The successful candidate will track and analyse media coverage of MSF in the UK through daily monitoring and the production of a weekly newsletter and quarterly reports. They will also debrief members of staff returning from MSF’s medical projects, as well as pitching stories to news outlets. The Role:

About the role
The Media Manager will be responsible for taking charge of the ITF’s global media strategy. We are looking for an experienced media relations professional who can further enhance and solidify ITF’s reputation as the global voice of transport workers and as an authoritative voice in the transport industry and global trade union movement.
We’re seeking an experienced media relations manager, preferably with international experience and with established media relationships amongst leading international media.
You will be part of team responsible for delivering solidarity and support to local, national and global disputes, building communications that reinforce the critical role transport workers play, developing strategies to support union-led policies on everything from health and safety to sustainability, and raising the volume on the global struggle to advance the rights and equalities of the world’s transport workers.
Your role will be pivotal for securing media coverage that raises awareness of the work and priorities of the ITF internationally across broadcast, print, online media, and trade press.
This hands-on role, will lead on developing, implementing and advancing ITF’s global media relations strategy. To be successful, it is important that you have:
- Experience as a news journalist or working in media handling, obtaining media coverage in an array of platforms/outlets.
- Strong contacts in the media (journalists, editors etc) to generate hard hitting news stories.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt language for a variety of audiences and media.
- Ability to be reactive when dealing with breaking news stories to maximise SCUK coverage
- Strategic thinking and planning skills, including ability to set priorities and evaluate progress.

Fairtrade Foundation is recruiting for a Media Officer to work within the media section of the Public Affairs Team on the development and delivery of media strategies and campaigns. You will need to build and maintain relationships with print, broadcast, and digital media outlets, to ensure impactful coverage of Fairtrade and its positive impact for producers.
The role is a vital and highly visible one within the Foundation. You will join a small high performing team that creates, develops, and promotes compelling stories about Fairtrade to increase awareness of Fairtrade's work, our mission and help influence for a fairer trade system, as well as playing a key role in events such as the Fairtrade Fortnight. You will have excellent writing skills, along with experience of working in a busy press office dealing directly with journalists and managing the external media monitoring and press clippings services. You will often be first point of contact for journalist enquiries. You should also have experience of using web content management systems and specialist journalist contact databases. If you have experience of organising events for journalists with the aim of securing media coverage, that’s great, but it’s not essential.

About you
The successful candidate will have proven campaigning and influencing success with a track record of delivering change. You will be an experienced people manager and able to lead multiple projects with limited supervision, as well as have an expert understanding of the political environment in Northern Ireland.
The right person will have a strong network across Northern Ireland’s political parties, including elected representatives, and Government departments, as well as good media connections, which they are able to use to support the delivery of the charity’s public affairs strategy.
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced public affairs manager looking to progress their career in a high-profile charity. You will manage the Policy and Public Affairs team in Northern Ireland and lead the delivery of evidence-based and carer-led public affairs, campaigning, media and research activity across Northern Ireland.
With your team you will lead on a wide range of activity including Carers NI’s policy, research and campaigning work; as well as being responsible for the delivery of awareness campaigns like Carers Week and Carers Rights Day; fronting media and social media activity and representing the charity at the highest level of decision-making in Northern Ireland.
Carers NI’s Policy and Public Affairs team also leads on the Carer Poverty Commission in NI, as well as the Advocacy and Voice Project for unpaid carers, which you will be responsible for delivering.

Purpose of Role:

Key Responsibilities
● To ensure all material adheres to the brand values, identity and marketing strategy, aligning this with the strategic plan for the organisation
