Coin Street Family and Children’s Centre have a fantastic opportunity for a motivated, energetic, and enthusiastic Early Years & Family Educator to join our Early Years team. 

The purpose of the role is to deliver stimulating and engaging play sessions, building relationships with parents/carers, and monitoring the progress of children, carrying out 1-2-1 work with families experiencing a range of difficulties. The post holder will be fully involved in all aspects of the day to day management of their designated services, including line managing the relevant front line staff. What you'll do:

Lead and motivate your team to ensure the championing of and maintenance of a positive local culture within your service
Deliver effective supervision and team meetings with staff and ensure that information, reporting and communication

Richmond Fellowship is part of Recovery Focus, a national group of charities highly experienced in providing specialist support services to individuals and families living with the effects of mental ill health, drug and alcohol use, gambling and domestic violence. From 1st June 2024 Richmond Fellowship will be merging with the mental health charity Humankind to form a single organisation that provides the joined-up mental health, housing and drug and alcohol support we’ve all known has been needed for decades. New Horizon Youth Centre has been commissioned by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) as part of an Alliance with Safer London, St Giles Trust and the Anna Freud Centre to deliver on their Children and Young People’s Violence and Exploitation and Reduction support service. The commission will run from June 2024 for three years. As part of this, an additional service will be set up within the NHYC Youth Justice team specifically to deliver on the Alliance contract. The Services Manager will be the key operational lead for the Alliance, and oversee successful delivery of housing casework services to young people fleeing violence and exploitation who are referred in. You should have experience of working in services that support young people fleeing violence or who are impacted by the criminal justice system, and have a solid understanding of housing options for young people under 25. Social Bite is on a mission to bring people together to build a collaborative movement to end homelessness.

We’re looking for a special someone to join our successful Jobs First programme that aims to provide employment opportunities to people in a situation of homelessness. We are looking for a person who will grow an existing relationship with a leading hospitality partner, building and developing relationships across their portfolio of sites. We need a dynamic, creative and reliable team member who can use their own initiative to build strong relationships with various stakeholders. In this role you will be working closely with Programme Co-ordinator to create opportunities for:

• people to gain employment,
• charities to establish referral pathways,
• building local-level relationships with site managers to drive brand awareness with the partnering employer.

A project has been established that is currently working with 33 schools and 33 churches in developing discipleship pathways for children and young people in Bolton. One key aspect of this project is the ‘Shades Project’, which focuses on racial justice and faith, supporting schools and churches in developing a culture for all children and young people, regardless of racial background, to thrive and flourish. In response to the exciting growth of the Shades Project, they are looking to appoint a Shades Project Worker to support the growing opportunities for Christian discipleship and to embed the Shades ethos in primary and secondary schools and parishes in Bolton deanery. 

The Shades Project Worker will work with the Shades team in primary and secondary schools, delivering Shades Collective Worship and Shades ‘Faith and Identity’ workshops. They will also lead Shades Ambassadors groups for those children and young people who are passionate about growing in their understanding of racial justice, the Christian faith, and becoming courageous advocates. The Shades Project Worker will also work with Bolton parishes and mission communities to promote the Christian message of God’s love for all of his children, encouraging children, young people, and adults to celebrate their God-given identities and to grow spiritually. 

The Shades Project Worker will have many opportunities for training and development, as well as the creative freedom to develop initiatives for children and young people. They will work within a highly motivated and supportive team, who are committed to prayer and to welcoming children and young people into the life of the church. 

The post holder should have experience of volunteering with children or young people in a church and/or school context. They will have a good knowledge of anti-racism and racial justice and a strong passion for a combined focus on the Christian faith and racial justice, as well as experience working with diverse communities. 

To succeed, they need to be enthusiastic, relational, self-motivated, and able to lead in a range of different contexts. They will be creative and able to lead and support activities in schools and parishes. They will be excellent communicators, with good interpersonal skills, sensitivity, and an ability to communicate effectively with people from a wide range of cultural backgrounds. They will be able to build and maintain effective working partnerships and have a working understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.

What you'll do:

* Technical condition surveys and reports on properties and their presentation to internal and external colleagues as required
* Designing, specifying and providing cost advice on any required maintenance, refurbishment, adaptation or development works
* Appointing and liaising with external contractors and consultants making sure work carried out is cost controlled and up to standard
* Pre, post and regular inspections and ensuring projects are delivered with quality and value for money

About the role

We're looking for an Assistant Financial Accountant to join our finance team located at our Head Office in Caledonian Road.

Reporting to the Financial Accountant, the Assistant Financial Accountant will be involved with all financial accounting and treasury activities for the organisation which includes Look Ahead Care & Support and its subsidiaries. Activities include the day to day monitoring and administration of Look Ahead's bank account, posting journals, producing monthly balance sheet reconciliations and assisting with the management of the outsourced payroll function.

What you'll do:

Assist with the production of the management accountants and annual financial statements for Look Ahead Care & Support (LACS) and its 3 subsidiary companies.
Assist the Financial Accountant with the annual year end audit process for the organisation including liaison with the external auditors.
Prepare the quarterly VAT return for Look Ahead and Look Ahead Developments.
Post all fixed asset journals, reconciling relevant balance sheet accounts monthly.
Prepare and post monthly journals and complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations for other general ledger accounts as required.
Ensure that Look Ahead's bank accounts are reconciled on a daily basis. Prepare and post daily journals for cash receipts, direct debits, and manual payments.
Assist with the preparation of payroll journals and the reconciliation of relevant payroll accounts e.g. payroll control, PAYE, pension, attachment of earnings etc.
Assist with the monthly payroll processing, including processing of overtime and payroll sample checking.
Assist with the administration of Look Ahead's pension scheme, including processing new joiners and leavers.
Assist the Financial Accountant with the development and day to day management of the SUN financial system across the whole finance team in order to achieve efficiencies and continuous improvement.

What will I be doing?

The role of Community Youth Worker is, by nature, highly relational and is a position of great influence that enables you to nurture, inspire, connect and empower young people from all walks of life, so they can make the most of their lives. As such, it is a role which is demanding and carries great responsibility, but provides exciting opportunities to impact the lives of young people.

Youth Café

The Youth Hideaway is our flagship project and is a fun open access youth café run by our team after school at our social enterprise café - The Hideaway.

As a Community Youth Worker some of your time will be spent assisting the Youth Café, Project Lead and Head of Youth Work in delivering this project and it may include:

• Helping to create a safe, fun and inspiring environment for the young people that attend
• Plan, prepare and deliver quality youth sessions
• Build healthy relationships with young people that attend the sessions, identifying and responding to the needs that may arise

Monthly Youth Hubs

Youth Hubs are fun open access youth clubs run by our youth workers in the community. These are run on a monthly basis on rotation in different areas within Guildford Borough. • Creating a safe, fun and inspiring environment for the young people that attend

• Planning, preparing and delivering quality youth club sessions

Schools Work

Essential

• A strong youth work background in a relevant field e.g.: youth work, teaching, social work
• Able to relate well to young people in all environments including (but not exclusively)school, 1:1, open youth clubs and partner projects
• Capable of building relationships with and liaising with other professionals
• Experience of leading workshops and / or groups sessions with young people
• Able to set appropriate boundaries with young people, in all situations
