Main Purpose of Job

The Youth and Employability Senior Manager will oversee the successful delivery, development, and sustainability of the youth and employability department. Ensuring activities and programmes are impactful, high quality and accessible. You will ensure that all activity is delivered to a high operational standard and that it is aligned with the organisation’s values, and meets the needs of the young people involved.

Managing a dynamic team, the Youth and Employability Senior Manager, will have a strong background in either youth work and/or education and skills. They will champion young people in all they do, upholding a culture of reflective practice and youth voice across programme design.

The Senior Manager for Youth and Employability will build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and partners at all levels. You will ensure programmes meet their KPIs and are delivered to budget, whilst sourcing new funding for future programmes. They will track outcomes and impact through effective monitoring and evaluation and produce reports both internally and for funders.

The Selection Criteria Essential

• Degree, professional qualification or experience in a relevant field (Youth work, Education, Social Sciences).

• An awareness of current socio-economic issues and trends which may affect young people and youth employment in the areas we work in.
• Experience in managing multifaceted programmes to support young people to develop skills and/or into work.
• Experience of, or a strong understanding of, how to support young people from vulnerable (e.g. homeless, young carer, etc) or underrepresented groups (women and girls, ethnic minorities), including those facing barriers to education, employment, or training.
• Proven experience of effective stakeholder management and working in partnership with local businesses/ professional partners, schools, colleges, and universities.
• Demonstrable experience (at least 2 years) of working with young people and children to inspire, motivate and support them to develop new skills.
• Experience of leadership, managing teams and a department.
• Proven track record in planning and project management.
• Strong understanding and knowledge of youth engagement and operational standards in youth settings. Including budget management, risk assessments, session planning and safeguarding.

Churches Conservation Trust (CCT) is the national charity caring for historic churches at risk. As the operator of the third largest heritage estate in charitable ownership in the UK, our 356 historic churches include examples of irreplaceable architecture, archaeology and art from 1,000 years of English history.

Overall job purpose

This is a fundamental role within our South regional team, internally the role is known as Local Community Officer.

The future of CCT’s outstanding collection of historic churches depends on communities supporting their local CCT church with funds, events, inspiring interpretation, visitor services and preventive conservation. Join Different Strokes, a national charity led by young stroke survivors for young stroke survivors. There are 100,000 strokes in the UK every year, and 1 in 4 of these happen to someone of working age or younger. We aim to promote independent stroke recovery and help younger stroke survivors to reclaim their lives.

We are a small national charity that really cares about what we do. We are currently looking to expand our team, and to devote additional resources to support our network of local groups across the UK, which provide vital peer support for stroke survivors in a face-to-face setting.

We have around 30 autonomous local groups, which are all volunteer led.  As the Community Administrator you will work closely with our Volunteer and Groups Co-ordinator, and provide vital administrative support.  You will be responsible for such activities as data collecting, ensuring group documents and paperwork requirements are up-to-date, providing monthly updates and ordering marketing materials. 

You will help to ensure that all our group volunteers receive the support they require, and respect the autonomy that groups have to make their own decisions, while ensuring that they work within the framework of Different Strokes and that they meet compliance requirements.  The ability to communicate effectively with group volunteers and other third parties, by phone, email and through online platforms, is essential.

The role would be based in our office in Milton Keynes.  The willingness to undertake occasional visits to groups would be beneficial.

This is a permanent position for 15 hours per week.  Very occasional evening or weekend work will be required.

We're looking for an efficient, friendly Volunteer Co-ordinator to join our award-winning charity.  The team is based at our busy community centre from where it offers a range of services from community meals, art classes to gardening services and digital support.  We support older and disabled people living in Fulham, London.  Much of our work is delivered by volunteers, so this post is critical to our service delivery. You will recruit, induct, and coordinate volunteers; including leading our Good Neighbours Scheme and Befriending Scheme and supporting the recruitment for all other projects. 

About you: You will have experience of volunteering and in coordinating volunteers or staff, and have strong organisational and communication skills. You will be pro-active and diligent and able to solve problems as they arise. You will be a 'first point of contact' for people getting in touch with FGN, and so you will have a welcoming, and compassionate demeanour and be able to represent FGN at events (partnership meetings, volunteer recruitment drives, fairs, etc).  You will enjoy working with older people and those with disabilities.

The role is based at our community centre in Fulham, Rosaline Hall (70 Rosaline Rd, SW6 7QT) with WFH potentially available for 1/5 of working hours.Hours: 9am - 5pm - Monday to Friday. 35 hours per week. Four days a week will be considered. A full job description and person specification is attached. The role is for a one-year inital contract with the intention to extend it indefinitely.

£29,217 per annum

37.5 hours per week

Predominantly Mon-Fri with some evening and weekend working

5 weeks holiday pay plus Bank Holidays, Pension Scheme, Staff referral scheme (earn extra pay every time you successfully refer someone), Employee Assistance Programme, including private GP access, Free roadside parking off site, Free DBS check.

You’ll be responsible for developing and maintaining our growing community fundraising income stream by empowering and inspiring the community of Nottinghamshire to actively fundraise for Nottinghamshire Hospice.

Our focus is on giving supporters the tools and support to champion our organisation whilst having fun and making as much money as they can to support our patients.

The role will do this by focusing on;

· Increasing our presence and fundraising income from local communities.

· Growing and then maximising the income from supporters who choose to fundraise for Nottinghamshire Hospice.

· Storytelling and communicating the impact fundraising has on those we support

· Recruiting and supporting a team of volunteer community fundraisers.

· Recruiting event participants and supporting their fundraising activities and developing a Hospice events programme that focuses on return on investment.

This role requires an ambitious, self-motivated, and target-driven fundraiser who will form part of our vibrant and passionate fundraising team.
