We provide therapies and support to those living with long term neurological conditions or who have a neuro divergence in Cornwall. As Head of Income Generation you will lead a small team to increase income and awareness of this well-respected health charity through fundraising and marketing activities. The postholder will be a member of the Senior Management Team and will contribute to the strategic direction and day-to-day operational management of the charity. We have an ambitious target to increase income by circa 60% over the next three years - therefore the successful candidate will need to demonstrate experience of meeting and exceeding fundraising targets - to ensure the charity is financially sustainable.

Key tasks will include:

• Lead the development of and promote the delivery of three new RSPB Nature Prescriptions to people living in diverse communities within Cardiff and the surrounding area.
• Develop relationships with key stakeholders in the NHS, health care and social care professionals to inspire and enable them to feel engaged and supported to co-create and prescribe a Nature Prescription, and to connect RSPB with the health sector to help create doors for future work.
• Engage with local healthcare professionals and community groups to co-design Nature Prescriptions materials with local people, community groups and healthcare professionals so that they reach a large diversity of people, and those that need and can benefit the most.
• Develop the project plan and ensure that the right governance structure for project management is in place and RSPB internal project management practices are followed, so that the project stays on track, comes in on budget and risks are identified, escalated, and managed within tolerances.
• Work with local environmental networks to build a picture of nature-based activities available and identify opportunities for partnership working.
• Lead on developing ways to evaluate and measure the impact of the project, including engaging with those prescribing and local communities to gather stories and case studies that demonstrate the benefits to wellbeing and connectedness to nature.
• Build internal relationships with RSPB employees and volunteers working with nature prescribing and nature and wellbeing across the UK.
• Develop a strategy and plan for Nature and Wellbeing work legacy aiming to learn from the work done in Scotland and England and from the communities and health care professionals in Cardiff and surrounds to support development of future work in Cardiff and beyond.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

• Experience of working within or alongside the health and wellbeing sector.
• Project management experience with experience of leading on and developing and delivering projects with diverse communities.
• Experience of developing external partnerships and balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders.
• Experience in delivering workshops or training, ideally with a co-design element.
• Excellent verbal and written communicator able to communicate nature and wellbeing messages in a way that is understood by a range of audiences and that engenders their support.
• Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage and deliver a varied workload.
• Skilled in using Microsoft 365 suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.

Desirable skills, knowledge, and experience:

• Experience of SharePoint management.

The Fundraising Development Manager role is a real opportunity to help Somerset Wildlife Trust develop a sustainable fundraising strategy and bring together the Fundraising and Supporter Development Team to retain and grow donations. Responsible for our 23,000 members, as well as appeals, adoptions, our online shop and member events, the Fundraising Development Manager will lead the team to bring in a significant proportion of unrestricted income, as well as managing the relationships with some of our most passionate supporters.

We are looking for an insightful fundraising manager who can help us maintain our existing fundraising channels as well as developing our corporate membership strategy and investigating new sources of giving and opportunities we have yet to take advantage of – essential if we are to achieve our ambitious strategy. You’ll be working with the entire wider fundraising team to help develop leads and pipelines to support the wider fundraising efforts, as well as having the opportunity to diversify our fundraising actions.

Meet Fundraising Strategic Targets

Supervise and line manage the Fundraising and Supporter Care Team by building integrated programmes of supporter development activities that retain and grow donations and fundraising from existing supporters and deliver growth in income by recruiting new financial supporters to achieve financial targets.

Responsibility 1: Leading Public Fundraising Activity

Manage fundraising activity through:

• Leading the fundraising team to build integrated programmes of activities that increase donors and deliver growth in income.
• Growing annual membership numbers by managing and maintaining current recruitment channels. Oversee relationships and engagement with our membership including complaint management.
• Managing the relationship with the Trust’s face to face membership recruitment company, SWWFL, to deliver best efficiency and returns on investment.
• Planning and implementing integrated appeals and other ways for members and the public to give which deliver strong results to support the Trust’s fundraising priorities and targets.
• Working as fundraising leadership team with the Philanthropy and Trusts & Grants Managers, supporting the Head of Fundraising on strategic projects.
• Developing and testing activities based on insights and analysis to ensure the best return on investment across all segments of the supporter base, to support fundraising colleagues.
• Managing existing corporate relationships to maintain and improve corporate fundraising levels, supporting account management of corporate partners.
• Establishing a data collection strategy in line with current data protection rules and which creates a pool of warm leads to convert into donors.
• Ensuring our new supporter database (Raiser’s Edge) is fully developed within the Trust and developed to maximise our integration with existing systems. Supporting teams across the organisation to use RE to increase knowledge of existing relationships and creating opportunities for fundraising and engagement.
• Managing the workload, performance and personal development of the supporter development team to drive more support and income for Somerset Wildlife Trust.
• Being accountable for setting the Supporter Development budget and reporting on performance against targets, to help inform planning and product development.
• Championing the use of best practice marketing techniques, including data collection and GDPR, throughout the Trust, with a particular commitment to delivering high standards of supporter care and fundraising practice.

Responsibility 2: Developing sustainable income streams

Be proactive and nurture strong relationships by:

• Identifying, developing and testing new individual giving fundraising activities based on insights and analysis, to ensure sustainable fundraising income across a variety of sources that target all segments of the supporter base.
• Identifying and testing membership recruitment diversification channels and growing annual membership income via techniques including upgrades.
• Designing and implementing a fundraising strategy for corporates, including identifying targets, developing relationships, and significantly increasing income from this fundraising channel. Work with other corporate functions across the Trust to ensure a combined corporate offering that benefits everyone.

Responsibility 3: Developing Fundraising pipelines

Provide management and accountability by:

• Working collaboratively with colleagues to contribute ideas and knowledge to deliver integrated engagement and fundraising campaigns and the growth of other income streams, including gifts of £1k+, gifts in wills, Community Fundraising and Grant Fundraising.
• Creating user journeys and stewardship for our supporters to help retention and increase giving propensities.
• Developing a warm lead generation and development program to increase the number of potential donors within our database, supporting all areas of individual giving including Community Fundraising, Legacies, Major Donors and Patrons.
• Working with the Database Officer, Philanthropy Manager and Community Fundraising Manager to identify segments within the database that could be developed into Major Donors or to support other fundraising income streams.
• Investigating and developing an event strategy to help support specific demographic groups including Corporates, members and other key supporters, including the annual AGM and members day.

About You:

Having previously worked within a direct marketing team within the charity sector, you’ll have experience project managing campaigns with external agencies and internal stakeholders utilising a variety of fundraising channels such as digital, email, social media, direct mail, and telemarketing. 

You’ll also have gained experience using Dynamics 365, Raisers Edge or a similar database. 

About The Role

• Lead on the planning and implementation of legacy and in mem fundraising portfolio, managing marketing campaigns from initial brief through to post campaign analysis. 
• Develop and maintain sustainable relationships with in mem supporters and legacy prospects in local communities, with the support of community fundraising managers and local volunteers – keeping these supporters at the heart of your work to to maintain and increase their support through excellent stewardship. 
• Prepare and administer correspondence and relevant paperwork and ensure maintenance for full and accurate database (D365/First Class) records, analysing financial and non-financial data to monitor and improve engagement and customer service performance.
• Proactively keep abreast of competitor activities, new initiatives and sector trends. 
• Effectively plan and execute legacy events around the country, with the aim of motivating supporters to consider leaving a gift in their Will.

Harris Hill are delighted to be working with a pregnancy research charity to recruit an excellent direct marketing or individual giving fundraiser to join the Individual Giving and Engagement team.

This position will lead on the management and development of projects and campaigns to acquire new and increase the value and loyalty of existing supporters across both digital and direct channels. You will be responsible for a portfolio of Individual Giving Fundraising across single, regular, prize-led, payroll, legacy and in-memory giving.

You will work closely with team members to develop supporter journeys and digital acquisition to grow acquisition and retention rates.

This varied role will involve briefing, monitoring and managing stakeholder relationships for Individual Giving campaigns and projects to ensure effective financial management, data management, supporter care, supporter engagement, digital product management and marketing processes are followed.

The ideal candidate will have experience of: 

• Managing Individual Giving campaigns (acquisition and retention) across a variety of direct and digital channels
• Using databases to inform Individual Giving campaigns
• Managing and delivering budgets and working with agencies
• Monitoring and evaluating campaigns, reporting results and make recommendations to improve performance.

This charity is also interested in applications from candidates with relevant skills in direct marketing who have not previously worked in a charity setting.

This is a hybrid role requiring 50% time in their Central London Office.
