As a Conservation Projects Manager and a key member of the national Conservation team, you will work with experienced consultants and skilled craftspeople, with national and regional colleagues, volunteers, local partners and stakeholders to develop and manage a range of holistic, conservation and new use projects, from inception to completion, and providing professional advice and support to community led projects.  You will lead on all capital, conservation and maintenance, programmes in the region.

You will have expertise and specialist knowledge in the field of historic building repair and conservation, and a proven track record of project management (client side) in the heritage sector. You might be a Building Surveyor, a Conservation Architect, an Estate Manager, or a Project Manager, in this continually varied and unique role you will be working on some of the most significant historic buildings in the country. About the role

This is a great opportunity to work within the Stories team at Shelter, recruiting people from within relevant services and outside the organisation to share their experiences to support Shelter’s fundraising, media, services, campaigning, research and brand work. As well as making contact with people willing to share their stories, you’ll be able to listen to someone’s experience and write a summary of their story. The traineeship lasts 15 months and you will receive personalised training and support to help remove some of the barriers that may have prevented you from getting meaningful employment. Once your traineeship is complete, we will support you in securing further employment in the future.

About you

We are looking for people who have lived experience of homelessness/bad housing and overcoming personal challenges and who are passionate about using their own life experiences to help make positive change for others. Good communication skills and the ability to make people feel heard will also be essential. Basic computer skills, e.g. word processing, the internet and email would be useful, but support can be provided. Above all, we need people with a real desire to develop personally and learn new skills.

Working Arrangements and Travel Requirements

Rainforest Trust UK staff work remotely and you will be expected to work primarily from home with an excellent internet connection. You may be based anywhere in the UK but you will be expected to work from a shared team space in London once a month, and your donor meetings/events are most likely to take place there.

The postholder will be required to host networking events and attend some online meetings with our partners in the U.S so some (early) evening working is required. We are also flexible as to how many hours this postholder works, and will consider a 3-5 day per week arrangement, depending on experience.

Home based within Northern Ireland, with travel to UK team away days, staff conferences and 1-2-1

Through management of the policy and public affairs function in Northern Ireland, the Policy & Public Affairs Manager will ensure the Trussell Trust strengthens its influence in Northern Ireland and helps bring about the policy changes required to end the need for food banks. 

Using specialist policy knowledge about the structural causes of poverty and hunger in Northern Ireland and the UK, and sound political and procedural knowledge, the Policy & Public Affairs Manager will ensure our policy influencing has a robust evidence base and manage advocacy strategies to achieve policy change at different levels of government, with a particular focus on national government in NI (Stormont) and ensuring close alignment with the Trussell Trust’s work to influence the UK Government (Westminster). 

Role responsibilities 

• Strategy: Support the Northern Ireland Network Lead in the development and delivery of the Changing Policy strand of the Trussell Trust’s organisational strategy, with a specific focus on the role of key stakeholders in NI in ending the need for food banks, and supporting the alignment of policy advocacy across the UK nations and regions. 

• Policy advocacy plans: Establish and maintain momentum in policy advocacy plans for the Trussell Trust in NI, and inform wider influencing across audiences, through strong internal networks.

Trusts and Philanthropy Officer

We’re looking for a motivated fundraiser to manage and grow a portfolio of small- and medium-sized trusts and foundations, whilst also supporting the Philanthropy Team in the development of the Major Donor programme.

The Role

Sitting within the High Value Engagement Team – comprising Trusts and Statutory, Philanthropy, Bids and Tenders, and Corporate Partnerships – the Trusts and Philanthropy Officer will build relationships with loyal and prospective donors, raising vital funds to power the Association’s work to support more people affected by stroke.

You will report into the Trusts and Grants Manager, with key responsibilities including:

· Raising income in line with agreed personal and team fundraising targets.

· Managing a portfolio of low- and mid-value trusts and foundations: working with internal colleagues to develop and prepare bespoke funding applications and reports.

· Managing the Small Trust Mailing programme (raising c.£80k/year).

· Prospect research: identifying and researching promising new donor prospects.

· Supporting the Philanthropy Team with prospecting, cultivation and stewardship of Major Donors, as needed.

About You

You will have:

· Knowledge of trust/philanthropy fundraising for a charitable organisation or equivalent.

· Experience of building and developing effective relationships in a professional setting.

· Excellent standard of written English

· Drive, enthusiasm and proven ability to deliver or exceed targets.

To fulfil the role you must be resident in the UK and have the right to work in the UK.

You’ll be leading and broadening our commercial offer, helping us drive even greater impact in water efficiency, and the income to support it, across the UK. You’ll refine our proposition and pricing of existing services, seeking opportunities to cross-sell additional services to existing audiences, as well as broadening our reach, engaging with completely new audiences and developing and shaping new commercial services aligned to new customer needs. You will have strong experience at senior level in driving commercial impact for good, and everything this involves in terms of income, growth, commercial strategy and delivery, and risk management. You’ll be working closely with our Board, and reporting to the CEO and the Board on finance and risk.
