WHAT IS START NETWORK?
Our purpose is to be a catalyst for system-level change that improves the efficiency, effectiveness and ethics of humanitarian action. We do this by working as a network to develop, test & spread new ways of collaborating and resourcing locally-led crisis response and anticipation.
Our current membership is made up of nearly 100 local, national and international NGOs based all around the world. We also support 10 national and regional hubs made up of civil society organisations and NGOs as our vehicle for devolving power, resources and accountability.
OUR SOLUTIONS
DECENTRALISNG & LOCALLY-LED ACTION: Shifting power and resources and decentralising decision-making to locally led networks and organisations.
EARLY & RAPID FINANCING: Building a global financing system that reduces risk, anticipates, and acts ahead of predictable crises.
COMMUNITY-LED INNOVATION: Incentivising innovative, locally led, and contextual solutions and learning from them together with people affected by crises.

WE ARE INCLUSIVE: We see the value in diverse perspectives and work to remove the barriers that prevent voices from being heard.
WE ARE OPEN: We work transparently and with integrity, building mutual trust in all levels of our work, from governance to programming.

A great personality and team ethic are really important in this role as you will maximise income for Young Live vs Cancer by coaching our supporters to reach their goals, whilst seeking out new fundraising opportunities for your geographical area. This role sits within the ‘Regional Engagement' team and we need someone with natural customer service skills who wants to deliver a legendary experience to all of their supporters. What we offer is the flexibility and adaptivity to ensure that your personal work/life balance is taken care of. Whether it is finishing early for an appointment, picking up from school or further education, we can help to make it work for you. Many of the team work condensed or flexible hours to suit their individual circumstance so we would love to discuss your needs more at interview.
Experience within a similar role, or within the charity sector, would be great but we know that a lot of the most important skills in this role are easily transferable from another sector. We want the right person and we will invest in training the right candidate. The skills we are looking for in this role are:
• Master at storytelling
• Epic at relationship building

We are committed to taking anti-oppressive action and removing barriers in our recruitment practices. We particularly welcome applications from members of minoritised communities and creating equitable opportunities for all. We are passionately committed to taking actions and making changes to be a truly diverse, inclusive and equitable organisation, as well as reflective of the diverse children and young people we support.
