As a Maintenance Officer, you will support the Facilities Manager in the delivery of planned, reactive maintenance and cleaning tasks. You will play a key role in carrying out a range of general health & safety room checks, cleaning, building maintenance and caretaking tasks, including carrying out fire alarm and emergency lighting tests, checking plant rooms and boilers, performing minor repairs and fabric cleaning. You will also ensure equipment is well maintained, adequately stored, and meets all safety requirements. You will provide excellent customer service to residents, ensuring they are made aware of work order progress in a timely manner and follow up on any health & safety, maintenance or cleaning issues.
The successful candidate will have a background in property maintenance/facilities. They will have experience of carrying out risk assessments, assisting with building cleaning and maintenance, performing repairs and caretaking duties. They will also be a proactive, self-motived and reliable individual with a good understanding of health and safety requirements within a building environment.

The Role
This role will ensure the organisation is following robust financial systems and processes, carry out all day-to-day accounting tasks, and ensure timely production of financial information to inform management decisions. Most tasks can be done from home, however some tasks such as banking and petty cash reconciliation will require you to attend our offices. The Role

Our client Peter Bedford Housing Association (PBHA) is a housing association with charitable aims that create positive change in people’s lives. The role:
The Housing Coordinator (Supported Housing) leads PBHA’s Housing Team to provide a quality housing management service to tenants with additional tenancy sustainment needs. They will provide day to day supervision to other members of the Housing Team. The post holder will work from local offices, with access to PBHA’s main office in Haggerston where appropriate, however some of the work will be in tenants’ homes in the community. The post holder will be issued the IT equipment necessary to facilitate mobile working.
Aims of the post
The Housing team provide work with vulnerable tenants, helping them to sustain their tenancy and participate in their community. The Housing Coordinator (Supported Housing) carries a small caseload, whilst managing a team of Housing Officers.
Specific Responsibilities
Staff Resources
• Supervising staff and volunteers in line with PBHA policies and procedures.
• Completing annual appraisals, sickness absence reviews and performance management.
• Representing PBHA at internal and external meetings as agreed with the Housing Services Manager.
• Ensuring quality service delivery via staff supervision and auditing.
Tenancy Sustainment
• To be responsible for working with a small caseload of tenants within a locality.

Access Information
The post is based at our Hubs. The Kingsland Hub site has one level and is accessible to wheelchair users. Clissold and Isledon Hubs have step-only access. The role involves travel within Hackney and Islington and working in tenants’ homes.
Main Conditions of Service
This is a full-time position. The post is for 37.5 hours per week, 5 days per week, Monday – Friday, 7.5 hours per day. Duties will occasionally be carried out over evenings and some public holidays.
Overtime is not paid but in line with Agile working, hours can be averaged out over a 2-week period.
Annual leave entitlement is 26 days per year plus normal bank holidays pro rata (inclusive of bank holidays). This will rise after each completed year of service to a maximum of 30 days.
Salaries are revised each year. The starting salary for this post is £35,692 (SCP 18 – 22). We will usually appoint at the start of the scale.
The post holder will be auto enrolled to be a member of the organisation's contributory pension scheme if eligible.
In common with all posts at PBHA, confirmation of appointment is subject to a probationary period (6 months).

The Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham is an Anglican centre of Pilgrimage in North Norfolk which traces its roots back to the vision of the Lady Richeldis in 1061. The original Shrine was destroyed at the Reformation and the current Shrine was restored in the 1920’s and 1930’s as a result of the ministry of Fr Alfred Hope Patten.

General
The Shrine employs around 75 members of staff and every year it welcomes a steady stream of volunteers who offer help in return for board and lodging.
There are 137 bedrooms on site and around 10,500 pilgrims come each year for a residential pilgrimage typically lasting two to three nights. Meals are provided in the Pilgrim Refectory which can seat around 200 residents and produces up to 85,000 meals a year. In addition, the Shrine welcomes a good number of day pilgrims per year.
As well as the pilgrimage programme, which is run at weekends and midweek, each year the Shrine runs a series of special events and retreats. There is an important outreach to young pilgrims which is headed up by the Director of Education. This includes educational visits from schools and a range of events for different ages, the most ambitious of which is the annual Youth Pilgrimage.
Within the beautiful gardens there is a Cafe Bar which is open to pilgrims, tourists and visitors. The Shrine Shop is situated in the heart of the village and offers a wide selection of religious items and gifts.

The role:
Housing Officers work within PBHA’s Housing Team to provide a quality housing management service to tenants with additional tenancy sustainment needs. Post holders will work from PBHA’s main office in Haggerston, with access to local offices where appropriate. However, most of the work will be in tenants’ homes in the community. The post holder will be issued the IT equipment necessary to facilitate mobile working.
Aims of the post
Housing Officers work with vulnerable tenants to enable them to sustain their tenancy and participate in their community.
Specific Responsibilities
• To be responsible for working a caseload of tenants within a locality.
• Identifying individual tenancy needs through assessment and an identified Housing Plan detailing risks, needs and move on plans.
• Regular contact with tenants as per plan.
• Provide a weekly housing management drop in at PBHA’s hubs.
• Ensure that tenants apply for benefits where eligible, and signpost tenants to information on how to maximise income
• Record and monitor any breaches of tenancy agreement and work proactively and within procedures to resolve them.
• Liaise with housing officers, the finance and adult learning departments to provide effective prevention and management of rent issues, escalating where necessary in accordance with arrears policy and standard operating procedures.
• Liaise with colleagues to ensure void targets are met and properties are let within agreed timescale.
• Assist in the moving in/out process.
• Ensure tenants understand their rights and responsibilities in their occupancy agreements.
• Deal with complaints, nuisance and tenancy disputes as they arise. Work with tenants to promote self-help and mediation approaches to dispute resolution and address and escalate in line with procedure.
• Inspect and order furniture, assisting tenants where they are able to do so.
• Recharge former tenants where applicable.
• Carry out regular building inspections, helping tenants to report repairs.
• Take pride in PBHA’s property and assets and encourage tenants to do so.
• Enforce the conditions of tenancy that enable PBHA to undertake urgent works such as gas servicing.
• Carry out H&S and fire checks and assessment, liaising closely with others to ensure that follow up actions are completed.
• Report safeguarding concerns as appropriate.
Customer Focused Services
• Promote and support tenants/participants to access PBHA’s participation and co-production opportunities.
• Adhere to lone-working procedures.
• To positively promote and signpost tenants and participants to report complaints in line with PBHA’s practice.
• To have a collaborative and co-operative approach towards resolving complaints, working with colleagues across teams and departments.
• To take collective responsibility for any shortfalls identified through complaints.
• To act within the Professional Standards for engaging with complaints as set by the Chartered Institute of Housing.
Team Responsibilities
• Providing a reception service at the office.
• Involvement in the selection and induction of new workers and volunteers.
• Taking part in planning the team’s work and the annual plan.
• Ensuring that proper records are kept and information is passed to other team members as necessary.
• To ensure that PBHA’s computerised and manual systems are accurately updated specifically in relation to contact with tenants and service users.
• To meet required standards and contract compliance o commissioning bodies where PBHA delivers a service.
General Responsibilities

Access Information
The post is based at our Hubs. The Kingsland Hub site has one level and is accessible to wheelchair users. Clissold and Isledon Hubs have step-only access. The role involves travel within Hackney and Islington and working in tenants’ homes.
Accountability
The post holder is accountable to the Housing Coordinator (Supported Housing).
Main Conditions of Service
This is a part-time position. The post is for 18.75 hours per week. Duties will occasionally be carried out over evenings and some public holidays. Overtime is not paid but in line with Agile working, hours can be averaged out over a 2-week period. PBHA implements Agile working practices which are to be negotiated with the line manager.
Annual leave entitlement is 26 days per year (pro rata) plus normal bank holidays pro rata (inclusive of bank holidays). This will rise after each completed year of service to a maximum of 30 days (pro rata).
Salaries are revised each year. The starting salary for this post will be £30,285 pro rata (SCP 8-12).
The post holder will be auto enrolled to be a member of the organisation's contributory pension scheme if eligible.
In common with all posts at PBHA, confirmation of appointment is subject to a probationary period (6 months).

- Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop staff. You will be responsible for a team of x 3.

The Assistant Schools Officer (Organisation and Estates) is a crucial role at the Diocese, as you will act as the first point of contact from church schools, site trustees, our consultants and other professional advisers regarding school estates and buildings, site ownership and educational endowments.
Reporting to the Schools Officer and working within the Children, Young People and Education department, you will support the Board’s statutory responsibilities in promoting education across the Diocese; particularly in advising school leaders and governors in relation to school organisation and the use or development of land and buildings.
As Assistant Schools Officer, you will provide support by monitoring projects relating to school estates (building developments, maintenance and repairs) and make proactive enquiries and interventions to sustain progress against recorded timescales.
You will also take responsibility for managing the schools’ Devolved Formula Capital (DFC) grant held by the Diocese; guiding schools in interpreting definitions regarding suitable DFC projects, liaising with schools regarding available funding and helping schools to prioritise projects/the application of funds effectively for estate management.
A crucial part of our strategy is to assess the environmental impact of the Diocese’s church schools, planning for and supporting schools to advance decarbonisation and energy efficiency projects. As Assistant Schools Officer you will regularly update and signpost church schools to banks of practical materials and resources for decarbonisation campaigns, toolkits and projects, building case studies of best practice.
With relevant professional experience in an education, administrative, property or project support context, you should be capable of supporting projects and have the ability to apply understanding to tasks. Able to summarise complex information clearly, you should be able to explain the progress of projects to those with no specialist understanding.
Forward thinking, adaptable and responsive to a varied work programme, you should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have evidence of recent study, training or development and a willingness to learn new knowledge and technical skills.
It is essential for you to be supportive of the vision of the CYPE team and to be sympathetic to the contribution of Church of England schools to Christian mission.
An understanding and awareness of Church of England structures and knowledge of the current educational landscape within the context of church schools, along with experience of budget management or monitoring financial reports would be desirable.
The ability to travel and a willingness to attend occasional evening and weekend meetings and events is essential.
