About the role
- This is a newly created role where you will have responsibility for driving an integrated approach to our audience influencing to deliver our strategic objectives, through collective oversight across our public affairs, stakeholder relations, communications and marketing work.
- The post holder will report to the Director of Policy and External Affairs and work closely with the CEO, wider Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and the Deputy Director of Strategic Development to enable purposeful reputational growth, enhanced brand recognition and the delivery of external impact.
- The post holder will need to be an experienced leader and manager; a people person able to inspire, nurture and support a team of motivated engagement and communications professionals as well as deputising for the Director more widely when required.
- To be successful, the post holder will need to be able to balance big picture thinking with driving practical implementation and outcomes across the team and thriving in ambiguity when needed. This role can be based at any of our hubs located in Birmingham, Leeds or London. We currently operate a hybrid model of two-days per week in the office and three-days from home.

Quest for Learning is an education charity on a mission to close the gap for primary school children in Oxfordshire who are falling behind - often due to complex and compounding disadvantage. About the role
We're looking for a dynamic, relationship-focused, and highly organised individual to oversee our teaching programmes, school partnerships, and tutor network.
This role is crucial to ensuring our programmes are high-quality, well-managed, and meeting the needs of schools. You will be the first point of contact for schools, building strong relationships with headteachers and SENCOs, and ensuring that we offer the right support at the right time.
You will manage our team of tutors, ensuring they have the resources, training, and support needed to deliver our programmes to the highest standard. - Work with the fundraiser to provide teaching-related content for funding bids and reports.
Person specification
Essential:
- Strong experience in account management, partnerships, or relationship management (preferably in education or the charity sector).
- Experience working in education or service delivery (e.g. as a teacher, tutor, or programme manager).
- Strong pedagogical knowledge and the ability to support tutors with teaching-related queries.

About this key role
As well as focusing on the delivery of the SOS+ Embedded Mentor Programme to targeted at risk students, our successful candidate will establish and maintain positive relationships with students to provide emotional support, guidance, and mentorship. The Service Manager will be responsible for the operations of a group of three specialist services, which support a total of seven customers with moderate to high support needs to live in their own homes. The role will provide line management for a Deputy Manager and support teams, ensuring that compliance with organisational, legal regulations and those of the local authority are adhered to and the quality of support is of the highest standard possible, ensuring excellent quality of life for customers and a good working environment for colleagues. The role will require the individual to be the CQC registered manager for services, making the person the accountable person with the Care Quality Commission, as well as with commissioners and key stakeholders.
The shift pattern for this role will primarily be Monday - Friday, 9.00am - 5.00pm. There will be a requirement to cover on call, occasional weekend and out of hours.

We are seeking a new Finance and Administration Officer following the upcoming retirement of a long-serving team member. A key member of the SLA central office team, the Finance and Administration Officer plays a vital role in ensuring smooth financial operations and providing essential administrative support for our membership. In addition to administration support, this role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, book-keeping and effective day-to-day financial operations, producing financial reports using XERO and our CRM.
You will be experienced in financial and administration operations of a charity or similar , with an AAT qualification or matching worked experience. Familiarity with XERO will be an advantage. You will be able to bring understanding of cashflow and financial analysis of figure, working with accountants as required.
You will also have excellent customer service skills and be able to work effectively with all stakeholders from our members, to funders to suppliers. You will be determined and have an excellent eye for financial and administrative detail. Your duties will include general administration and:
Financial operations and record-keeping
- Manage day-to-day financial transactions and maintain accurate records of all SLA accounts and petty cash; book-keeping
- Process and record all incoming payments, including foreign cheques (into bank account)

Event financial administration
- Manage financial aspects of SLA events, particularly the annual conference (e.g., exhibitors, sponsors, and delegates)

We are excited to be searching for a Men's Player Education and Welfare Officer to join us on a Casual basis. You will organise, facilitate and deliver an outstanding learning environment in all scheduled education sessions with England Development team players whilst they are on England international duty.
What You'll Do?
- Set up and organise all player education equipment for the duration of the camp or tournament.
- Print and organise all player education tasks ahead of each learning session.
- Ensure that all scheduled education sessions are delivered and supported whilst on camp, and to lead on this delivery.
- Provide flexible educational support, tailored to player's individual needs.
- Collate feedback and share with all education providers, club education staff, and parents / carers on player's progress, and where appropriate liaise with key stakeholders if required during the camp. Ensure that this feedback is completed within 2 days of the camp or tournament finishing.
- To be the designated Welfare Officer whilst on camp. Support the MDT to ensure that the player's welfare and safeguarding policy is upheld, with a focus on pastoral care throughout the camp duration.
- Work with the Team Manager and Head Coach to support supplementary organised activities i.e. life skills, cultural workshops, or educational visits.
- Attend at least one MDT planning meeting before each camp, and one MDT review meeting post-event to ensure appropriate handover and transfer of information from FA staff to event staff and vice versa.
- Support with off camp projects and stakeholder communication as required and directed.
- Respect the England team elite performance environment at all times.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties or additional tasks as directed by the Player Education Coordinator or other FA staff.

In this role, you’ll deliver integrated communications that bring our missions and the story of National Lottery funding to life. You’ll be the strategic voice behind the campaigns that highlight how communities are creating lasting social change.
You will focus on two key areas - your country, Scotland, and one of the four core missions - creating powerful alignment between them and helping to showcase the impact of community-led projects across the UK.

We are looking for a creative and strategic communicator with a passion for storytelling. You’ll be experienced in developing integrated campaigns and working across teams to deliver high-impact communications.

- Develop deep insight into at least one portfolio and mission, to enable you to implement effective communications plans for your mission and portfolio, aligned to the corporate plan, and the Fund’s customer journey, including supporting the Strategic Communications Lead to build and manage matrix teams.
- Provide communications support to portfolio and mission leads, including creating messaging, narrative and content, social and brand assets, working closely with colleagues in the wider team to deliver effective and impactful communications activities.

Scope of role
The role supports the delivery of our IT, facilities, health and safety across operations. They act as the first point of contact with outsourced providers and co-ordinate any work related to these areas.

- Leading on regular assessment of IT and systems needs for all services and administrative staff.
Facilities, Health and Safety & General Administration - Act as the main point of contact with our property management company. Work with the COO to escalate issues.
- Book in contractors and maintain all required documentation in conjunction with other key stake holders (property manager/agent).
- Be the escalation point for maintenance issues, liaising with the property management company to make sure that issues are dealt with in a satisfactory manner.
- Work with H&S consultants and property managers to ensure all relevant training is planned for and carried out and Risk assessments are being completed and used.
- Work with HR to ensure that all relevant training is planned for and carried out.
- Maintain records for all mandatory tests in conjunction with our property agents.
- Liaise with the Events and Venue Manager to ensure building management is always in place, keyholding, security etc.
- Ensure smooth operations of front of house – including reception and security rotas and arranging additional cover as needed for events.
Projects
- Manage ad hoc projects on behalf of the operations team; such as refurbishments, implementation of printer management.
General
- Building good working relationships across the organisation
- Representing Toynbee Hall to external audiences
- Developing an open and ‘critical friend’ dialogue within our programmatic work
- Undertaking any other appropriate responsibilities that may arise such as top up of franking machines, and general administrative orders as needed.
- Hold regular catch ups with team members, and ensure they are meeting their yearly appraisals.

Essential Criteria:
- Project management experience.
- A high level of organisational skills.
An ability to understand complex information and communicate it simply. - Comfortable following processes and supporting other people to do so.
- Independent thought and attention to detail.
- High level expertise to use the Microsoft Office suite particularly Teams, Sharepoint, Excel and Outlook.
- A strong communicator with the ability to form trusting and supportive relationships quickly, internally and externally.
- Able to work proactively, independently and within a team.
- Able to work collaboratively with the wider teams at Toynbee Hall.
- Good negotiation skills.
- Basic level understanding of H&S, GDPR and confidentiality.
- Understand basic budget management and purchasing process.
- Ability to line manage two officer level operations team
- IT related qualifications and experience such as cyber security, Microsoft 365 suite skills.
- Good understanding of charity technology needs.
