Blue Ventures is a marine conservation organization that puts people first. We support coastal fishers in remote and rural communities to rebuild fisheries, restore ocean life and build lasting pathways to prosperity. Summary job description

Blue Ventures is seeking a Social Media Manager to coordinate our social media communications' strategy, delivery, and measurement. You’ll be responsible for managing all social media channels and creating and producing engaging content to be used across them and beyond. Whether it’s shaping and amplifying stories from communities and partners, sharing our learning far and wide, or crafting content to advocate for ocean protection and the rights of small-scale fishers, you’ll be proactive in finding creative ways to connect with and inspire a range of audiences internationally.

This will be a one-year fixed-term role (with the possibility of extension) based in any of BV's registered locations. You'll report to the Head of Communications and work closely with our Advocacy, Donor Stewardship, and Partnerships teams, as well as national and regional leads.

For countries in which Blue Ventures has an office, our hybrid working policy currently requires attendance in the office for at least 40% of the working week.

As our Finance Manager you will be at the heart of the charity’s operations and play a vital role in helping us embark on a new 3-year strategy. Working closely with the Director of Operations and CEO your role and expertise will be pivotal in driving excellence and integrity in financial management and strategic financial decisions. 

Your responsibilities will span the entire financial lifecycle, from budgeting and forecasting to meticulous reporting and process optimisation, you will also lead on management reporting, cashflow planning and the delivery of WellChild’s audit, Annual Report & Accounts.

You will have a detailed knowledge of accounting principles (ideally from within the charity sector), strong analytical skills; be able to demonstrate both operational and strategic thinking and have a proficiency in accounting alongside a relevant finance qualification; (ACA, ACCA, ACMA).

You will also need to have advanced excel skills, experience of charity accounts, SORP and charity VAT and be able to plan, prioritise and organise your work with impeccable attention to detail.

About the Role

Role purpose

The purpose of this role is to lead, develop and deliver WorldSkills UK’s external Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (ED&I) programmes supported by stakeholder engagement strategies across our network of industry, education and government. The role will ensure that we engage external stakeholders to help deliver our ambition to be a leader, partner and ally in creating positive change for ED&I in the skills sector.

Key tasks and responsibilities

1. Deliver positive action activity for change:

• Support the development and delivery of WorldSkills UK’s external ED&I strategy. Ensure it is fit for purpose, has recognised long term goals and will deliver measurable change, reflecting organisational priorities around increased engagement with ethnic minority groups and females. Provide an overarching framework and help further develop strategic KPIs for our ED&I work, ensuring effective use of data, monitoring progress and performance.
• Work with the Senior Strategic Partnerships Manager to develop action plans that will drive our continuous improvement:
  • Support our skills competition development programmes to increase the diversity of young people engaged
  • Support the development of role models to showcase the impact of our work and encourage diversity in key areas of industry, including future priority skill areas
  • Support the development of learning resources that aid engagement with underrepresented groups
  • Support teams to ensure ED&I matters are considered and addressed as key components of all strategies, plans and programmes.

2. Manage the ED&I Advisory Group:

• This is a unique opportunity to work with experienced and prominent senior individuals from across education and industry who are invested in driving the agenda for ED&I.
• Lead the administration and ongoing development of our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Advisory Group.
• Engage the Group to help support, advise and challenge WorldSkills UK on its actions to remove obstacles and barriers faced by young people from under-represented backgrounds in our programmes.
• Report regularly to the Group on progress against KPI’s and facilitate reports for the WorldSkills UK Board.

3. Project Manage the ED&I Heroes Awards

• The Awards is an established flagship event which provides a platform for WorldSkills UK to celebrate success with its partners, amplify best practice and inspire others to drive change across the skills systems in education and business.
• Project manage delivery of the annual Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Heroes Awards, supported by relevant internal teams
  • Establish the nominations process
  • Co-ordinate the judging panel
  • Organise the awards ceremony
  • Manage the support of the awards partners.

4. Manage strategic relationships

• Manage a portfolio of ED&I focused Strategic Partnerships with organisations from across the skills sector, facilitating their support and engagement with our EDI programmes.
• Grow our network of partners to widen our reach, help further drive work in this area and collectively impact on the sector.
• Advise and support the development of the CEO’s international activities on ED&I with WorldSkills International (WSI).

5. Raise the profile of WorldSkills UK’s ED&I work:

• Work with teams across the organisation to support our Mission to ignite a national and global movement to help more young people, regardless of their background, get the best possible start in work and life.
• Support the Senior Strategic Partnerships Manager and Marketing and Communications Team to showcase the impact of our programmes:
  • Help to externally profile and articulate the value and impact of our activities using the channels and tools available
  • Seek opportunities to advocate for our work through stakeholder engagement and networking
  • Support the Corporate Partnerships team to identify and secure commercial income related to our ED&I initiatives.
  • Work across the organisation to build on existing external relationships and develop new strategic partnerships that reinforce our position as a skills sector leader.

6. Internal ED&I Liaison:

• Whilst not responsible for WorldSkills UK’s internal ED&I activities and agenda it is anticipated that the post holder will spend up to 10% of their time supporting and working with the Corporate Affairs team on internal ED&I matters, with the remaining 90% spent on external work.
• It is not essential that the postholder has extensive experience in this area.

7. General

• Produce requirement specifications in line with WorldSkills UK’s procurement strategies for all outsourced activity.

This role is office based (as above) but with flexible hybrid working. It is expected the postholder will attend the office at least once or twice a week.

Position Overview:

Be Free Campaign seeks a dedicated and experienced Operations Manager to play a crucial role in managing and expanding our outreach programmes specifically focused on young people's mental health. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of these programmes, including delivery, volunteer recruitment, administrative tasks, contributing to fundraising efforts, and providing leadership and management.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management:

• Provide operational leadership, manage performance, maintain service quality, monitor operations, and develop staff.

• Represent the Be Free Campaign at a senior level with external partners.

• Support and assist in the delivery of the strategic direction for the organisation.

• Help ensure the sustainability and viability of current and future operations.

• Work as part of the Senior Leadership Team to develop, grow, and sustain the Be Free Campaign.

Programme Management:

• Support the development and implementation of our young people's mental health programmes.

• Assist with research and evaluation of existing programmes, identifying opportunities for expansion and improvement.

• Contribute to the development of new and innovative initiatives specifically targeting young people's mental health needs.

• Ensure high-quality and impactful delivery of the Be Free Campaign's young people's mental health programme.

• Achieve set targets for programme delivery.

Volunteer Management:

• Develop and implement volunteer recruitment strategies focused on attracting individuals passionate about young people's mental health.

• Facilitate volunteer training and onboarding specific to our young people's programmes.

• Coordinate volunteer activities and ensure their effective integration into our programmes.

Communications and Marketing:

• Develop engaging content for various channels (social media, website, newsletters) specifically targeting young people and raising awareness about mental health.

• Assist with the creation of marketing materials and campaigns focused on young people's mental health.

• Support public awareness initiatives related to young people's mental health.

Fundraising:

• Assist with the development and implementation of fundraising strategies to secure financial resources for the young people's mental health programmes.

• Identify and cultivate relationships with potential donors and grant-making bodies.

• Prepare grant proposals and reports.

• Assist with fundraising events and initiatives.

Impact Reporting:

• Compile and analyse data to create detailed impact reports for each young people's mental health programme delivered.

• Ensure accurate documentation and collection of evaluations and feedback from young participants.

Administrative Tasks:

• Undertake administrative duties necessary for the smooth operation of the young people's mental health programmes.

• Maintain accurate records, including programme schedules, volunteer details, and partnership information.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., psychology, social work, youth work) or equivalent work experience.

• Previous experience in programme management, preferably in a youth mental health or charity setting.

• Strong organisational and administrative skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Demonstrated experience in volunteer management.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

• Passion for young people's mental health and a commitment to making a positive impact.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our senior management team as an Operations Manager. This role offers 3 days employment per week. The Operations Manager is an internally focused role that ensures the advertised service is delivered. You will be part of the senior management team ensuring the smooth and efficient running of a high quality advice service, including overall management of the advice session supervisors and volunteer team.

The purpose of the Senior Direct Marketing Officer’s role is to deliver and evolve the acquisition and retention strategy, inspiring the people of London to become long-term supporters of the Charity.

Working closely with the Senior Direct Marketing Manager, you will manage campaign activity, from briefing through to execution, as well as identifying opportunities for improvement within the programme, particularly with regards to retention and delivery of the supporter journey.
