Many sectors will coalesce around the demand for investment in public services, and TJ-UK will be at the forefront of this debate.
Your role will help to win progressive tax reforms, build political support and anchor our campaigning with sound policy analysis. You don’t need a background in tax policy if you can demonstrate an ability to learn and master complex policy briefs. You do need to be hungry for change and be able to convince people in positions of power that progressive tax reform is sensible and feasible. Your policy expertise, political nouse and parliamentary knowledge will help the team to deliver change.
TJ-UK has a track record of securing campaign wins. We have built strong relationships with parliamentarians, policy makers and a network of influential think tanks and organisations. We also have excellent relationships with many influential media outlets, regularly securing extensive media coverage on tax justice issues.

This is a varied and integral role providing administrative support to Arthritis Action’s Finance, Executive Management, Services Teams and Trustees, working under the supervision of the Operations Manager.
Your role will provide day to day operational assistance in our London office including: meeting and diary management, writing minutes and providing admin support across the Charity. Liaison with the landlord and office suppliers, assist with finance including processing direct debits, staff credit cards and supplier invoices and compiling monthly reports. About the role:
As an Area Manager, you’ll lead and support shop teams across your designated area, made up of paid and voluntary staff. You will take full accountability for the profit of a mixed portfolio of shops in the Surrey and Middlesex area; this accountability extends to all income streams and controllable shop expenses. You will also be instrumental in developing and delivering, through your shop teams, high levels of supporter experience through well-presented shops and excellent supporter service. This is a full time, field-based role. You will have an office base but the majority of the working week will be spent in shops with a need to travel daily between your shops. This is a new role in our structure, playing a key part in delivering capital investment programme in line with the business plan – whilst working closely with other members of the team to ensure we maintain compliance and maintenance. As part of the Asset Management team restructure, we have identified a need for a Building Surveyor to assist the Head of Asset Management to deliver Capital Investment programme. By bringing these skills in house, it is hoped to create a more dynamic role with the benefit of ability to oversee upcoming works and provide additional resources to areas we need additional expertise such as dilapidations, disrepair, HHSRS and damp and mould.
You will be involved in the specification writing process (unless specialist consultancy is required) and lead the procurement to ensure we are OJEU compliant in our appointment of the appropriate contractor. You will lead on the delivery of capital investment programme, ensuring planned works are appropriately procured to ensure value for money and adequately experienced/qualified contractors deliver works. You will also undertake and maintain stock condition surveys, undertake building surveys to complete dilapidations, complex repair scoping of works (and specification writing – where appropriate), disrepair, damp and mould inspections (more complex cases) and provision of technical expertise in absence of Head of Asset Management. In addition, you will support colleagues across the business to empower them to confidently make low level decisions themselves.

Essential skills include leadership, strategic thinking, negotiation, and financial management, alongside proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Personal attributes include a commitment to defending human rights, cultural sensitivity, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure. Willingness to travel up to 16 weeks per year, including to remote areas, is necessary.

The Role
As a Marketing Officer (copywriting and content) you will build brand awareness and help to ensure the Yorkshire Cancer Research brand is accurately and consistently presented at all times.
Supporting the the Marketing Manager you will ensure consistency in brand messaging, tone of voice and visual brand representation. You will extend the charity’s reach across Yorkshire by supporting the delivery of integrated marketing and fundraising campaigns. You will also communicate effectively to our supporters to strengthen our relationship with them, create high quality and engaging copy, brand and marketing collateral and supporter communications.
Specifically, you will:

Develop high-quality, supporter-focused written marketing communications for a broad range of channels and supporter touchpoints. These shall consistently apply the Yorkshire Cancer Research tone of voice principles, use the key brand messages and always put the supporter at the heart of our charity’s communications.

You will work with the brand team to help to maintain, update and improve our charity’s messaging and will provide training, support and guidance to colleagues as required.

Lead the development of messaging, copy, content and collateral to support marketing and fundraising propositions or campaigns.

Lead the creation of written copy and marketing content / assets (including, but not limited to, case studies, photography, key messages, quotes, claims, digital and printed collateral) to support the needs of colleagues across the charity.

Help develop copy for / lead the creation of key corporate communications, working with relevant Brand & Relationships team members (e.g. Fundraising / Communications).

Westway Trust is seeking a highly experienced and professional Senior HR Manager to join our vibrant, friendly team of three on a 2-year fixed-term contract to deliver a strong, credible, and reliable service across all aspects of our HR function in support of the range of activities undertaken by the organisation. Key responsibilities of the role include but not limited to:
- Provide high quality support to the Head of Governance and HR on aspects of the Trust’s HR function and on the provision of accurate, timely and relevant updates and reports as required by the Executive Team.
- Ensure effective up-to-date HR policies and relevant other policies that meet the needs of the Trust and its staff are in place, reviewing them on an agreed schedule in line with the Trust’s Policy Matrix and updating as required. Identify any gaps in the suite of HR policies and develop new policies to fill that gap. Overall maintenance of the Policy Matrix.
- Lead on the Trust’s EDI policy, ensuring that the policy is implemented in a practical way throughout the organisation and in all our activities. Ensure the HR-related recommendations of the Tutu Foundation review into institutional racism at the Trust are progressed to a conclusion.
- Support the Head of Governance and HR in delivering the actions that support preparations for the next Investors in People (IiP) external assessment in late 2024. Ensure the Trust’s HR policies and practices remain consistent with the IiP standard.
- Work proactively with the HR Business Partner on the running of staff recruitment and selection processes, including sitting as the HR representative on the interview panel for more senior roles.
Essential Experience, Skills and Attributes
- Substantial experience of working in HR operations and of developing and reviewing appropriate HR policies and procedures in a charity or similar setting.
- Sound understanding of employment law and a willingness to keep up-to-date with relevant legislative changes.
- A passion for EDI and an ability to be creative and engaging in communications around this subject.
- Strong organisational skills and an understanding of the importance of discretion and confidentiality.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including evidence of ability to adapt to a variety of cultural settings.
- A team player, with excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to earn quickly the trust and confidence of staff and other stakeholders.
Desirable Experience, Skills and Attributes:
- A good knowledge/understanding of the local area and community or demonstrable willingness to learn quickly.
