The Royal Parks (TRP) is a charity created in March 2017. We manage over 5,000 acres of diverse parkland, rare habitats and historic buildings and monuments in eight Royal Parks across London. These are Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, The Green Park, St James’s Park, The Regent's Park and Primrose Hill, Greenwich Park, Richmond Park and Bushy Park.

We are now looking for a Building Surveyor to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working 36 hours per week.

The Role

As a Building Surveyor, you will lead and support the surveying, maintenance, and refurbishment of a wide variety of buildings and structures across our estate.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver condition surveys, oversee refurbishment programmes, and manage maintenance works on everything from residential lodges and listed bridges to ornamental gates and water features.

You'll advise on defects, prepare technical reports and specifications, and ensure works are delivered to high standards while protecting the integrity of each park’s heritage.

Additionally, you will:

• Administer schedules of condition and dilapidation reports
• Assist with historic building techniques and civil engineering support
• Oversee procurement and delivery of minor works
• Maintain asset records and support conservation reporting

About You

To be considered as a Building Surveyor, you will need:

• Experience in building surveying and inspections
• Experience of planning and listed building practise, the roles of Historic England and local planning authorities
• Knowledge and experience of Building Regulations, in particular Part M, Access and Use of Buildings
• Knowledge of Building Pathology and the ability to use this to make recommendations
• Knowledge of procurement tendering and contract management skills
• The ability to prepare tender documents and tender evaluations
• A professional qualification or be about to obtain RICS/CIOB/APM/AFM

The Role

As a Civils Engineer, you will lead the management and maintenance of civil infrastructure across the Royal Parks estate.

With responsibility for a diverse and historic landscape, you will oversee a range of engineering and drainage projects and deliver expert guidance to the Estates and Works Teams while supporting the Facilities Management contract.

Your work will involve a mix of project administration and site-based inspections, including condition surveys, technical reporting, and contractor oversight.

From resurfacing footpaths and improving drainage to managing reservoir compliance, you’ll ensure infrastructure is maintained to the highest safety and quality standards while balancing value and heritage considerations.

Additionally, you will:

• Audit the monthly road and footpath.
• Manage the Annual Reservoir inspections
• Manage bridge and culvert inspections.
• Manage cyclical maintenance programmes
• Oversee civil engineering projects from procurement through to completion
• Prepare annual budgets and manage expenditure reporting
• Advise on cost-effective repair strategies and maintain the asset register

About You

To be considered as a Civils Engineer, you will need:

• Proven design and site management experience in civil engineering
• Knowledge and experience of contract management
• Experience of report writing and the ability to present reports to a high standard
• Experience of establishing and managing recurring maintenance programmes
• Knowledge of road, footpath, drainage, revetment and bridge maintenance
• A sound understanding of relevant legislation and technical matters relating to drainage and highways management
• A degree, HND or HNC in Civil Engineering or a related field

The Royal Parks is seeking a highly organised interim HR Systems & Payroll Manager to cover a 12-month period of maternity leave. This vital role will lead the smooth and seamless operation of our HR infrastructure, supporting over 350 permanent and seasonal employees who care for London's most iconic green spaces.

You will play a critical part in maintaining employee engagement by delivering an excellent HR operational service encompassing payroll, pensions, HR systems development and delivery, supplier contract management, and project work. You'll also manage and develop a team of HR Administrators, ensuring consistently high standards of service.

Our parks - spanning Hyde Park to Richmond - are visited by tens of millions of people each year. This role ensures that the people behind them are supported with first-class HR operations.

Key Responsibilities * Lead the management and development of HR Information Systems * Oversee payroll administration and manage external payroll supplier * Ensure accurate administration of Civil Service and Charity pension schemes * Deliver HR data and insights to support audits, reporting and workforce planning * Manage and develop the HR Administration team * Support pay and reward initiatives, including benchmarking and modelling.
