We are seeking a well organised individual to support with the management and development of our foundations, grants and trusts work.

As we enter our seventh year as a charity and our work established within West Wales, we are now getting set to fulfil our mission that all children, wherever they reside in Wales, should be able to access the right support, at the right time.

Our new Foundations, grants and trusts officer will Work closely with the fundraising Officer and wider team and be able to guide and navigate their way through the various ways we need to engage with, apply to and subsequently report back to trusts and foundations; large and small.

The role is offered full or part-time and with the flexibility of office based in Pembrokeshire or working remotely from anywhere within Wales. The role will support our work across Wales and will have regular travel around the country and to meetings in our Pembrokeshire Centre.

As Trusts and Foundations Manager, you will advise, develop and implement a strategy to secure income, and build a sustainable income stream, from charitable trusts, National Lottery and statutory bodies as part of the overall fundraising strategy. You will proactively prospect research to identify potential charitable trusts, National Lottery and statutory bodies funding streams with a view to securing restricted and unrestricted income for core activity and for new programmes of work. You will also be responsible for the account management of trust, lottery and statutory grants; ensuring that reporting is on-time, compliant with grant terms and conditions, professional and of high quality.

Key Tasks

• Working with the Communications Officer to create content for websites, digital platforms, social media, email campaigns and other channels. This includes the Trust’s Inside King’s magazine as well as our own channels. It could involve interviewing staff, patients and volunteers, creating films, taking photographs.
• Organising, distributing and updating the Charity’s marketing materials around the Trust, including posters, leaflets and banners.
• Helping to maintain the Charity’s social media presence, creating and scheduling engaging content across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn, producing analytics reports and using insights to inform future strategy.
• Developing our use of Sharepoint as an internal communications channel, and maintaining the Charity’s presence on the King’s staff intranet.
• Helping the Communications Officer keep our website fresh and engaging, identifying key user journeys and supporting colleagues across the charity to use the website to achieve business goals.
• Acting as a champion for the Charity’s work by attending regular events and assist in delivering internal engagement opportunities, such as fundraising events, celebrations, and so on.
• Generating reports on the team’s KPIs across all digital platforms, helping to improve user journeys across our digital platforms.

Person Specification

Your key responsibilities include:

Philanthropy and fundraising partnerships programme management

- Provide supportive and dynamic line management for members of the Philanthropy and Fundraising Partnerships team, including facilitating regular supervision meetings and supporting their personal development and training.
- Serve as a member of the Global Fundraising, Marketing and Communications Leadership Team.
- Keep up to date with the latest legislative and statutory developments relating to the role, advising staff and the Senior Leadership Team as appropriate.

Your knowledge:

- Proven knowledge of fundraising and/or marketing.

The post-holder will oversee income generation from grant-making organisations and ensure timely reporting to funders.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate the following essential requirements:

• Drive growth of Trusts and Foundations income especially at the five- and six-figure level, with a particular view to supporting unrestricted income and major projects in the organisation’s pipeline.
• Proactively manage a personal portfolio of Trusts and Foundations, regularly meeting and engaging with prospective funders to pitch proposals and check-in around expectations. 
• Liaise with key internal stakeholders to develop accurate, compelling funding applications in line with deadlines set by funders. 
• Build lasting relationships with funders in order to establish opportunities for multi-year income generation.
• Drive the Trusts and Foundations prospecting process and increase the range of prospects approached for support, utilising prospect research tools and securing introductions from our network.

INTRODUCTION TO THE ROLE

We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Development and Outreach Officer to play a key role in mobilising resources, expanding the network, and raising awareness about child marriage globally. The Development and Outreach Officer will work within the Development and Outreach Team to develop and implement fundraising strategies, cultivate donor relationships, lead the development of grant proposals and reporting processes, and support with outreach events.
 

We are looking for a passionate fundraiser with previous experience in a similar role in the not-for-profit sector, international/intergovernmental organisation or social enterprise. You will have a proven track record of writing funding proposals for trusts and foundations, excellent relationship management and impeccable written communication skills.
 

Job location

London, UK (hybrid with up to three days on site per week). May include international travel.

Salary range

£32,600 rising on an annual incremental basis. Girls Not Brides also offers a generous 10% pension.

Contract

This is a permanent full-time role. The successful candidate must have the right to work in the United Kingdom at the time of applying.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Proposal development, grant management and reporting

•  Develop concept notes and proposals, collaborating with relevant teams to ensure alignment with Girls Not Brides’ priorities and with donor requirements.
• Coordinate the preparation of budgets, work plans, and other supporting materials for grant applications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with donor guidelines.
• Support in monitoring grant timelines, deliverables, and reporting requirements to ensure compliance and accountability.
• Prepare timely and accurate donor reports and updates.
   

Donor cultivation and stewardship

• Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and prospective donors to expand Girls Not Brides’ network and strengthen collaborations. 
   

Fundraising strategy

• Contribute to the development and implementation of fundraising strategies to diversify and increase Girls Not Brides’ funding base, in alignment with organisational goals and priorities.
• Research and identify potential funding opportunities from diverse sources, including trusts and foundations, governments and corporates.
• Collaborate with Girls Not Brides’ internal teams (regional, finance, communications, learning and impact teams) to maximise fundraising opportunities.
   

Outreach events

•  Support the team in the planning and implementation of events and outreach work throughout the year, working with other teams in the Secretariat, our members and partners.
•  Represent Girls Not Brides at meetings, conferences, and events to network with existing and potential donors, to promote the organisation's mission and impact.

Essential experience

• Significant professional experience in a similar level role in the not-for-profit sector, an international/intergovernmental organisation, a social movement, research centre or social enterprise.
• Proven track record of successfully securing grants and donations from diverse sources, with experience in proposal writing, donor cultivation, and grant management.

• Excellent communication, networking and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to persuade and inspire others.
• Outstanding written communication, creative thinker, and the ability to write for different audiences.

An exciting opportunity for a motivated and creative fundraiser to develop a strategic programme of mid to high level donors for a charity working to build a fairer UK justice system within everyone’s reach.

As the Major Gifts Fundraiser, you will play a pivotal role in developing and sustaining fundraising relationships, working closely with the Director of Development, Chief Executive and Senior Management Team. You will be an integral member of the Development Team and work across other teams, particularly the Communications and Policy Teams to maximise fundraising and engagement opportunities and to deliver a first-class giving experience to every major individual donor.

The JUSTICE team currently work in a hybrid manner. Staff members have access to office space in London, however, attendance is currently optional.
