Purpose of the role 

We are looking for enthusiastic consultant ready to work in a fast-paced organisation who can easily grasp and communicate impact to the different audiences across our work for fair finance. The consultant will be an exceptional writer across different platforms and a strategic thinker, with a solid understanding of our audiences and the best ways to share our story with them. They will join up three components of our finance work – transparency, consumer voice and our Fair Digital Finance Accelerator – with a core focus on our consumer voice profile. Key Responsibilities 

Content generation  

• Draft compelling content for the different audiences of our fair finance work and for a broad suite of communications, including for our website, social media, materials and externally placed opinion pieces. Both this and the Leadership responsibility are core focus areas for this position.

Leadership  

• Develop the Communications Strategy for our Fair Finance work, creating informed and compelling messages and strategic KPIs which help deliver on programme and organisational goals and resonate with audiences.

• Provide strategic oversight to the design, delivery and evaluation of core global finance moments (such as research, events and campaigns).

• Navigate any communications issues relating to this work.

Driving efficiency and continuous improvement  

• Use and develop efficient systems and processes to help improve how we plan and evaluate communications for this work, and to pre-plan to mitigate issues. 

• Be diligent in monitoring the results of our communications performance, to proactively share outcomes with the team and help to improve outcomes. 

Using relationships for change 

• Build relationships with our Members, partners and donors to share their story, make them feel valued and ensure they promote our initiatives.

• Collaborate and work closely with the Fair Finance Team, Global Communications Coordinator and Head of Communications and Membership.

Deliverables

Typical deliverables during the tenure of this post will include:

• Content generation for long/short form content placed on our website and social media.

• Content (primarily opinion pieces) developed, pitched and placed on external partner platforms and/or the media.

• Media placement where relevant, including through press releases, letters to editors and op-eds.

• Strategic Communications Strategy for Finance, and project specific communications plans, which shows understanding of our audiences, messages and with goals aligning to organisational KPIs.

• Finance Communications Address book developed across core partners, based on strong relationships developed.

• Materials and/or audio visual content developed (working with external suppliers to do so) as and when there is a case for it.

Citizen’s vision is to play its part in the evangelisation of the nation, the revitalisation of the church and the transformation of society. They are looking for a new Assistant Coach, to work alongside the Centre Manager, as part of the team at Citizen Church to deliver the Spear Programme, equipping and empowering unemployed 16–24 year olds to overcome barriers to employment and turn their lives around by moving into sustainable work or further education.

Key Responsibilities

Spear Programme

• Lead group sessions of up to 10 young people, using coaching skills to transform their mindsets, and to maximise their potential in stepping into the world of work
• Prepare and deliver coaching sessions on a weekly basis and find creative ways of developing ongoing relationships with Spear Trainees. This includes running application workshops with past Trainees as well as maintaining records and reporting on statistics.

Relationship management

• Build and manage relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including referrers, local businesses, and other organisations
• You will support with job fairs, mock interview days and welcoming external visitors to the centre

Church Community

• The Spear Coach is directly employed by Citizen Church, meaning you are part of a vibrant church staff team and submerged in an exciting faith community
• Help to raise the profile of the Spear programme within Citizen Church and build a network of supporters and volunteers from the congregation
• Other ad hoc church responsibilities from time to time.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and capable individual to join as a Lifeline Caseworker for our South East service, working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, on a 12-month fixed term contract and in return you will receive a salary of up to £26,796 per annum plus excellent benefits.

You will be based at our National Cat Adoption Centre, in Chelwood Gate with frequent travel across the South East. Cats Protection is operating a system of hybrid working, with the flexibility to work from home when appropriate. This can be discussed further at interview stage.

Cats Protection’s Lifeline is a pet fostering service for anyone fleeing domestic abuse. The majority of our referrals come from women fleeing domestic abuse via women-only services. The service places cats into volunteer foster homes on a temporary basis until their owners can be reunited with them.

Responsibilities of our Lifeline Caseworker:

As our Lifeline Caseworker, you will be involved with assessing referrals and admitting cats onto the service, providing pet advice and support to our volunteer foster carers and working with other stakeholders such as pet owners, domestic abuse support services, and internal Cats Protection employees or other agencies. As a human-benefit service, there is minimal cat handling involved, the role includes extensive communication via phone, email and in person, as well as daily admin and extensive driving.

What we’re looking for in our Lifeline Caseworker:

• good all-round experience of performing administrative duties in a busy service
• previous professional experience giving pet care advice
• previous experience in a public facing role
• an understanding of the problems experienced by families fleeing domestic abuse with pets
• a confident self-starter who has had experience of working with volunteers and home visiting
• a full, clean, manual UK driving licence
• good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• experience of working in the animal welfare sector and of being able to provide basic cat welfare and behaviour advice would be highly desirable

The role

As Community Engagement Officer you will play a key role in ensuring the Foundation achieves its objectives of engaging with and increasing physical activity levels amongst the four key priority groups facing the greatest inequalities: low socio-economic groups, women and girls, disabled people and people with long term health conditions, and culturally diverse communities. This will predominantly be achieved through the critical support you will provide to our ambitious PlayZones Programme, as we continue to roll the programme out across priority areas of the Country.

We have an ambition to deliver in excess of 200 PlayZone facilities by 2025. To realise this ambition, we’re going to focus on investing in safe, inclusive, and accessible facilities in communities with the greatest need. We will tackle inequalities in physical activity levels and create inclusive opportunities for our priority groups to become active through recreational formats of football and other sports and activities.

With a great deal to do, the role will be pivotal in working with local groups to support them through the application process, and to ensure high quality projects are being developed based on local community need.

The role sits within the Football Foundation’s Delivery Team, the team responsible for strategic identification and capital project delivery, reporting to the Community Engagement Lead and with responsibility for a portfolio of PlayZone programme areas within one of the Delivery Team geographical regions.

You will provide critical support to applicants and work extremely closely with our network of Delivery Managers & Officers to advise and agree community engagement plans for a range of Over £25k projects – helping to ensure their engagement is robust, but that applicants also receive support and guidance as required throughout the development of their application.

Community Engagement Officers will champion the benefits of great engagement, capturing good practice, identifying successful approaches, and share knowledge and learning across the Foundation and other stakeholders.

What are we looking for?

You don’t need to follow football to apply, but it is expected that you appreciate the power of sport to change lives and have a genuine interest in using your skills and experience to help the Foundation achieve our charitable and strategic objectives.

You must be educated to HND/Degree standard, or with the equivalent experience, with knowledge of how sports development can be used for community benefit. You must have strong communication and interpersonal skills with experience of communicating with and supporting a diverse range of colleagues and customers remotely.

Your knowledge of place-based working and how to best reach and engage with local communities will be key for this role, as well as your understanding of the inequalities that exist in supporting active lives across socio economic groups, women & girls, individuals with a disability or a long-term health condition, and culturally diverse communities. You will be aware of and have experience of dealing with the operations and challenges faced by community organisations, charities, and the voluntary sector.

You must be highly organised, with working knowledge of different project management techniques and experience of managing multiple projects at the same time. While not essential, experience of producing robust reports and of using dashboards to monitor the progress of projects would be useful.

About the Role:
As an IMA you will support the regions, country programme leadership, and International Programmes Directorate, to deliver effective financial plans and ensure best practice in monitoring and evaluating performance is in place.

You will act as a trusted Business Partner of your stakeholders, providing analysis, robust challenge and strategic advice, to support the delivery of WaterAid's mission.
This will include helping to build the financial management capacity of stakeholders through developing and championing self service reporting and insights that support optimal and cohesive decision making on all levels of International Programmes Directorate: country, regional and director.

You'll also:

• Work with Country Senior Management Team to develop business plans for scale up/innovation/new activities for the country programme.
• Support the country programme to implement appropriate financial processes and procedures for sourcing and managing complex restricted funds
• Review and analyse country programme plan and budgets, requesting clarification where required, to provide support and advice to Country Senior Management Teams, Heads of Region and the Head of Management Accounting.
• Consolidate information from country programmes to produce financial analysis and narrative information for regional management accounts on a monthly basis.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships across the global finance function to ensure an integrated approach, mutual learning and effective use of resources.
• Collaborate with wider organisation and actively build relationships with others, including, programmes support functions, fundraising teams and other finance colleagues as well as a range of direct senior stakeholders

About You:
Technical Qualifications and Skills

• Degree level education
• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA)
• Experience in the use of Sun, or a similar multi-dimensional accounting system.
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
• Working knowledge of Business Intelligence tools

• Manage risks across the Trusts sub team by following internal governance procedures, including where relevant SMT briefings, working with media/PR/internal audit/compliance to flag risks and manage mitigation strategies.

About You:

• Demonstrable track record in managing a successful trust and foundation income stream, ensuring team performance indicators and income targets are met.
• Proven ability to personally manage a successful trust and foundation portfolio raising funds from existing and new supporters (£500k+).
• Confidence in representing WaterAid externally at events, conferences and developing co-creation opportunities.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

We are currently seeking for an Office Co-ordinator to join our team in Edinburgh on a permanent, full-time basis, working 35 hours per week (9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday).

The Role

As an Office Co-ordinator, you will assist with the smooth running of our Edinburgh office and provide the required support to the Facilities and Operations Team.

Providing a friendly and welcoming environment for staff, you will act as the first point of contact for all Edinburgh based staff, effectively dealing with staff requests relating to their working environment, including health and safety issues.

You will also provide IT support to staff, liaise with our IT provider, carry out staff building induction and training as will be required for new starters, ensuring that procedures are in place for onboarding of new staff.

Additionally, you will:

- Ensure meeting room equipment is in working order
- Arrange Edinburgh based social functions for staff
- Process invoices and track payments
- Ensure up-to-date information is available on the SharePoint Facilities intranet site

About You

To be considered as an Office Co-ordinator, you will need:

- Experience in a similar service and administration and/or office support orientated role
- Experience providing support to financial administration processes
- The ability to set up, implement and maintain office systems
- Good knowledge of IT and Office 365
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive, flexible effective planner with a can do attitude
- At a minimum, A-Levels or an equivalent level of education or equivalent experience

The Meridian One Community Garden serves as a space where we focus on cultivating fruit, salad, and vegetable produce. We involve the local community by hosting weekly volunteer gardening sessions, welcoming school visits, and organising various community events.

TCV is seeking a Senior Project Officer with expertise in community engagement, event coordination, and managing community facilities. The garden, which was established one year ago, encompasses facilities such as an office, a community meeting/education room, toilets, and a spacious polytunnel.

The Senior Project Officer will oversee a range of tasks including planning and executing community events, maintaining site Health & Safety, leading volunteers in practical projects like building wooden planters, tending to garden plants, and ensuring timely completion of administrative duties such as procurement, risk assessments, social media updates, and task reporting. They will also lead activities for the under 5’s Nature Explorers group, school visits, themed evening events, and family weekends. Additionally, they'll organise corporate volunteering sessions and cover holiday shifts for the Green Gym gardening program. Previous events have included 'Pampering and Enrichment,' 'Repurpose, Recycle, Reinvent' workshops, and a Black Women in Conservation and Horticulture photo exhibition, as well as our weekend family events featuring free food, music, and arts and crafts activities.

This role involves being friendly and open to various people who visit, from the toddlers attending the Nature Explorers club, to our volunteer gardeners, to senior staff from the local authority. There are two other people working part-time at the garden, and TCV provides thorough training and support from a helpful local team.

Ideally, we’re looking for someone with experience of gardening and/or nature conservation. However, what’s equally important is that the Senior Project Officer has initiative, is welcoming, and comfortable working with a wide range people. We’d therefore welcome applications from candidates who can display those personable qualities, with perhaps experience of working in a community centre setting.

In Spring 2024, TCV will be taking on the management of an additional nearby meanwhile space. The new Senior Project Officer will join us at an exciting time when we begin to turn that space into a new community tree nursery. Working with local people to gather seeds from significant trees in the surrounding area, we aim to grow saplings which will go on to be distributed for planting around London.

Working hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Given the nature of the role the Senior Project Officer will need to work from the garden during these times. Occasionally, to avoid lone working in the absence of another colleague, there will be the opportunity to work from home. Weekend family events take place on Saturdays, four times a year and there are approximately six evening events which take place between April to September. This post holder would be expected to attend those evening and weekend events.
