Role Summary
Bliss is the UK’s leading national charity for babies born premature or sick, and we are looking for a skilled Trusts and Foundations Programme Lead to join our enthusiastic and passionate Fundraising team. You will bring your skills in bid writing, stewardship, and high-value relationship management to deepen our engagement with trusts and foundations, and to identify and secure new opportunities for funding.
Historically, Bliss has worked with external consultant support to manage our trusts and foundations fundraising. This is a new role within the organisation as we look to take a more meaningful, relationship-based approach to our trusts and foundations donors. It’s a fantastic opportunity for someone with proven experience in trusts and foundations fundraising looking for a part-time position to make a real difference for babies and families.
Role Details
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with proven experience in trusts and foundations to make a real difference as part of a small, dynamic and dedicated charity. Working closely with Bliss’ senior management team and managing the relationship with our fundraising consultants, you’ll work with a high degree of autonomy to strengthen and grow our support from trusts and foundations.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
· Proven experience of writing bids to successfully secure five- or six-figure and multi-year grants.
· Excellent relationship management skills; the ability to quickly build trusting relationships with funders, partners and colleagues of all levels.
· Exceptional writing skills with the ability to translate complex information into clear, compelling cases for support.
· Influencing skills, including demonstrable experience of effectively working with senior colleagues and/or external stakeholders.

KidsOut’s support is offered to every child in a Women’s Aid refuge and over 100 independent refuges as well as children and young people experiencing crisis and challenge from some of the most marginalised and disadvantaged communities across the UK. Many of the 70,000 children and young people we support have undergone traumatic experiences, which can cause significant harm to their psychological development, their emotional wellbeing, their school life and their relationships.
We aim is to restore some normality and provide comfort to these traumatised children and young people though our programme of wellbeing amd educational activities. Our multi-faceted activities include fun days out, music, sport and art workshops as well as delivery of our bespoke Toyboxes to every child arriving at refuge. In this role you will be managed by our Head of Grants, Eleonora Arcese. Eleonora joined ClientEarth in 2016 and is based in London. Prior to joining ClientEarth, she worked for a number of environmental NGOs where she managed a portfolio of projects focused on EU and international climate and energy policy, sustainable development, and conservation.

Main Duties
- Funding portfolio management - Have a close and in-depth knowledge of their grants portfolio, including a sound understanding of the philanthropic, institutional and statutory funding mix;
- Internal and external communications - Meet with Trust, Foundation and Institution portfolio managers to discuss proposals, provide updates on the programmatic work, and to formally report back on financial, organisational and technical issues;
- Project management - Effectively manage reporting and the grant renewal process from start to completion including working with multiple teams across ClientEarth’s European and international offices to ensure input from all avenues to complete proposals and reports in a timely and high-quality manner; and
- Financial planning and budget handling - Work with Finance and Programmes staff to develop individual budgets for funding proposals
- Systems and processes - Maintain funder database systems (Raiser’s Edge) and other organisational databases (SharePoint) on a daily basis
Role requirements
- Experience of working in a grant management or project management role for a charity, NGO, private or public entity
- Experience of reporting to private foundations including trusts
- Experience drafting proposals and securing funding from foundations and other funding institutions
- Experience and knowledge of budgeting, and organisational (e.g. not for profit/charity) finances

Sightsavers is looking for a Head of Institutional Funding - a vital role within our expanding institutional funding team to lead the development and implementation of a portfolio of work currently focused on West Africa and lead on the development of strategic partnerships with individual institutional donors

We are looking for an experienced institutional funding expert to lead and manage a busy portfolio. This is a role in which the successful candidate will need to juggle multiple and complex projects. Key duties will include:
- Leading the development and implementation of a portfolio of work within the institutional funding team (IFT) currently focused on West Africa (17 Anglophone, Francophone and Lusophone countries), and lead on the development of strategic partnerships with individual institutional donors as prioritised.
- Providing direct line management and strategic support to a sub-team within IFT, that will support continued income growth and contract management, in line with the Institutional Funding strategy.
- Managing existing grant / contracts falling within the remit of this role and secure new income to the organisation.

This role is involved and multi-faceted with regular meetings across the organisation. This is a full-time role that may be worked from home for the majority of the time however some visits to our offices in Haywards Heath, West Sussex (RH16 3BW) will be required. On average this is likely to be twice per year. If you prefer to work from or are visiting our collaborative, modern office space, you will find it an easy 20-minute train journey from Brighton or 45 minutes from London. The Role

- To research and develop a trust and foundation pipeline and prepare and submit grant applications and draft progress reports
- To grow our income and diversify our donor pool through targeted campaigns
- To grow our network – including influencers and organisations that can help to raise our profile
- To ensure appropriate stewardship processes are in place so that donors at all levels feel well thanked and informed of their impact.
- To grow our presence amongst small to medium businesses, London schools and local residents
- To build partnerships with businesses to extend our profile and find new funding opportunities
- To effectively engage schools and businesses to support the Foundation, to raise awareness and help raise funds
- To liaise with the team on a regular basis to explore better community engagement, local connections, and fundraising opportunities

The successful post holder will be expected to represent and work in accordance with the ethos of the Diocese of Salford and to ensure the highest standards of financial management are maintained. This post is required to assist the diocese in the applications for grants for capital and revenue purposes.
What we are looking for: We are looking for a person with excellent written skills with the ability to produce concise and creative bids. The post holder will have proficient IT skills, specifically Microsoft Office software and excellent communication and presentation skills required to build relationships with potential funders. They will have demonstrative ability to plan and prioritise their own workload with minimum supervision and be able to plan ahead and work within agreed timeframes.
What you will need: The successful candidate will need to be educated to A Level standard or equivalent and have experience of National Lottery Heritage Fund applications. They will have significant experience in Trusts, Grants or Corporate grant and bid writing as well as a proven record of successful applications for funding from Trusts and/or other Grant making bodies. They will possess a demonstrative ability to develop relationships with partners, Trusts, and other Grant-making bodies. Experience of researching Trust and Grant funding opportunities is essential.
