Senior Community Fundraising Manager Jobs

The Regional Fundraisers role is to mobilise and maximise local fundraising activities in order to raise income to support the work of the charity.  Working to the Director of Fundraising and with other senior fundraising staff, develop and implement a comprehensive regional fundraising strategy to maximize income generation and donor engagement within the region.  You will be required to be proactive within your area to identify opportunities for fundraising and raise awareness of the Charity as well as identify, cultivate, and grow relationships with community groups, schools, individuals, and corporate donors within the region, focusing on donor retention and growth.  You will also organise and coordinate fundraising events, campaigns, and initiatives within your region, including virtual and in-person events when applicable.

This is a home-based role covering a designated geographical area which you are required to live within, or be willing and able to relocate to.  There will be extensive travel across the region with the potential to be based in a local visitor centre at least 2 days per week.

Scotland –  within 50-mile radius of Aboyne in Aberdeenshire

South East – within a 50 mile radius of Snetterton, Norfolk

North East – within a 50 mile radius of Blackpool, Lancashire

We are looking for someone with experience in fundraising with a track record of successful donor cultivation and relationship management.  You will have a good knowledge of the local community in your region and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office to support your work.. You will be a natural project manager with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.  You will need strong networking and interpersonal skills. You will work in a flexible and collaborative manner and be willing to travel within your designated area and across the UK as required.

QAC is a charity that runs a college, supported living (known as Independence Plus) and community services for young adults with learning difficulties and disabilities.

The College has been at its current location since 1903. Our original purpose was to provide education for young people who were blind or visually impaired. Today, in addition to supporting people who have a visual impairment, we offer education, support and guidance for students on the autism spectrum, those with moderate to severe learning difficulties, and students with physical and other disabilities.  We have a large, skilled and diverse staff team who can meet a diverse range of student needs.  As QAC has grown, we now have new educational and learning sites.  As well as the more well-known campus in Harborne, there is the QAC Pinewood campus (dedicated to employment progression) in nearby Woodgate valley and in addition, QAC Umberslade campus (dedicated to horticulture and outdoor learning), in nearby Selly Oak.  QAC offers a broad range of study programmes that are tailored to ensure each student receives the educational, therapeutic and support services that they require, helping them achieve their aspirations for adult life. 

Our supported living programmes (Independent Plus) and Community Services offers support after leaving college and to those from within the local community. The marketing and communications team is responsible for marketing QAC services with the main focus being on student recruitment. Following a recent re-brand, the post holder will also be integral in ensuring an efficient and effective roll out of the new branding.

QAC also has an enterprise arm consisting of Sight Village (a touring exhibition supporting those with sight loss), All Formats (a transcription service) and Carbon Fibre Canes.  These are all supported by the Marketing and Communications Team.

We are recruiting for a Fundraising Compliance Manager looking to make a difference in how we fundraise and support our fundraising charities: Guy’s & St Thomas’ Charity, Evelina London Children’s Charity and Guy’s Cancer Charity.

The successful candidate will need to be a detail orientated, solution focused, project manager with expert knowledge in fundraising and data protection regulations. We are looking for someone to lead and maintain a culture of compliance across all elements of fundraising and supporter engagement in this stand alone role.

As our Fundraising Compliance Manager, you will be the focal point for compliance, providing guidance and advice to colleagues ensuring that we have sufficient controls and processes in place across all areas of fundraising. In addition, you will provide comprehensive front line and administrative support, to facilitate best practice across Fundraising/Charity regulation and the General Data Protection Regulation and help embed this in our ways of working. You will produce and deliver training and supporting documents to upskill staff and to ensure consistency across the team, as well as identifying areas for improvement and development. You will keep your knowledge up-to-date and will be confident in communicating with staff at all levels and with varying levels of understanding; in an engaging and accessible manner.

Excellent organisation and project management skills will be required to ensure that projects and the day-to-day delivery and reporting of compliance is on track.

Key Responsibilities

Overarching responsibilities

• To oversee and be the main port of call for all compliance, data protection and gift administration queries in respect of fundraising.
• To develop and maintain robust operational frameworks, processes, systems and governance structures for compliance and gift administration that instil confidence and assurance in our fundraising operations and our ability to fulfil our contractual obligations as data processors and controllers.
• To provide guidance to fundraising colleagues and other stakeholders on compliance and data protection queries.
• To develop and maintain a culture of compliance across the Foundation through developing and delivering training and producing guidelines and departmental policies.
• To conduct periodic reviews or audits (to include external suppliers) to ensure that compliance procedures are followed and fit for purpose.

Gift Administration and Implementation

• Support our fundraising colleagues to maximise their income and engage with supporters in a compliant way
• Triage and respond to gift administration and compliance queries and requests within defined service level times
• Produce and keep updated, relevant guidance, tools and resources for colleagues across the fundraising function
• Develop new strategies to provide the best support for our fundraisers and work to build new and lasting relationships with key stakeholders
• Advise senior stakeholders on the benefits and risks of our activities and advise on the best course of action
• Working with the legal team, develop and maintain the appropriate gift agreements and similar documents, supporter communications and online pages, and support fundraising colleagues and supporters to complete the appropriate paperwork ·
• Manage the Fundraising Support email address/enquiry channels
• Ensure policies around philanthropy and gift management are up to date and disseminated appropriately across the Foundation.

Fundraising compliance and data protection

• To evaluate and apply the Data Protection principles to variable and challenging scenarios, supporting colleagues to find solutions to their problems within the limits of the law.
• Ensuring we are aware of and reacting to any fundraising and data protection regulations changes. Regulations include GDPR/UK Data Protection Act 2021, Fundraising Regulator's Code of Fundraising Practice, Charity Commission guidelines, BACS, and PCI DSS Compliance. HMRC Gift aid guidelines.
• Recognise that a change in procedure or legislation external to the Foundation has implications and who needs to be notified of the changes.
• Produce and continually monitor our operational policies; modelling best practices against the Fundraising Regulator's Code of Fundraising Practice
• Responsible for reviewing all fundraising contracts and third-party agreements for data capture to ensure they are in line with all compliance regulations, ensuring our supporter data is adequately protected, any new fundraising processes and procedures are compliant, and fulfilling the operational commitments associated. Suggest and negotiate amendments, and if the necessary compliance clauses cannot be met then decline authorisation to work with that third party.
• Assess data risks and complete Data Protection Impact Assessments where required, being prepared to work with colleagues to pull together the relevant information and present to the data protection lead for sign off. ·

Leadership

• Where necessary, be prepared to make pragmatic decisions on where we should be focusing resources.
• To develop a programme of training and guidelines to cover complicated rules and processes in a concise and accessible manner. To identify and address where the knowledge gaps exist.

About the role 

Smart Works Reading exists to empower all women who need help getting into work. We aim to support 1000 clients with our Interview and Preparation service per year. As such, we require vital funding from Grants, Trusts, Corporates and Foundations to enable us to achieve our mission. We also need support to deliver our annual calendar of corporate events.

We are seeking a Fundraising and Partnerships Manager to join our small and ambitious team. The successful candidate will build a strong pipeline of grant funders, gifts from Trusts & Foundations, and corporate donations, incorporating both core and restricted funding.

The successful candidate will report directly into our Board of Trustees, and work alongside our small staff team, with the objective of maximizing local funding opportunities, expanding our portfolio of grant funders and corporate donations, and attendant relationships, and contributing to a growth in income for the charity. The successful candidate will be responsible for researching and identifying prospective funders and corporate partners, writing and submitting high-quality applications and proposals, and delivering excellent grant management, donation and stewardship updates. They will also work closely with the Events Trustees to deliver an exciting calendar of corporate and community fundraising events, and lead our annual sport challenge, Cycle for Smart Works.

We are seeking a proactive self-starter, with experience in philanthropic fundraising and relationship management, excellent written communication skills and demonstrable attention to detail. We would also love to hear if you have experience working with grant applications and/or funding proposals and using a range of tools to identify new funding opportunities.

Smart Works Reading is a collaborative environment, with dynamic teams and ambitious plans across the UK. It is a rewarding national community with regular liaison with the London Charity Partnerships and Fundraising Team.

This is a hybrid role, working from the Reading centre at least three days per week. Some evening and weekend work will also be required to support philanthropic fundraising and wider fundraising events such as Fashion Sales.

Duties and responsibilities

• Building excellent relationships and networking with corporate and community partners, generating awareness and income of minimum £165k for the centre across grants, events and corporate fundraising.
• Maintain database with relevant income tracking and pipeline data to facilitate regular KPI and financial reporting to the Board of Trustees. 
• Lead our annual signature corporate challenge - Cycle for Smart Works - to target income c. £25k, including managing the project locally from planning to delivery, identifying and onboarding corporate and community participant teams and stewardship of the programme.
• Securing one-year and multi-year grants from a range of Trusts and Foundations, including traditional grant funders, local charities, family foundations and corporate foundations to meet income targets c. 100k. 
• Researching and identifying prospective grant funders, and corporates, donors and individuals who could support Smart Works Reading, and building and maintaining long-term relationships.
• Writing high-quality grant applications, working collaboratively with the Chair of the Board and staff team to deliver creative and compelling proposals for both core and restricted funding.
• Maintaining strong relationships with current and prospective funders, including the preparation of impact reports and sharing regular updates on grant management.
• Maintaining an accurate data record of pledged, banked and prospective income for the Reading centre, working in collaboration with Smart Works Charity to maintain local management accounts. 
• Representing Smart Works Reading to a diverse range of stakeholders and audiences to generate income and raise brand awareness within the local community.
• Support the Events Trustee with stewardship of fashion and retail partners, including venue and catering supporters, as well as our corporate partners supporting the charity.
• Support the delivery of our signature fundraising events, including high-end supporter events and fashion sales, where the Events Trustee manages the project from concept to execution and ensures income targets are met.
• Developing and implementing new initiatives to raise funds for the charity, for example, Fashion Club, following other centre’s initiatives. 

 

Personal specification 

Essential Criteria 

• Experience generating income of at least five figures from philanthropic income. Demonstrable experience securing corporate partnerships.
• Experience in cultivating strong and positive relationships, both internally and externally, with multiple and senior stakeholders.
• Presentation skills, to prospective partners and able to tell the Smart Works story. 
• Experience working with grant applications and/or funding proposals, presentations, and utilising arrange of tools to identify new funding opportunities.
• Excellent written communication skills and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to prepare high-quality funding proposals and reports for different audiences.
• Target driven with excellent organisation and time management capabilities, demonstrating an ability to prioritise and work to deadlines.
• Creative and proactive approach to problem-solving, with an entrepreneurial attitude towards fundraising strategy.
• Passionate and enthusiastic about the mission and vision of Smart Works, demonstrated through clear initial research and understanding in the written application.
• A friendly and approachable attitude, can work independently and as part of a team

Osmani Trust is an award-winning youth and community charity providing a range of youth, violence reduction, employment, mentoring, and health & sports services to diverse communities in Tower Hamlets and surrounding Boroughs.

We are recruiting a Programme Manager to lead our grassroots consortium Better Bethnal Green (BBG), supporting young people facing multiple/complex disadvantages in the borough. Our partners and we are specialists in transforming the life trajectories of young people who have become marginalised by local poverty, unemployment and crime – particularly those from BAME communities who are disproportionately affected by these issues.

We need an experienced fundraiser who can research and apply for funding for our projects from a wide range of sources including: grants, s106 developer contributions, sponsorship and corporate volunteering. All our teams play a vital role in supporting Battersea’s mission. Whether that’s on the front line, providing direct care to our animals, or behind the scenes in our office roles. Our IT department is responsible for providing IT business support and services that align with our organisational needs.

We now have a permanent opportunity for a Senior Cloud Administrator to provide 3rd level project and helpdesk support, acting as an escalation point for the support team. This opportunity is integral to providing consistent IT support across all three of our centres.

In this role you will ensure our internal physical and virtual server and network is maintained for 7 day a week operation. Your focus will be on infrastructure, and you will work across all six of our business applications. This offers you diversity in your work and the opportunity to work on technically complex challenges.

Joining a team of 10, you will be collectively supporting a user basis of around 700. The support requests will invite you to use your entire skill set and provide opportunities for continued development.
