni Fund – a fund which is championed by many thousands of our graduates, and which supports the whole student experience. 

You will deliver a range of fundraising projects including an annual student telethon campaign, direct mail, and digital projects (including Giving Day campaigns). Working across the University, you will develop close and supportive relationships with senior staff and talented students alike.

The University’s Alumni Fund helps students to have an outstanding student experience by funding a range of projects including scholarships for students in need; community programmes; international experiences; learning resources and student-led projects. You will raise awareness of the Fund to the student community, and you will manage the funding application process, taking an active role in awarding funding to successful projects.

The Communications Officer will be responsible for supporting the communications and digital team to maintain consistent and high-quality communications across our global membership, donors and external stakeholders. 

They will handle the day-to-day operations of our programme communications, website, social media platforms, member community forum, asset management, email marketing, and event communication, ensuring consistent messaging and branding.

The post-holder will need to have a collaborative and inclusive spirit as this role will involve working closely and across teams within and outside Start Network. They will be a great writer, editor with good attention to detail, and an eye for design.

The Communications Officer will report to the Communications Manager and will work closely with the Digital team to ensure success of both digital and traditional communications.

 KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Content development, publication, and dissemination

• Craft and edit compelling multimedia content for a global audience including news articles, press releases, blogs, videos, and case studies

• Adapt content for websites, social media, email campaigns, etc., ensuring each format is optimized for its specific audience and channel. 

• Plan and maintain the content calendar together with the Digital team to ensure consistent delivery and audience engagement. 

• Promote and disseminate content through various channels including but not limited to social media and partner platforms 

• Collaborate with Start Network teams, members, and hubs to transform and disseminate reports, learning materials, grants, impact stories and other resources into clear, compelling, and accessible formats. 

• Uphold the Start Network brand by ensuring all external facing materials is according to the brand guidelines 

 COMMUNICATIONS MATERIALS, AND ASSETS 

• Develop and maintain communication materials of Start Network including but not limited to fact sheets, brochures, marketing materials, presentations, core scripts, impact reports, guidance and templates, etc and ensure the team and members are able to effectively use them

• Ensure that visibility guidelines for members and programmes are kept up to date, and work with members and hubs to ensure these are being used accordingly

• Maintain the organisation and accessibility of Start Network's digital assets. This includes maintaining our digital asset platform and keeping tabs on photos, videos, presentations, logos, and other creative materials from and for members, hubs, and the Start Network team.

COMMUNICATIONS PLATFORM MANAGEMENT 

• Support the management of Start Network’s social media channels and manage day-to-day engagement in close collaboration with the Digital team 

• Lead the management of the member community by posting weekly news and updates from across our programmes and lead on the production of email newsletters and e-marketing. 

• Support the management of digital platforms handled by the Communications and Digital team 

• Communication operations 

• Support the communications team meetings, including book diaries and setting up Zoom links when relevant. 

• Manage the communications inbox and ensure enquiries are dealt with swiftly. 

• Work with the finance team to process invoices from communications suppliers. 

• Ensure communications contacts and relationships are managed using Salesforce. 

• Closely work with Event Coordinator to ensure Start Network events are well-promoted and disseminated

An exciting opportunity for a motivated and creative fundraiser to develop a strategic programme of mid to high level donors for a charity working to build a fairer UK justice system within everyone’s reach.

As the Major Gifts Fundraiser, you will play a pivotal role in developing and sustaining fundraising relationships, working closely with the Director of Development, Chief Executive and Senior Management Team. You will be an integral member of the Development Team and work across other teams, particularly the Communications and Policy Teams to maximise fundraising and engagement opportunities and to deliver a first-class giving experience to every major individual donor.

What the job involves

Funding research that will improve the lives of men with, or at high risk of, prostate cancer is one of Prostate Cancer UK’s highest priorities. We’re looking to appoint an enthusiastic and proactive Senior Research Impact Officer to join our Research Directorate. You’ll join an existing Senior Research Impact Officer to support the Senior Research Impact and Intelligence Manager to find, communicate and accelerate the impact of Prostate Cancer UK’s funded research. Taking responsibility for 50% of our ‘completed and in follow-up’ portfolio of research grants, you’ll act as their primary contact, assessing the likelihood of, and proximity to, impact.

You’ll use your scientific knowledge to understand the science behind these projects and communication skills to build strong working relationships with the researchers. With your research experience you’ll develop a detailed understanding of the outputs, outcomes and impact arising from the research we funded and support our research community to accelerate their pathway to impact.

What we want from you

Your role is important to the charity, as supporting research that can ultimately deliver a tangible impact to men affected by prostate cancer is a significant focus in our charity strategy.

You’ll need to be passionate about research making an impact and hold a bio-medical science degree (or a degree in a related subject), with research experience. You can understand complex scientific information presented in reports, publications or presentations and explain these complex concepts in a simple and engaging way to a range of audiences including peers within the charity as well as men and their families affected by the disease. You’ll be motivated to consistently perform to the highest standards, with an eagerness to trial new ideas, identify new opportunities and solve problems.

In any one day you could be helping develop an impact case study for the website, interviewing researchers for project updates, supporting delivery of a research event, or using social media to disseminate the work of our funded researchers. Your primary focus will be on the impact of our funded research, but you’ll also work closely with our research funding team, as well as with other teams across the charity.

Property Management & Resources Officer

We are offering an interesting and varied opportunity to support the work of the Connexional Team and the wider Methodist Church in delivering its strategic plan to make the best use of its property portfolio in local communities across the country and centrally.

Working alongside the Director and colleagues within the Property Support team, you will be providing support and management to Connexional property, particularly focussing on the Connexional manse portfolio and its resident ministers.  Alongside this, you will lead on the communications and resourcing to the District Property Officer network and other relevant networks, across the Connexion.

About You

We are looking for someone who wants to make a positive contribution to the work of the Property Support team and be equally comfortable collaborating in a team environment or under your own initiative.  You will preferably have experience supporting a senior team within a property function and preferably have some experience in a property or project management type function.

As the role will underpin and contribute to supporting the team’s work with external colleagues, particularly the District Property Officer network, it is essential that you are comfortable in engaging with a range of stakeholders, and have excellent organisational skills, particularly in terms of resourcing and training.

We are seeking a motivated and confident person who can deliver a high-quality professional service, to work on our helpline. Previous experience of working in health, social care or the helpline sector is essential. You need to be a patient, empathetic listener with excellent verbal and written communication skills. The role will involve assessing and responding to callers' needs via our telephone and email service providing practical and emotional support and delivering learning sessions about PSP and CBD to health and social care professionals. Ideally, you will have experience working on a helpline or in a health or social care setting.

Ability and willingness to travel within your region is essential.  Occasional weekend work may be required.  The role covers the following regions: Greater London, Kent, Essex & Surrey.

The role

MIND in Haringey and its partner Public Voice delivers the Voluntary and Community (VCS) Capacity Building contract commissioned by the London Borough of Haringey. The Contract includes the administration and management of the Volunteer Centre and the development and promotion of a Navigation Network (NavNet) knowledge sharing platform, META Workplace.

Day-to-day management of the Community Collaborative service is the responsibility of the Haringey Community Collaborative Manager.

Prostate cancer is harming too many men, in exchange for too few cures, which is why we are motivated more than ever to deliver a future where prostate cancer is no longer limiting men’s lives. We invest in the most innovative research which will expand our understanding of prostate cancer and one day improve the lives of men with the disease. Recently we announced the funding of the TRANSFORM study, a £42 million programme to trial on a national scale new ways to screen for prostate cancer. It’s through this initiative that we intend to generate the definitive evidence needed to underpin a national screening programme for prostate cancer which could save thousands of men’s lives each year.

What the job involves

As a Diagnosis Research Lead, you’ll oversee the management of the TRANSFORM study on behalf of the charity, closely monitoring progress and spend against project timelines/budgets and regularly reporting back to key stakeholders internally and externally about this exciting initiative. You’ll regularly liaise with the study leads and the wider network of collaborators, as well as set up and oversee the management of the governance steering committees for the programme.

You’ll develop a detailed understanding of our portfolio of research and the wider diagnostic research landscape for prostate cancer, establishing and maintaining relationships with relevant research groups and companies working in the diagnostic space. This role will also involve working closely with colleagues in our communications and fundraising directorates to showcase the TRANSFORM study to public, scientific and healthcare professional audiences, demonstrating our research efforts towards achieving earlier and accurate diagnosis. 

What we want from you

We believe the TRANSFORM study will generate practice-changing evidence to support screening for prostate cancer, with the potential to save thousands of men’s lives in the UK each year. This is therefore a critical role to us. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about, and experienced in, research grant management and in particular, the management and delivery of multi-site clinical trials.

We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic about research and able to understand and communicate complex scientific information found in applications, progress reports, research papers and presentations. You’ll be a confident and clear communicator, able to build strong working relationships and provide valuable support to a wide range of stakeholders, including senior researchers, senior colleagues, trustees, corporate partners and committee members.

With experience in project management, you’ll have an ability to organise and prioritise a diverse workload depending on business need, delivering to stipulated timeframes whilst consistently maintaining the highest standards, with a meticulous attention to detail. This role will also require you to be proficient in the use of standard IT packages (most notably Microsoft Office), ideally with experience of grant management software such as Symplectic Grant Tracker.

Importantly, you must be excited and motivated about achieving major improvements for men with, or at high risk of, prostate cancer.

Due to our ongoing growth in order to meet increased local demand for existing and new services, we are now looking for an Executive Assistant to support the Senior Management Team (CEO, Head of Community Programmes, and Business and Events Manager) by carrying out a range of administrative tasks for each member of the team.

This role will be crucial in enabling the senior managers to focus on their responsibilities for growing and managing the organisation, and assisting in our mission to support a healthy and cohesive community in south Westminster through a range of activities and services.

The Philanthropy Specialist plays a major role in meeting the organisation's ambitious fundraising goals. Responsible for major giving and grants portfolios, the Philanthropy Specialist identifies, cultivates, solicits and stewards financial support from generous individuals and granting bodies.

With a proven track record the successful candidate will network with key stakeholders, present compelling communications and generate significant funds. In turn, these funds will enable Animal Equality to achieve its ambitious financial targets and carry out its crucial campaigns to meaningfully transform and save the lives of farmed animals.

General Responsibilities:

• Oversee a dedicated portfolio of donors and prospects
• Proactively build our supporter base
• Increase demand for farmed animal philanthropic giving
• Inspire loyalty to the cause
• Meet and exceed annual income targets in support of our vision
• Oversee the organisation of supporter events
• Implement a strategic fundraising strategy

Position Requirements:

• A minimum of five years of related work experience in major gifts fundraising or in the field of marketing and communications, preferably at a non-profit advocacy organisation.
• A proven track record of bringing in major donations of six-figure sums.
• Experience with Salesforce CRM preferred.
• A practical understanding of fundraising, GDPR and charity regulation.
• Knowledge of and proven ability to develop and implement fundraising strategies.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Comfortable presenting professionally.
• A positive attitude, excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication, and the ability to work cooperatively with others in a team-oriented work environment.
• Ability to work additional hours, as needed, to meet deadlines, travel occasionally and manage workflow.
• Professional appearance and adherence to a vegan lifestyle.
• Commitment to the objectives of Animal Equality.
• You will be required to travel to London once per month at your own cost.

Salary and Benefits:

Salary band £37,000-£40,000, depending on experience. This is a remote working opportunity (UK-based candidates only).
