The opportunity
We are seeking an experienced fundraising Manager, with the drive and determination to manage all aspects of our fundraising function. STADA has multiple fundraising streams. You will be responsible for oversight and growth of voluntary and statutory funding income, trusts and foundations, corporates, the statutory sector (including government bodies) Starting from a strong foundation with multiple opportunities for growth, you will lead on the delivery of our ambitious, multi-year, multi-disciplinary fundraising strategy with an annual fundraising plan agreed with our Executive Leadership Team. This is an exciting opportunity to build and lead fundraising activities. The fundraising Manager will be responsible for creating and implementing an innovative fundraising strategy (in consultation with the Senior Leadership Team) which aligns with our organisational goals and values. and proven experience is required.

About IKWRO

IKWRO –Women’s Rights Organisation (IKWRO) is an award-winning charity founded (as the Iranian and Kurdish Women’s Rights Organisation) in 2002. IKWRO is a registered charity which provides advice and support to Middle Eastern, North African and Afghan women and girls living in the UK, who have experienced, or are at risk of all forms of “honour” based abuse, including; forced marriage, child marriage and female genital mutilation (FGM), or domestic abuse.

We work with women and girls of all ages, including lesbian women, bisexual women and trans women. We offer services in Kurdish, Farsi, Arabic, Dari, Pashto, Turkish and English. IKWRO offers free advice, advocacy and counselling services and operates a refuge which provides safe accommodation and specialist support to single women at risk of “honour” based abuse, forced marriage and domestic abuse.

IKWRO also provides training for women and girls to help them understand their rights in the UK. In partnership with other organisations, we assist survivors of abuse with accessing English language classes and education, training and employment opportunities.

We campaign to increase awareness and improve laws and policies to tackle all forms of “honour” based abuse and harmful practices including; forced marriage, child marriage, marital captivity, female genital mutilation, virginity testing and hymenoplasty, discrimination by sharia courts and to push for better laws and policies to protect women’s and girl’s rights.

Purpose of Job

The Fundraising Officer will work as part of the Fundraising and Marketing team and will be responsible for:

• Nurturing relationships with existing and prospective donors

• Sustaining and developing our group of individual and community-based supporters.

• Growing income, including regular giving, donations, appeals, legacy giving, community groups and other fundraising activities.

We are looking for a strong communicator with some experience of fundraising who is keen to develop their career in this area.

This post can be undertaken on a hybrid working basis with some days home-working and some days working in IKWRO’s offices.

• Significant knowledge and experience of a wide range of fundraising; with a demonstrable track record of growing income in at least two of our fundraising growth areas: legacies, major donors, corporate partnerships or regular givers.
• Experience of leading and implementing strategies, including setting and overseeing strategic projects led by others.
• Experience of using CRM systems to their full potential, interpreting donor data, analysing findings and making decisions based on your analysis. Knowledge and experience of the Donorfy platform is desirable, but not essential. 
• Knowledge of the homelessness or social inclusion sectors would be desirable, but not essential.

Overview

The Fundraising Database Manager plays a key role within the team, with overall responsibility for the administration and oversight of the Raiser's Edge donor/alumni database, gift processing and alumni networking platforms across both schools. Responsibilities include maintaining the integrity of the data and ensuring it is up to date, optimising the database for fundraising appeals, generating reports and queries, providing professional support and training to users, processing all gifts and claiming Gift Aid. The database manager is also responsible for ensuring the department complies with all relevant data protection regulations

You are a motivated and highly organised self-starter, with a knack for methodical problem-solving, enthusiasm for the potential of data to drive effective fundraising and alumni relations, and a meticulous attention to detail. Beyond optimising and managing the database, you will also take the lead in implementing new financial and operational procedures which will make our fundraising and alumni relations work more efficient and effective, and which will be easy for less tech-minded team members to adopt and sustain.

You are comfortable extracting, interrogating and reporting on data to help inform strategy, always looking for ways to use and improve your skills and experience to make an impact. As a strategic thinker, you will be confident taking the lead on the operational requirements of a team, with efficiency and effectiveness at the core of your approach.

You will naturally be able to solve problems through creative thinking; you will know how to demonstrate data and insight analysis and prospect research to direct the performance of a successful major gift fundraising or business intelligence team. 

You will understand the importance of adhering to industry legislation, and work with a high degree of professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion.

Knowledge, skills, and experience

Experience in some or all of the below:

• funding opportunity portfolio planning and management
• developing supporter orientated propositions and Cases for Support
• identifying and researching high level major gift prospects in support of the successful solicitation of 5 and 6 figure gifts
• developing and maintaining processes for prospect identification, qualification, research, and tracking
• information management and interrogating and analysing data, to draw meaningful insights that support strong fundraising performance
• designing and producing a range of reports, ideally from a CRM as well as offline, to support and drive performance
• improving processes to achieve financial and non-financial objectives
• management of stewardship products/programmes and/or events
• supporting high-value fundraising teams
• line management
• liaising and working collaboratively with internal stakeholders at all levels
• comprehensive understanding of managing personal data in accordance with GDPR, data protection legislation and fundraising ethics
• ability to demonstrate, understanding and apply our Blue Cross values.

Responsibilities:

• To work with the team to collate an overall digital fundraising plan, communication channels, and measures of success
• Develop, create and implement multichannel digital fundraising campaigns, working with the relevant fundraising team
• To monitor new digital fundraising opportunities, agreeing tests with managers subject to budgets, and reporting on performance
• Evaluate, assess and adjust campaigns against digital fundraising and marketing key goals
• Help improve the website as a tool for fundraising and supporter engagement, focusing on the creation and development of landing pages, donation forms, and supporter actions
• Create engaging, impactful, and creative content to support fundraising and marketing campaigns for paid and organic digital and social media activity maximising engagement levels and income growth whenever possible.
• To lead ongoing strategic and operations testing across emails and digital fundraising to optimise fundraising for Haven House
• Produce high-quality, timely and inspiring emails for donors and supporters, to increase income and engagement
• Devise and manage innovative social media campaigns to increase social engagement, ensuring suitable mechanisms are in place to effectively evaluate their success
• Work with website developers to implement Google Analytics and Facebook tracking across the website and third-party tools
• Experience with creating and producing newsletters and appeals within an email service provider and experience with building campaigns through social media tools like Facebook Ad Manager within the software packages
