Account Management:
• Strengthen Relationships: Enhance our relationships and commitment with both existing and new partners.
• High-Quality Account Management: Provide top-tier account management to support continued commitment and growth, managing 10-14 current partners.
• Corporate Engagement Activities: Organise and execute corporate engagement activities, particularly prison-based, and collaborate with service colleagues to develop initiatives that meet the needs of those affected by imprisonment.
• Inspiring Reports and Updates: Produce compelling written reports and updates as part of partnership plans.
• By taking on this role, you will play a crucial part in driving the growth and sustainability of our corporate partnerships, ultimately contributing to the impactful work we do.

New Horizon Youth Centre has been commissioned by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) as part of an Alliance with Safer London, St Giles Trust and the Anna Freud Centre to deliver on their Children and Young People’s Violence and Exploitation and Reduction support service. The commission will run from June 2024 for three years. As part of this, an additional service will be set up within the NHYC Youth Justice team specifically to deliver on the Alliance contract. As our Conflict Resolution Caseworker, you will prepare, plan, and deliver Conflict Resolution sessions to individuals in prison, ensuring all sessions are appropriate and contextualised to reflect the local needs of the prison and its changing population, plus deliver additional tailored sessions as necessary to individuals who are unable to attend the group sessions or who require additional support. About this key role
Our successful candidate will complete initial needs assessments with young women and support them to develop individual action plans and regularly review them to assess progress, plus undertake risk assessments and regular holistic needs assessments of each individual. You will develop safety and care plans with each client and their families, ensuring that they are equipped to understand the factors which can make them vulnerable, put them at risk and know where to access support if they need to, while also delivering ongoing dynamic risk and contextual safeguarding assessments.
We will count on you to provide important advocacy and support to young people with regards to welfare and financial advice, housing options and/or how to sustain tenancies, rent arrears, access to suitable and affordable housing, and how to access education, employment, and training (ETE) opportunities, as well as facilitating access into positive activities to divert young people away from criminality, offending and harm. Developing and maintaining relationships with referral and regional agencies, being responsible for two volunteers and participating and attending team and strategy meetings and child protection conferences, are also key aspects of the role.
What we are looking for
• To have worked on an offender-led support project, had personal experience of the criminal justice system, served a prison sentence, or still be serving a prison sentence in a prison within reach of London
• Experience in negotiation with partner agencies to establish links to further aims of the project
• Experience in working in local community-based projects
• To have a relevant qualification to a good standard, or be working towards one
• An understanding of the Government’s Prevent (anti extremism) programme
• Knowledge of services for offenders and patterns of offending in London borough/s

You will provide an immediate safeguarding response, supporting children and young people back to London when they are arrested outside of area, utilising the reachable moment to provide meaningful intervention to young people at risk of exploitation, plus provide follow up support once the young person has returned to their home region, which will include one-to-one and telephone contact.
We will also rely on you to produce support and risk management plans based on assessments, and to develop and maintain relationships with both referral agencies, including police, YOTs, Integrated Offender Management, Prison/Young Offender institutions, and local authorities, ensuring a steady flow of appropriate referrals onto the project. Delivering a holistic support service which includes social and housing support, education, training and employment options, benefits work, and debt advice, is also a key element of the role.
It is vital that you are able to commit to evening and some weekend working, in line with our out of hour rota.

- Personal experience of the criminal justice system, lived experience of the issues facing this client group and/or experience of working with ‘high risk’, vulnerable children, young people and/or families
- Experience in working as part of a multi-agency team and of using support plans
